2023 is dan toch echt bijna voorbij..en wat een geweldig jaar was dit!

Afgelopen maart kregen we de vraag of we de lady Glamorous verkiezing in Tilburg nieuw leven wilde inblazen. We zijn keihard aan de slag gegaan met een nieuwe en andere, bredere opzet..en hier gaven we jullie tijdens de lancering een kleine sneakpeak van tijdens koningsdag met: Royal & Dutch in het stadhuisstraat te Tilburg NL, mede mogelijk gemaakt door cafe Peanuts en de ondernemers van de stadhuisstraat. Hier streden enkele kandidaten om een prijzenpakket, de titel Royal Dutch Stadhuisstraat 2023 en directe plaatsing in de halve finale van Noord Brabants Dazzling Dragartist 2023..deze winst ging naar: Lyra Gold maar de jury was onder de indruk van de creativiteit en orginaliteit van Aileen Abduction dat die een wildcard voor diezelfde halve finale in de wacht sleepte.

En daarna gingen we ons langzaam opmaken en voorbereiden voor een aantal geweldige evenementen zoals de internationale redheaddays te Tilburg NL en de 1e editie van de international redhaired Stilettorun aldaar..en wat was dat een super event...maar langzaam werd het augustus en september en toen was het tijd voor de 1e editie van dazzling Dragartist met als thema: Dazzling Superheroes. Hier waren we welkom bij Flamingoos Breda...en ondanks dat de makeup & kandidaten het moeilijk hadden vanwege de 35°c was het niveau enorm hoog & mochten we Daisy h. Doo en Kasia Hyper kronen als onze 1e Noord Brabants Dazzling Dragartist en 1st runner-up EN ging de kroon voor Noord Brabants Miss Congeniality naar Princess Pixie natuurlijk met bijbehorende prijzen.

Maar we zijn enorm trots op al onze kandidaten!

Some environmental protesters are earning salaries from new nonprofit groups that believe taking it to the streets is more important than ever.

They’ve taken hammers to gas pumps and glued themselves to museum masterpieces and busy roadways. They’ve chained themselves to banks, rushed onto a Grand Prix racetrack and tethered themselves to goal posts as tens of thousands of British soccer fans jeered.

The activists who undertook these worldwide acts of disruption during the last year said that they were desperate to convey the urgency of the climate crisis and that the most effective way to do so was in public, blockading oil terminals and upsetting normal activities.

They also share a surprising financial lifeline: heirs to two American families that became fabulously rich from oil.

Two relatively new nonprofit organizations, which the oil scions helped found, are funding dozens of protest groups dedicated to interrupting business as usual through civil disobedience, mostly in the United States, Canada and Europe. While volunteers with established environmental groups like Greenpeace International have long used disruptive tactics to call attention to ecological threats, the new organizations are funding grass-roots activists.

The California-based Climate Emergency Fund was founded in 2019 on the ethos that civil resistance is integral to achieving the rapid widespread social and political changes needed to tackle the climate crisis.

Margaret Klein Salamon, the fund’s executive director, pointed to social movements of the past — suffragists, civil rights and gay rights activists — that achieved success after protesters took nonviolent demonstrations to the streets.

“Action moves public opinion and what the media covers, and moves the realm of what’s politically possible,” Ms. Salamon said. “The normal systems have failed. It’s time for every person to realize that we need to take this on.”

So far, the fund has given away just over $7 million, with the goal of pushing society into emergency mode, she said. Even though the United States is on the cusp of enacting historic climate legislation, the bill allows more oil and gas expansion, which scientists say needs to stop immediately to avert planetary catastrophe.

Sharing these goals with the Climate Emergency Fund is the Equation Campaign. Founded in 2020, it provides financial support and legal defense to people living near pipelines and refineries who are trying to stop fossil fuel expansion, through methods including civil disobedience.

Strikingly, both organizations are backed by oil-fortune families whose descendants feel a responsibility to reverse the harms done by fossil fuels. Aileen Getty, whose grandfather created Getty Oil, helped found the Climate Emergency Fund and has given it $1 million so far. The Equation Campaign started in 2020 with $30 million from two members of the Rockefeller family, Rebecca Rockefeller Lambert and Peter Gill Case. John D. Rockefeller founded Standard Oil in 1870 and became the country’s first billionaire.

“It’s time to put the genie back in the bottle,” Mr. Case wrote in an email. “I feel a moral obligation to do my part. Wouldn’t you?”

Belief in the transformative power of extreme civil disobedience is not universal, and some actions by the groups, particularly those backed by the Climate Emergency Fund, have irritated the public.

Wind power. Contentious plans to build a wind farm off the coast of Catalonia, a part of Spain that is still highly dependent on fossil fuels, would generate urgently needed renewable energy. But critics are pushing back against the plan, saying it would fundamentally alter the character of a region that has changed little since the 20th century.

Protesters have been screamed at, threatened, labeled eco-zealots and dragged off by angry commuters. Research from the University of Toronto and Stanford University also found that while more disruptive protests attracted publicity, they could undermine a movement’s credibility and alienate potential support.

But Ms. Salamon and activists backed by the Climate Emergency Fund said pushback was inevitable. They pointed to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who, according to a Gallup Poll, had a 63 percent disapproval rating in the years leading up to his death.

“We’re not trying to be popular,” said Zain Haq, a co-founder of the Canadian group Save Old Growth, which blocks roads to thwart the logging of ancient forests in British Columbia and received $170,000 from the Climate Emergency Fund. “Civil disobedience historically is about challenging a way of life.”

There is some evidence that newer climate protest groups have gotten traction. Researchers found that Extinction Rebellion and the Sunrise Movement had played an outsize role in increasing awareness and driving climate policy. In terms of cost effectiveness, the protest groups often bested traditional “Big Green” nonprofit environmental groups in helping drive down greenhouse gas emissions, according to the findings.

For the Equation Campaign, stopping further oil and gas expansion has a quantifiable impact. The cancellation of an extension of the Keystone XL oil pipeline, following years of resistance from tribes, farmers and local ranchers, prevented the release of as much as 180 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions a year, by one estimate. The Equation Campaign is funding campaigns against a host of other fossil fuel projects and helps activists who are often targeted with what the group’s executive director, Katie Redford, described as exaggerated charges and false arrests.

“For the climate and literally for humanity to win, we need them to win, and to stop the industry from building more stuff that puts greenhouse gases into the environment,” Ms. Redford said.

Climate activists receive far less funding than major environmental groups, particularly from philanthropic interests, which give just a fraction of their spending for climate issues worldwide. According to the ClimateWorks Foundation, less than 2 percent of global philanthropy funds in 2020 went to mitigating climate change (though its share is growing), a sliver of which was dedicated to grass-roots activity and movement building.

