Hi again Sarah! My Indian films rec list just got super long cos of all the tropes and summaries so I'm making it into a proper post I can tag you in!
While I do that, here are my top five faves from both Bollywood and Kollywood (Tamil films) respectively:
Bollywood:
- Dhoom 2 (2006); I'm actually rewatching this right now and it's a SUPER fun, campy heist movie with a great soundtrack! The whole trilogy of movies are great but this one is my fave and they can all be watched as standalones
- 3 Idiots (2009); a modern classic that most people have heard of if they are casual fans of Bollywood. It takes place in an engineering college and has a super compelling plot I can't give away too much of
- Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008); It's a love story of an arranged marriage between a shy guy and this outgoing girl who kind of hates how quiet and introverted he is. And she thinks he expects her to be a traditional Indian wife so she kind of is sad abt being married. Then she goes to take dance lessons and in an attempt to connect with his wife, he goes to the lessons in disguise as a confident guy and they fall in love!
- A Bonus Rec: If you liked Aamir Khan (the lead actor in 3 Idiots) and Anushka Sharma (the lead actress of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi), they did a really adorable sci-fi movie called PK (2014) about an alien called PK who crashes into India and befriends a human lady. It's just such love letter to humanity and I LOVED Anushka's character back storyline in that movie, it changed my life ahahha
- Teri Meri Kahaani (2012); Heads up this does star Priyanka Chopra but before she became a Hollywood weirdo 😭 and back when she was super talented!! It also stars this really cute actor called Shahid Kapoor. These two play different characters in three different timelines and it explores the concept of soulmates and Hindu reincarnation!! Again CHANGED MY LIFE!
- Ram Leela (2013) or the longer title is Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. It's basically a hotter and older M18 version of Romeo and Juliet with a happy ending if I remember correctly! It starts Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh who fell in love on set (they were friends before that) and started dating just before the movie came out! They are now happily married 🥰
This got so long already hahaha I'll send you another ask with Tamil titles once you're ready for it! But these are all the fun titles I have loved, if you want more tragic ones (I love a good tragedy and having a good cry over movies), do let me know and I'll give you that list!
amazing thank you! i'm about to head to bed but i wanted to respond and let you know i got this, you can send me that list whenever you want no pressure, but these all sound really interesting! so i'll put them on my list of movies to watch!

Top Designers of India: Shaping Fashion and Aesthetic Landscapes
Tumblr media
India has a rich history of craftsmanship and textiles, making it a fertile ground for the top designers of India who draw inspiration from its cultural diversity, traditional heritage, and modern sensibilities. Over the past few decades, several Indian designers have not only made a mark within the country but have also gained global recognition. Their work bridges the gap between tradition and modernity, blending the essence of Indian textiles and techniques with contemporary design. This blog explores some of the top Indian designers who have shaped the fashion and design landscape both in India and globally.
1. Sabyasachi Mukherjee
When talking about Indian designers, Sabyasachi Mukherjee is an unmissable name. Known for his deep-rooted love for Indian heritage, Sabyasachi's work revolves around reviving traditional crafts and textiles, making them relevant in modern fashion. His collections often feature intricate embroidery, hand-woven fabrics, and vintage aesthetics that draw from India’s rich cultural history.
Sabyasachi is particularly famous for his bridal collections. His bridal lehengas and sarees are coveted for their regal and timeless quality. He has dressed several Bollywood stars, including Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, and Anushka Sharma, for their weddings, making his label synonymous with high-end bridal wear. His collaborations with global brands like Christian Louboutin and Pottery Barn have cemented his name on the international stage as well.
A key element of Sabyasachi’s work is his storytelling. His designs are often seen as a narrative, each piece telling a story of its own. Through his Instagram and marketing campaigns, he creates a visual world that captivates the imagination of fashion enthusiasts.
2. Manish Malhotra
Manish Malhotra is perhaps the most celebrated designer in Bollywood. His work as a costume designer in the film industry has earned him a distinct place in Indian fashion. Malhotra has designed costumes for some of the most iconic Bollywood films, including "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham," and "Kal Ho Naa Ho."
