I need whoever keeps baiting me with a new Alabaster story to either stop or actually supply a source because that shit is getting my HOPES up. And I keep trying to google that and I keep coming up empty. But I now got two separate anon comments about it, so the second time around, I thought "Okay maybe now there's something official" and there still isn't.

The only PJO related book I would pick up is in fact an Alabaster-centric (or generally rebel army centric) book written by Haley Riordan.

You’d think Piper is chill with that stuff, but if she's crushing strong on you, she will not be normal about this. Stays silent after the person you're speaking to called her your girlfriend. Literally says nothing and just observes your reaction. Like, to see if you're uncomfortable with it, if you correct them at all, if you also get nervous. Outside, she's chill but believe me, she's going to be overthinking this before going to sleep

Jason is an interesting case. Well, at least he’d be amusing, I think. Because his first instinct is to pipe up and be like ‘no, actually-’. But then it also hits him that he doesn't want you to think he wouldn't want to be your partner. But also he’s not trying to make it seem like he’s pushing you into this uncomfortable situation? Please, save this man before he gets too wrapped up in whatever the hell he’s trying to say. Needless to say, the other person will be more confused than before

When it happens to Reyna, she wants to be logical about it. Just say the truth and move on with the conversation. Keyword - wants. Because she can get absolutely smitten and then the next thing you know she’s looking away and her face is heating up. Of course, she maintains most of her composure, but she’ll be a little bit awkward for the rest of the day. Damn that stranger for putting those ideas into her head

With Alabaster, it really depends on the timing. The dude is largely sleep-deprived and on the verge of being killed most of the time. So he really does not pay attention to things like this if he suspects you two might be in danger (more so than usual). If things are moderately okay and you two are relatively safe though?? Oh, you know it gets awkward. He can be really outspoken if he has to, but he can turn into a mess just as easily. He sort of pauses glances at you, and attempts to explain that you two are not together. At some point, you don't even know what he’s saying. He doesn't know either. You just know that he’s stressed. Poor guy doesn't even get one peaceful moment smh

I saved the worst for the last which would be Octavian. The bitch fucking scoffs. Yes, he might like you but this is not important right now, because this stranger is assuming things and making stuff up. And he’ll let them know this much. Rolls his eyes because some people really don't know how to mind their own business. And they didn't even get it right. He genuinely didn't know why would you even be upset with his reaction. He was in the right, after all

Stupid Chalice of the Gods predictions before the book comes out and ruins my fun:

1. There will be a lecture about how important college is probably from Chiron

2. Student loan joke ftw

3. Maybe a clever jab at how Percy feels like he’s been 17 forever and can’t wait to be an adult

4. Ganymede is Zues’s intern or something like that

5. The fact that Ganymede is god of homosexuality will either be glossed over or will be his entire personality.

6. Alabaster is also looking for chalice and he is a main factor in making it difficult for the og3 to find it.

7. Because of this Hecate promises Percy his second letter of rec if he keeps Al from getting the Chalice but also makes sure Al doesn’t get killed.

8. Alabaster will make a quip about Percy being a literal dog to the gods with how he’s playing fetch for them

LGBT+ headcanon(s): gay, so gay, definitely 100% gay. I see him as the "I do not understand heterosexuals they bewilder me" kind of gay

Job headcanon (in an AU/or future): Mh. Trying to remember if I ever had him have a job in a mortal AU beyond a "necessary cast" (like a fire fighter AU where they're, duh, fire fighters, or a mob boss AU where he's, duh, a member of the di Angelo Family). Generally, I like to lean into his magic nature and I'd love to see him actually have like a... magic shop? Selling crystals and giving tarot card readings and such

Animal shifter headcanon: Long-haired, dark-brown haired cat, potentially a Norwegian because these are my favorite kitties

Favorite canon thing about them: ...that he lived? I'm sorry that sounds lame, but also Riordan Senior famously killed off literally every single "traitor" or "bad guy" demigod who was a named character with story - Luke, Ethan, Silena, Octavian (Chris lived but I'm not entirely counting him since he 1. deserted early, 2. spent like months severely mentally fucked up which felt like "penance" or "punishment" for his choices on a meta level, like, he avoided actual social or even juridical consequences because "hasn't he suffered enough?" coupled with "dating a main character from the good side" which is generally seen as a 'gets out of jail free' card) - to avoid having consequences happen, so I'm deeply in love with the fact that Alabaster was on the rebel side but lived and we got to see what the consequences for the demigods who chose to rebel actually are in the now-time. I love this story. I think Haley Riordan should actually write more about Alabaster, first and foremost, but also generally in the Riordanverse? Like, I would love him to write about the Titan War but from the rebel side, even if it's just one standalone book. I would devour that

Least favorite canon thing about them: That he hasn't returned to me yet ;-; I am REALLY hoping the PJO tv show will feature him, because... obviously wasn't he in the PJO book series since he was created after the fact and not by Riordan Senior, but since he exists now, and since Riordan is involved in the show, I really hope that Alabaster will be featured among the rebels in the tv show. Since they definitely will need more than three and a half rebels? Literally just for visual reasons and if you cast em, give em names (so I am generally hoping for the creation of more rebel demigods due to the tv show but it'd be a real missed opportunity to not feature Alabaster in it)
