Qualifiers (Challengers Rip-off) ft. Oikawa Tooru, Iwaizumi Hajime

pairing: Oikawa Tooru x reader x Iwaizumi Hajime
cw: explicit language
word count: 799
summary: Nicknamed as the [up-and-coming] queen of volleyball, you live the reputation of being undefeated in junior league competitions and recruitments from top universities, all while bearing the expectation of becoming the prodigy of Japan’s Women Volleyball. In come Aoba Johsai’s top players, Oikawa Tooru and Iwaizumi Hajime. Ever since watching you play during the preliminary qualifiers, they’ve been interested in getting to know you. And they do.
a/n: I watched Challengers a while back and kept imagining Oikawa and Iwaizumi. They may be a bit out-of-character. Also I have no concrete understanding of volleyball, and it's been a while since I've watched Haikyuu! This fic is pg-friendly until it isn't, I'm just following the script outline (a little bit.)
chapter one
INTERHIGH PRELIMINARY QUALIFIERS, MIYAGI — 2012
The sound of scuffling feet and loud grunts reverberated in the gym. Add on the loud chants coming from onlookers, Iwaizumi understood why some of his teammates wore earplugs during matches. It was the final match of the Spring Tournament Qualifiers; Niiyama Girls’ High vs. Toa Gakuen Girl’s team. And boy, was there any ever-present fan club for Niiyama’s volleyball team.
Practically the entirety of the front row was filled with gaggling boys in the Niiyama colors. He felt like a goose around all the ducks with his neutral colors. God, he hadn’t realized how hot the audience sections were during these competitions. Why was he even here?
“To support our girl’s team, duh.” Oikawa.
“Except our girl’s team lost, dumbass.”
Oikawa shrugs, and Iwaizumi swears he saw that slight smug grin of his. The one he wears when he finds a good rival. The one he wore against Karasuno.
“You look exactly like these red and white fanboys,” Iwaizumi fakes a shudder. “No way this girl even has you acting weird.”
A beat of silence passes between them, and Iwaizumi has to ask,
“Is she really that good?”
“She’s beautiful.”
“Her game?”
“Her body.”
“You’re a douche.”
“Check for yourself.” Oikawa laughs, slapping his arm.
Right on cue, the crowd around the two boys erupt into some practiced chant.
“Niiyama Girls!” Measured claps. “Run the world!” Measured claps.
In the corner of his eye, he catches the group of girls that the cheers were for. All he can do is lean forward, comedically on par with Oikawa. The girls truly are beautiful; tall, pretty figures, and there were definitely no butterfaces.
But you. You were on a different level. Maybe you stood out to him considering you were his type. Though that couldn’t be the only reason, after all, he and Oikawa never had the same type. He was only proven right when you wave towards his section. Like one of the fanboys jumped out of seat, screaming your name.
“You know there are rumors that she signed an offer with ASICS?” Oikawa’s voice interrupts. “Not really rumors, ASICS is literally hosting a party for her tonight.”
Iwaizumi can only roll his eyes. “The party is meant for all up-and-coming professional athletes.”
“Yeah,” Now it was Oikawa’s turn to roll his eyes. “Her.”
Down below, your team is stretching and starting warm-ups. It was only when the ball went past the net that he noticed the other team was there too. With how popular your team is, he felt a little bad for the girls in Toa Gakuen. It wasn’t even like they had an invisible personality, they literally made it to the preliminary finals. It was simply that your team, rather it seemed like you just… outshone everyone else.
“We got invited.” Oikawa’s cheery voice snaps him out of his trance.
“No, we didn’t.” He turns his body facing Oikawa. As far as Iwaizumi could remember, his coach never said anything. He swore there were no invites in his mailbox either. “What the fuck are you talking about?”
Oikawa has that weird fucking grin on his face. Like it can’t be described, but if he had to? It’s that really stupid grin that Oikawa copied off those foreign boys they’d seen at the Sendai Daikannon. Actually not much of a description, but it’s irrelevant at the moment.
With that grin still on his face, Oikawa whisper-shouts, “I got a cousin that put us on the list. Besides, our team made it to the finals, we deserve a little partying before we go against Shiratorizawa.”
This light brown, mocha-whipped-coffee hair, volleyball-obsessed loser just told Iwaizumi that they got added on the invite list for the ASICS sponsored Junior Athletes event. Sorry, this wasn’t mentioned before, the Junior Female Athletes event.
“Are you insane?”
“We can just pretend that we’re cousins to, uh,” Oikawa points towards one of the short, dark-haired girls, snapping his fingers. “Kanoka.”
“We?”
“Distant cousins,” Oikawa says hurriedly, waving him off. “You act like we’re gonna get persecuted, no one will give a damn.”
“Oikawa-” Iwaizumi starts, only to get brutally cut off by the announcer.
