Mori: “This? We were wearing this as soon as we arrived here. Everything changed. Like a protective color barrier.”

Verine: (Now that I think about it, even in my dream, I was wearing white clothes like this……)

Mori: “Look around, this whole place looks like it’s filled with snow entities. We have to protect ourselves here.”

Mori: “That’s why, tell me the real reason you came here, Mr. Verine.”

Mori: “You have to tell me your purpose so I can help you with all I can.”

Verine: “....Ampoule.”

Verine: “It’s because of the ampoule.”

Mori: “Ampoule?”

Verine: “I saw it in my dreams. If I went to the location of this coordinates, I could get an ampoule that will keep me out of cold forever.”

Verine: (Ugh, look at this. He acted like he was caring for me but after finding out it was simply because of ampoule, he immediately shows his true colors. Give me a break.)

Verine: “Seriously so insensitive.”

Mori: (The monster turned its head…!)

Verine: *cough cough cough*

Mori: “It’s coming, it’s coming, it’s coming.”

Snow monster: *roar*

Verine: *cough*

Mori: (!!Mr. Verine!!)

Snow Monster: “Who are you…I’ve never seen this face before…”

Mori: “Please, please, please…!”

Verine: “Oh, hello- *cough* we came from an ice cave in the far north.”

Verine: “We’re not here to harm you, just to ask for help….can you help us if you don’t mind?”

Mori: (No what the heck are you thinking reaching out to a literal monster?)

Snow Monster: “That….”

Mori: “He's still?”

Mori: “He grabbed his hands?”

Snow Monster: “You don’t look like a danger….good.”

Verine: “....Thanks, *cough cough*”

Mori: (Friends all of a sudden?)

Mori: (No wait..! Where is the monster he’s supposed to be?)

Verine: “...Then can you guide us the way to the ampoule?”

Snow Monster: “I understand. Follow me grr….”

Mori: “Mr. Verine, wouldn’t it be better if you tell me that you already saw this in your dreams?”

Mori: “Who knew there would be such a non-aggressive monster?”

Verine: “Just because there’s no aggression towards some people doesn’t mean it doesn’t hold any aggression at all *cough cough*”

Mori: “Hah, is this what they mean by monsters also discriminate?”

Mori: (Great. Since it has come to this, I have no choice but to make the monster join my side too. Cooking up such a one-dimensional monster is a piece of cake for this Mori.)

Mori: “Mr. monster? It seems fate has made us meet like this. So, let’s be close buddies from now on, okay?”

Everett: “Now, take this.”

Verine: “....You’ll give it to us this easily? Not even knowing who we are?”

Mori: (What are you doing, Mr. Verine? Don’t just touch a suspicious thing.)

Everett: “However, you look pretty tired. Where did you come from?”

Verine: *cough cough* “We came from an ice cave from far north….”

Everett: (Hmm, as far as I know, there’s no one there?)

Everett: “Ah, is Mr. Elliot okay there? I heard he was involved in an accident some time ago, I don’t know if he even recovered well. What kind of accident was it…”

Verine: “....accident…”

Mori: “Ah~~ Yes, now that you said it, we haven’t seen Mr. Elliot in a while. We’ll let you know about him as soon as we get back.”

What's afterl!fe? The characters look so cute and the artstyle is so pleasant to look at! I know you said it shut down, but I have to wonder, what it's about? Something to do with reapers? (I mean, I wouldn't mind if you started posting fic about the game because honestly, I'll read anything you write).

It was an otome game in which you play as the new manager for the 14th branch of Soul Reapers, all of them ranging in backgrounds, ages, and even species (Ell is an angel, and Quincy is a devil for example). There are different dorms, each housing four Soul Reapers. Mane (the Morning Team) consists of Ell, Jamie, Ghilley, and Licht. Die (the Day Team) consists of Theo, June, Louis, and Ethan. Hesperide (the Twilight Team) consists of Sian, Cyrille, Kati, and Noah. Noctu (the Night Team) consists of Nine, Day, Kirr, and Aitachi. Diluculo (the Dawn Team) consists of Youssef, Mori, Quincy, and Verine. As each team name suggests, it is the time at which they work!

Essentially, as the manager you're in charge of training and managing the Soul Reapers as they go about their daily work lives. All of them are dead and have past lives, and if I remember correctly they work to help guide vengeful spirits to the afterlife by sealing and purifying them within a kaleidoscope, hence The Sacred Kaleidoscope part of the game's title! :D I think they were also working towards reincarnation??? Although I might be wrong about that. I do know that when they came to the Reapers Department they all had a certain number of karma points which they had accumulated in their past life from various good and bad deeds.