Both Ms. Redford and Ms. Salamon said their groups had financed only legal activities, such as training, education, travel and printing and recruitment costs. Grant recipients must confirm that the money has not been spent on activities prohibited by law.

They also contested any suggestion that paying activists made their actions less authentic, noting that recipients had already been working around the clock as volunteers, often draining their bank accounts in the process. “This is their passion,” Ms. Salamon said.

“It’s not fair to continue to ask Indigenous people, Black, brown and poor people who live on the front lines to do this work for free simply because they have been doing it in their ‘spare time,’” Ms. Redford said.

Activists on the receiving end described the money as a godsend. Some had dropped out of classes to devote themselves to full-time climate activism, driven by a sense of urgency and moral duty. Others juggled several jobs to pay the bills.

Miranda Whelehan, of the British group Just Stop Oil, said members had been overworked and stressed until the Climate Emergency Fund gave them close to $1 million and helped cover salaries for 40 organizers and activists.

“Obviously, you can only do so much as volunteers,” Ms. Whelehan said. “Huge oil companies have millions, if not billions.”

Over and over, the activists said that they didn’t want to engage in civil disobedience but that more traditional efforts had yet to stave off widespread climate disaster. “We’ve tried everything else,” said Louis McKechnie, a Just Stop Oil member who has been arrested about 20 times.

Winona LaDuke, the executive director of the Native environmental nonprofit group Honor the Earth, said her organization had spent seven years fighting the Line 3 pipeline in Minnesota, attending every regulatory meeting and hearing, and for naught.

She said she had been arrested and charged with trespassing despite being on public property and was endlessly grateful that the Equation Campaign, which has given her group more than $400,000, had held firm in its support.

“We put our bodies on the line because we had no other legal recourse — we had nothing,” Ms. LaDuke said. “We knew we were going to get arrested.”

For some activists, civil disobedience has proved to be unexpectedly gratifying.

Peter Kalmus, a climate scientist who works for NASA, said he had spent 16 years trying to compel corporate executives, government leaders and the public to act on the climate emergency. Ultimately, he concluded that he and the environmental movement were losing badly.

In April, Mr. Kalmus was one of roughly 1,000 scientists in 25 countries who blocked traffic and chained themselves to, among other targets, the gates of the White House and doors of bank branches as part of the Scientist Rebellion. The participants weren’t paid, but the group received $100,000 from the Climate Emergency Fund for organizer and consultant wages, space rental and travel costs.

Afterward, Dr. Kalmus — who noted he was not speaking for NASA — said feedback had poured in from around the world saying that he had made a difference and had left people inspired.

“I get messages every day from people who said it had given them hope,” Dr. Kalmus said. “It seemed to communicate that urgency far more than anything else.”

For others, protesting has come at a personal cost. Mr. McKechnie said he had been kicked out of Bournemouth University because of his climate activism. In March, he embarked on perhaps his most public action yet, using a zip tie threaded with metal to tether himself to a goal post during a Premiere League football match. He said he had felt the “hate and menace” of everyone in the crowd and had been kicked and lunged at as he was being escorted out. Mr. McKechnie was arrested, and he said he had received so many death threats that he had deleted his social media accounts.

But he was also unmoved in his resolve. “Even if 1 percent of the crowd looked up who we are and what we’re doing, it would’ve been a massive win,” he said.

Not long afterward, Mr. McKechnie was at a Just Stop Oil meeting, where everyone in attendance was asked what had brought them there. One fellow raised his hand, Mr. McKechnie said, and “he said, ‘Well, I was at a football game, and a wanker locked himself to the pitch.’”

“I hate having to do any of this,” Mr. McKechnie continued. “But the only way to get them to listen and to protect the future of my own generation is to make an annoyance so loud that even with their heads buried in the sand, it will drown it out.”

Mr. Case said that it was too early to tell whether the Equation Campaign had achieved its aims but that he and Ms. Lambert were committed to spending “at a high rate” until 2030.

The next few years are crucial. Climate scientists say nations must cut greenhouse gas emissions by about 50 percent by the end of this decade to avoid the most severe effects of a warming planet.

In an email, Ms. Getty said her belief in the effectiveness of activism was unshaken, especially with time running out. Civil disobedience was meant to serve as an alarm, she said, and discomfort caused by disruptive protests paled in comparison to what might well lie in store.

“Let’s not forget that we’re talking about extinction,” Ms. Getty wrote in an email. “Don’t we have a responsibility to take every means of trying to protect life on Earth?”

Gestern hat das mit tumblr nicht geklappt also gibt's heute einen Doppel-Eintrag.

Wir sind von unserer Pension "Uncle Toms Canin" die lokalen Kriegsdenkmäler in Bulgarien angefahren. Die Straßen dorthin waren königlich.

Leider stand das zweite Denkmal in dichten Nebel.

Farkrad hat mich unterdessen gefragt ob ich nicht schon genug Poserbilder von meiner Aileen hab... Davon kann man nie genug haben!

Gegen Mittag haben wir uns vor einem Wolkenbruch in ein Straßencafé verkrochen.

Dann ging es über so schlechte Straßen weiter das uns sogar ein Bulgare gefragt hat wie lange das noch so weiter ginge....

Als ich irgendwann kurz vorm ausrasten war haben wir bei der dritten Pension doch endlich Glück gehabt.

Die Pension lässt sich wirklich als kleine Idylle mitten in der Stadt Panagjurischte bezeichnen.

Das hausgemachte essen und die Ruhe dort waren genau richtig zum Kraft tanken.

Heute ging es über wundervolle Straßen weiter ins bulgarische Hochgebirge.

Dabei waren wir endlich mal verschont von Schlaglöchern und könnten das Kurvengeschwurbel richtig genießen.

Als die Kurven dann die Konzentration aufgebraucht hatten beschloss Farkrad einen VW Bus zu streifen....

Oder besser gesagt am Fahrrad welches auf dem Heckträger befestigt war hängen zu bleiben.

Dar Typ hat nen Schutzengel... Das hätte richtig böse enden können....

Zum Glück war der Fahrer des VW selbst auch Motorradfahrer und einfach nur glücklich das nicht mehr passiert ist. Wir haben uns also mit ihm auf eine Entschädigung geeinigt und durften unserer Wege ziehen....

Hier sieht man wo das Rad vom Fahrrad am Koffer entlang geschrabbt ist....

Nach dem Schock haben wir etwas mehr Pausen gemacht als sonst.

Bei einer der Pausen haben wir eine antike Waschmaschine entdeckt.

Aus Planungsgründen haben wir ab 17:00 Uhr noch ein paar Autobahnkilometer abgespult bis wir in der Nähe von Sofia im Hotel Elite eingecheckt haben.

