Summary

so much misogyny present in this drama as well. from the MIL talking about how women’s role is to stay at home cooking and having children to the cop believing the husband over ji won in addition to his verbal and physical abuse to the male manager at her work giving an opportunity to the “prettier” employee over her. i can’t wait to see kang ji won’s revenge against these truly awful people, it’ll be sweet

This is probably my favourite panel in the last few chapters of Rebirth tbh (yes, including the time/mirror aesthetics) just because of the impact.

You know that comic with the crows where one asks the other if they think they're friends in another universe and then you zoom out and see all these other timelines where they're always a part of each other's life? It's the complete opposite of that. So many different timelines and not a single one where his mother loved him.

The protag of the Sweet Home webtoon was such a real motherfucker because he was too depressed and pessimistic to feel moved by regular “your life matters! There are reasons to live for!” types of speeches but he stayed alive and his main and only reason was because the movie to his favorite piece of media hadn’t released yet and he couldn’t die without watching it

In the end he grows and develops as a person and finds other reasons to live but if he hadn’t been so obsessed with that piece of media that it kept him alive then he wouldn’t have been able to reach that point in his life so my point is

Be insane about your interests, let them be the reason you wake up every morning and let them be the reason why you change and grow because you will find that spark you think your life is missing

But you have to stay alive long enough for it to happen

Alright OK you convinced me to read orv. Hit me with the propaganda and all the how to for newbies.

HI here's my attempt at explaining it and someone else's massively better attempt at pitching it. it's like what if a relatively normalish? premise was a cover for a 551 chapter long epic thats also a psychological saw trap to make you experience every emotion in the world that also completely recontextualizes itself at the end. its a story about loving stories :) the novel is complete but fan translated to english which can make it a little hard to get started with (iirc they are releasing official english translations sometime soon?), so some people (including me) started with the webtoon which is currently adapting somewhere around chapter 160 of the novel :)