You could send the Soul Reapers on cleaning shifts, read SNS posts, collect cards in the gacha, participate in limited time events, and read the card stories about various characters. There was also a feature where there were chat rooms for each dormitory and for each individual character, so you could chat with other players about your favorite dorm or characters! And aside from side stories and events, there was a main story!

It was a really fun game with lots of potential and many unique characters!!! Hopefully one day it will return, but until then I will hold the memory close in my heart. (ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ꕤ.ﾟ

It's a means to waste time, that you were sure of, when Mori had spent his free time actively seeking your company for the sole purpose of being a menace.

At first, it had been small quips. A passing comment about your clothes. A jab at your clumsiness. A retort on your performance. Mori chose you as a target to tease, feeling particularly pleased when he successfully gets under your skin.

Naturally, you stood your ground whenever it happened, treating it as banter, as irritating as it could get. But as the frequency increased with the program progress, the more real your mock irritation became.

Normally, you would have chosen to avoid him if your temper flared. The distance would have given you the time to cool down, and then carefully talk it out with him. Mori is irritating, but he is not a bad man.

But as the manager of 14th Department, it was your repsonsibility to oversee their affairs, to ensure there is no bad blood brewing beneath the surface. That meant you simply could not avoid Mori, with it was tied to your job to talk to him.

Hence, your irritation burning bright with every little comment directed your way.

He had caught you in a particularly bad mood today. The group with meeting with Noctu had been even more disasterous than the average day. Kirr and Aitachi had destroyed more property than usual during their training session. Your superiors are sure to pick up on this too, and prepare their own lecture for you.

So you don't quite hear what he says. You only see a nasty smirk on his face and you snap.

"Shut up," you snarl. "I'm getting really sick of your shit, Mori."

Mori doesn't immediately jump to his own defense like you had thought he would, but allows the silence to strech for a period longer than appropriate before he breaks it in the most unexpected way. "I'm sorry."

In your shock, you pull away from him. "What?"

"I'm sorry," he says again, voice more neutral than you've ever heard it. The usual wickedness he has is nowhere to be seen.

"I, it's..." You fight your instinct to dismiss his apology, to say it's okay, when it really isn't. He pulled and pulled until the string snapped. "Thank you," you manage to stutter out. You want to hide your hesitation, but it's hard to mask the raw confusion you feel. "I appreciate it."

He nods, then silently takes his leave, leaving you even more flustered than when he showed up.

It's hard to say anything about his character, especially when he plays tricks, but perhaps he isn't as bad as you initially thought.

Mori: 

Mori hides his worry for you behind a more relaxed persona, asking why you had run ahead the way you did when you knew how powerful the spirit was. He tries not to rag on you too much as he’s not trying to let on how much he cares about you or how truly terrified he was when he’d seen you in such terrible condition but even he’s not an impenetrable fortress. He makes you promise not to do something so foolish again or he’d be really mad at you, maybe even considering giving you the silent treatment for making him that scared. 

Sian: 

Sian is a little frantic when he sees the vengeful spirit rearing up for a powerful attack that you’re about to take the brunt of, quick to pull you out of the way before retaliating. He carefully checked you over for any wounds before letting out a deep sigh, lightly scolding you as he wanted you to pay a little more attention to your surroundings while you were in a dangerous space. But there’s a lot of relief now that the spirit has been handled and Sian gives you a reassuring hug, stating the two of you should probably get going before more enemies appeared.

Quincy: 

Quincy can’t seem to keep his cool when you’re the one in danger, his face instantly switching from confident to fearful when he sees you’re directly in the line of fire. He’s thankful his skills manage to keep you safe for another day but his feelings of frustration bubble up as he scolds you, telling you to not act stupid while on the job and that something awful could’ve happened had he not been there to help. The emotions he feels as his adrenaline goes down is intense and he keeps to himself (while still keeping an eye on you) for the rest of the mission, hating that they’d gotten the better of him.

        you had just woken up from the night's sleep, feeling refreshed. doing your usual morning routine, you get up. though, something feels off this time. something felt wet. turning around, you noticed the red splotch and marks on the bed sheets. not long after, pain comes crashing into just below your stomach.

        putting two and two together, you could make out what was happening. what you thought you had escaped from in your life as a human, has followed you over into your after life.

        soon, there's a knock at your door. trying to at least change into a new set of underwear and pants, the door opens and reveals the person from the other side.

• will offer to take you to the human world to get pads/tampons. as well as any medication (ibuprofen, tylenol)

• if you have mood swings, he will remain calm during them. if you become angry, and you need to rant out your anger, he will be there to listen to you.

