People who are saying now is not the time for Buck and Eddie to get together, I think that's wrong.

Now, would have been the perfect time.

IF TIM MINEAR DIDN'T COME AND RETCONNED 6 SEASONS OF CHARACTERS DEVELOPMENT!

Eddie was post therapy, he was happier, he was ready for whatever was coming next, at first with Buck until he slapped him in the face with that "I feel like she sees me" crap line.

And Buck would have gone through his own process, of dealing with his death and discovering his sexuality, and S7 finale would have been THE TIME to get it right and step in the buddie direction.

What happened though was more like this - Here's male Abby, he will see Buck as a sex object and not make much effort, because like Abby he just wants someone to wear his sexy underwear for and get down and dirty even though Buck has not even officially popped his gay cherry (I am astonished it hasn't even been discussed or researched on the show yet, but he's having dinner at the loft with T and get a daddy joke while trying to be serious and vulnerable.)

And on the Eddie front was more like - Here's Ana 2.0 - she will be a wall flower and kinda get cheated on by the blonde ghost of his ex-wife. She will be gone with no explanation, because she didn't mean anything to begin with other than be a hand bag for a while and then blonde Shannon will haunt Eddie for real against his will and cause a tear between him and his son as dessert for an already terrible season.

So no, it's not true that now is not the time for them to get together, because the only time either Buck or Eddie made sense and felt like a familiar echoes of themselves is when they were together playing off each other.

Eddie doesn't need therapy, we just need to wake up from this nightmare and reset back to the end of S6.

people will really say eddie is a bad partner for buck bc he’s got repressed feelings, PTSD, and mental health issues, while simultaneously saying that someone who has actively dismissed buck’s interests, been condescending, and was actively complacent in workplace racism is his “forever love” and “his soulmate.”

they argue that we aren’t giving tommy room to grow and be developed when the show has not even tried to do so, and had continually isolated him as this uninterested 3rd party who does not matter past him kissing buck.

eddie is extremely repressed, and has so much trauma from his past that has kept him bottles up for decades— these are feelings he has only ever been comfortable enough to show to buck… a clear indication that clearly there is something there to examine. his past relationships have always failed because they were built off of a sense of obligation, not actually feelings. No that is not bthe fault of any of his LI’s, but that is also not his fault that he feels pressured into doing that to begin with. The only people he has ever fully been himself around and has felt fully comfortable with opening up to have been buck and christopher. He is a different person with buck than he is with any of his LI’s.

He is also one of the only people who views Buck for who he really is. To eddie, buck is not a figure in his life, he is not some role to fill, he is an equal in every way. This would not change if they were to persue a relationship. Buck and Eddie genuinely are the only ones who have ever been able to match each other’s energies in a way that transcends friendship and a working partnership. Once eddie realizes why his past relationships haven’t worked he will realize that buck is who he needs.

And when Buck realizes he is more than just face value, more than “defective parts,” more than a pretty boy, more than his reckless behavior, and that he deserves someone who actually sees him as an equal, then he will fully be able to thrive in a relationship. He does not need someone who wants him to fit a mold (taylor, after they started to fuck her character over), he does not need someone who views him as reckless (ali and taylor), he does not need someone who is only interested in his trauma and near death experiences (natalia), he does not need someone who is constantly talking down to him and shows no interest in him past kissing (tommy)

he needs someone who trusts him with his soul, someone who has his back… someone with whom he can do the same. and that has always been eddie. we have seen it time and time again that their other relationships are never compatible in the end— but that isn’t because they are “just bad at relationships.” it’s because they are both more committed to each other than they can ever be to anyone else, and nothing will change that, and until they realize that they are still going to run through failed relationships. until they realize that they are who each other needs, they are going to continue breaking hearts/getting their heart broken.

anyway sorry for the rant, i just get tired of seeing the argument that eddie would somehow be a bad partner for buck when he’s the only one who has ever matched buck’s energy and actually saw him for him rather than some other version of him, and vice versa.

