Follow-up to the shiny fossils post. I actually got two of these three targets while this sat open on my computer, so I guess RNG likes how WIPs taste?? Unclear. But now I'm back to amassing duplicates. So it goes.

I couldn't sleep, so I made a list of pokemon teams for Avatar the Last Airbender.

TEAM AVATAR

Aang- Bouffalant (Appa), Emolga (Momo), Flygon (earth), Charizard (fire), Togetic/kiss or Alteria? (air), Mantine (water)

Katara- Lapras, Froslass (to represent the Painted Lady), Chansey (healing), Tentacruel? (poison type to represent bloodbending?), Primarina? (Starter?), Basculegion (to represent her tribe and their losses for which she fights)

Sokka- Lucario (given to him as a Riolu by Suki), Tyrogue (might evolve into Hitmontop, might not evolve at all), Ursaluna (given to him as a teddiursa by Yue), Minior (to represent the meteor he made his sword out of. Probably blue color, but maybe shiny?), Samurott (his starter probably), Klinklang (to represent his tinkering skills)

Toph- Excadrill (badgermoles, obviously), Steelix (metalbending), Machamp (her championship title), Tinkaton, Gallade (given to her as a Ralts by her parents as a kind of "seeing eye pokemon" that she turned into a fighter. Kept an everstone on it until she joined the gaang), Bewear (another gift from parents, but this time as more like a bodyguard.)

Zuko- Pyroar M (prince), Doublade (swords), Ceruledge (blue spirit), Annihilape (anger issues), Alolan Marrowak (mom issues), Kommo-o (dragon)

Suki- Mienshao, Urshifu (I want her to have 3, but couldn't think of a good 3rd one, except maybe she has both forms of Urshifu?)

FIRE NATION

Iroh- Drampa (old man/dragon, often underestimated), Turtonator (fire dragon), Polteageist (tea), Emboar (they have the same body type lol), Darmanitan (zen), Kingambit (I know pai sho isn't chess, but it's the closest we got, ok?)

Ozai- Houndoom, Infernape, Moltres? (The comet?), Magmortar, Zoroark (trickery), Mabosstiff?

Azula- Luxray, Pyroar F, Morpeko, Jolteon, Flareon, Chandelure? (Blue fire)

Mai- Salazzle, Umbreon, Malamar

Ty Lee- Mr Mime, Oricorio-baile style, Eevee

Zhao- Blaziken, Talonflame, Incineroar, Armarouge

OTHER

Notable extras:

• Use Hypnos in Ba Sing Se for the conspiracy

• Sand benders (Si Wong tribes) use Hippopotas, Palosand, and Sandiles mostly

• Wan Shi Yong is an Alpha Noctowl

• Foggy Swamp Tribe use mostly Ludicolo line, Carnivine, Poliwag line, and Tangrowth lines, but any swampy pokemon will do. Bugs are common.

• As Lee, Zuko only uses his Doublade and Marrowak

• I want Spark Sparky Boom Man to use an Unown with a max power psychic type Hidden Power, but I don't know enough about Hidden Power mechanics to be sure that would work.

• Does penguin sledding use Delibird, Eiscue, or the Piplup line? These are the important questions!

• I purposefully made it so only the main characters/bad guys had more than 3 pokemon.

• I almost gave Zuko a Rayquaza, but he wouldn't have a legendary until he becomes Fire Lord

• Except for the Bouffalant, all Aang's pokemon can fly. (Regional varient that can fly?)

• As he is the Avatar, should all Aang's pokemon be shiny?

• Azula's crew all have an eeveelution. Azula has two, and I imagine the flareon used to belong to Zuko, but it was taken from him after the Agni Kai and banishment.

• Ty Lee wants to keep her eevee unevolved. Azula might convince her to "make it more powerful." If she does, it'll be a Sylveon.

• Zuko and Azula's mom got both of them a litleo each as kids.

• Fire Nation mostly use fire types, but electric are common enough. Earth Kingdom is mostly ground and rock, but steel is ok. Air Nomads obviously use mostly flying, but fairy is common. Water Tribes use mostly water and ice, but obviously the swamp tribe uses grass.

• The Earth King still has just a bear. It's not a pokemon. It's a bear.

Violet is a Pokémon trainer that after journeying quite a few regions decided to settle down and live deep in the woods where no one would bother her.

She was born in Glitch City and assumes that is the reason that her shadow is all glitchy and pixelated.

She visits the main part of the unknown region she resides in from time to time, but mostly keeps to her self and uses a tumblr blog to substitute human interaction. She was in Sinnoh during the Space Time Incident and that is where she got Charlie. She is known to be carefree, reckless, and antisocial. Also she’s 6’8. Please let me know what the fuck this woman eats and how can I get some?

the gold queen of iron island.

the steelix that lurk under the rich iron deposits of the aptly named iron island are not unlike those onix that roam under oreburgh’s ore deposits in that the steelix have developed a red tint in their luster from the hematite itself that is in abundance ( the onix, respectively, are slightly darker from consuming coal and it’s derivatives ). these steelix are seldom seen aside from the depths of the cave systems that they themselves have also burrowed over centuries of inhabiting the area, and it is a point to specify to visitors of iron island that such ‘mons are wild, and they can be destructive if threatened. 

the oldest known steelix is stuff of legends, and even just a statistical coincidence. but the rock family has seen her once in a blue moon. the steelix herself, an alpha, shiny, rarely surfaces. the rock family has rarely seen her, even in the depths of the cave systems beneath the island. not a noodle to play with or try to catch. she’s the matriarch of the steelix in that area, earned her worth, and has been chummed up as one of the token cryptids of iron island.