Greta Thunberg - Her Privilege Makes Her Blind To Her Own Manufacturing

This is what privilege looks like - 'Only people like me dare ask tough questions on climate’. Only the affluent upper middle classes could possible engineer a quote quite this stupid.

She’s not the only type of person to do this. She’s not the only person with a disability, autism or Asperger’s to speak up. She’s playing on the fact that she’s on the spectrum. Many people have spoken up before she did. Some of them from working class and ethnic backgrounds. She literally can’t see that her privilege, affluence and her parents connections have made this happen for her.  As Cory Morningstar has pointed out, Greta Thunberg’s mum was a WWF Hero of the Year in 2017; she does adverts for Greenpeace and moves in those circles. When the 15 year old created her Twitter account in 2018, after her mother, the next accounts she followed were Greenpeace Sweden, Greenpeace International, Greenpeace UK, Friends of the Earth International and Friends of the Earth USA. A little further down the list we find Bill McKibben, 350.org, fellow speakers who would join her at XR’s Declaration of Rebellion (months later on October 31st): George Monbiot and Rupert Read and soon after that We Don’t Have Time, an NGO that would play a crucial role, as well as This Is Zero Hour, their founder, Jamie Margolin and the main account for Extinction Rebellion. Morningstar also cites Callum Grieve, a former Communications Director at The Climate Group and We Mean Business, who now works for Mission 2020, as a key architect of her manufacturing. Grieve also assisted Thunberg; on the first day of her protest he was the third person to respond on that platform. He’s not a huge Twitter influencer though, as he doesn’t have so many followers there.

This 17 year old is still being used; but nows seem to enjoy the limelight so much, that they’ve made a film. Her mum is an opera singer, her dad an actor, she was propelled from her first protest to global superstar within weeks. On the day of her first protest, on August 20th, 2018, she was approached by We Don’t Have Time’s Ingmar Rentzhog who ‘discovered’ her and she was soon a major story, appearing on the front page of Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet the same day. Rentzhog had met Greta Thunberg’s mother at a climate event in May 2018, shortly before Greta’s Twitter account was set up. On September 1st, Greta Thunberg was featured in her first Guardian column. It’s worth noting that the Aftonbladet account was followed after those mentioned in the previous paragraph, which suggests she was looking to the global stage before the Swedish national stage.

Talk of her “'zero-carbon yacht” in this article is nonsense. There is no such thing. Manufacture of it has embodied energy, besides which, how many of us can afford a transatlantic yacht for those times when we want to sail to the USA to lobby the climate capitalists in that country? The same narrative was peddled when she made her way from Sweden to London by electric car for XR’s Declaration of Rebellion on October 31st, 2018 (I was there that day). What was wrong with using public transport? Surely that would have conveyed a much more sustainable message? 

Climate change isn’t the only crisis we face; people have been trying to defend nature from the onslaught of extractive capitalism for a long time; again many of them were poor or Indigenous people, so their narratives were airbrushed away and they weren’t given a number of Guardian articles to platform themselves so that the middle classes could be softened up. 

Since those early days, the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos used Thunberg and the global media to manufacture consent for what’s coming - the new fake ‘Net Zero’ world, the '4th industrial revolution’ and next year’s 'New Deal for Nature’.

Thunberg herself happily plays along signing the letter about 'Natural Climate Solutions’ that appeared in the Guardian alongside fake green George Monbiot, who also wrote an abysmal column to go with it, which seemed to be more about geoengineering and terraforming than habitat restoration, particularly when the academic references to support his narrative are analysed. This climate-washing of the narrative has got to stop.

The Climate Emergency Fund (USA), set up by Trevor Neilson and funded by Aileen Getty and Rory Kennedy are just one of the big money foundations who now fund the movement she helped create, Youth Strike. I was at the first big Youth Strike protest in London; it was organic and spontaneous. Children took the roads and risked arrest; the cops brought out mounted patrols, some children were arrested, later de-arrested. I noticed that several people within the UK, who’ve positioned themselves at the heart of the climate movement, people from 350, UK Youth Climate Coalition, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth etc. were already there on the sidelines, coordinating and framing the media message. 

At the second big Youth Strike protest in London, the children were pushed aside, the speakers on the big red bus that positioned itself on Victoria Embankment were now mostly adults. The Trade Unions were now also in attendance, alongside other NGOs like Global Justice Now, War on Want and MPs like Jeremy Corbyn (he gave a great speech that day) and Caroline Lucas (she did not and seemed very irritable afterwards when I tried to speak to her, a first). The SWP were eagerly recruiting youngsters and filling their heads full of propaganda. It was painful to observe. 

By the third big protest, the children were told to march aimlessly around the streets of London, whilst 'activists’ from Greenpeace, FoE and 350 who had coordinated the event looked on. Something so energetic faded so quickly. Very little has happened since that day in Autumn last year, although #Covid19 perhaps has also been responsible for muting any efforts to mobilise. 

Her marketing team now seems to think a film about her, to go with the numerous books (yes, I’ve read one of them, the speeches have aged very badly) is now what’s required. Roger Hallam recently made a film, called 'The Troublemaker’, it was largely a work of propaganda. I wonder what Greta’s film will say?

“Intriguingly, even bafflingly, Grossman’s film begins by showing Thunberg’s pre-famous self as a high-schooler with her homemade climate strike placard, enduring a lonely vigil outside the Stockholm parliament every Friday with a few grumpy older shoppers coming up and telling her off for not being in school. Here she is: the non-famous nobody, and these scenes lead seamlessly to later moments showing her campaign taking off. So … does this mean Grossman has been prophetically following her career from the very beginning?“ 

This journalist has clearly not been following the story. That all these early protests were filmed shows they had much larger plans.

Do people think any of this is normal? This post is likely to grate with people. If it does, may I suggest you’re emotionally invested in this story and you can’t see what’s really happening. Step back and get some perspective. I invite discussion but nobody is fooling me with what’s happened over the last two years.

Many people seem to be of the opinion that Greta can’t be criticised. There’s a confirmation bias in wanting to believe her story, from a one person protest to meeting world leaders, the UN and the Davos set at the World Economic Forum, where she platformed herself alongside David Attenborough and Jane Goodall. These people won’t engage with the narrative that indicates she’s been manufactured. This is compounded by her support from those in XR, who also can’t seem to see their own movement is also constructed and coupled to her story. A lot of the themes in her speeches, that of the planet being 'on fire’ or that we’re running ‘out of time’ are common to XR and Youth Strike and then later authors like Naomi Klein, and are based on mobilising people based on urgency. “My name is Greta Thunberg and I want you to panic!” - but this repeated doomerism has had a paralysing effect on many people. Other flanks of people have been mobilised to take action, notably within the UK as XR, which is a larger movement than Youth Strike. However, much of the mobilisation has been about virtue signalling, their virtuous non-violence and colourful boats has meant their movement has failed to really diversify beyond it’s white, middle class base. The movement appears to have now peaked and largely run out of money.