“Shhhh, the game is starting.”
Attention falls back on the teams below. Call it empathy or whatever, but Iwaizumi could understand the atmosphere of the moment. He’s felt that mixed cocktail of anxiety and overworked nerves before. He could tell that you got ahead of yourself though. The calm expression, the hyper focused eyes. You were wearing the same face that his team’s prized setter and leader wore before all their matches.
A scream exits out of one particular fanboy as a ball boy passes the volleyball to you.
“Don’t mess with the Queen of volleyball!”
Up goes the ball, down comes your hand.
The game was finally in play.

What Equipment to Use for Mining Bitcoin Profitably After the Halving?
In April 2024, the next Bitcoin halving took place. The reward for mining one block was reduced by 50% and is now 3.125 BTC. Due to this, some may begin to doubt mining — will this activity continue to bring in a decent income? Based on our extensive experience, we can confidently say that mining can and should remain profitable even after the halving. In this article, we will discuss how to organize Bitcoin mining most rationally and what equipment to choose for this.
Bitcoin Price Will Definitely Rise After the Halving
Since the launch of the first cryptocurrency, its halving has occurred approximately every four years. In 2024, this happened for the fifth time. Throughout all these years, the price of BTC, its market capitalization, and audience have steadily increased. The popularity of mining is also growing, and new technologies are being developed to increase its efficiency.
The person or team behind Bitcoin came up with halving to control inflation and maintain demand for the coin. Halving benefits Bitcoin and in no way deprives miners of their well-deserved reward. The rarer the asset, the higher its value — this rule works after each halving. That’s why starting mining right now is an excellent idea.
Three Secrets to Keep Mining Profitable
To make money mining BTC after its halving in 2024, you need to:
Buy or rent the latest generation equipment
Reduce expenses
Find a reliable hosting provider
Let’s take a closer look at all these points.
Today, one of the best ASICs for mining Bitcoin is the Antminer 21 series. It stands out for its high hashing power combined with relatively modest energy consumption. The Antminer 21 significantly outperforms miners of previous generations. The manufacturer of this series, Bitmain, is one of the most well-known in the industry. This is a reliable brand with a very strong team, extremely popular among crypto professionals.
To increase revenue, you can purchase multiple devices and combine them into a mining farm. However, this may require too high initial costs. Additionally, you will need to find a place to host the equipment. It not only consumes a lot of energy but also makes a lot of noise. To reduce the noise level, you can buy ASICs with a water cooling system — but they are more expensive than regular ones.
To cut costs, you can rent a miner instead of buying it. Remote providers can afford the most modern ASICs. You will be able to choose one or several machines with suitable characteristics. The provider will take care of the installation, maintenance, and repair of the equipment. Their staff has all the necessary knowledge and skills. Your involvement in mining will be minimal, and you will be able to receive truly passive income.
Another option is to try cloud mining, a more modern and accessible alternative. You will be renting not an ASIC but hashing power. First, you will purchase a contract on the most comfortable terms for you. After that, your task will be reduced to regularly transferring the commission to the provider — and they will take care of everything else. You will start receiving income on the rise in the price of Bitcoin. If you want to increase your profits, you can buy multiple contracts.
Each halving forces mining providers to rethink their strategies and optimize their activities. Some of those who cannot cope with these tasks close down. That’s why it’s important to check the provider’s history — the longer they have been in business, the better.
The second important parameter is customer reviews. It’s not a problem if some of them are negative — the main thing is that the majority are positive. The contract terms of a good provider are detailed and transparent. The support service is polite, informed, and responds promptly to customer inquiries.
ECOS meets all the criteria of a first-class provider for remote mining. This company is located in the free economic zone of Armenia, where cryptocurrencies are legal, and miners are exempt from taxes for 25 years. The Razdan power plant provides stable access to cheap energy. The security of the territory where the equipment is located is guaranteed by armed guards. The equipment downtime is close to zero. If an ASIC breaks down, it will be promptly repaired on-site, without wasting time sending it to the manufacturer’s service center.
ECOS clients can choose a cloud mining contract from existing options or create their own, individual one. The selection of equipment rental or purchase options is also very large. Clients appreciate ECOS for its transparent terms, reasonable prices, and quality service. This is an ideal provider for beginner miners who are just taking their first steps in the industry. Experienced miners note the exceptional reliability of ECOS, honesty, and timely payment of rewards.
ECOS Client Case
To confirm the above theory, let’s consider a real case of one of the ECOS clients. Let’s denote him by the nickname anto******duate.org.
Immediately after the previous halving in 2020, he bought an Antminer T17 for $699. The hashing speed of this miner was 38 terahashes per second. Four years ago, this model was considered advanced, one of the best on the market.