Beyond his work in films, Malhotra's bridal and couture collections are well-known for their glamour, opulence, and attention to detail. He frequently uses luxurious fabrics like velvet, silk, and brocade, embellished with crystals, sequins, and heavy embroidery. His designs are characterized by a perfect blend of tradition and modernity, making him a favorite among brides and celebrities.
Manish Malhotra's contribution to the fashion industry goes beyond just design. He has also been a pioneer in bringing Indian fashion to the global stage. His shows, both in India and abroad, have garnered significant attention, and his label is one of the most recognizable in the country.
3. Ritu Kumar
One of the pioneers of Indian fashion, Ritu Kumar, is credited with reviving traditional Indian crafts and textiles at a time when the fashion industry was predominantly Western-centric. She started her career in the 1960s when the Indian textile industry was struggling, and with her keen understanding of ancient art forms, she began working with local artisans to create beautiful handcrafted clothing.
Ritu Kumar's designs are known for their unique blend of contemporary and traditional styles. Her use of natural fabrics, intricate embroideries, and ethnic motifs makes her collections stand out. Over the years, she has built a reputation for producing exquisite bridal wear, elegant sarees, and ready-to-wear collections that appeal to a wide audience.
What sets Ritu Kumar apart is her commitment to sustainability and ethical fashion. She has played a key role in promoting slow fashion, ensuring that Indian crafts and techniques continue to thrive in a fast-paced, globalized world.
4. Tarun Tahiliani
Tarun Tahiliani is renowned for his luxurious and elaborate designs, often described as "India modern." He is one of the first Indian designers to have blended Indian textiles and draping with Western silhouettes and construction. His ability to merge Indian craftsmanship with modern trends has made him a trailblazer in the Indian fashion industry.
Tahiliani is particularly known for his bridal couture, which combines heavy embroidery, structured silhouettes, and innovative draping. His use of zari, zardozi, and chikankari work has set new benchmarks in bridal fashion. However, it’s not just bridal wear where he excels; his ready-to-wear collections also have a strong global appeal, and he has dressed several international celebrities.
In addition to his fashion label, Tahiliani has ventured into interior design, where his signature aesthetic—opulent yet modern—can also be seen.
5. Anamika Khanna
Anamika Khanna is a designer who is known for pushing the boundaries of traditional Indian wear. Her designs are often a confluence of Indian and Western fashion, resulting in fusion wear that is contemporary yet deeply rooted in tradition. She is particularly recognized for her signature dhoti pants, capes, and layered garments, which have become a trendsetter in modern Indian fashion.
Khanna was one of the first Indian designers to showcase her collection at Paris Fashion Week, putting her on the global fashion map. Her designs are bold and innovative, yet they retain a sense of Indian cultural identity. She frequently uses indigenous techniques like hand embroidery, but with a modern twist.
Her work is loved by fashion-forward celebrities, including Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, who often wear her designs at high-profile events.
6. Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla
The design duo of Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla is known for their flamboyant, extravagant, and quintessentially Indian designs. They are celebrated for their use of chikankari, zardozi, and mirror work, which they have elevated to a form of high art. Their designs often feature a rich color palette, intricate embellishments, and a timeless appeal, making them a favorite among Bollywood celebrities and international clients.
Their couture is often seen at big Indian weddings, film premieres, and on red carpets. Over the years, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla have developed a signature style that is opulent, traditional, and luxurious, yet surprisingly wearable.
7. Masaba Gupta
Masaba Gupta, the daughter of actress Neena Gupta and cricketer Vivian Richards, is one of the most exciting young designers in India. She is known for her quirky and bold designs, often featuring playful prints and unconventional color combinations. Her work is a reflection of her modern, eclectic style, which appeals to young, fashion-forward women.
Masaba's brand is one of the most successful contemporary labels in India. She has been a trailblazer in using digital prints and sustainable fabrics, making her label both stylish and eco-friendly. Masaba’s clothes are a reflection of her personality—fun, vibrant, and unapologetically Indian.
8. Rohit Bal
Rohit Bal is one of India’s most flamboyant designers, known for his bold and extravagant designs. His work often features intricate embroidery, rich fabrics, and a blend of traditional and contemporary styles. He has dressed some of the biggest names in Bollywood, including Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, as well as international celebrities like Uma Thurman.