There is also the common theme of expecting governments to act to resolve this. When are people going to realise that’s not going to happen. Parliaments are not going to end capitalism. Who was the last parliamentary candidate who ran on a #degrowth platform? As such, both movements are self defeating and tend to reinforce hierarchy and statism. In the worst case scenario what they are asking for is EcoFascism. If people are struggling to deal with Covid19 restrictions on movement which have only brought about around a 6-7% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions, then how would they cope when they are told the truth about what ‘Net Zero’ would really mean: private cars would be banned, consumption would be drastically reduced along with an end to pointless bullshit jobs, international flights would be rationed and restricted and people in the Global North would have to eat perhaps 75% less meat. Some of us have made or are making these changes already and will be ready for this world when we run out of oil and when critical metal resource depletion also punctures the myth of the electric car. 

Net Zero within 5 years is a fallacy. Anyone who’s looked at the data knows this. The Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth, Wales appear to be asking for a radical strategy in stating that a 60% reduction in primary energy usage is required, then you realise that they’ve massively underestimated the actual emissions as they don’t include consumption emissions from overseas. This suggests an 85-90% reduction in energy demand would be required. 

Meanwhile the IPCC based their models on a doubling of energy consumption between now and 2050. The pretence is maintained by claiming there are ‘Negative Emissions Technologies’ that will magically sequester away our historical and future carbon debt. The primary technology that they envision will do this, Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) is not yet technically viable and never will be. It’s neither safe, nor ethical and it won’t reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Delaying the urgent mitigation required now leaves a larger problem for future generations. BECCS would also require huge amounts of land, freshwater and fertiliser and would destroy biodiversity, threaten food security and trample on Indigenous land rights. The IPCC ‘science’ that Greta Thunberg claims is her version of the truth, is merely only one part of the picture. There are good scientists and bad scientists. Which ones is she backing?

She seems blind to the modelling work going on which assumes that #BECCS is viable and cost effective, a trick of economic models within which subsidies and discounting correct for impossibilities. BECCS will never happen at scale as citizens will mobilise against it. Thus Thunberg’s attempt to lecture Joe Biden, who is well aware of what carbon capture is and has opened the door to it, merely show how little she understands the bigger picture. In reality, what we now have is this pretend world of ‘Net Zero’ False Solutions, where corporations have taken centre stage. Yet, XR, Youth Strike and Greta Thunberg  are largely silent on this and are still screaming for governments to take action. In the UK, they did take action as XR suggested and set up a citizen’s assembly, which was then rigged to provide the wrong outcome as these resources clearly show. Under the guidance of the Committee on Climate Change, the process has been captured by false technofix solutions and corporate thinking.

The conversation is so far from where it needs to be. Greta now has a film about her life, which will make the middle classes feel like they can change the world if they just shout loudly enough. The trouble is their dominance of the debate and misdirection has wasted two years. Only Covid19 has really reduced emissions, as its forced a much needed reduction in hypermobility and a reduction in oil use. 

I hope people can start to see what’s happened over the last two years now. Some folks are waking up to the reality of what needs to be done. No one else is going to fix this mess but us. The only way we can do that is by collectively disengaging from the system, but in more constructive ways, where we can come together, build community and connection. I’ll be writing more about how we do this another time. The solutions need to be centred on mutual aid, land rights, agroecology and permaculture.

The 'Mars Flower' Photo Puzzles Scientists

An odd flower-like feature spotted on Mars by NASA's Curiosity rover continues to perplex researchers, who nevertheless stress that its origins are not biological.

The object garnered a lot of attention after Curiosity photographed it last month, with many Internet users quickly dubbing it the "Mars flower." The feature is actually a rounded, light-colored pebble slightly larger than a grain of sand, but determining its precise mineralogical makeup would require more information, researchers said.

"It could be a lot of things, but without some chemical information to back me up, I'd really hesitate to say what it is," Aileen Yingst, of the Planetary Science Institute in Tucson, Ariz., told reporters today (Jan. 15).

"I'm not trying to be cagey," added Yingst, the deputy principal investigator for Curiosity's Mars Hand Lens Imager, or MAHLI. "I'm just trying to be clear that a light grain could be a lot of different things."

The so-called Mars flower juts from a rock near an outcrop mission scientists have named "John Klein," in honor of a former Curiosity deputy project manager who died in 2011. The car-size rover is preparing to use its drill for the first time in the area, boring into a John Klein rock over the next two weeks or so.

The outcrop and its environs show many signs of long-ago exposure to liquid water, including water-deposited mineral veins that fill fissures in the rock. John Klein is thus a suitable drilling target for Curiosity, whose main goal is to determine if Mars has ever been capable of supporting microbial life.

The Mars flower is not a sign of life, but it does add to the site's intrigue, researchers said.

"It does indicate that you have, you know, a relatively diverse set of grains just in this one sample," Yingst said.

The 1-ton Curiosity rover landed inside Mars' huge Gale Crater on the night of Aug. 5, 2012. NASA officials have called the six-wheeled robot the most capable planetary explorer ever launched. It carries 17 different cameras and 10 science instruments, including gear that can detect organic compounds — the carbon-containing building blocks of life as we know it.

LaunchNotes raises a $1.8M seed round to help companies communicate their software updates

LaunchNotes, a startup founded by the team behind Statuspage (which Atlassian later acquired) and the former head of marketing for Jira, today announced that it has raised a $1.8 million seed round co-led by Cowboy Ventures and Bull City Ventures. In addition, Tim Chen (general partner, Essence Ventures), Eric Wittman (chief growth officer, JLL Technologies), Kamakshi Sivaramakrishnan (VP Product, LinkedIn), Scot Wingo (co-founder & CEO, Spiffy), Lin-Hua Wu (chief communications officer, Dropbox) and Steve Klein (co-founder, Statuspage) are participating in this round.

The general idea behind LaunchNotes is to help businesses communicate their software updates to internal and external customers, something that has become increasingly important as the speed of software developments — and launches — has increased.

In addition to announcing the new funding round, LaunchNotes also today said that it will revamp its free tier to include the ability to communicate updates externally through public embeds as well. Previously, users needed to be on a paid plan to do so. The team also now allows businesses to customize the look and feel of these public streams more and it did away with subscriber limits.