From November 25, 2020, to November 1, 2021, anto******duate.org earned 0.08026213 BTC with his Antminer T17, which in fiat currency amounted to $5,327. Hosting and miner maintenance costs were only $1,080. The client received a net profit of $3,548. Mining turned out to be a more profitable activity for him than buying bitcoins. If he had bought bitcoins, his profit would have been only $2,900.
To estimate your upcoming expenses and profits, you can use the calculator on the ECOS website. We hope that with the help of this tool, you will see that mining BTC can still be profitable even after the halving!

“Casual” is a slippery term, particularly in menswear. After all, when most of us wear jeans and sneakers to the office, is there really any distinction between our on and off-duty wardrobes? It’s complicated, too, by the fact that—with clothing as with dating—there’s really no fixed definition of what the word “casual” means: At differing times, it can refer to an item's fabrication, shape, color, or, least usefully, its vibe alone. But when it comes to footwear, at least, we can set some boundaries. So let’s be clear: This guide covers the best shoes for any occasion where you wouldn’t wear a pair of formal lace-ups. That probably includes your office, unless you work somewhere particularly old-school. It certainly includes your social life. And it’s likely to include a host of events throughout the year: dates, birthdays, dinners, bachelor parties, even visiting your grandma (unless she’s a particular stickler for smartness). If it sounds like a pretty wide-ranging spectrum, fear not—it can actually be boiled down to a few core groups. So that’s what we’ve done, to help you kit out a shoe rack that’s relaxed and adaptable enough for everyday life, but still doesn’t compromise on style, authenticity, quality, and comfort of course. And hey, if you end up wearing these to smarter events too, we’re not gonna stop you.The Best Men's Casual Shoes, According to GQIn This GuideAccordionItemContainerButtonClassic Casual ShoesThink of these as your A-Team: a trusted lineup of specialists you can depend on time and time again. As you might expect, this category is underpinned by a solid roster of sneakers. And broadly, they err on the side of simplicity: They’re classic because they work equally well with chinos, shorts, denim, and relaxed tailoring. Think Sambas, think Chucks, think New Balance—just don’t forget to keep them clean. That said, a few non-sneakers have muscled their way in here. A pair of Blundstones, for instance, has the same throw-on appeal and adaptability as a classic pair of sneakers, but will liven up every pair of blue jeans you own. And, of course, it’s worth considering a pair of Birkenstock Bostons, which have become a staple in the casual wardrobes of well-dressed guys everywhere for their breezy, easy, slipper-like shape.New BalanceMade in USA 993ConverseChuck Taylor All Star 70 High-topMoonstar x Buck MasonHerringbone Moonstar Deck ShoeBlundstoneClassic Chelsea BootBirkenstockBoston Soft ClogTrending Casual ShoesSo you’ve got the classics covered—or were never here for them to begin with. Now it’s time to throw in a few curveballs: design-led casual styles that will add a bit of oomph on days you don’t have to look quite so conventional. Still, we advise against too many bells and whistles, which can quickly look dated. Instead, look for modernised takes on technical styles – they’ll add a bit of character, without overwhelming everything else you’re wearing and veering into the dreaded territory of the ‘Statement Sneaker.’ Leading the pack here are French sportswear brand Salomon and Japanese label Asics, while venerable Grandparent-approved walking-shoe brand Mephisto has lately become a favourite of the menswear crowd, just as Prada’s Collapse sneakers have been a sensation among capital-F fashion folks. Wear these pairs with everything from cargo pants to shorts, but always with socks (and not the invisible kind).PradaCollapse Mixed Media Low Top SneakerTailored Casual ShoesMan cannot live on sneakers alone – for occasions that fall under the dreaded ‘smart-casual’ heading, you’ll need options that are of course relaxed, but still put-together enough to pair with tailoring. That means comfortable, low-fuss footwear with enough heft on the soles to prevent them from feeling too dainty. Like a pair of leather loafers, say, or a couple of lace-up options: a sprightlier pair in suede, like Clarks Wallabees, and a sturdier pair in black leather will see you through almost every event. To look more modern, consider an apron-front style, which has a raised panel around the shoe’s front section. Paraboot does them best, but brands like Mr. P offer them for a little less.G.H.BassWeejuns Larson Penny LoaferClarks OriginalsWallabee DerbysMr P.Jacques Pebble-Grain Leather Derby ShoesStudio NicholsonJackson ShoeDr. Martens1461 Mono Smooth Leather Oxford ShoesCOSChunky Leather Derby ShoesCasual BootsYes, you should have a roster of casual boots in your arsenal. For one, they look less dressy than severe black ones, so will look less jarring with casual fits. And you could carry them through to the weekend by subbing your tailored pants for a pair of neatly-cut jeans. The same is true of a boat shoe, provided it’s all in a single color – anything too contrasting will look overly casual.
