#Aang and Appa

Currently rewatching Avatar the last Airbender (animated version) and I’m absolutely sobbing over Appa getting kidnapped. Forgot how painful those episodes were, I cannot do this, that poor baby, how could anyone hurt him

I think the avatar world should be beyond grateful the Air Nomads were pacifists because I’m rewatching ATLA and I don’t think I ever realized how willing Appa is to throw down. There are a couple of times Aang or the Gaang is in trouble and Appa is just like “I don’t fucking think so.”

I don’t know, I’m just imagining a world if the Air Nomads were like any of the other three nations because the sky bison would’ve been absolutely terrifying to go up against.

Don’t get me wrong Appa is the best boy, nothing but a sweet, heavy cloud of love and snuggles – and yet I would never want to be one of his enemies.

That's a sky bison who was raised by air nomads and sky bison (who were also raised by air nomads) and also, he's Aang's specific bison. So, what would a sky bison have been like if they’d been trained for war and to fight?

Also, unrelated but I’m on Appa’s Lost Days and while I absolutely remember how upsetting and heartbreaking this episode was... that was just a memory. Watching Appa go through all of this is fucking cruel and hurts so much; LEAVE THE PRECIOUS BOY ALONE!!!

Imo, atla has a bittersweet ending

Aang is sitting alone and wearing the air nomads clothes, his culture clothes, a necklace similar to GYATSO's necklace. I can't even imagine the emptiness and sadness he was feeling here

There are no airbenders in the crowd

All nation gathered..... except the air nomads.

No one else in the crowd wearing orange or yellow.

Aang won the war, but his people are still gone.

Yes, he has the Gaang, he has Katara, he has Momo and Appa. But he's still the last airbender.

This is so heartbreaking.

Everyone talks about how Appa is apparently obese for a sky bison and Aang is over feeding him. Undeserved in my opinion (hes just big boned obviously)

But nobody talks about how Druk (Zuko's dragon) is a complete fatass compared to other dragons.

For example: These are pics of Roku's Dragon, Fang, and Sozin's Dragon

Do you see how long and noodley they are. They're actual dragons too, not Wyverns like GoT dragons. (Note the 4 legs)