“The reason we’re doing this is largely because […] our long-term goal is to drive this shift in how release communications is done,” LaunchNotes co-founder Jake Brereton told me. “And the easiest way we can do that and get as many teams on board as possible is to lower the barrier to entry. Right now, that barrier to entry is asking users to pay for it.”

As Brereton told me, the company gained about 100 active users since it launched three months ago.

“I think, more than anything, our original thesis has been validated much more than I expected,” co-founder and CEO Tyler Davis added. “This problem really does scale with team size and in a very linear way and the interest that we’ve had has largely been on the much larger, enterprise team side. It’s just become very clear that that specific problem — while it is an issue for smaller teams — is much more of a critical problem as you grow and as you scale out into multiple teams and multiple business units.”

It’s maybe no surprise then that many of the next items on the team’s roadmap include features that large companies would want from a tool like this, including integrations with issue trackers, starting with Jira, single sign-on solutions and better team management tools.

“With that initial cohort being on the larger team size and more towards enterprise, issue tracker integration is a natural first step into our integrations platform, because a lot of change status currently lives in all these different tools and all these different processes and LaunchNotes is kind of the layer on top of that,” explained co-founder Tony Ramirez. “There are other integrations with things like feature flagging systems or git tools, where we want LaunchNotes to be the one place where people can go. And for these larger teams, that pain is more acute.”

The fact that LaunchNotes is essentially trying to create a system of record for product teams was also part of what attracted Cowboy Ventures founder Aileen Lee to the company.

“One of the things that I thought was kind of exciting is that this is potentially a new system of record for product people to use that kind of lives in different places right now — you might have some of it in Jira and some in Trello, or Asana, and some of that in Sheets and some of it in Airtable or Slack,” she said. She also believes that LaunchNotes will make a useful tool when bringing on new team members or handing off a product to another developer.

She also noted that the founding team, which she believes has the ideal background for building this product, was quite upfront about the fact that it needs to bring more diversity to the company. “They recognized, even in the first meeting, ‘hey, we understand we’re three guys, and it’s really important to us to actually build out [diversity] on our cap table and in our investing team, but then also in all of our future hires so that we are setting our company up to be able to attract all kinds of people,” she said.

Sein Großvater, der mächtige Großmagier, steht dem König mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Auch Rowan besitzt magische Fähigkeiten und ist Ottgars Freund. Der Königssohn Ottgar und die anderen Freunde Rowans werden auf ein Leben als Ritter vorbereitet. Aus diesem Grund ziehen die Freunde an andere Fürstenhäuser, um zu lernen, wie man sich bei und überhaupt als Ritter benimmt. Rowan fehlen diese Kenntnisse und er glaubt, dass ein Leben als Magier bei weitem nicht so aufregend ist und Ritter für das Land viel wichtiger sind als Magier. Aileen O’Grian zeigt dem jungen Leser, dass die Menschen nicht nur Krieger und ihre Waffen brauchen, sondern dass Magier über uraltes Wissen verfügen und viele Probleme statt mit Gewalt und Waffen manchmal auch mit Intelligenz gelöst werden können. Der kleine Magier Rowan lernt Kräfte aus Natur und Magie kennen, die er zum Wohl der Menschen nutzen kann. Rowan erkennt schnell, wie vorsichtig er mit den Kräften und Geistern umzugehen hat und dass er sie achten und respektieren muss, damit sie ihm gewogen sind. Rowan vollbringt mit seinem alten Streitross, das nun in Rente ist, ein aufregendes Abenteuer und wird zum großen Helden. Das Setting ist für Kinder goldrichtig. Nicht zu überladen. Es gibt Drachen! Es gibt Elfen! Aber vor allem gibt es Rowan! 5/5 Punkten Protagonisten "Rowan - Kampf gegen die Drachen" Und genau dieser Rowan ist ein ganz normaler Junge, der gerne mit seinen Freunden spielen möchte. Aber er versteht auch die Sprache der Tiere. Natürlich findet er Ritter sein viel spannender: Man lernt tanzen, mit Schwertern kämpfen, reiten, Bogen schießen und noch vieles weiteres Abenteuerliches. Als Magierlehrling muss er viel Theorie lernen. Er muss die Natur mit ihren Gesetzen kennen lernen, um damit umgehen zu können. Er muss Heilpflanzen erkennen und unterscheiden können, wofür oder wogegen sie helfen. Als er mit seinem Großvater Verletzte versorgt, erkennt er den Wert seiner magischen Fähigkeiten und seines Wissens. Das Einzige, was ich zu bemängeln habe, und deswegen 1 Punkt abziehe: Rowan ist mir ein wenig zu ernst. Er könnte auch mal Unsinn machen. Er ist ja doch noch ein Kind. Aber ansonsten finde ich den jungen Magier sehr gelungen. 4/5 Punkten Sprachliche Gestaltung Setting und Sprache sind für Kinder sehr schön überschaubar. Es geht auch nicht um blutrünstige Gemetzel, sondern eher darum, wie man gefährliche Situationen mithilfe von Wissen, Verstand, Weitsicht und Zusammenarbeit bewältigen kann. Und schon ist der kleine Rowan kein unfähiger Ritter, sondern ein kluger Magier, der das Leben der Ritter rettet. Kinder können sich gut mit dem kleinen Magier identifizieren und jeder (einschließlich mir!) wäre gerne mit dem jungen Magier befreundet. Am Ende des Buches findet man ein Kapitel mit Begriffserklärungen. Begriffe, wie Häusler, Page oder Knappe etc. werden zum Verständnis für den jungen Leser erklärt. Das gefällt mir sehr gut. 4/5 Punkten Cover und äußere Erscheinung „Rowan - Kampf gegen die Drachen“ von Aileen O’Grian hat 196 Seiten und ist am 22.07.2016 unter der ISBN 9783741240034 bei C Books on Demand im Genre Jugendbuch erschienen. Das Cover gefällt mir nicht so, weil es für mich nicht den Focus des Buches vertritt. Ein Bild von Rowan hätte mir besser gefallen. 3/5 Punkten Fazit "Rowan - Kampf gegen die Drachen" Rowan und seine Abenteuer gefallen mir sehr gut. Gerade weil es nicht nur um Kampf und Gemetzel geht. Ich finde das für Kinder ab 10 Jahren richtig spannend! Auch dass der Magier sich in erster Linie der Kräfte der Natur bedient, die Geister um Hilfe bittet und nicht nur Zaubersprüche aufsagt. Read Lisa Carey's Unique Story... When I was young I had bulimia. After getting pregnant I gained some weight but not a lot. Now I have a lot of weight which started with needing progesterone to support my pregnancies. Now I feel like no matter what I do it's just not good enough - so many days it's "why bother." I'd like to look at myself that day and think - Wow you look good just the way you look at this moment. I come across all confident - but I just fake it really well. It doesn't help that I'm consistently reminded of what I looked like "before" I had health issued (high risk pregnancies, fibromyalgia and knee replacement surgery.) Now I'm even more aware of say the scar on my knee or the shape of my body. I probably should also work in who my real friends are. There are those that even when I do feel like I look good see me or a picture of me and say "What is that really you?" I had that happen recently and while I'm not high maintenance before leaving the house I do take some effort in my appearance. It's like they don't want me to feel good about how I look. Le Climate Emergency Fund, cofondé par des membres des familles Getty et Kennedy, soutient aussi le groupe radical Extinction Rebellion, qui pratique la désobéissance civile.

