How many distinctive little arcs did the game you play go through? Oh, and something I've always had a problem with, how do you end it? Is there just a send off after the climax where you describe them continuing to do cool things?

aaaa there were a bunch! it was basically divided into books, of which we had… 7 I think, and chapters and then episodes. you can sort of see how it worked out in the first book writeups, this is more or less how it worked for the rest of the game too. the books were like, 

1) Rise of the Solars: Solars find each other, coming into power, making some changes. ends with the Wyld Hunt taking Towersong, defeating the Solars, who go into exile in Karn

2) Exile: finding their feet in Karn, making allies and friends, uncovering secrets of Towersong’s founding and the many-layered crimes that made it up. ends with the return to Towersong to defeat the Wyld Hunt

3) The Wheel of Fate is Turning: beginning to rule Towersong, scrounging resources, retaking the abandoned satrapy of Earthseat, allying with the Kreeha’s Lunar queen, hearing of the threat of the Nowhere Walker and the Mask of Winters, putting control of the Saltspire Leagues into Iselsi hands. ends with the beckoning and defeat of the Green Sun.

3.5) One Atom of Justice: the OVA! weird experimental arc during Calibration during which the Time of Cascading Years comes to earth being my Dragon-Blood Zyden from the last campaign continuity. destruction of the Amber Post, near apocalypse. ends with the defeat of the Time of Cascading Years and the severing of the rope that hung the Maker.

4) Towersong Tales: branching out beyond Towersong, drawing the interest of the dead and the forces of heaven. the discovery of the Usurpation and Manus’ past incarnation, fighting Lookshy for the artifacts found within Denandsor. ends with Elmira claiming the key she needs to automate Towersong’s defenses.

5) The Lessons Learned in Winter: the Bull of the North becomes a threat. Towersong comes to Medo’s aid against him, the Dragon-Bloods there befriend the Solar circle, meeting the fourth member of the Circle, the star falls on Taraktuti, the defeat of the Bull. ends with Manus pulling forth the Eye of the Autochthon, the subsequent death of the Bull, and the rising of the Nowhere Walker.

6) The World Left Blind: the journey into Ramastan. Manus gets married, the discovery of Hidden Hand’s grave and the identity of the Mask of Winters. the Seal is unlocked, and the Solars take their closest allies and travel to aid the Maker. the rise of the Necropolis of Ixut, the death of the Mask of Winters, the coming of the Nowhere Walker. ends with the rescue of Ramathus from within the Viator, the return of the Eye, the rejuvenation of Ramastan, and his renaming to Autochthon. 

after that, we got a nice short timeskip to a few years later or so. our GM asked us in advance for one or two things we’d each like to see that would really round out the experience and wrap up our stories, so we each submitted those and got them as Return of the King-style post-ending scenes. Elmira’s two children were born; her sorcerous daughter with Schala Vizigraf and her Sublime clockwork daughter Metis, who now runs Towersong’s Academy. Lark was reunited with his family, his newly-exalted Lunar sister, and his new baby sibling Robin. Manus crafts his first artifact and uses it to help convince the Isle away from civil war, aided by the Mirror Flag. the Nowhere Walker, now Autochthon’s fetich soul Ramathus, comes to Towersong to beg their forgiveness for his crimes. Manus extends the gift of the Uhrgraf: a second chance. the Nowhere Walker comes to dinner at Lark’s place.

(also, we’ve already got plans for bonus content! we’re not done playing them, just done playing them as our primary, regular game :D )

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons thatyou will die defending?

Not really. I’m a very flexible person when it comes tointerpretable lore and content, especially if it’s the type of HCs that thefandom collectively comes up with. Unless it’s a canon fact, I like to dabble orjust stay away from HCs in general. If I have to come up with some in my fics,then so be it. But most of the time these HCs are either super vague or onlyapply to the context in this particular piece or series of writing. Basically Idon’t mind switching HCs for charas frequently as long as it does notfundamentally change their own character. (HCs for hobbies and loves and habitsand relationships apart from their inner circle, etc. are all fine)

Honestly it just boils down to expectations lol I know myown limits, and I know not to be disappointed when canon updates end updebunking (popular) fandom HCs or my own.
