05.04.2024 DARK TRANQUILLITY KONSERİ (BEŞİKTAŞ IF)

“Dark Tranquillity”, 2024 yılının aylar öncesinden “Sold Out” olan etkinlikler serisi kapsamında önce 4 Nisan Ankara, sonra 5 Nisan günü İstanbul Beşiktaş IF’te konserlerini verdi. İstanbullular olarak konsere bir, bir buçuk saat kala (Aylar öncesinden açıklanan saat 21.00 idi.) IF’in sokağında yerimizi aldık. Garip bir durum vardı, “Sold Out” olan bir konsere göre dışarıda fazla bir yoğunluk yoktu. Bu durumu kapının erken açılmasına bağladık fakat aksine, etkinlik alanını gören camlı bölümün önüne oturduğumuzda alanın içinin de fazla kalabalık olmadığını gördük. Bu insanlar neredeydi? Cevabı; grup sahneye çıktıktan sonra aldık. “DT”nin ilk üç şarkısı boyunca insanlar mekana giriş yapmaya devam etti, içerisi hınca hınç doldu.

Mekanın nispeten geç dolmasının sebepleri; organizasyonun etkinlik saati, kapı açılış saati gibi bilgileri sosyal medya üzerinden geçmemesi, etkinlik gününün uzun bayram tatili öncesi son mesaiye denk gelmesi, Kadir gecesi günü konserin olması vs. olabilir. Sonuç olarak biz mekana girerken kapıda çok uzun bir kuyruk vardı ve dediğim gibi ilk üç şarkıdan sonra içeride nefes alacak yer kalmamıştı. Halimizden memnunduk, hatta epey memnunduk. Konser tek kelimeyle inanılmazdı. Bu yazıda konserden bahsederken ve “DT”nin inanılmaz performansını överken aynı zamanda muhteşem solistleri Mikael Stanne için ayrı bir parantez açacağım. Mikael; tavırları, güler yüzü, sosyalliği ve sosyal zekası, naifliği ve asla düşmeyen enerjisi ile bu parantezi hatta yazıyı, kocaman sayfaları, belki kitapları hak ediyor!

Konserin benim nazarımda inişleri ve çıkışları vardı. Hoş bir giriş introsundan sonra (“Iron Man-Black Sabbath”) “Encircled” “Treason Wall” “Hours Passed in Exile” şarkıları başta dediğim gibi ısınma turları olarak geçti. “DT” İstanbul’da verdikleri bir önceki konserlerinden bu yana yeni bir albüm çıkarmadı. (Son olarak “The Last Imagination” isimli güzel bir Single yayınladılar. Önceki ziyaretlerinde 2020 çıkışlı “Moment” albümü ağırlıklı bir “Setlist” izlemişlerdi.

Benim şahsen çok başarılı bulduğum bu albümden “Phantom Days” şarkısıyla konsere devam ettiler. Seyirci ciddi manada kıpırdanmaya başladı. “Terminus (Where Death Is Most Alive) ve az önce bahsettiğim yeni singleları “The Last Imagination” sonrası çalınan “Atoma” ile seyirci resmen ateşlendi. Artık geriye dönüş yoktu. Nispeten genç Bassçılarının performansı çok iyiydi. Tecrübeli klavyecileri atmosferi canlandırıyordu. (Davul ve klavyenin sesini hafif düşük bulsam da ses genel olarak iyiydi.) Gitaristleri ve Sololarına diyecek hiçbir şeyim yok, kaybolup gittim ama artık İsveçli sevilen dostlarımız “DT”nin enstrüman ekibini çok güzel bir noktaya koyup, Frontman’leri Mikael Stanne’den bahsetme zamanımız geldi çattı!

Biraz alakasız olacak ama sizlere yıllar yıllar önce İş Sanat’ta gittiğim bir “Fado” (Portekiz halk müziği.) konserinden bahsetmek istiyorum. Mariza isimli “Fado” sanatçısı konserin ortasında, uzun enstrümantel bir şarkıda sahneden seyircinin arasına inip herkesin elini tek tek sıkmıştı. (Herkesin!) Oturmalı bir seyirci düzeninde, bütün seyircilerin koltuklarının yanına gidip, gülümseyip onların ellerini sıkmak takdir edersiniz ki epey vakit almıştı. Kimse şikayetçi değildi, inanılmaz duygusal anlardı. Zaten enstrümantel bölüme geçmeden önce bu şarkıyı ve Portekiz ülkesi hakkında ki, Portekizli insanlar, Dünya insanları hakkında ki duygusallığını uzun uzun anlatmıştı. Herkes sakince, tek tek elinin sıkılmasını beklemişti. “Mariza”nın elini sıkarken onun yüzünde gördüğüm duygusallığı, insanlığı, güler yüzü ve naifliği daha önceden birçok defa karşılaştığım ve önceki yazılarımda bahsettiğim “Katatonia” grubundan Jonas Renkse dışında Mikael Stanne’de gördüm. (İsveç alçakgönüllülüğü bu olsa gerek :) Bu adam bir önceki konserleri sonrası “Dorock HMC”ye gidip sabaha kadar bütün insanlarla fotoğraf çektirmiş, muhabbet etmiş, bira içmiş, suratından bir saniye olsun gülümsemesini esirgememişti. Bu konser boyunca ve sonrasında da aynısı oldu. Dünya bir yana Mikael Stanne’in iyi niyet enerjisi bir yana! Sen Çok yaşa!

