Sleep Token Theory in TMBTE

The Apparition, Are You Really Okay?, and DYWTYLM are all connected and Vessel is singing to himself in all 3.

The Apparition is Vessel seeing himself through the traumatic events, like he's outside watching what was happening to him. Past Vessel, maybe before or during his relationship with Sleep? (or past lover, Eden, pick your player). He could be slowly losing his memories of the traumatic events, but he knows that something happened.

Are You Really Okay? is Vessel singing to his younger, child self. He knows his younger self is not ok, he knows he's lying when he says he's fine, but he can't help himself. Because it's already happened. Like when you get stuck in a trauma flashback, and you're replaying what happened, and you wish you could fix it but you can't. All you can do is plead.

And then DYWTYLM, as we have all seen, is Vessel singing to himself in the present, yearning for self love and acceptance. However, I think that it's the reflection singing to Vessel, not Vessel singing to his reflection in the mirror.

(this is all speculation and theory, lots of projection. I have no idea what I'm talking about sometimes and I'm reaching.)

so i was looking at the tmbte artwork and i noticed that ‘are you really okay?’ seems to be a mother?

like she’s pregnant (??) , cradling a baby in a mechanism connected to her stomach like an umbilical cord, so i wonder if the song is more of a parent talking to their child (especially the first line) instead of someone talked to a lost loved one (like common theory is that it’s abt the eden character). because, tw, i’ve been that kid, having to wake my mum up at night because i’m dying at my own hands, and the lyrics seem to fit that situation pretty fucking well lmao. but idk, again maybe i’m looking for symbolism that isn’t there, or maybe you guys figured this out months ago and i’m late to the game. what do you guys think?

okay i have more to say about are you really okay?

it hits so hard and cuts so deep because it’s straightforward lyrically

every other song is full of allegory and this beautiful, poetic imagery. everything he says comes through but it’s said in ways that are not overt

are you really okay? doesn’t follow that pattern. there is no allegory, there is no masking what that song is. and that is why it’s so emotional to me. it’s raw and bare and sad and desperate and it hurts so good

When this album came out and I looked at the track list, this one scared me. Not because I thought it would be bad (could you imagine sleep token releasing a bad song) but because I knew it was gonna be sad.

And God damnit was I right in being afraid of it cause holy shit this song is ROUGH.

My first listen, this broke me, and honestly, it still does sometimes. This is my only "skip" on the album, not because I dislike it, but because if I'm feeling down that day, this song WILL make me cry.

If you've heard Are You Really Okay, this would make more sense. If you haven't...this is Vessel with his arms dripping blood, falling back and looking up at the ever growing puddle of blood above him (you woke me up one night, dripping crimson on the carpet. I saw it in your eyes, cutting deeper than the scars could run) this song...those words, and the last line, saved my life and kept me from relapsing several this month.