La couleur du mouvement international de lutte contre le réchauffement climatique est aussi verte que les dollars qui le financent. Largement soutenues et promues par la jeune activiste écologiste suédoise de 16 ans, Greta Thunberg, les manifestations qui déferlent dans les grandes métropoles du monde depuis plusieurs mois sont en partie subventionnées par de richissimes personnalités, dont certaines appartiennent à d’illustres familles américaines. Une manne militante qui soutient des actions illégales et des groupes radicaux parfois violents.

Le Climate Emergency Fund (CEF), un fond qui finance la désobéissance civile pour le climat, a été lancé en juillet dernier par trois multimillionnaires pour arroser « des activistes disruptifs », dixit Trevor Neilson, un des co-fondateurs. « L’investissement le plus intelligent pour les philanthropes vise cette nouvelle génération de militants qui refusent d’accepter les excuses des adultes dont l’approche paresseuse face au climat nous mène dans le précipice, a-t-il ainsi confié au New York Times. L'ère du gradualisme dans l'activisme environnemental est terminée. »

Business, Malibu et feux de forêts

Trevor Neilson est le PDG de la société i(x) investments, co-fondée avec le petit-fils du financier milliardaire et 3e fortune mondiale, Warren E. Buffett. Il a aussi été directeur exécutif de la Global Business Coalition, une coalition de plus de 200 multinationales dédiée aux questions de santé et créée avec le fondateur de Microsoft Bill Gates, le financier George Soros et le fondateur de CNN Ted Turner. Ex-dirigeant de la Fondation Bill & Melinda Gates, Neilson a été nommé « Jeune leader global » par la Forum économique mondial et a servi à la Maison Blanche sous l’administration de Bill Clinton.

Très engagé dans la cause climatique, Trevor Neilson possède comme les autres richissimes cofondateurs du CEF, amis et déjà associés dans la philanthropie, une villa dans le très chic quartier de Malibu, à Los Angeles en Californie, menacé par des feux de forêts, l’an dernier. « Ces incendies nous ont permis de nous réveiller », a-t-il expliqué, sans rire. Le trio militant compte aussi Rory Kennedy, fille de l’ancien sénateur démocrate Robert Kennedy. « Nous manquons beaucoup de temps, nous devons aider les gens à comprendre que nous avons besoin d’un changement radical de direction », insiste-t-elle.

« Trump fait tellement de mal au climat »

Militante de gauche et réalisatrice de documentaires sociaux, la nièce de JFK est, comme ses associés, une fanatique de Greta Thunberg, dont elle salue l’action « extraordinaire » sur les réseaux sociaux. « J’aimerais être arrêtée pour mon engagement pour l’environnement ! », ose même celle qui fut arrêtée à 13 ans lors d’une manifestation anti-apartheid. Comme eux, elle déteste évidemment le président et « prédateur sexuel » Donald Trump et sa politique. « C'est horrible. Ça me déprime vraiment. Il fait tellement de mal au climat », déplore-t-elle, avouant « ne pas avoir anticipé son élection ».

Tout aussi déconnecté, le troisième mécène du CEF porte un patronyme tout aussi célèbre. Aileen Getty, qui a déjà versé 600 000 dollars au groupe, est une des héritières de l’empire pétrolier du même nom ! Elle a préféré rediriger ses fonds philanthropiques, consacrés auparavant au soutien des SDF, à la recherche contre le sida et à la création d'espaces verts, vers le changement climatique. « Tant que nos énergies sont concentrées sur toutes ces autres questions, aussi pressantes soient-elles, nous ne nous consacrons pas à la question la plus urgente de toutes », justifie-t-elle.

Désobéissance civile et opérations illégales

Au total, plus d’un million de dollars ont été récoltés par le Climate Emergency Fund, dont 800 000 dollars ont été alloués sous forme de subventions, « pour catalyser des centaines, sinon des milliers, de nouveaux groupes militants climatiques », selon Trevor Neilson, qui se félicite que « les grèves d’étudiants menées par l’incroyable Greta Thunberg ont aussi attiré l’attention du monde ». Un de ces groupes, Extinction Rebellion (XR), actif à New York et Los Angeles, n'hésite pas d’ailleurs à défendre des positions radicales et des pratiques extrémistes.

XR est un mouvement écologiste international qui se livre à la désobéissance civile et réclame la fin des émissions carbonées en 2025 ainsi que la création d’une assemblée citoyenne sur le climat ! C’est sous la pression de ses blocages, en mai dernier, que le Parlement britannique a déclaré « l’urgence climatique » au moyen d’une motion du leader marxiste de l’opposition travailliste, Jeremy Corbyn. Une première mondiale. Ses activistes, qui s’enchaînent aussi aux grilles et s'abandonnent parfois au vandalisme, avaient alors occupé - illégalement - des quartiers entiers de Londres pendant plusieurs jours, une campagne qui a coûté plus de 8 millions d'euros aux contribuables britanniques.

Greta et XR main dans la main

Séduits par ces opérations coup de poing, qui ont vu plusieurs centaines d’« écowarriors » arrêtés, les argentiers du CEF ont promis 350 000 dollars à l’organisation, née en octobre 2018, pour poursuivre ses actions subversives. « Je crois comprendre que, sans surprise, certains riches sont suffisamment intelligents pour faire les calculs de base et réaliser que nous nous dirigeons vers l’extinction », a ainsi relevé Roger Hallam, co-fondateur de XR, pour qui la désobéissance civile pratiquée par son groupe « implique d’enfreindre la loi ».

Une désobéissance civile, revendiquée par Greta Thunberg elle-même, qui parle volontiers de « désobéissance climatique ». En juillet, la militante de 16 ans, récupérée par « le capitalisme vert » et dont le voilier qui l’a emmenée au sommet de l’Onu de New York était sponsorisé par le Yacht Club du paradis fiscal de Monaco, BMW et une banque suisse liée aux paradis fiscaux, posait en t-shirt « antifasciste » et révélait avoir prêté sa voix au nouveau single anti-réchauffement du groupe britannique The 1975, dont toutes les recettes seront reversées à… XR.

