5. What work are you most proud of (regardless of likes/reblogs)?

I really like these two birthday drawings I did for my original characters, Aster and Beauregard. My goal for 2023 was to draw and celebrate the birthdays of my OCs but i ended up putting too much pressure on me. sigh.

I really enjoyed the process of drawing these two. There was no pressure to make something look or feel a certain way since they are my own characters in their own universe :,)

14. What's one pairing/character/subject/body part/object you want to explore next year?

One thing I would like to try for next year is, implimenting my other interests in my art more - be it fanart or original art.

In one of my Anything But Human, haunting you, I drew this english countryhome and it was so fun and satisfying to me. I would like to feel more like that when creating art. I love drawing buildings, particular homes, and everyday spaces a lot.

Oh lawd! Lucy's tattoos for the most part are hidden to a degree. Chris doesn't just tattoo her body, it's like he's decorating her, enhancing her curves. Ransom doesn't know about a few certain piercings either. He does know and see the plethora of ear piercings she has. All of her body modifications are done by Chris. And he's just so sweet with her, minus the nipple piercings, he's kissed every single one of her piercings and tattoos when finished. However, the longer she's with him the more ink and holes she gets...and we know that there's a pool at the estate...and Chris lives there with Morningstar.

Lucy paddles over to Chris who's in the deeper part of the pool. Her little legs expertly swimming towards him, but he just keeps backing further away, "You better stop," she giggles and stops her movement. Pushing herself back to where she can touch, she pulls her top to the side exposing a pierced nipple.

"Woman!" Chris growls moving closer to her. "You shouldn't do shit like that when you're family is coming over today."

"I told you to stop," she pushes at his hard chest, but is unable to do anything. Connecting her own mouth over his piercing, just so she can hear him growl. His eyes look around the backyard, silence. Knowing that he might have just enough time to completely tease the shit out of her.

Without wasting a single second, he has her flipped upside down in the pool, pressing his mouth on her bathing suit bottoms before he gives his favorite piece of jewelry a little nibble. Only for a mere second before he twists her back upright. "You ass," she sputters dunking her head under the water to smooth everything back. "I hate how easily you throw me around."

"You're a fucking liar, too," gripping tight at her waist, he pulls her onto his shoulder. "You don't want me manhandling you anymore?"

"Don't go putting words in my mouth."

"You just said..."

"I know what I said," she bites a bit at his ass when her dad walks out. "Hey daddy," Chris tosses her further back into the pool, knowing that things are about to get interesting. Ransom pauses as his daughter goes to stand out of the water. Finally able to view the body art she's been able to hide.

The delicate floral pattern under her chest on full display as she walks out. The intricate patterns on her ribcage, black ink all over her hips, and thighs. Chris thinks she's never been more beautiful. Fully able to show who she really is, and the need for more. "I thought you were just putting holes in her body."

"Dad, I asked for this. He couldn't have tattooed me if I didn't lay there."

"It's everywhere though," his eyes move around her body, even seeing the belly button piercing. "Why everywhere?"

"You can't see it when I have my clothes on."

"You want more?" she gives him a head nod, "You wanna look like that?" he points over to Chris who gives him a grimace.

"Well no."

"You got other things pierced besides your whole ear and belly button?" she sticks out her tongue, "That's it?" she only shrugs. "What other hole do you want?'

"I want a nose ring. Maybe a few other things."

He looks back over the Chris, and back at Lucy, "He do all of them?" she nods. Her little legs wiggling around uncomfortably. If it was just the modifications that was on trial it would be one thing, but she knows he's judging her choice in a man as well. "Do you have things I can't see? No...don't answer that. Why?"

"Daddy, you got your perfect daughter with Iris, got the business strong daughter with Aster, got your pretty daughter with Story. I'm just Lucy."

"You're beautiful, Luce," Chris hums, going to stand behind her. "She was before, she is now. She's still the same Morningstar."

Ransom gives his famous pouting face. Releasing a puff of air. "Fine. It's your body. But," he looks between the two of them. "Don't just put random shit on there. It's permanent. Make it mean something. And I want something for me on there."

"Really?"