I just had a thought. Orre!Akari lived in The Under, right? D&P had something vaguely similar with the Underground, the subterranean tunnel network that spans all of Sinnoh, one that is suspiciously regular in shape, and has a tradition of traps and secret bases. It might be my exhausted brain again, but what if Orre!Akari was the one to start digging the Underground in the first place? It probably started small, with the help of some digging Pokémon like an Alpha Steelix or something. (1/?)

THAT IS SO COOL!! Orre!Akari being the one to originally dig those tunnels that you can go through in Diamond and Pearl?? I LOVE THAT

She did come from The Under! She felt more at home going through Wayward Cave (even if home wasn’t kind to her) and was like “I want more of this”

There is a quest in the Fieldlands where there is an alpha onix helping a person dig tunnels through rock, which I found very interesting; it’s eyes are flaring red, and you force a fight with it, but it’s not aggressive. It just wants to dig, and help the person in the tunnels with digging. It’s an “enraged” alpha, but it’s perfectly communicative and gentle. (Very interesting quest to me by the way)

Orre!Akari might be in a similar situation with an alpha steelix! She would absolutely love to dig out secret bases too, seriously!!

A, that is so perfect for Orre!Akari. She feels at home, she makes all the secret bases she could ever want, and she finds so many shiny, valuable things!! (As a kleptomaniac she would hoard them all haha)

Don’t worry at all about the rambling A, I loved reading this and it made my brain light up haha it’s so perfect. I spent a ton of time underground in those tunnels as well when I played the game, so it’s nostalgic for me too!

Then tell us a small bit about them. Things you can just grab out of memorie(if it's like with mine, where I have a lot of information, even just of memories, I am interested in learning about a lot of information)

Ok so I have some stuff so far, main fankid is Emily but there are two other less defined:

Emily/Kurabi(Japanese):

Deliberately named similar to Emmet because Ingo remembered him at that point

Red curly hair tied back in a bun

Tall

Gets into dangerous situations which frustrates her parents to no end, including harassing alpha pokemon and going into space time distortions

Loud

She has eyebrows but they’re very thin and hard to see

Mama’s girl 100% but she loves her dad too

Does a pose similar to Ingo’s but not quite the same

Loves battles

Her eyes are the same color as Ingo’s and they do the glowy kinda thing like his

Loud, possibly even hard of hearing so she has to compensate

She trains her pokemon ALL. THE TIME. Battling is her life and if she isn’t at the training grounds she’s out in the wild looking for pokemon to battle (hence why she gets into trouble so much)

Can and will fight a Wydeer with her bare hands

Sneasler is her 3rd parent

Emily’s team:

Alpha Shiny Gengar she caught as a gastly in a space-time distortion when she was like 12 (I knooow), he’s her ace and she loves him to death

Blissey which she got as a toddler when it was still a happiny, from her father because he KNEW she was gonna get into stupid shit

Sneasler, duh

Hisuian Zoroark which she got as a Zorua, I can’t decide whether it was a gift from her dad or she caught it herself

Borrows her mom’s steelix who also keeps her out of trouble

I sorta imagined an AU related to the legends Orre au I made where she shows up looking for her uncle Emmet and she picks up a fairy/fire chandelure she names chandy (her only pokemon she caught fully evolved)

I feel like her team would be stupidly broken in some respects but in others she would have a lot of weaknesses (ground, water, flying, fighting and electric? I think?)

Jesus god the shinies are trying to give me heart failure in this game... Just found my first Chimecho of the game, as a shiny, Right in front of an Alpha Steelix. No cover in sight. No clue if Chimecho flee upon sighting the trainer.

I pulled out all the stops and managed to catch it but dear god I was sure I was gonna die from heartbreak or Steelix Fury or Both

Found my first shiny in a mass outbreak with kricketot today and also a random shiny onix right after catching an alpha steelix that i managed to catch unawares. and i ain’t even done with the main story yet.

- takes place in the adoption au with @electrivolt + @dynastower bc we said no, volk can’t be well-adjusted - it’s basically reverse hisui with mine boy’s main canon - keeps his memories, dropped off in the middle of the obsidian lowlands - tybalt is with him ( not ramses i know but by god one head smash and he’s ohko’d ) - endgame party: luxray ( alpha? shiny? ), growlithe ( preserving the custody battle of course ), kleavor, avalugg, staraptor, steelix ( alpha )  maybe a BFB [big fucking basti]??? ( i might totally retcon this later but roark would really go fucking bananas over more rock types ) - tries to nestle himself into jubilife because he’s incredibly useful but he’s not often there much, going out and typically away in the wilderness to find more rare ores to bring back. a little side hustle with the ginkgo guild mayhaps - tybalt scares the ever-loving fuck out of jubilife residents, even those originally from johto, so... he’s considered a safety hazard - figures out the distortions are his way back when he finds the dinos and the cows, gets a little too reckless about it - :) npc zoroark :) bothers him instead as volkner, frequently getting into altercations with it and certainly living to tell the tale :) but at what cost :) - certainly depressed as hell! but he’s managing? ( at least birdy can be with him sometimes! ) iron island taught him well - mostly found in the highlands, or traveling between there and jubilife unless he comes across a research post - nearly ohko’s a few times, u kno, just hisui tingz - GROWLITHE FIT - may or may not have come back with fossils - may or may not end up with a small herd of cows and dinos later in the year