Bal is known for his showmanship, and his fashion shows are often theatrical events that showcase his larger-than-life personality. His work has a regal quality, drawing inspiration from Indian royalty and traditional motifs, but with a modern twist.
Conclusion
India’s fashion landscape is as diverse and vibrant as the country itself, and its designers reflect this unique blend of tradition and modernity. From the opulent bridal wear of Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Manish Malhotra to the innovative fusion styles of Anamika Khanna and Masaba Gupta, Indian fashion is continuously evolving. These designers have not only influenced how India dresses but have also played a significant role in bringing Indian fashion to the global stage.

I have high standards.
Do I?
Everytime we watch a random couple reel where partner is putting in efforts for the person they love, the most common thing you'd read in comments is "Oh they have raised my standards" or "Not going to settle until I find the person like him”.
And it is too good to be true.
No one these days want to settle for the bare minimum.
I use to think of myself the same.
“I have high standards”.
I just kept saying this thing to myself.
But when I actually took a decision to share a part of my life with someone else, I realised I don't have any standards in general.
The least I'd expect from them is being honest and loyal towards me and to update about their whereabouts.
And that's the bare minimum. The literal bare minimum.
I realised I don't have standards in general. It's the Instagram that made me think that I've raised my bars very high.
Yes ofcourse my father treated me the best way possible - forget bare minimum, he literally did anything and everything that could make me feel like 'his princess'.
But that doesn't mean I can expect the same from my partner.
I prefer my mind to be realistic about everything instead of delusional.
I can't feed my mind that I'll only marry someone if that boy fills up this or that criteria.
Because somewhere we all girls know - fictional world is something else.
If you are getting that treatment in real life, than you are lucky (read God's favourite).
But not every girl in their future can get what they had dreamt of all their life long.
Not every boy acts like Virat Kohli or some Wattpad/movie hero to make you feel special.
Being too much delusional about things can only ruin it all later on. You will end up expecting too muchh from the partner.
Reality is somewhat different.
Because when you get married - you'd accept what you have.
You won't say at that moment, “no my man didn't call me from office just like Virat Kohli did to Anushka from field to share his win with her”.
And not to forget, if there are guys like Virat Kohli making weird faces on the video call while being on field and getting recorded, there are also guys like Rohit Sharma who'd scold the cameraman right away to record him impromptu.
Every person is different. Every person's profession is different. Every person's life is different. Then how come we can expect the same treatment?
At the end, it will all about adjusting to what your current life status is and not what others life looks like.
Afterall, it's your own story - it has to be different than others.

7 Comfort Movies
@hughungrybear ilysm tagging me in this
I'm not really on the movies side of media but I'll let y'all know that once upon a time when I was straight i was a movie freak okay so without further bs
(okay so I realised the movies I've watched are all in hindi💀 because I was a movie freak before covid and after that I started other language stuffs 💀 so)
1. Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan
Ayushmann Khurrana as Kartik Singh and Jeetu as Aman Tripathi
Tumblr media
this was the first queer movie I've ever watched. and this is also India's first mainstream gay movie. and the amount of comfort I got from this is unparalleled.
2. Taare Zameen Par
Darsheel Safary as Ishaan Awasthi, Aamir Khan as Ram Shankar Nikumbh (this man here is a genius. his stories are so good and has such nice social messages-)
Tumblr media
a little dyslexic boy is misunderstood by his family (as usual🙄) and is sent in a hostel BUT AN TEMPORARY ART TEACHER THERE UNDERSTANDS HIM
I can't watch this movie much because this makes me so sad and-
3. 3 idiots (jshdjddj I swear I didn't plan it on writing it at 3 it just happened)
R. Madhavan as Farhan Qureshi, Aamir Khan as Rancho and Sharman Joshi as Raju Rastogi
Tumblr media
I've lost count how many times I've watched this movie it's just so good. just the right amount of comedy and seriousness and it's about the pressure in the education system in a college setting
4. Chhichhore
too many actors so.. just a little tribute to the one who died trying. Sushant Singh Rajput as Aniruddh Pathak
Tumblr media

5. PK
Aamir Khan as PK, Anushka Sharma Jaggu AND Sushant Singh Rajput as Sarfaraz Usuf
Tumblr media

Empowering India’s Handloom Legacy: A Symphony of Tradition, Innovation, and Emotion
Tumblr media
Introduction:
India, a vibrant tapestry of tradition and modernity, annually pays homage to its rich heritage on August 7th, celebrated as National Handloom Day. This day is a vibrant celebration of the skilled handloom weavers who are not only custodians of our cultural legacy but also the backbone of our economy. With a theme that echoes the ethos of our times, the theme for 2023 is "Handlooms for Sustainable Fashion," underscoring the eco-friendly and sustainable aspects of handloom weaving.
