There is no single form of sociality. Different species, with different needs, have found a variety of solutions for increasing their group size and range. In addition, the rules of behavior of each may be different. In this blog, I will describe some general forms of association that are appropriate for the needs of the species. Seasonal Breeding: Males Disperse This is the simplest mode of animal cohesion which operates for a wide range of mammals, and birds that breed at the same time each year. The advantage of seasonal breeding is that it allows the birth of the next generation, at the most benign season of the year, the best chance for the vulnerable infants to thrive. Vegetarian mammals and many birds depend on an abundance of grasses, leaves, and seeds in the springtime for their fodder. Autumn mating is the ideal time to allow the mother to gestate when she has already built up her reserves. Many social species break up at the end of the mating season to form separate bachelor herds of males that disperse from their partners, while nursery herds of females remain in their territory. Any hypotheses of animal sociality need to accommodate the change from intersexual attraction in the mating season to single-sex herds during the rest of the year. Experimental studies by scientists have shown that various sheep spontaneously segregate into two separate herds, even when their pasture is devoid of other features.1,2 These studies also show their awareness of their neighbors by synchronizing their periods of rest and grazing. The scientists have interpreted their results in terms of a social preference for association with their own gender. Assays of many different hormones in this class of species have revealed a specific candidate for explaining both the herd formations and the breakup of cohesion among males at the approach of the breeding season. Seasonal Breeding: Alpha Males form Mixed-sex Group with a Harem of Females; Unattached Males Disperse The members of this group are large vegetarian mammals including horses, camels, impala, and peccaries that resemble those described above. The breeding parameters are similar, but they differ from them in a particular way. One or two dominant males guard a small group of females in the off-season known as a harem group, while the residual males form a bachelor group similar to that above. Although the difference between the two forms of sociality may appear slight, the motivations for this society are quite different. The bachelor males have not dispersed voluntarily, but have been exiled from the females. Nevertheless, they still form a herd that is presumably controlled by a similar proximity reward. They maintain a distant contact with the harem, and individuals may replace any dominant male who is lost from the herd.3 On the other hand, the dominant males chose to live with the pregnant females and adjust to the foraging patterns of the female colony. We may expect that the appropriate hormones which are responsible for sociality in each herd will retain a degree of opposite-sex attraction and, therefore, the seasonal changes are less pronounced than in the previous category. The data will show that this is indeed the case. In the book, I have identified one specific hormone that fulfills the role of controlling sociality for both categories of sociality described above. It responds to the needs of the animal by synchronizing precisely both in magnitude and in time with the mating period and with the separate social one. Technology is the application of knowledge to production. Thanks to modern technology, we have been able to increase greatly the efficiency of our work force. New machines and new methods have helped cut down time and expense while increasing overall output. This has meant more production and a higher standard of living. For most of us in America, modern technology is thought of as the reason why we can have cars and television sets. However, technology has also increased the amount of Old School Runescape Gold food available to us, by means of modern farming machinery and animalbreeding techniques, and has extended our life span via()medical technology.
Will mankind continue to live longer and have a higher quality of life? In large measure the answer depends on technology and our ability to use it widely. If we keep making progress as we have over the past fifty years, the answer is definitely yes. The advancement of technology depends upon research and development, and the latest statistics show that the united States is continuing to pump billions of dollars annually into such efforts. So while we are running out of some scarce resources  we may well find technological substitutes .
Therefore, in the final analysis the three major factors of production (land, labor and capital) are all influenced by technology. When we need new skills on techniques in medicine, people will start developing new technology to meet those needs. As equipment proves to be slow or inefficient, new machines will be invented. Technology responds to our needs in helping us maintain our standard of living.

The SeaWorld Deal to End Captive Breeding Is Just the Start
A profound shift is under way in corporate attitudes toward the treatment of animals.

SeaWorld’s March announcement that it would immediately cease breeding orcas and adopt other substantial reforms for animal welfare created more than a splash in the global media. It was the latest in a series of major corporate announcements—within the realms of live animal entertainment, food and agriculture, animal testing and science, fashion and wildlife management, and the pet trade—revealing a tangible shift in how we treat animals.
Businesses on the wrong side of the animal welfare debate are switching sides and increasingly aligning their practices with consumer sensibilities. As I write in my new book, The Humane Economy, there’s still so much work to do and so many causes of cruelty, but this broad-based progress is invigorating and indicative of the larger trajectory of animal welfare in our society.
When I joined SeaWorld’s relatively new chief executive, Joel Manby, to announce its package of reforms—including advocacy campaigns to fight shark finning and commercial whaling and sealing, as well as efforts to protect our coral reefs—we both said this was the start of our relationship and not the end. We had been in discussions for months and agreed that SeaWorld needed to be an advocate for marine creatures and the oceans, because they are under siege from a range of direct and indirect human-caused threats.
Together we are now backing federal legislation—with Republicans and Democrats—to ban imports or interstate sales of shark fins in the United States. We plan to put our shoulders behind similar legislation in Florida and other key coastal states. Manby and I both see the day, in the not too distant future, when we can reduce the total number of dead sharks worldwide by tens of millions.

He definitely doesn’t seem like a yakuza.
But he’s next in line for his clan.
If you get on his bad side, he’s much more intimidating.

Oshiro was really great at patching people up.
She enjoyed being able to help people.
Though she also will lecture people on how to stay healthy.
Ikuo Nakamura (Lucky Student):
Nakamura’s luck isn’t a huge factor in his life.
At least, not that he knew of.
Nor would he let it control his life.
Kagami Saito (Photographer):
All of her photos seemed perfect, even without photoshop.
That was how she liked it.
Taking pictures made her happy, perfectly calming.
Hayao Maeda (Reserve Course):
Maeda really hated being in the Reserve Course.
He was sure he was meant for the Main Course.
Being stuck where he didn’t belong sucked.
Utako Hamasaki (Swordswoman):
Hamasaki had always loved working with swords.
Working with her swords was a great way for her to clear her mind.
Not to mention, it made her stronger.
Yasu Kadoshima (Imposter):
While Yasu has her own identity, she also can take anyone else’s.
She always made sure not to use her skills for anything bad.
Rather, it’s more for fun at times.
Hanayo Sasaki (Gamer):
Sasaki loved games like Animal Crossing.
But she was good at any game she tried playing.
She preferred the calmer ones, though.
Takeshi Matsumoto (Breeder):
He lived out with a lot of animals, and learned about them out there.
He ensures that any breeding is healthy.
And all the animals he knows trust him.
Kirika Rikimaru (Princess):
She acts a lot like a princess formally would.
Though she, thankfully, has common sense.
She can be a bit bratty at times.
Kazuhiko Ikeda (Team Manager):
While he’s laid back, he’s great at managing teams.
Though credit for the victories go to the athletes.
All he did was cheer them on, really.
