If the Real Greek Gods met their PJO counterparts, WW3 would definitely happen.

Artemis is supposed to be the protector of young girls, not trick them into joining an eternal hunting/death cult, take them to witness wars and punish them if they want to leave. She would not isolate them from society and freeze their biological development. She would not kick lesbians out of the hunt. If Real Artemis met PJO Artemis, she'd hunt her down ruthlessly and slaughter her as painfully as possible.

If Real Zeus met PJO Zeus, he'd be throwing him into Tartarus. What do you mean you're a bumbling, incompetent king that can't be bothered to take care of his own kids and doesn't let the others see them? Tartarus for you, asshole!

If Real Apollo met PJO Apollo, I think that he'd be disappointed. Kind of mad, but mostly disappointed. Apollo seems to be a good dad, but he's still vain and narcissistic when Real Apollo isn't really like that.

If Real Hades met PJO Hades, he'd be roaring at him for breaking justice by sending monsters after a twelve year old girl for no fault of her own just because of what her father did to his lover. He'd be screaming at the way Hades sent his son down into Tartarus of all places for no good reason. Honestly Hades would also throw PJO Hades into Tartarus.

If Real Hera met PJO Hera, she'd be disgusted by her. Liking perfect families only? Beefing with literal children who aren't even Zeus' bastards? Leaving a hero to wander the streets when said hero saved Olympus? No gratitude at all? No, honey, straight into Tartarus for you too.

If Real Ares met PJO Ares.........oh boy, the fight would destroy most of New York, I should think. It would kill millions of people and animals. Real Ares would be rearing to rip PJO Ares apart.

If Real Athena met PJO Athena, she'd be horrified at how Athena treated her lovers and children. She would literally fight her and make her swear on the Styx to never dump babies on men without their consent. Actually, she'd use her wits to throw PJO Athena into Tartarus.

Another day another morning where I hyperfixate on Nico and his powers. Today we are going to have another episode of: "Riordan trying to not make the audience realize how much Nico is OP by writing off something and never talking about it again". (There are a lot of those moments unfortunately).

We are going to talk about a specific moment in SoN. This from XIV Percy PoVs (pag 105-106):

“You mean the Doors of Death,” Reyna said, ignoring Octavian. “They are mentioned in the Prophecy of Seven,which sent the first expedition to Alaska—”

Cato the ghost snorted. “We all know how that turned out! We Lares remember!” The other ghosts grumbled in agreement. Nico put his finger to his lips. Suddenly all the Lares went silent. Some looked alarmed, like their mouths had been glued together. Percy wished he had that power over certain living people…like Octavian,for instance.

This also isn't the first time Nico showed to have control over them,since during the dinner in a couple of chapters before he did the same thing.

For understanding the real picture of this,we need to actually talk about what Lares are in mythology.

Lares were guardian deities in Ancient Rome. They were believed to: observe,protect,and influence everything that happens within the boundaries of their location or function. The statues of domestic Lares were placed at the table during family meals because their presence,cult,and blessing were required in important family events.

Romans writers sometimes identify or conflate them with ancestor-deities,and because of this,Lares are sometimes categorised as household gods,but some had much broader domains: roadways,seaways,agriculture,livestock,towns,cities (like New Rome at CJ),the state,and its military (the cohorts) were all under the protection of their particular Lar or Lares.

Compared to Rome's major deities,Lares had limited scope and potency,but archaeological and literary evidence attests to their central role in Roman identity and religious life.

So,while in Camp Jupiter they are treated a bit like trash,together with their fauns,in Ancient Rome they were extremely important. They were like minor gods that protected you,your family,your whole city and military force. And that's something big especially for the Roman Empire because they were literally everywhere during their golden years.

Nico has the ability to literally controll minor romans deities (that works as protective domestic gods) with just one of his fingers. And they listen to him because he has the power to do so.

Of course Lares in HoO have a totally different role from the one in roman mythology. But they are ghosts right? So it doesn't matter what status they have,they will always be under Nico control no matter what,because they are portrayed as ghosts even with their larger role. Because Nico is the Ghost King and every ghost is under him.

Crazy right?

Well,HoH kinda fucked that up with the fact that the roman skeletons/ghosts weren't attacking under his command and Frank had to step up as a leader role.

I'm going to be honest here,I don't like how Riordan gave the children of Mars and Ares control over the dead soldiers that were killed/died in wars/conflicts. It's too much and it doesn't really rappresent their nature. I liked how Frank finally grow up in his own role and he got rid of his insecurities,but the fact that it happened in that way wasn't really something I appreciated. I liked more when he had to cleanse Venice from all the monsters to have Nico and Hazel back (even tho I didn't like his attitude towards Nico during that mission).

Nico showed he could have control over the dead from the Roman Pantheon part,since in SoN he made every ghost shut up with just a movement of his hand and they were hopeless to him. They couldn't go against his order. And now in HoH,in the place where he and Hazel should be the strongest of the group (even with the fact he is half dying already),you are telling me that the deads won't listen to him because he isn't roman? Where is the logic at??