History:
The roots of National Handloom Day intertwine with the Swadeshi Movement of 1905. Born out of a fervor to boycott British goods, this movement championed Indian-made products, placing handloom textiles in the spotlight. In 2015, the Government of India officially designated August 7 as National Handloom Day, a day now celebrated nationwide with diverse events and activities.
Significance:
National Handloom Day holds profound significance. It's a tribute to the centuries-old tradition of handloom weaving, an acknowledgment of the weavers' significant economic contribution, and a call to embrace sustainable fashion. Handloom textiles, crafted with natural fibers and traditional techniques, embody a commitment to minimal environmental impact.
Contributions of celebrities promoting handlooms in India:
A number of celebrities, including Alia Bhatt-who won the best actress honour at the National Film Awards for her powerful performance in Gangubai Kathaiwadi, Vidya Balan, Shilpa Shetty, Madhuri Dixit, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Taapsee Pannu, Kangana Ranaut, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, have been promoting handlooms in India. Alia Bhatt, for instance, has been a staunch supporter, wearing handloom sarees on red carpet events and advocating for the importance of supporting handloom weavers in various interviews.
How celebrities have contributed to promoting handloom in India:
Alia Bhatt has worn handloom sarees on several red carpet events, including the Cannes Film Festival. She has also spoken about the importance of supporting handloom weavers in interviews.
Vidya Balan is known for her love of handloom sarees and often wears them to award shows and other events. She has also launched her own collection of handloom sarees in collaboration with a handloom weaver.
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is another celebrity who is known for her love of handloom. She often wears handloom garments to events and has also collaborated with handloom weavers to design her own collections.
Deepika Padukone has worn handloom sarees to several red carpet events, including the Met Gala. She has also spoken about the importance of supporting handloom weavers in interviews.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu is a brand ambassador for Telangana handlooms and has been actively promoting handloom products through her social media platforms and appearances at public events.
Namrata Shirodkar has also been promoting handloom by wearing handloom sarees on various occasions and speaking about the importance of supporting handloom weavers.
These are just a few examples of the many ways in which celebrities are contributing to promoting handloom in India. By wearing handloom garments, speaking out about the importance of supporting handloom, and collaborating with handloom weavers, celebrities are helping to raise awareness of handloom and make it more popular among the general public.
India's Handloom Tapestry: Beyond Borders:
Indian handloom fabrics, with their unparalleled creativity and complexity, showcase the diverse terrains, languages, and cultures of the nation. From the Chanderi sarees of Madhya Pradesh to Narayanpet cotton handlooms, Kanjeevaram silks from Tamil Nadu, and the vintage Banarasi patola, each handwoven piece narrates a story of India's rich tapestry.
Telangana's Handloom Renaissance: Narayanpet's Ascent:
In the heart of Telangana lies Narayanpet, a bastion of handloom weaving. The state has emerged as a torchbearer for the handloom sector, exemplifying how dynamic officers like Hari Chandana IAS can orchestrate transformative change. Through initiatives like Aarunya, these officers are breathing new life into traditional weaving communities.
The Aarunya Impact: Resurrecting Weavers' Livelihoods:
Aarunya, under the guidance of Hari Chandana IAS, stands as a beacon of hope for Narayanpet's weavers. This initiative has not only revived traditional handloom practices but has also empowered weavers economically. By providing a platform to market their products, Aarunya ensures that the artisans receive due recognition and fair compensation for their exquisite craftsmanship.