Les millions de George Soros

Comme les mécènes américains d’Extinction Rebellion, l’adolescente suédoise relaie leur propagande sur Internet et participe même à leurs manifestations : « Continuez, vous faites la différence », a-t-elle lancé à la foule, au cours d'un rassemblement à Londres, en avril dernier. Plus récemment, tous se sont retrouvés, en septembre, lors de la « grève mondiale pour le climat », inspirée par Greta Thunberg. Outre XR et le mouvement « Fridays for Future » initié par la jeune militante, y participaient 22 partenaires, qui ont reçu au moins 24,8 millions de dollars de la part du réseau Open Society du milliardaire philanthrope et progressiste George Soros, entre 2000 et 2017, selon l'organisme conservateur Media Research Center (l'Open Society a démenti avoir financé « l'activité » de la « courageuse » Greta Thunberg).

Parmi eux figure l’organisation 350.org, fondée par le militant écologiste Bill McKibben, membre du conseil consultatif du CEF. « Le monde ressemble maintenant à un petit terminal […]. Tout à coup, ce n’est pas le matin en Amérique, c’est le crépuscule sur Terre », s’alarmait-il dans une tribune apocalyptique, titrée « La dernière chance de la civilisation » et publiée en… 2008. Aujourd’hui, l’activiste proche de Hillary Clinton et partisan d’« une refonte radicale de la société américaine », le dit : « Personne ne devrait être choqué lorsque des militants d'Extinction Rebellion se lancent dans la désobéissance civile de masse. »

Des riches pour « changer la donne »

Pour amplifier le mouvement, le Climate Emergency Fund entend donc multiplier par cent le montant de ses levées de fonds auprès de riches donateurs dans les prochains mois. Pour financer notamment « les grèves scolaires contre le climat » de Greta Thunberg. L’implication de philanthropes fortunés pourrait en effet « changer la donne », espère Margaret Klein Salamon, aussi membre du conseil du CEF. « Ce moment nécessite des perturbations à grande échelle et une désobéissance civile non-violente pour imposer le changement de politique dont nous avons besoin », assume en tout cas le site du fonds, pour qui « notre planète est en péril ».

Les actions menées par Extinction Rebellion sont « nécessaires parce qu’il est évident que l’opinion n’est toujours pas suffisamment engagée », approuve Aileen Getty. La petite-fille de J. Paul Getty, autrefois homme le plus riche d’Amérique, espère surtout que d’autres « individus très fortunés » l’imiteront dans son engagement désintéressé. L’héritière de 62 ans, qui a mis en vente sa maison de Malibu pour 12 millions de dollars, vit désormais à New York dans une maison de cinq étages, achetée 19 millions et comprenant six chambres, cinq salles de bain, un penthouse et un jacuzzi. Et contrairement à Greta Thunberg, l’écologiste philanthrope « prend toujours l’avion ».