i’m about to say something i’m sure a lot of people don’t want to hear, but i truly cannot fathom the hold tommy kinard has on half this fandom. he is more of a cardboard cutout of a character than anything. the majority of the (very little) time he’s been on screen, he’s been more irritable than likable. the closet comment on their first date? sure, let’s say something like that in front of buck’s best friend and potentially out him. tommy of all people should’ve understood that it is a struggle to accept your sexuality. the daddy issues comment?? CRAZY in the context of the situation, and in no way the serve he thought it was. tommy has mentioned he’s jealous of buck twice now, and yet people still don’t see the red flags of it all. not to mention his past of racism and sexism, which most conveniently brush aside. though god forbid, the person who acted like this was a woman. the pitchforks for her character would of been immediate…

Season 4 is still in play in Season 7 which means the SHOOTING IS TOO!

The above video includes two scenes, one from 4x8 and the other from 7x6. In both scenes Buck tells Eddie that he's late and they are parallels.

The shooting was the moment that Buck's heart fell out of his chest and Eddie wanted nothing more than to be with Buck. However, at the end of season 6, it seemed like all was lost with the F*X network foolery and everything else but TM is once again showing the audience that Buck and Eddie are PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER in every way possible including down to the scripts which is demonstrated when they say their lines. Buck's statement to Eddie when he enters the room is the same in both scenes which illustrates how they're parallels.

4x8 - Eddie was late because he was dating AF.

Buck: "You're late!"

Eddie: "There was construction on sunset I had to take a detour. Christopher already in bed?"

7x6 - Eddie's late because he's dating M (no last name) but also because he was hanging out with TK first before Buck was bothered and bewildered and thought he was trying to get TK's attention (He wasn't! He was trying to get Eddie's attention).

Eddie: "Hey!"

Buck: "You are late!"

Eddie: "I had to drop off Christopher at his cousins."

In 4x8, when Eddie came home after Buck and Chris called him because he was supposed to be reading Chris a bedtime story, Eddie walked in and Buck told him he was late. Eddie's excuse was there was construction on Sunset and he had to take a detour. The detour was Ana.

In 7x6, Buck's going to tell him he's late again but there are two differences. First, it's the way Buck says Eddie's late. It's different than it was before and second, Eddie's response this time will be that he had to take their son Chris to his cousins. Buck and Eddie will be together at the bachelor party but they're both taking detours this time. Except Buck's detour is with TK who tried to date Eddie first and Eddie's is with M who he's ready to breakup with.

In 4x8 Buck was babysitting Chris but in 7x6 Maris*l won't be even though she did in 7x4 whenever Eddie went out with T*mmy.

Please understand 9-1-1 is still showing the audience that EDDIE DIAZ is the love of Buck's life and EVAN "BUCK" BUCKLEY is the love of Eddie's.

It appears this TK (not Taylor but T*mmy) will be the LAST DETOUR for both of them on the way to BUDDIE CANON.

the thing about bummy that fucks with me is that it could have been a good ship but the writers (and that one guy) have consistently fucked them over throughout the season. it’s the fact that they’re trying to claim that bummy have this close, intimate relationship without showing us any vulnerability or intimacy.

how am i supposed to ship and defend them when there’s nothing for me to grasp onto? so many moments that could’ve deepened both their romantic relationship and tommy’s character were wasted and instead we got dry humor and sarcastic comments that always fall flat. tommy has spent the season dismissing buck’s feelings and dampening his excitement but shippers will act like the man made the sun rise and the stars shine.

Before the finale I've seen a lot of speculations about the Bummy break up.

But I don't think the pilot has enough emotional inteligencie to realize Buck and Eddie are in love. Or cares enough to be jealous.

I want Buck to dump his ass because he realizes the pilot doesn't really care about him, just like Abby didn't. Is dismissive of him and his feelings like Taylor. And doesn't care to get to really know him like Natalia.

Even if I don’t like them, my petty self wanted more of Bummy on screen compared to what we got.

I’m pretty sure if we saw more of their suppose relationship on screen, the lack of chemistry will have been more evident.