Chenetha Mithra: Sustaining the Handloom Ecosystem:
Telangana's commitment to handlooms extends beyond rhetoric. Schemes like Chenetha Mithra provide subsidies of up to 50% and financial support for procuring raw materials. This proactive approach ensures the weavers' sustainability, nurturing an environment where tradition meets innovation.
e-Golkonda: A Digital Canvas for Handloom Artistry:
Telangana's foray into e-commerce with e-Golkonda is a game-changer. It not only promotes handlooms globally but also catalyzes a digital renaissance for traditional weavers. The fusion of technology and tradition is propelling Telangana's handlooms into the international spotlight.
Textile/Apparel and Handloom Park: A Renaissance Unfolds:
The Sircilla Textile/Apparel and Handloom Park is a testament to Telangana's commitment to its weavers. This initiative breathes life into the sector, providing a conducive ecosystem for creativity and sustainable growth.
Dynamic Officers: Catalysts for Handloom Renaissance:
Officers like Hari Chandana IAS epitomize the change-makers needed to propel India's handloom industry onto the global stage. Their innovative approaches, coupled with a passion for preserving tradition, are indispensable in steering the handloom renaissance.
Conclusion:
As India commemorates National Handloom Day, it's not just about threads and looms; it's a celebration of resilience, culture, and sustainable fashion. Dynamic officers, empowered initiatives, and a collective commitment are weaving a tapestry of hope for India's handloom legacy. In the hands of visionaries like Hari Chandana IAS, Narayanpet's looms are not just crafting fabrics; they're scripting stories of revival and triumph. The looms hum with the promise of a future where tradition and innovation dance hand in hand, taking India's handloom heritage beyond borders. Let us continue to support this invaluable industry, ensuring a flourishing legacy for generations to come.

Plot Synopsis
"PK" tells the story of an innocent and curious alien named PK, played by Aamir Khan, who arrives on Earth but loses his communication device (resembling a remote control) that he needs to return home. In his quest to retrieve it, PK finds himself in the midst of human society, navigating cultural diversity, religious beliefs, and societal norms.
Satire with a Heart
At its core, "PK" is a satirical take on the complexities of religion and belief systems. PK's childlike innocence and inquisitiveness lead him to ask profound and often uncomfortable questions about the practices of various religions, exposing the absurdity of some rituals and customs. The film doesn't aim to mock but rather to encourage introspection and critical thinking.

Aamir Khan's portrayal of PK is nothing short of remarkable. His physicality, expressions, and mannerisms capture the essence of an otherworldly being trying to comprehend human behavior. And here they are ! : ) Cheers to all . And may the New Year bring peace and prosperity to all. And brilliance , radiance , love and poise , to the arts , and to all us lovers. Till next time..and hopefully THE INDIE’S ALL – TIME HINDIS , soon !
2019 ---
Hello friends! We meet again, as we do every end of year, to celebrate & reward the art of the year!
Yes, I remember stating last time that it may be the last edition of, “India’s Oscars” as I’ve heard many call it…yet, since Indie’s resolved ‘Indies All-time Hindis’ List taking more time than envisaged (100 Years of Hindi cinema, is bloody long!), decided that since movie reviewing happening incessantly (alongside other ‘living exigencies’ of course) anyway, as also for the current year.. what the heavens!!;
So here we go, tighten your seat belts, as we go for a little flying tour through the year’s national artistic clouds…& be assured plenty rains!
P.S. 1. A few alterations & additions from last year – 3 new categories introduced to encourage the film writing fraternity, namely Best screenplay, Best Lyrics, & Best Scene. And erstwhile ‘Best Designed Film’ renamed as ‘Best Visual Film’.
The award format albeit, same as refurbished from last year ie 10 main awards (incl joint awards) & 10 spl mentions thereafter in each category.
Considering the new format addition to films- The web series phenomena! Hereon, all film categories will auto-include web-series(seasons) for the year, looking at them as 4-5 times length films-in-one.
A separate 'Best Web Series' category will also be included though, for added perspective. No crying now. No guffawing. Erm Ok do that! & Nooo hitttting. Just pure unadulterated enjoying!

X) BEST SCENE :
1.Romeo Akbar Walter: Climax scene: Culminating in “He chose his motherland over his own mother!” To Vande Mataram reverberations!
