I cannot stay silent. Boots. You cannot buy cheap boots new! They will need repairs every 3 months until they disintegrate after 1.5 years. Thrift your boots. If they are the wrong color, that just means you have painting to do! Thrift, or buy from an army surplus store. Best value you can find there, sadly.
Do not fear leather. You can love any leather back to good health with coconut oil. You can color it with food coloring. Leather is beautiful and good. Real leather looks upon pleather the way a sequia sees a gnat. Real leather can outlive you.

I believe I've shown this jacket to somebody on here before, but it matters little as it's one of my absolute favourite pieces to date and deserves to be shown off at any time/occasion. The base itself is an old Italian army jacket I found in a thrift store while on vacation 1.5y ago or so, at the same shop as the leather vest I posted some days back, no less. Comfortable, capacious, with sleeves of actually proper length and a snugly fitting drawstring at the waist, it makes for one of my most universal and most worn items in the closet.
The most eye-catching portion - the backside three-piece - was, surprisingly, not as difficult to make as I'd originally anticipated, which cannot be said of the little brand of sacrifice on the pocket. Sewing anything on a pocket is a nightmare one should never subject oneself to willingly unless one is a masochist. The little 'doodles' on the collar are supposed to be the eyes of the beast of darkness from berserk. And that not-fully shown patch on the right sleeve says '199', which refers to the Polish punk band 'Plagiat 199'.

i made a plague doctor mask!!
Tumblr media
so i needed a costume for my halloween party tomorrow (dont mind the fact that were celebrating halloween two weeks after its already passed) and ive wanted to go as plague doctor for years now but didnt feel comfortable buying a shitty mask i was just going to wear once anyway, well i found this amazing post with a template for making your own plague doctor mask!! as you can see i didnt quilt it cause ive never have done that before and didnt have a lot of time on my hands
without actually following the instructions like any other person and working on a sewing machine i never used before with some drawn instructions for myself i managed to make one!
Tumblr media
i used old jeans i already partially cut up for patches as fabric, the eyecovers are made from an old panty (you can see through em really well), and the belt buckle i had still laying around from an old bag which was falling apart. i also added lining on the inside which i made from black jeans to increase visibility (if the inside of the mask is dark its easier to see through the mask for the wearer)
Tumblr media
he did turn out a bit too big but ill fix that in the future. overall a really good result for my first try id say, also the mask is very easy to breath in which is great.

I think cybergoths and cyberpunks who wear those big decorative gas masks should consider putting voice changers in them. just for funsies.

Finished my first crochet hat! It's a cat ear beanie with the trans flag colors. Took me six days to complete but I love the results so much.

so i made strappy plaid pants from scratch using curtains that I got for free. and holy shit i'm so proud of them they took a while and I made a bunch of mistakes but the end result looks great (i still need to attach belt loops but shhhh)
[IDs: 1. a photo of handmade Tripp-style pants made with blue and white plaid. The pants are laying on a wood floor with the front side facing up. They have two front pockets and are fastened with a white zipper and small black button in the center. They are also decorated with two decorative zippers near the pockets, a pair of parallel grommet straps across the right leg, and two fabric attachments on the shin portion. On the left side of the pants are some small extra straps and a pocket pouch. Two straps attached to the back of the pants can be seen crossing over each other in an x shape.
2. a photo of handmade Tripp-style pants made with blue and white plaid. The pants are laying on a wooden floor with the back side facing up. Along the top of the pants are two pockets with zippers and D-rings attached to each. These D-rings are connected to two detachable straps, which cross over each other and are both connected on the other end to D-rings on the opposite pant leg. Two zippers run up the calve portion of each pant leg, both of which have an extra fabric panel behind them. The pocket pouch with extra straps is still visible.

My main jacket right now; comfortable, utilitarian, and looks good with almost anything. Me mum's uncle found it while thrifting and it reminded him of me, I guess, and, although it required some work on the pits, it now fits perfectly as my third of its kind. You can say a lot of bad shit about the military, and fuck me if ya shouldn't, but you gotta admit they make some quality clothes.
With this one, I didn't wanna go over the top with the number of patches like on some of my older projects, which you'll get to see in the future, so for the first couple of months it merely had the back paint, and yes, I do realize the writing is small, I'm bad at that stuff. There's some folk metal, some crust, and post-punk, even books. I don't think I'll be adding anything else, but am open to suggestions.
The fact it may not be legal to wear this only adds to the magic. To clear any potential confusion: I am not Finnish.