es gibt wieder etwas neues haha. konnte es noch verrückter werden? ja, konnte es scheinbar. eigentlich war ja alles super soweit und aileen und ich haben uns richtig wohl gefühlt (wenn nick nicht da war, weil wir dann machen konnten was wir wollten). wir haben morgens einfach so lange gewartet, bis er zur arbeit fährt und sind dann erst aus dem zimmer gegangen, haben uns frühstück gemacht und erstmal den riesen fernseher angemacht und ab auf die couch gechillt. nicht zu vergessen war dabei der meerblick, den man sogar hatte,wenn man auf der couch liegt. wir lagen dann den ganzen tag auf der couch haben alle möglichen versionen von “the real housewives” geguckt, ob miami, melbourne oder los angeles ich liiiebe es. warum gibt es das bitte nicht in deutschland? naja, wir haben dann den pay-tv sender mal richtig ausgekostet und nichts anderes gemacht. es hat sich sooo gut angefühlt,wenn man nach 6 wochen hostelleben, sich mal wieder wie zuhause fühlt. man steht morgens auf, macht sich frühstück und legt sich auf die couch. MEGA. theoretisch hätte es nicht besser sein können. THEORETISCH. da gab es aber noch die abgefahrene seite von nick. wir hatten eh immer das gefühl, dass wir was mit ihm unternehmen müssen, weil wir ohne einen cent zu bezahlen bei ihm gewohnt haben und auch sein essen gegessen haben. er war immer voller elan und wollte uns alles zeigen und wir waren wollten eher nur gammeln. ich meine im hostel kann man auch so gut nichts machen, aber nichts geht über eine wohnung oder ein zimmer das man für sich hat. naja, also haben wir uns immer rausgeredet. ich habe im letzten eintrag voll vergessen, von der dümmsten ausrede meines lebens zu schreiben, wie konnte ich das vergessen haha :-D es war einfach nur super wetter und da nick zufälligerweise auch ein boot hatte, wollte er mit uns auf dem boot grillen. aileen hatte da von anfang an keine lust drauf und ich dachte mir erst so warum nicht könnte ja mega lustig werden. je länger ich da aber drüber nachgedacht habe, dass man alleine auf einem boot mit einem fremden ist,den man erst einen tag kennt, dann war mir das ganze dann doch schon zu gruselig. nachdem ich erst einmal angefangen hatte darüber nachzudenken, hatte ich schon wieder einen halben horrorfilm im kopf. gut war das nick zu dem zeitpunkt nicht da war und wir uns dann in ruhe eine ausrede überlegen konnten. letzendlich haben wir ihn aber doch angerufen und einfach gesagt,dass wir keinen bock drauf haben. besser gesagt- ICH habe ihn angerufen, manno und ich hasse telefonieren eh schon. dann hab ich halt gesagt wir haben da keine lust drauf und sind müde und dann meinte er die ganze zeit “heute ist super wetter, das bringt so spaß, bla bla” und ich meinte dann nach 5 minuten einfach nur “okay, vielleicht sollten wir es einfach ausprobieren”.. wie dumm, ich hätte es nicht sagen sollen. ich hatte immer weniger bock und wir beiden haben uns dann richtig verrückt gemacht irgendwie. irgendwann haben wir beschlossen, dass wir das auf keinen fall machen werden (ich bin also doch vernünftig mama). na super, wie sollte man ihm das denn jetzt bitte sagen, nachdem wir anfangs zugesagt haben, dann absagen wollten und uns doch überreden lassen haben? wir haben und echt jede ausrede überlegt. die meisten waren einfach nur dumm. nach einer gefühlten halben stunde haben wir dann einfach gesagt, dass mir plötzlich so mega schlecht geworden ist und ich garnicht wusste was los ist,weils mir ja vorher so super ging und ich dann einfach kotzen musste. wir fanden das ganz plausibel, wenn ich jetzt drüber nachdenke, kann ich mich selbst nur auslachen, gerade weil ich dann ja auch so tun musste, als wenn es mir schlecht geht und ich wie halbtod dann im bett lag hahaha. nick hats auch kein stück geglaubt, obwohl ich das echt gut rübergebracht habe wie ich finde. naja, das war ürbigens alles vor dem super ekligen barbecue, wo ich dann einfach wieder salat und hähnchen gegessen habe,weils mir plötzlich wieder gut ging. wie dumm :-D :-D  naja, wie gesagt, am besten war es immer wenn er nicht da war und wir das haus für uns hatten. wenn er denn da war, sind wir ganz zufällig einkaufen gegangen,als er gerade ins haus gekommen ist. ich glaube er fand uns auch mega dumm, obwohl er immer nett zu uns war und immer gefragt hat ob wir noch das brauchen und so. theoretisch hätten wir ganz viel gebracht, was man als armer backpacker halt sich selbst nicht kauft und für ihn wäre das bestimmt auch nichts großes gewesen, aber nein, man sagt ja eh immer man braucht nichts. der oberhammer kam aber am 3.tag. ganz ehrlich, das hat mich dann alles nur noch an einen schlechten film erinnert. wir liegen den ganzen tag nur rum und gucken tv und überlegen schon die ganze zeit,wann nick dann wiederkommen könnte und dann kommt er nach 6 stunden arbeit wieder, wir natürlich wieder voll schnell dabei uns fertig zu machen,weil wir wieder “einkaufen” wollten, dann erzählt er uns plötzlich, dass er zum gericht muss, wegen der ganzen führerschein sache. da er jetzt zum dritten mal erwischt wurde beim fahren, ohne führerschein, den er ja schon vor längerer zeit verloren hatte, kommt sein fall jetzt vor gericht. wir könnten so freundlich sein und ihm dabei helfen aus der sache rauszukommen, das waren so in etwa seine worte. ich dachte mir gleich:Nö. wir haben dann aber gesagt wir überlegen uns das nochmal und sind dann zum einkaufen gegangen. während der kurzen zet haben wir uns dann schnell überlegt,wie wir aus der sache rauskommen auf eine falschaussage und das ganze drum und dran hatten wir beide gar kein bock drauf. ich meinte dann nur,das wir am besten schnell unsere sachen packen sollten und dann einfach mit dem nächsten bus zur nächsten zugstation und von da aus dann nach melbourne zu fahren. ja es stand wieder eine halbe weltreise an. wir wollten das natürlich nur machen,wenn er nicht da ist, sonst wäre es schon ein bisschen auffällig gewesen unsere sachen zusammen zu packen. gott sei dank, hatten wir glück. nachdem wir wiedergekommen sind, ist er dann losgefahren. wir haben so schnell wie möglich unsere sachen in den backpack gestopft und sind dann los. ich dachte nur, wenn er jetzt nach hause kommt, wenn wir einfach so loswollen, wüsste ich nichtmal wie der dann reagiert hätte. wilkommen in einem schlechtem horrorfilm. was für ein zufall, die busstation war genau an der einzigen großen straße da im dorf, das er dann genau an uns vorbeigefahren wäre. nach 10 minuten voller einbildung sein auto zu sehen, kam auch endlich der bus. noch nie habe ich mich über einen bus so gefreut haha :-D naja, da waren wir dann also auf unserem weg zurück nach melbourne um 7 uhr abends ohne hostel für die nacht. die ersten 2 hostel wo wir angerufen haben, waren mal wieder komplett ausgebucht- melbourne meint es einfach nicht mehr gut mit uns. wir wollten nur in ein günstiges hostel und da günstig hier ja eh nicht vorhanden ist,fiel mir nur noch das alte ranzhostel namens spencer backpackers ein, wo ich ein wochenende mit 5 asiaten in einem zimmer verbracht habe. natürlich war es nicht ausgebucht.. die aussicht da wieder zu pennen war jetzt nicht ganz so verlockend, aber irgendwie hat mich das gar nicht so gestört. das hat sich aber komplett geändert, als wir unser zimmer gesehen haben und gleich in den ersten sekunden gesagt bekommen haben, dass bis vor 2 wochen noch bettwanzen im zimmer waren. da hätte ich kotzen können, nicht nur theoretisch,sondern auch wirklich. das ich jemals wieder in das hostel zurückkomme hätte ich schon nicht gedacht, aber dann noch bettwanzen? schlimmer konnte es garnicht sein. ich glaube ich bin auch noch nie in einem so chaotischen zimmer gewesen. alter schwede ey :-D das zimmer war nichtmal klein, aber da die 3 hochbetten mitten im zimmer standen und drum rum, jeder seinen riesen backpack liegen hatte und circa alles auf dem boden lag, konnte man nur von einem freien stück zum anderen gehen. dazu kommt noch eine ca 70 jahre alte engländerin, die ihrer einrichtung nach sogar da im zimmer gewohnt hat( es hing ein kalender an der wand, wer hängt sich denn bitte einen kalender an die wand auf reisen). also das zimmer war echt komplett verrückt. abends haben wir uns dann gleich nach dem nächsten couchsurfhost umgeguckt und zum glück auf einen gefunden. wir haben dann abgemacht, dass wir ca um 6 uhr abends bei chris, einem 28 jahre altem australier ankommen. wir lagen dann den kompletten tag im park in der sonne, haben musik gehört und nichts gemacht.zum glück war das wetter gut. wir sind jetzt in coburg, ca 15 minuten mit dem zug von melbourne entfernt. chris ist super nett und hat uns in das zimmer seiner schwester einquatiert, die gerade in japan im urlaub ist. keine ahnung, ob sie überhaupt davon weiß, das 2 deutsche jetzt in ihrem bett pennen. naja mir ist es egal, es ist ziemlich gemütlich hier und dazu kommt noch, dass 2 andere deutsche mädchen auch hier ein paar tage schlafen. chris hat denen einfach sein bett überlassen und pennt jetzt auf der couch. die australier sind doch verrückt. ein bisschen tat uns 4 das dann schon leid, aber ich meine, er hat das ja selbst so gewollt. jetzt sind wir 4 deutsche hier uns verstehen uns mega gut. leider können wir nur 2 tage bleiben, dann gehts wahrscheinlich wieder in ein hostel. ich habe wie immer keine ahnung und keinen plan, aber es wird schoonn :-)

Neu in den Stall gekommen ist Aileen, eine 2016er Africa Twin.

Die hat inzwischen auch einiges an Upgrades bekommen um sie Fit für Reisen zu machen.

Leider ist es aktuell noch nicht möglich eine Reise für 2021 zu planen...
