The Redanian Secret Service holds the belief that Jaskier is perhaps their most inept spy on record, primarily due to his notorious habit of encoding sensitive information within his whimsical ballads and sonnets. Consequently, when Geralt seeks to locate the bard, he encounters a frustrating dead end – no one within the service can provide a direct location, only the latest lyrical creation.
However, Geralt soon uncovers a surprising truth: Jaskier's seemingly nonsensical verses harbor a treasure trove of valuable intelligence. Upon deciphering the intricate rhymes and subtle references, Geralt realizes that Jaskier's songs serve as cleverly disguised guides, meticulously crafted to lead Geralt straight to him.
Armed with the clues embedded within Jaskier's compositions, Geralt embarks on a quest to track down the elusive bard, acknowledging the unexpected prowess hidden beneath Jaskier's seemingly bumbling façade.

Kaer Morhen in the winter was supposed to be a sanctuary, a haven of safety. It was the prospect of this security that had Geralt eagerly anticipating bringing Jaskier there. Initially, everything seemed fine, until Jaskier fell ill. Unfortunately, the potions available were tailored solely for witchers, leaving them powerless to aid a sick human. With the snow sealing off all paths, Jaskier's condition worsened until, tragically, he succumbed to it.
Though Geralt attempted to move forward, the arrival of spring only served to reopen the wounds left by Jaskier's passing. He found himself haunted by memories at every turn, unsure if he could ever return to Kaer Morhen, the place where Jaskier had met his end.
True to form, Vesemir was the first to arrive the following winter. While preparing for the season, he stumbled upon an egg unlike any he had encountered before. Intrigued, Vesemir decided to bring it indoors for further examination. Later that night, a loud crash drew him to the egg's location, only to witness its hatching, revealing a bird. Astonishingly, the bird transformed into none other than Jaskier, as if by some mystical force.
After exhaustive testing, Vesemir confirmed that the being before him was indeed the bard, albeit devoid of memories and resembling a newborn bird in both speech and movement.
A letter was swiftly dispatched, urgently summoning Geralt back to Kaer Morhen.