When they were trapped in the palace of the God Notus he was literally training with the scepter,to make sure it was in tune with his powers,for when they reached his dad's temple. That's something both him and Jason talked about before Nico got angry at him (valid),and he even said he got a good hand of it. So yes,he already used it once and the dead responded to his summoning without a problem. The scepter itself should act as a sort of amplifier to strengthen Nico's powers.

And then you want me to believe that the dead took one look at Nico and decided he was too greek for them? When a couple of chapters before they responded to his command and at the start of the serie Nico literally made roman dieties shut up?

Riordan need to stop adding powers to Nico if he realized they are too much for him to write,or because he don't want someone esle to overshadow his favorite MC. He put himself in deep trenches when he stated that Percy was the most powerful demigod of this century,when there are characters that are his equals (all the Big 3 kids) by just their parentage. And of course,there are also character more powerful than him too,be it demigods,gods,monsters,primordials,titans and the list goes on.

And if he want to add more powers,then he don't have the right take them away with stupid reasoning,or just completely forgot about them after 2 lines (like Nico's sword). A side character can still be stronger than the MC without overshadowing him,you just need to balance them well. Which it's something he never did because Nico is clearly nerfed in everything.

This is not how it work.

I think I once saw a post where Athena was actually very amused & proud of Ody's admittedly genius plan to dodge the draft (not that she would've let him get away with it).

Assuming this is set in the WP!AU though, she's actually disappointed that he let his guard down so soon & got hurt to the point he's benched for good.

Like, from her POV, all that training & hard work only to meet an anticlimatic end due to a cunning ambush Ody should've seen coming. And then, her brother, the unfavourite & perpetual rival, swoops in with his own favourite who's just as good (or worse, better) than hers.

How else would you expect a 'selfish, prideful & vain' goddess to react?

Placing my predictions for millies arc in season three.

Now we have all seen the lastest expo and heard millies voice actress say she believes millie has imposter syndrome which yeah really tracks.

As others have pointed out millies main charater flaw is that she feels like she has to take care of everyone even at the expense of herself but the question is. How do we get her to stop that?

That's where my little theory comes in. Maybe the best way to get millie to see she shouldn't use others problems as a way to ignore her own problems is for the others in question to simply run out of problems for her to solve!

Think about it? If both blitz and moxxie finish up their arcs this season then millie will have no choice but to look at her own well being because now she's one of maybe two people who hasn't fully addressed their struggles!!

I think the best way to show millie that she doesn't need to care for everyone is simply for everyone to just not really need her care anymore.

Like for example she insists upon following blitz to his new date with stolas at ozzies believing something would go wrong but ends up being the very thing that ruins the date! Blitz gives her a mild scolding for being a hypocrite and poking her nose in his life after he promised to stay out of her and her husband's life and tells her he that he isn't a child and sends her home.

Or maybe she gets so tried of her involuntary pregnancy leave that she gets tricked into going into a fake mission call as a trap!

But whatever happens I think it would be great if blitz and the rest of the team reassured her that they all to some degree understand what it's like to believe that your self worth is decided by what you can provide for others rather than what you decide it is and show her that it's OK to just let yourself be vulnerable and admit that you need help. Perhaps the others could show her what they have learned from both life and her. blitz knows what it's like to feel like you are only worthy of giving support and never receiving, moxxie knows what it's like to feel helpless, loona gets what it's like to be beholden to others (born a slave after all) and stolas relates to her patenting fears.

Okay but, might be an unpopular opinion but I don't really want Apollo becoming a Good Person™. Like. Let him keep killing people. Please

He's a very contradictory god, not only in PJO (I made a post about about how much he contradicts himself), but also in mythology in general. He's the god of medicine but also the god of plagues, for example

In PJO, what I want him to be like is a better person. Not good, bc he's still a god and he's still quite literally made out of human minds and human minds are not completely good, but still better

I want him to visit his children, to acknowledge that some of the stuff he did was fucked up, etc etc etc. But I want him to be all that while still, idk, killing entire cities with plagues. Because he's the god of plagues. Come on

Like— he's the plague that killed your family but he is also the doctor that saved your dog. You get what I'm trying to say?? Gods are essentially what they're the gods of (Ares is war, Dionysus is insanity, for example) and that means that they are not fully good, but still sometimes necessary

Here's the thing about sickness: it's unfair, and it takes people away from you, not caring if they deserve it or not. And here's the thing about healing: it's needed, and there are so many versions of it it's almost impossible to know the exact number. Healing is something good. But you need something bad for it to work. You can't be healed from sickness if the sickness doesn't exist

And there are so many contradictions that come only w bring the god of the sun

The sun burns. It's deadly. Nothing can get close to it without burning to the ground, and being under its light for too long can literally give you cancer. But the sun is also warm. We need it to survive; we use its light to see, it inspires us to make art, its heat is the only reason we're still alive

Idk if I'm explaining myself very well, but I need Apollo (and the rest of the gods) to still be morally gray instead of suddenly becoming Good People. They need to become better. Not good. Just better