• will offer a hug if you need it. maybe a kiss. depends on how needy you're feeling.

• helps with keeping the rest of the reapers in line. if you have a headache, he'll make sure the reapers aren't being too loud and will bring you some medication for your headache as well as a warm drink.

• makes sure your needs are met, to an extent though. he will make you a warm drink, help with work that nyang leader manager has given you, and give tummy rubs if needed.

• offers to clean your blood stained clothes, and sheets.

• probably into something sexual when it comes to periods, we may never know

• besides that, he'll point it out, to make sure yes in fact you are on your period

• offers the help for going to the human world, but don't trust him with pads/tampons.

• its not as if he's going to do something bad with them, its just how confused he'd be when it comes to size and brand.

• he may be a man of many (secret) talents but man is he lost when it comes to pads.

• medication? he'll try to find the ones you mentioned, may end up going to verine for the medication seeing as the reaper takes them all the time and might have the medicine you asked him to get.

• he's not big with sweet food/desserts, but will try to find something that he thinks would help your cravings

• hes got no idea what in the hell a period is.

• will think you're injured or killed someone in your sleep.

• have to explain what a period is.

• cue the shocked face he gets.

• good luck escaping his questions. he'll witch hunt you for you to answer his questions.

• insists he comes with you to the human world. and when he sees what the tampons/pads look like, he has more questions.

• "why does it look like that?" "does it hurt to put it in?" "how do you take it off?" "does it really absorb the blood?"

• will hug you if you need a hug, but he isn't your doll (his words) so be careful on how much touching you do with him.

• cue the mass coughing as his words get stuck in his throat, staring at the splotch

• he knows what it is, he isn't oblivious. he'd learn about it in school, since everyone does no matter what.

• offers to help change the sheets, or at least take them down to the washer so he could put them in it.

• is polite and patient, might not survive your mood swings though. however, he will be kind about it.

• he's used to being insulted by quincy as well as being yelled at by him, so he won't flinch much when you yell at him when one of those moods come

• has medicine ready for when you have cramps. as well as a drink on hand.

• he may not be good with sweets, but he'll try to talk to nine about making some of his chocolate chip cookies, because lets face it. nine's cookies would be *insert chef's kiss*

• a good person to go to when you need to rant about whatever is stressing, angering, or just bothering you in general.

• not the best with physical affection, but will give a hug or two if needed.

♣️ The very first kiss it catches him off guard. While he knew that his S/O planning something, Mori didn't expect the kiss. For split second, the shock is clear on his face but he reverts to his usual smile. He'll take their hands and press them against his lips. "Well, that was a pleasant surprise."

♣️ He is curious though-- why the sudden affection? Surely they wanted something from him. But to his surprise, they don't ask for anything. Just a small giggle and an occasional tease. "Gotcha, didn't I? I can't believe I outsmarted this mastermind." Although Mori isn't sure whether that was cute or insulting, it definitely sent a surge of warmth through his chest.

♣️ After a while, he gets better at guessing when his lover is about to pounce with their kisses. There are certain expressions and movements that they make, allowing him to figure it out. If he suspects that they're about to make a move, Mori will plant a kiss first (and it won't be a small one). However, there are times where his lover manages to get him in surprise. And those surprise kisses are the best of them all.

♣️ However, Mori had to one-up them. They were getting really good at surprising him and Mori couldn't let them get away with that. So he'll plan an elaborate scheme where he gives them a surprise kiss. But unlike his lover's soft kiss out in the open, his passionate kiss is tucked in their pillows-- waiting to be uncovered.

🎤 When his lover plants their first surprise kiss on his forehead, Sian nearly turns into a puddle. His cheeks are bright red and you can hear his heart pounding in his chest. He averts his gaze, not able to look his lover in the eyes. After all, he was very new to this sort of thing-- he's both embarassed and confused. "W-w-what was that for?"

🎤 He's going to be flustered by this surprise for quite a while. If his lover pops from behind for their surprise kiss, a startled Sian is literally going to jump out the roof. Once he realizes that it's just his S/O, he'll try to play off and start scolding them for creeping up on him. But he'll stop in the middle and let out a sigh, feeling glad (that he had someone who loved him so much) and stupid (that he screamed so loud in front of his lover for the 50th time).

🎤 After some time, he gets used to the sudden display of affection. Whenever his lover gives him a surprise kiss, Sian gives less attitude and more love. If he's feeling bold, he'll return the favor tenfold. And if he's feeling embarassed, he'll blink in surprise and mumble something sweet under his breath. But in both cases, he holds his hand against the spot that his lover had kissed, wearing a sheepish grin.