“Nothing To One” “The Dark Unbroken” “What Only You Know” ve yine 2020 albümlerinden “Identical To None” ile “DT” ara vermeden tam gaz devam ediyor. Mikael’in bir dakika duracak hali yok, sadece bazen seyircinin aşırı reaksiyonu karşısında nutku tutulup sahneden iniyor, önde ki seyircilerle hoşbeş ediyor, seyirciye inanamaz bakışlar atıp yüzlerine gülümsüyor. Konser boyunca buna benzer birçok görülmeye değer an yaşandı. Bazı şarkılarda arka planda şarkı sözlerinin aşırı iyi görseller eşliğinde verilmesi seyirciyle etkileşimi arttırdı. (Bence daha fazla grubun daha fazla konserde kullanması lazım gerçekten hoş bir detay oluyor.) Başlarda ki görsellerde neredeyse hipnotize oluyordum, zor toparladım.

“Sold Out” olan bir Metal müzik konserinde bir sürü arkadaşınızı, dostunuzu görüyorsunuz. Bu konserde onlardan biriydi, gerçekten keyifli muhabbetler yapıldı, eskiler yad edildi, abilerimiz, ablalarımız anıldı. (RIP BARON-Çağlan Tekil.) Birçok farklı duygu yaşandı... Konsere dönersek eğer, “Forward Momentum”la birlikte işler artık duygusal bir şekilde sertleşiyor. “Cathode Ray Sunshine” “State Of Trust” “Final Resistance” (Pek severim.) ve “Therein” sonrası grup yoğun alkış kıyamet eşliğinde sahneden kısa süreliğine iniyor. Herkes hep bir ağızdan grubu sahneye geri çağırmak için avazı çıktığı kadar bağırıyor ve nihayet zurnanın ZART! dediği yere geliyoruz…

Melodiyi duyar duymaz beyninizde atom bombası gibi patlayan, sizi bir anda ayağa kaldıran, “Hassiktir” dedirten şarkılar vardır. Konu “DT” olunca yine birçok şarkı insanın aklına gelir tabi ama bir tanesi vardır ki zannetmiyorum herhangi bir Metal müzik dinleyicisi buna kayıtsız kalabilsin. “Lethe” ile “DT” sahneye dönüyor, ortalık… Pek anlatabileceğim gibi değil... Çakmak çakıp eşlik eden mi dersin? Alkış tutan mı? Kendinden geçen mi? Bağırıp çağıran mı? Bütün bu hezeyanlar geçtikten sonra tabiki yekvücut olup “Lethe” diye hep bir ağızdan grubun efsane şarkısına eşlik ediliyor.

Ne önceki konserde ne de uzun zamandır “DT” bu şarkıyı canlı çalmamıştı ve bu gecenin çalınan tek “Lethe” şarkısı bu olmayacaktı! Kendimizi özel hissediyoruz, “DT” Türkiye’yi, bizde onları gerçekten çok seviyoruz. “Lost To Apathy” tamamda artık “Misery’s Crown”da (Sanırım en sevdiğim “DT” şarkısı olabilir.) iyice dağılıyorum, artık ne olacaksa olsun! İyice kabarmış saçlarım ve koca bedenimle “Headbang” yaparken sanıyorum arkada en az on kişinin manzarasını sahil şeridine dikilen gökdelen gibi kapatmışımdır. Bunun için özür dilerim, yaradılış işte. Mağdur arkadaşlara saygılar, sevgiler.

Konser bitiyor, bende bitmişim. Saçımı sakalımı toplamam on dakika falan sürmüştür. Dışarıya çıkabildiğimiz zaman biraz daha mekanın restoranında oturuyoruz. Muhabbetler, kritikler, şu konser var, bu albümü dinle vs. Bakıyoruz adamlar içeriden yavaş yavaş çıkıyor. Önceki konserden bol bol fotomuz olsa da fazlası göz çıkarmaz, koştur koştur Mikael’i yakalıyoruz. Tabiki bizi kırmıyor, ayaküstü hoş beş bile ediyoruz. (Arka fonda gülen bir dayı ve Tekel dükkanı manzaralı şahane bir Mikael’li fotoyu koleksiyona ekliyorum.) Ben bu naifliğe tekrardan hayran kaldım. Adam uçakta olsa “abi foto çektireydik” desen, herif uçaktan rahmetli Zeki Müren gibi atlar, seninle fotoyu çekilir sonra uçağa geri biner. O derece… Helal olsun sana Mikael, iyi ki bu Dünya’da senin gibi insanlar var!