The fact that all of their scene was short and we could see there was no chemistry, imagine how bad it would have been with longer scene.

Right now, it’s funny how they are trying to justify 10 minutes of screen time and are accepting it so easily. (Lou is not a good actor and doesn’t to want to be involved.)

I was wondering this too. Because if you remember, Edy acted like this around the time I believe she would have found out her time was coming to an end and then went on her phonic rampage and then started blocking everyone calling her out.

I’ve also already seen one of the bigger toxic bummy fans, jakefromstatefarm, trying to say Lou clearly didn’t post it and he was obviously hacked 💀 (should we place bets on how long before they latch on to that and twist it to say a Buddie fan hacked him 🙃)

That's what I was thinking too about Edy. I also saw that tweet from that anti Buddie account jakefromstatefarm (they used to be a big Buddie shipper btw). I'm positive they'll blame our fandom for Lou allegedly being hacked but here's the thing there's no proof it happened. Even if he comes out to say he was hacked I honestly won't believe it. The tweet he put out was too weird and too deliberate for it to be a hack.

Think about it this way.

Anyone who is going to go to the trouble to hack a low level celeb like LFJ would have to be someone from the 911 fandom. If it was a Buddie shipper they're not going to hack in to post some weird insta thing that could be misinterpreted. They're either going to post something about how Lou has been fired or T*mmy was killed off or they would post something super outlandish that couldn't be misread any other way. Like support for n*zis or something.

If it was a B/T shipper they obviously wouldn't post something that would make him look bad. They would post something that said like I just got the early script for s8 and B/T are moving in together or whatever.

In either scenario what he posted doesn't fit with someone hacking him. It clearly was something he posted because he's pissed people brought up his old insta garbage. I think he thought he was being funny only it just made him look worse. And people already were looking at him sideways after his cameo defending T*mmy's racism and bullying and after those messed up insta posts surfaced so this certainly didn't help him.

Buck and Eddie had a blast when they partied like it was 1999 in 7x6!

Be clear, Buck and Eddie have had many dates in CANON but the majority of them happened at the loft or at Eddie's house while they were spending family time with Chris and when Buck took his husband Eddie and their son Chris to Equine Therapy in 5x14.

However, the truth is they've had two official dates where they went out and it was just the two of them; one was in 6x13 when they went to the Poker Game (related posts linked here and here) and the second one was in 7x6 after Chimney didn't show up for the bachelor party (video above).

Reminder, in 6x17, Buck told Eddie he sucked at dating (related post linked here) but the truth is they only suck at dating when they date other people, i.e., Buck when he dates/dated Abby, Ali, Taylor, Natalia and now T*mmy; and Eddie when he dated Ana, Marisol and Kim (Shannon is not included because they never really dated since they met in high school and got married after he got her pregnant).

Buck and Eddie's dates go very well when they date each other.

We Buddie shippers were robbed of the karaoke scene (clip of it linked here) but from the few snippets that were included in 7x6, it's easy to see Buck and Eddie were having the time of their lives together. They were sitting on top of each other like they always do and they were pressed together from their shoulders to their knees.

Furthermore, they share EMOTIONAL AND ROMANTIC CHEMISTRY that's filled with SEXUAL TENSION and it's unmatched by any interactions they've had with any of their previous love interests.

The kitchen scene proved that and neither of them took off a piece of clothing but it was the hottest f~cking scene in the history of 9-1-1. Also, please note, it didn't include any "daddy kink jokes" because they weren't needed👀!

All they have to do is look at each other and nothing else matters.

Buck has only flirted and pursued Eddie Diaz and HE'S NEVER CONFUSED WHEN HE DOES IT (post linked here)! After looking at the totality of their interactions in CANON, a person would have to be totally oblivious, in denial, blind or actively choosing to misunderstand that Buck and Eddie are in love with each other. They're the love of each other's lives and NO ONE, including T*mmy Kinard will EVER BE ABLE TO COMPARE OR COMPETE!
