Don’t think I ever quite said what my LGBTQ+ headcanons are for the boys, so these are my current thoughts! Always changing of course but this is what I feel most strongly right now.
#rottmnt#rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles#rottmnt headcanons#rise donnie#rise leo#rise mikey#rise raph#donnie and leo’s sexualities being practically swapped was unintentional but it works way too well#same with mikey and raph tbh it was a happy accident#anyway I kinda hc raph as the type who doesn’t care about physical appearance just if you fight lol#Mikey’s more than happy with friends and family#Donnie is a BIG romantic but he needs time to sus a person out fully before he gets the hots for them#leo meanwhile isn’t keen on romance unless it’s with someone he grows to really really REALLY trust#I could go on and probably will later (knowing me) but it is late and I am tired haha#turtle art tag#curious as to what everyone else headcanons#the only one of these I’ll defend forever is Bi (female-leaning) donnie and trans leo#all the others can change over time but I really like where they’re sitting right now#I hope these are the right flags too because it was kinda hard to find them#went looking for transmasc flag in particular but I couldn’t find a solid agreed upon version 😭#ngl a big part of why I hc mikey as aro is because of a pun#my phone often misspells aromantic as aromatic and- and you get it- because aromatic herbs and- and Mikey is a chef do YOU GET IT#note that while I hc leo as bisexual (male-leaning) I still think he’s prob closer to demi in that as well just not as far into the spectrum#if that makes sense#headcanons are fun and hard to narrow down at the same time alas#I made this in like an hour can you tell djjdjd#I drew them all from memory so if there’s anything wrong…shhh#and if you’re wondering for April and Splinter#Both are Bisexual (female-leaning) but April is also Panromantic#I almost wanna make Splinter demiromantic too so Big Mama’s betrayal hits just a bit harder

media studies people for some reason keep publishing articles about the colonial/imperial problems with data collection & information science. my question is who asked you
#like I’m searching for methodological solutions to these problems I don’t need you to tell me data extraction is implicated in colonialism#this is well know and has been well known for a long time! Merely asserting this fact is not helpful or noteworthy#I would be legitimately curious though as to why this is happening#I’m not a hardliner on staying in disciplinary lanes or anything but this keeps happening for some reason#specifically with media studies. & they just keep problematising information & geographic science and doing nothing else#which again is not helpful. that problematising was done like sixty years ago you’re late to the boat on this one

so from that kuukou sasara chapter from dod, kuukou’s ascetic training regimen goes something like
early morning waterfall training for an hour
meditation sessions
cardio via running thru forest terrain
walking thru fire and coal
midnight waterfall training
sleep for three hours and then rinse and repeat
no meals
all this for a week straight
and part of kuukou’s first bio was how he bested his father in presumably this regimen so i wonder where shakku taps out lol 🤔

reading a book that talks about places in agfhanistan and saudi arabia and being like hm. if i had a nickel every time i recognized a word from star wars is actually a slightly stylized western version of the names of places in the real world i’d have two nickles. which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice

#happy new year :)#I’m Scottish and I know what it is#I was my grandparents’ first foot#(for those curious: first footing is the first person to visit someone’s house in the new year and you’re expected to bring something like#food or drink. so I brought my grandparents some malteasers and mini eggs because they like them and it’s what we had.#obviously more traditional choices are available but you can be creative. my brother first footed my other brother and brought him two#firework rockets. so anything goes as far as I’m concerned)

Can you believe that I’m constantly working on all 15 ideas in my drafts right now, cuz I can’t.

Do…. Do people actually have an issue with stuff being written in present tense?
#I’ve heard of POV preference but seeing all these posts about how much people dislike present tense#maybe I’m just not an observant reader but I can count the number of times I’ve actively noted a book/fic’s tense on one hand#and almost always it was because I liked how it worked with the author’s writing style#you’re telling me people will consider dropping something JUST because it’s in present tense??#genuinely can someone explain this to me?#I know some people don’t like first person pov because it feels too close and ‘I’ didn’t do anything. the character did#(I don’t really see it that way and don’t mind first person though I prefer third person)#and second person pov is rare and people don’t like it for the same reasons (being told what they as a reader ‘did’)#(I personally like second person pov a LOT but also prefer it to be a little treat actually suited to the story)#but verb tense?? as long as it all works grammatically I don’t see an issue#a lot of the examples I see of how present tense doesn’t work is showing two paragraphs side by side in the past and present#and I will agree that the present reads worse comparatively#but also it’s because the sentences were obviously (at least imo) written and structured for past tense first#and then ‘translated’ to present tense if that makes sense#I personally like how present tense lets me play with my sentences#but also I know that when I play with time and have a character recount past events within their own internal musings I switch tense#which I would think is allowed?? but maybe that’s bad form and I’m proving the point why past tense is ‘superior’#(I don’t really care for fic writing purposes as long as it flows and isn’t distracting but who’s to say)#anyways this was long but yeah. genuinely curious about this one#white weasel talks#tbd probs