🎤 Although Sian doesn't always say it, his lover's surprise kisses are part of the highlights in his day. Whenever he's sad or upset, a quick peck on the cheek from his lover is an instant mood-lifter. While it doesn't solve his problem, it reminds him that he's never alone because his lover always has his back.

🧪 Congratulations, you've officially broken Cyrille! You can see the smoke pouring from his ears. His eyes are blank and his entire face is now a tomato. Since he's overheated, he stutters for his laggy responses. His lover might have to poke him a few times to see whether if he's alright. Once he snaps out of it, he'll give some scientific explanation to justify his sudden malfunction. Of course no one believes him, but there's no need to beat a dead horse.

🧪 He'll dwell on the sentiment for quite some time. Although humans aren't rational, Cyrille will attempt to rationalize his lover's cheeky little habit. Was there a specific timing that triggered their affection? He'll come up with a bunch of theories that are all supported by science and logic, but completely fly out the window when his S/O strikes with their second kiss.

🧪 However, Cyrille get used to the surprise kisses. Everytime he gets one, he pops a scientific fact about the biology and psychology behind kissing. While the factoid is interesting, he ends up going down an endless rabbit hole. Although it might sound strange when he babbles about serotonin, just know that's his way of saying that his lover makes him extra happy.

🧪 The best time to give Cyrille these surprises kisses is when he's struggling in his own thoughts. For someone whose brain is constantly preoccupied with every detail in the world, he needs someone to pull him out from his thoughts. And that little kiss is just enough to bring him back to reality, especially when its delivered with some extra love.

So, the reaper department is having quite a chaotic day (and I mean a little more than normal of course) , and the manager had had an especially horrid time dealing with those crackheads. I mean just thinking back on it,

Theo spraying Quincy in the eye with disinfectant spray for atleast a minute, I mean he low-key had it coming, how could you even attempt to mess with his yandere side? (The down low is so June had found this caterpillar in the garden, he named is Sir Winkleton btw, who was very colorful and he wanted to "show his brothers this glorious wonder of the world". He went to Theo first and he thought it was quite unsanitary and nasty, but he gave him an encouraging smile because that's his best fren. So then June came around to Quincy and was like, "look at my new pet!" And Quincy screamed at the top of his lungs and slapped it out of June's hand with a DISGUSTANG! Now that brought tears to June's eyes, SIR WINKLETON WAS HIS SON, HIS PRIDE AND JOY, AND NOW HE WAS JUST DED ON THE FLOOR! Quincy still wasn't satisfied and yelled, "nasty insect" Now Theo couldn't just ignore his favorite person in the world's suffering, and waltzed up beside Quincy, his eyes empty eyes which bore deep into the depths of Quincy's soul, nothing could match the agony of watching his best fren's pain ridden tears. "Did someone say disinfectant?" Then Theo sprayed disinfectant in Quincy's eyes for atleast a minute. No one messes with Theo or those he cares about. Theo and June held a funeral which over half of the reapers showed up due to not being able to turn down June's woeful face. It took Quincy AND Verine atleast an hour to wash it out and stop the burning, honestly poor Verine lmao.)

Kati almost burning the whole entire department down. (He was attempting to make something, you couldn't tell by the charred remains, maybe ramen? But he left to go bite Noah who had offered assistance, and came back to a steam filled kitchen and the fire alarm blaring. The first one to reach the kitchen happened to be Ell, who was like "I'll use an enchantment to quench it!" Which, as you know, they tend to fail, so the two who were about to enter, Day and Sian, were drenched, causing Sian to flee in mental breakdown. Day was confused but saw flames rising up, and in his, entirely flawed and completely illogical, logic catapulted himself directly at the fire, cause he was water? Who knows, but he got set on fire and somehow the manager was able to stop the situation before it escalated to horrible measures, like death or arson, maybe??)

Mori successfully being a con artist and conning Louis, with yet another neverending scheme. (Even the manager couldn't figure out what he had done this time, sigh)

Kirr setting up, yet another, trap to specifically catch deer (he dislikes them the most?. And Verine just so happened to stumble into one, he wasn't exactly in to where it would actually stab him, the sharp claws were only barely touching his leg, since he was so skinny, so he couldn't move or he would be stabbed. Which this situation was actually pretty ironic, cause Day passed by and was like, "Hey, Bambi, you alright?" But Bambi is a deer so I mean Kirr kinda got what he wanted right? After being set free, Verine was so shocked he kinda just, fainted, so Youssef reluctantly dragged him back to the Diluculo dorms.