Konser bitti, adamlar yorgundur şimdi otele geçerler, haydi bizde dağılalım saçmalığı içerisinde evlere gidiyoruz. Adamlar ne dağılması Dorock HMC’yi dağıtmaya gidiyor! Yetmiyor, Mikael sahnede “Razor INC.” ile birlikte iki tane “DT” şarkısı söylüyor, bunlardan biri “Lethe” oluyor. Ben böyle şey ne duydum, ne gördüm. Sabah olunca evde pişmanlıktan kendimi yedim yedim, duvara attım! Bir önce ki konserleri sonrası da yazının başında dediğim gibi Dorock HMC’de sabaha kadar oturmuşlardı. (Ah benim aptal kafam bok vardı evde.) “Razor INC.” den Başer’in Mikael’le olan sarılma görüntüleri bana teselli oluyor. Bu dostluk, bu anlayış, bu sevgi… Önceki gelişlerinde de şimdi de gözlerimi dolduruyor. Bize harika bir gece yaşatan, emeği geçen herkese çok teşekkürler! Çok yaşa “Dark Tranquillity” çok yaşa “Razor INC.” çok yaşa “Dorock HMC” Nice nice konserlerde Görüşmek üzere!

News from Belize, 18 July

A young mother of two was tragically killed and her 4-year-old daughter injured in a shooting incident at their home in Belize City.

The shooting is believed to be the result of an internal feud within the George Street gang, and the victim, Jasmine Domingo, was not the intended target.

Domingo's 4-year-old daughter was shot and is stable, but her parents were killed in separate incidents of gun violence, leaving her and her little brother without parents.

The incident highlights the ongoing issue of violence and crime in Belize City.

2. A resident of San Estevan Village lost his life in a road traffic incident involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.

The motorcyclist, Edwin Ismael Ramirez, lost control and swerved into the oncoming pickup truck, resulting in the accident.

This incident adds to the tragic history of accidents in the Ramirez family, with one brother already in a wheelchair and another now deceased.

3. A hit-and-run incident in the Orange Walk District resulted in the death of a 34-year-old man and injuries to another person.

The victim's family is seeking justice for their loss and is urging the public to help identify the perpetrator.

The incident involved a white pickup truck hitting a cyclist and a separate motorcycle accident shortly after.

4. Prime Minister John Briceno left the country today enroute to Brussels, Belgium where he will the European Union – Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (EU-CELAC) Summit 2023. 

5. The inauguration of a new police station in Seine Bight Village highlights the importance of ensuring the safety of Belizean citizens and tourists.

The collaboration between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Belize Tourism Board aims to address crime issues and create a safer environment in the Placencia Peninsula.

The government's efforts, along with the leadership of Inspector Martinez, have led to a significant reduction in major crimes in the region.

6. The National Fire Service is implementing a new recruitment process for firefighter volunteers, which includes releasing those who did not complete high school and requiring them to further their education to rejoin.

The aim of this revamp is to ensure a higher level of education and qualifications among firefighters.

The Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Disaster Risk Management, Dr Kenrick Williams, explains that this change is driven by the need for a more skilled and competent fire service.

ARCH ENEMY, TRIVIUM, DARK TRANQUILLITY Singers Perform At 'Metal: Hellsinger' Concert At GAMESCOM

Metal: Hellsinger, the heavy metal rhythm shooter from publisher Funcom and developer The Outsiders, took to the stage earlier today (Thursday, August 25) at Gamescom, Europe's leading trade fair for digital games culture, in Cologne, Germany in the largest live concert ever seen at the event. Several of the game's celebrated vocalists performed their songs from the game, which are written by Swedish composer duo Two Feathers.

This epic joining of music and game was streamed live for all to watch and can now be seen below.

After shooting past one million demo downloads and a rapid climb up the Steam wishlist, Funcom and The Outsiders turned it up to 11 by gathering an astounding number of the game's metal icons to perform, including Matt Heafy (TRIVIUM), Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY), Mikael Stanne (DARK TRANQUILLITY), Dennis Lyxzén (REFUSED, INVSN) and James Dorton (BLACK CROWN INITIATE).

The massive event was free and open to thousands of people, thanks to an entire hall being reserved for it. Even more were able to witness the mayhem on the livestream on the official Metal: Hellsinger homepage.

Those attending Gamescom had free access to the show, and the first 200 to enter got a bagful of exclusive Metal: Hellsinger merchandise.