The mini-battle btwn the measly 40-odd peasantry folk led by Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, guarding the provincial fort, against the mighty full British batallion.
Avuku Raju, the almost certain local traitor, at end of above battle, when comes behind the fleeing British, & to surprise of initially depressed village folk, turns against the British. And at the end comes across to Sye & says, "I always disliked you, Narasimha. For you were always better than me at everything I was good at. Narasimha chuckles Avuku: "But rest assured, I will go ahead of you, in this great noble path that is your's….one day!" To chants of "SYE SYE SYE RAA!!"
Narasimha Reddy's final speech at the gallows.
Uri-The Surgical Strike: The War Cry : “How’s The Josh!?”
Hope you folks had a great year enjoying the year's arts, & life in art… And wish you all a Great New Year 2020 up ahead!
Welcome to the Annual Bollywood Films & Web Series Awards, for the year 2020, all! Aptly described as ARGUABLY THE GREATEST YEAR FOR THE HINDI PARALLEL AND ALTERNATE CINEMA MOVEMENT!
Upon a slew of extraordinary stand-out super low budget gems, noted for remarkably gripping direction, as also in coming -of -age for the new King of Indian parallel cinema- Nawaz Siddiqui!…finally stepping up to carry the parallel film mantle, left & long voided by Naseeruddin Shah, with 3 extraordinary Indies in the yr!
As also rare achievement in this, the Ashes Era, for any film among the ~50-odd nominated, to mention this year's winner in particular, entering Indies All-Time Top 100! And a web series, finding pride of place, in Top 305 All-Time (combined)!
Furthermore, that web series era, gaining firm ground from previous yr, now coming to establish itself as space for true artistic inspiration & even gung ho chutzpah, behind as well as ahead of camera, allowing newer talent, & older divas, the space to rise up to the big screen/item challenge, differently, & in grand style & success!
P.S. : 1.Let be noted, though most widely reviewed & buzzed web series, been viewed & accommodated justiciably, a reasonable sum hasn't, for this already highly overworked team of Annual & All-Time film reviewers & compilers..& will be done justice to, if & when need arise!
Also, though Best film , Best Web Series & Best Screenplay (Film), been segregated, at the Indies, all other award categories, incl acting & directing haven't, going with Indie policy of treating Web Series (seasons) as quadruple-length films, deserving equal comparison, in technical if not effect zones!
Let's roll!

2021-
Welcome world, to another Year-End Awards Extravaganza.. "THE INDIES 2021", aka "THE INDIES ASHES 2021", also reputed as "THE BOLLYWOOD/HINDI OSCARS" !
Another highly satisfying year for both the Film & Web-Series spaces, operating for past half decade now within the Bollywood ecosystem.
The rating pts for era-ending director & actor rankings are as always : 1st place - 10.5 pts ; 2nd place - 4.7 pts ; 3rd place - 1.5 pts ; 4th place - 0.4 pts.
Also as always, just to remind Indie viewers, while Best Web Series & Best Film arenas are separate adjudications, being different effect zones… the creative aspects (ie direction & visuals & story & acts) are clubbed together, as the same for both.
And need we remind audiences of the age-old Indie motto, of rewarding quality not quantity, this year as a result producing one of the highest winners tallies at Indies, with 21 male & 14 worthy female performances, making the cut for the Indie Trophy!
This year noteworthy for producing some really outstanding performances even within the macho acting sphere, alongside some truly slice-of-life high professionals acting, alongside the inspirational orbit.
In films section, a peculiar time, in throwing up lots in really interesting & notable (even Indies award winning now!) 'Indie' work, lauded in the festival & international circuit, yet under the Indian masses radar, that hopefully the Indies Awards can help throw more light on. Also via web series arena, arising a critical mass of high concept content, necessitating a separate 'Best Story/Screenplay' Awards section!
P.S. : A peculiar trend emerging in Bollywood circles, for those keeping a keen eye on it, is the slew of (~ 50-70%) content equally dedicated to the LGBTQ, esp lesbian community & secondly the druggie communities. We'll leave it to the audiences to imagine if the truth lay in art imitating life or film industry life, or some sorta larger agenda at play. And ofcourse there be nothing wrong at all, in any content on LGBTQ community whatsoever, just an observation worthy of mention, given just its scale of representation!
