Salvador Dalí ‘The Lucky Number of Dali’ 1965

85, Dali’s magic number! He scribbles his name and his number all over the print, interweaving them with vibrant colors, explosive splatters, and calligraphic forms.

A strange cluster of lips and eyes seem to float in from the left order. Several circles and sun-burst-like forms explode across the picture surface.

We see a more playful side of Dalí, joyous but expressive as always.

"Um, Sunday... what are you doing...?" He chuckles, gently twirling the lock of hair between his fingers, "My apologies, some of your hair was stuck in your collar."

Sunday couldn't help the compulsion to fix it, to make sure things were in their proper placed, but now he's realized what he's done in order to correct that little fashion faux-pas— a subtly sweet tropical scent is filling his nostrils as his hand rests on warm skin that he would most certainly be touching if it weren't for the fabric of his gloves. His heartbeat quickens. To be this unaware of his own actions? This isn't like Sunday at all. "...are you making fun of me?" "...perhaps." It's a noncommittal response; he'd rather not disclose the truth. There's a pause as his answer is evaluated, then a sigh. "I could have fixed it myself, you know." "I am aware." "...well, thanks, I guess." Sunday smiles, "It was my pleasure." There's another pause, this one awkward. "So, um, you can let go." He retracts his hands and he immediately notices the disappearing warmth, immediately notices the fading scent, immediately realizes he wasn't quite ready to let go.