In Metal: Hellsinger, the better you slay to the beat, the more intense the experience gets, with the music unfolding in layers, until it culminates in full vocals blasting as you tear through demons. Dive headfirst into the fires and frost of the Hells in search of vengeance.

Metal: Hellsinger will be released on September 15 on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox X|S. Pre-orders for consoles are available now, and the demo, which released to glowing responses, is available now on all platforms.

sorry for sending so many u don’t need to answer them all lol but how would u rank loona as kpop stans.. like gowon said haseul doesn’t really like kpop but then theres jinsoul #1 sana stan

1. gowon prides herself on her kpop knowledge

2. choerry, jinsoul & yeojin are both pretty darn passionate about kpop they are Enjoyers

3. vivi lacks the knowledge of like, what kids were listening to whilst growing up but she does know a LOT of kpop songs and i mean obviously she loves kpop enough to uproot her whole life for it

4. hyeju, sooyoung are kind of the same level? extensive knowledge and pretty into it esp older stuff but they dont seem to keep up with present day stuff

5. heejin, hyunjin and kim lip are all kinda the same they don't seem to be very stann-y but they listen to it, their tastes are super interspersed with international music

6. chuu is like... she only listens to songs that she sings well LOL she knows a lot of OSTs and old songs but i dont think she's that interested

7. haseul doesn't listen to kpop OR international music i think she just exclusively listens to iu, taeyeon and opera or something. in a way, her love for iu kinda makes her a stan? but since she barely listens to other kpop songs...

Swedish Death Assembly Grand Cadaver Teases New Material with “Grim Eternal”

~Doomed & Stoned Debuts~

We've previously looked to Sweden for its endless stream of inspiration in stoner, psychedelic fuzz and retro rock. This month, there is a sea change for the rapacious sounds of doom and death metal as GRAND CADAVAR makes its presence known in a big way with the single, "Grim Eternal." I must have listened to it on repeat 4 or 5 times on my first hearing. Its death-doom textures and bloodthirsty growls dominate the imagination during the three-and-a-half minute runtime, making us instinctively crave more.

The song follows the band's impressive February EP, 'Madness Comes' (2021), and the recent 7" single, "Reign Through Fire," as our first taste of the rolling, grinding, gritty sound we can expect from the Gothenburg team, which finds fitting moments to mix doom and groove into its death metal recipe.

Notes guitarist Stefan Lagergren: "We wanted to create a death metal song so massive you can feel the sonic weight in your eardrums, while at the same time make it catchy and direct. It was recorded in a very raw and honest way since we waNted a sound that was simply, 'What You Hear Is What You Get!' Five musicians live in a room. 'Rigorous and Merciless. The Epitome of Pain'!"

Grand Cadavar's sound is indeed massive and unrelenting, at times reminding me of the rawness and intensity Entombed, Bloodbath, and HeavyDeath, while striking a tone of menace comporable to Mitch-era Suicide Silence. The command of this veteran handful is not surprising, as we have here ex-members of Katatonia, Transport League, Tiamat, and In Flames, and some currently attached to bands like Dark Tranquility, Novarupta, Pagandom, Disrupted, and V (to name but a few of their blessed entanglements).

This makes us anxious to bear witness to the band's debut LP, Into The Maw of Death (out the last week in October), so consider this a foretaste of the devastation to come this Fall.

?Hot on the heels of last year’s critically acclaimed debut EP, Madness Comes, Swedish death metal assembly, Grand Cadaver, return with a brand-new single and update on their debut album.

Featuring guitarists Stefan Lagergren (The Grifted/ex. Treblinka/Expulsion) and Alex Stjernfeldt (Novarupta/Let Them Hang), drummer Daniel Liljekvist (Disrupted/ex. Katatonia), Pagandom bassist Christian Jansson, and vocals from Dark Tranquillity’s Mikael Stanne, the band draws together some of the finest musicians the Swedish metal scene has to offer.

“I heard two songs from an early demo, and I just knew I had to work with them,” explains Majestic Mountain Records’ Marco Berg. “I was blown away! Grand Cadaver honours old-school death metal but put their own spin on it and the production is some of the heaviest I have heard in years.”

Their last single ‘Reign Through Fire’ was a sprawling death metal dirge driven deftly around the historic circuitry of Marshall stacks and HM-2s. Where traditional thrash metal meets Stockholm Death Metal, consuming doom and progressive rock along the way, Grand Cadaver was established to celebrate the legacy of extreme music, while seizing the moment to hang out, drink beers and share riffs and great music with friends and close allies.

Their scorching new single ‘Grim Eternal’ will be officially released on 3rd September, with their debut LP, Into the Maw of Death arriving on 29th October via Majestic Mountain Records.

C’est le début d’une aventure qui la mènera dans une immense forêt, la forêt des ELLES… L’humanité est-elle condamnée à revivre les mêmes scénarios ?
