I feel the relationship between Traumatized Parts and Skill at Project Diva is such an insanely strong correlation /hj
Me: Imma let my brain reward itself by clearing all the not done challenge levels of Ai Dee since it helped the anxious parts of my brain get through the day, Imma sit back and just play it for a bit
Me, breezing through Extreme level: holy shit what the FUCK do you mean we are actually processing these inputs
Like we almost cleared it first try sight reading it
What do you MEAN you can process 2:00 with ANY level of accuracy
I really dont think our systems wide differential of skill on Project Diva in specific is ever going to not be astonishing
(not us but the song and beat map for reference)

Aidee's Anticipated Books of 2024
This list is late, which is entirely my fault. The end of 2023 felt like it snuck up on me, and I’m terrible at looking for new books when I actively have to go and find them. Also, there is not a lot of romance on this list, but I am definitely looking forward to romance novels. The theme this year seems to be reading a lot of authors I’m familiar with. You’ll notice books by my favorite…

He Has Done Me Well (Live) - Dr. Kayode Ijisesan Ft. Various Artistes
Senior Pastor of Kingsword Ministry International, Dr. Kayode Ijisesan, fondly called Dr. Kay comes with the word of God in lyrics and rhythm in this new single titled “You Have Done Me Well (Live).” The song is a cover of the original song by Solomon Lange. According to Dr. Kay, the inspiration behind the song “He Has Done Me Well (Live)” is centered around our redemption realities based on the…

What are your thoughts on The Count of Monte Cristo? I always felt a bit uncomfortable with the way Dumas portrays the female characters in it and how a young, virginal girl becomes the Count's 'trophy' so to say while his ex-fiance, who didn't know what had happened to him ended up a ruined widow.
So my contact with it was first trough the 2001 Jim Caviezel movie where Aidee was cut off entirely, Albert was made Dantee's bio son and Mercedes reconciled with Dantee who she always considered her greatest love (having only married Mondego because she was pregnant), and a shorter book adaptation for children, I am intrigued by someday reading the original longer edition of Dumas's text for I heard it has two lesbian side characters with a happy ending that often get cut from adaptations.
That said, I enjoy Count as a story, mainly because it restrained real characters like Napoleon to background context while the fiction of Dantee and the people surrounding him is the forefront, avoiding the usual exagerated fiction about real people the author was known for and being an interesting tale of how revenge can make a once formerly good person no better than those who wronged him because the revenge afects other people who weren't involved in the conspiracy.
Also honestly, when it comes to women being poorly treated, I was usually more bothered with adaptations of the Dartagnan books that made Queen Anne of Austria cheat on her husband and her sons born from affairs, because it was not something from the the novels and also no resource points to that happening in real life, being more likely that she was just having difficulty and taking longer to get pregnant because she was too young when she got married (at age 15) and children and teens are just not well equiped phisically or emotionally to carry a pregnancy to full term compared to an adult.

1952 Vincent Black Lightening Richard Thompson
youtube
Says Red Molly, to James, "Well that's a fine motorbike. A girl could feel special on any such like." Says James, to Red Molly, "My hat's off to you. It's a Vincent Black Lightning, 1952.
And I've seen you on the corners and cafes, it seems. Red hair and black leather, my favorite color scheme." And he pulled her on behind, And down to Boxhill,
They'd Ride. Says James, to Red Molly, "Here's a ring for your right hand. But I'll tell you in earnest I'm a dangerous man; For I've fought with the law since I was seventeen.
I've robbed many a man to get my Vincent machine. And now I'm twenty-one years, I might make twenty-two. And I don't mind dyin' but for the love of you. But if fate should break my stride, then I'll give you my Vincent, To Ride."
"Come down Red Molly, " called Sargent McQuade. "For they've taken young James Aidee for Armed Robbery. Shotgun blast hit his chest, left nothing inside. Oh, come down, Red Molly, to his dying bedside."
When she came to the hospital, there wasn't much left. He was runnin' out of road. He was runnin' out of breath. But he smiled, to see her cry. And said, "I'll give you my Vincent. To Ride."
Said James, "In my opinion, there's nothing in this world Beats a '52 Vincent and a Redheaded girl. Now Nortons and Indians and Greavses won't do. Oh, they don't have a Soul like a Vincent '52."
Well he reached for her hand and he slipped her the keys. He said, "I've got no further use...for these. I see Angels on Ariels in leather and chrome, Swoopin' down from Heaven to carry me home."
And he gave her one last kiss and died. And he gave her his Vincent. To Ride.
yo, @goneahead 10/11/23 (note "Ariel" in the penultimate stanza is another British motorcycle marque like Vincent, Norton, Greeves mentioned earlier. And Indian in this song likely refers to the Indians made with Royal Enfield engines in the 1950s)

11 & 17 for the reading ask game! I'm hoping for book recs :)
11. What was your favorite book that has been out for a while, but you just now read?
Man, I read so many books this year, and many of them have been out for a while. I guess it depends on how we're defining 'a while!' My favorite classic book I read (when does a book become a classic? Are books that came out in the 90s classics now?) was The Charioteer by Mary Renault. It was published in...I want to say 1952 in the UK? Just a beautiful book. One of those where I'd come upon a particularly gorgeous line and have to stare into the middle distance to let it settle. I actually made a list of all my favorite lines, which I really should post.
For more recent books that have been out awhile, I'm torn between Champion of the Scarlet Wolf by Ginn Hale (2014) or The Bedlam Stacks by Natasha Pulley (2017). With both authors, I can't recommend them enough. Literally everything they've ever written. You can't go wrong.
17. Did any books surprise you with how good they were?
Tons of books surprise me with how good they are, so I'm trying to judge where the disparity was highest. Like, I never expected to love Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh enough to write fic for it, but I did expect to enjoy it. There was The Guncle by Steven Rowley, which I only bought because I'd been seeing it in bookstores for a few years, and I wanted to support an indie bookstore on Indie Bookstore Day—but it ended up being a 5 star read for me. After Francesco by Brian Malloy is another literary fiction that I didn't expect to love, but did. Pack of Lies by Charlie Adhara really took me by surprise with how wonderful it is (I can't wait for the sequel). The Klockwerk Kraken by Aidee Ladnier deserves a mention—that was one where I already expected to enjoy it, but I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of the characters and story.
Thanks for asking!