And sadly many many more chaotic events.

So yeah, everyone gathered for dinner to discuss their trip to an engineering facility spoken to have a vengeful spirit lurking. After they spoke of their plans, a weary and down looking manager sighed,

"I would just kinda like some alone time tonight guys, be sure to pack your stuff." And she walked off slowly back to her designated corners. But when she turned the corner her exhausted attitude had faded away and all that was left was excitement, as she sauntered away.

Everyone was quite worried at that, their optimistic manager so low?! So, about an hour later everyone agreed to have Theo check up on her, so he knocked on her door. No answer. He decided to just open the door and say,

"Manager? You see, I just came to see if you were doing alri--" Only to find her goofily laughing, she screeched, not noticing him there,

"EX CA USE ME, GALA BUT ATLEAST I DON'T LOOK LIKE A HIK, OK?! HOW DARE YOU INSULT MY FASHION SENSE!" Her Wii remote was pointed directly at the screen, and she was talking to an animated pig, who, low-key did look kinda like a hik. She was playing Animal Crossing, and no, I don't me acnh, I mean the OG City Folk, yeah, she's that old. But for modern days sake we'll say she's playing it on a Wii-U. Theo caught her with her Wii remote in hand and reaching for some gummy bears, when she sensed a presence she looked around and her face turned to one that someone would wear if they just got caught snorting a bag of cocaine or something lmao.

Theo walked back to tell everyone dejectledly that she was perfectly fine. Maybe he should buy her some gummy bears for her birthday?

I don't know where this even took a turn to, but Animal Crossing City Folk was my childhood, and me as a manager would totally do that.

omg cuz no i used to be obsessed with afterl!fe . i LOVED theo and verine (also noah <3) you can bet i SOBBED when the servers shut down. i still dont know why tho and im also really sad that there isnt more fan-produced content to compensate for how much i miss the game </3

Afterl!fe was the reason I began my blog! I’m still so sad it shut down and that there isn’t more fan works created for it. T^T and the termination letters that all the boys wrote to us. Those were so heartbreaking!! I wish they would have given us an explanation as to why it happened, but many theorized it was because they weren’t making enough money. Either way, I will forever miss my beloved soul reapers.

Aaaa you have good taste!!! I loved Theo omg!!!! The fish scene with Cyrille when he’s like, “Do you like fish? :)” and then proceeds to smash the fish into visceral shreds and then go, “oh, oops! I must not have did it correctly because it’s my first time.” THAT HAD ME SO :O !!!! Meanwhile, Cyrille is horrified LOL. Or that time when Nine was playing the piano with the manager and he was thinking, Only I should be allowed to play for the manager. AAAAAAA I LOVED HIM SO MUCH… truthfully, the Genshin fic “Click” was actually intended to be a yandere Theo fic. I had half of it written with Theo and the other characters who played roles in it (Sian, Day, Mori, Quincy, Verine), but I could never finish it and I didn’t want to just abandon the idea. So it became the Genshin yandere who did it? fic you see on my blog today! :D

AND VERINE OMG!!!!! VERINE MY MOST BELOVED AAAAAAA!!! He was so cute. I also had a yandere fic planned for him in which he was a sickly Victorian man living in solitude amongst the flowers in his greenhouse when he spies a kind noble lady from the window and proceeds to fall in love. <3

And Noah… he was so !!!! Looking so very disrespectfully. 🫣 I don’t remember too much about his story, but I think he wanted to become a police officer in his next life. Either way, Noah was so handsome and sweet and I like him a lot.

I also really liked Ell! His energy and optimism was really infectious. He was such a sweetheart. (*´꒳`*) I still have these screenshots of when you pick him and then when he introduces us to SNS:

You’re likely to fall for him before Mori even considers having you as a romantic partner which is no fault of your own. He seemed to keep his cards close to his chest and his heart was behind a tall wall, one that could only be scaled with patience and good timing. Becoming friends first is a must but even that appears suspicious to him, wondering exactly what you want out of him and being caught completely off-guard if you were to confess you had romantic feelings for him.

Mori doesn’t tend to use nicknames as he tries to keep your relationship under wraps in the first place, not wanting anyone to have some type of advantage over him just for knowing he had feelings for you. But in private the nicknames he uses tend to be more traditional, referring to you as his beautiful angel or his partner in crime depending on how often you help him in his antics.

He’ll fondly refer to you as his doll, his love, sometimes he might slip in sweetheart if he’s trying to end an argument.