So let's begin unravelling Bollywood 2021, per the Indie eye, now ! ! !

Wordpress blogpost for "The Indies 2021" !:
……….
And that's how 2021 ends for our esteemed & deeply evolving digital audiences, old & young alike !
So stay tuned for more Indie research into this hitherto uncharted tract, already more than halfway complete along it's gigantic mission !
Shabba Khair, Khuda Haafiz, Happy New Year, Jai Shri Ram, & Jai Shri Krishna, to you all !
2022-
Welcome one & all, to this, the 8th continuous year of the most prestigious & popular (contemporary) online annual Bollywood Film Awards, of the entire awards season, this whole decade-
The Indies.
NOTE: This year's scrolls, unlike past couple of years, do not include the web series segment, which saw it's boom period during the international pandemic induced lockdown for precisely those 2 years, a consequent dip in big quality film productions & produce, that in turn enabled lotsa screen talent to temporarily shift to the web space with much more confined production settings, causing lot more high quality & novel produce here…a level that's under normal circumstances since, somehow seen a drastic dip in collective work, thus causing Indies to take a call in favor of avoiding that segment entirely hereon, or atleast this year. That's not to say a few good productions may not've seen light of day, yet not enough to warrant a entire dedicated Indies awards show for the same.
As also no turnout worth any reckoning on the music front, putting paid to that space too for today.
A year marked most uniquely by the nationwide boycott of Bollywood films at the box office, done for a variety of reasons we can't precisely put a finger on, yet that had an extraordinary (read crippling) effect on overall Bollywood earnings for the year, yet since we're not in business of awarding business, rather awarding art, let's get back to our sole area of focus.
This year seeing a very strong showing from a few dubbed South Indian works (released in North & West Indian theaters), & few made in multiple languages incl of South, that not only escaped the boycott wrath, but also found favor on the art front here.
Around the same 30-odd films making it to the elite Indie watchlist here, as for most years, & a similar large pool of winners for all categories in keeping with the now worldly known 'no ceiling on quality' Indies philosophy, except the actresses section seeing only one winner after long!
So enjoy the year's best works in all different aspects, & merrily live the month & year away !
Here is your cream of creams!

Did Shubman Gill fall for Sara and Rashmika and keep shaking hands? A cricketer himself made a shocking revelation
Tumblr media
Shubman Gill and Rashmika Mandanna: The relationship between the world of cricket and the entertainment industry is very deep. The names of many veterans of the cricket world are associated with many actresses in the Bollywood industry. This list contains many love stories that have reached the wedding scene. There are many couples who have consummated their love through marriage, such as Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi-Sharmila Tagore, Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma, KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty. At the same time, Shubman Gill's name has also been discussed on this list for the past few days. Is Shubman Gill dating Rashmika Mandanna? Indeed, Shubman Gill's name has been making headlines for a while, alongside Sara Ali Khan and Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar's daughter Sara Tendulkar. At the same time leaving Sara, Rashmika Mandanna's name is in the news as Shubman Gill's girlfriend. Discussions of Shubman Gill and Rashmika Mandanna's love affair are all over the mouth from social media to the news aisles. In fact, the news about Shubman Gill is constant that he has said that Rashmika Mandanna is his crush. Now, the cricketer himself broke his silence about this news that is constantly going viral and surprised everyone with such an answer. Shubman Gill himself provided an answer regarding his relationship with Rashmika. While Shubh Mangal's remarks are quite disappointing, over the past few days Shubman has been breaking his silence by expressing his reaction to the continued association of his name with another actress. Meanwhile, Shubman replied to Instant Bollywood's paparazzi page, saying all reports about Rashmika Mandanna were false. The cricketer wrote about his report on Instagram: “I don't know what kind of media conversation this was. In that situation, the discussion about the suspense of her and Sara's name once again started again, although it became clear from the reaction of his latest statement that he does not love Rashmika Mandanna. Please note that Shubman Gill's name was not first associated with any actress but apart from Sara Khan and Sara Tendulkar, Shubman Gill's name was also associated with Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa.