"Yeah. That you've drawn. Not him."

daffodil: what's the most thoughtful present you've ever received? my brain has immediately blanked of all gifts i've ever received. uhhhhhh oh! this summer for my twentieth bday my high school friends planned this whole day where we went to a combination thrift store/cat rescue-adoption center (yes it is a real place and it is awesome) and then we wandered around this really cute small town center type thing i'd never been to before and peeked in at some art galleries and then we went to the beach and climbed drift wood and it was just a lovely day that really catered to my interests 😊

myrtle: do you like going on airplanes? what a relevant question! i'm kinda in the middle on planes like i don't love them (out of all the modes of transportation they're pretty low on the list) but i also don't hate it the way some people do. so ig not really but i can just vibe

dandelion: do you think you're important? oof well that's a loaded question lol. i think every person is important, so in that way yes! in terms of like, 'will your life have a big impact on the world in the grand scheme of things' my answer is i hope not? like i think doing smaller good things can be more rewarding than the big stuff and also i hate being the center of attention so i sure as heck don't want to be that kind of important. in another sense, i'd like to think i'm important to at least some of the people i care about, and that's the best kind of important to be imo 😊

"Hey Morningstar,” Chris peeks around his booth when he sees the pretty little thing walk in the shop.  He can’t quite figure the girl out, there’s this air of whimsy about her, and yet, he can’t stay away from her.  She walks back to his booth, sitting in a chair, she props her feet up on the table.  “Feet down,” he scolds her.

Turning back to his desk, he starts cleaning up his station, noticing how she keeps staring at a framed sketch on his wall.  The sketch that she always looks at.  “What do you think it means?”

Lucy takes a long look at the faded rose.  Upon further inspection you could see some of the petals withered.  “That’s not dew.”

“It’s not?”

“She’s crying,” Lucy takes one look down at her hands, and then back over at Chris who stares at her oddly.

“Did you just say she?”

“The rose.  She’s crying.  It’s this big beautiful rose, so full of life, but some of the petals are damaged.  It doesn’t ruin her overall beauty though,” Chris pulls out another one of the original sketches.  This time a blackened violet.  His finger traces over the LD on it before showing the picture to her.  He had been saving that particular one for someone special, or possibly himself.

“She’s misunderstood.  See the violets in the background, they’re bright.  She’s darkened, her petals are harsher and not as flowy.”

“Your middle name is Violet,” Lucy’s eyes turn and look away from him.  Chris goes back to his table and starts pulling out all the sketches he hadn’t used yet.  A binder full of the retired designs at his apartment.  “LD?”

“Like Lucy Drysdale.”

“I saw a pattern in these.  There’s a lot of floral.”

Lucy chuckles, her fingers nervously run over her rings.  “Well, my mom had this weird thing of naming us girls after flowers.  Iris, Aster, Story Rose, and Luciana Violet.”

“There’s others.”

“We have this garden my grandpa created after mom and dad got married.  All of our flowers are there.  But there’s peonies for mom, ranunculi for my brother that didn’t make it, sweet peas for Blade...” Chris looks up at her realizing that she’s related to his best client.  “Yeah, same Drysdale.”

“There’s a lot of tulips, too.”

“My dad.”

His fingers roam over the piece based off her sketch on his arm, she gives him a smile and traces over it as well.  “There’s always been blue jays in the garden since my grandpa died.  He hangs around all the time.  Me and Story say that it is Grandpa.  Funny that you chose one that had a violet on it.”

“You um...there’s a lot of roses.”

She licks her lips, and thinks about the best way to approach the topic.  “Well, Story, she’s got a tragic, and yet beautiful tale of how she came to be with her soulmate.”

“You’ve...I’ve been getting these for years.  Not just flowers, but...Lucy, they tell stories.”

“I’m not good with words.  I’m good with art.  It soothes me.  I started drawing when I was little.  I’d get bored in class, and just draw.  Soon it became my thing.  I even illustrate children’s books for my sister.  When Blade started to get tattooed, he’d come home, and Story, she was in rehab.  He was the only one who took time to see how I was doing when no one else was looking.  I got attached to his body art.  Would trace over it.  He talked about some cool guy at a shop that was doing them.  Said he had good freehand, but mine was better.  I started sending them out because I couldn’t get inked.  Blade he came home one day, fresh piece, and told me that the cool guy had a framed picture of mine in his booth.  That one right there.  I never sent you any of the colored ones, but I did another version of that.  She’s pink, but certain areas are darker.  There’s even an orchid with it.”

“Why?”

“Flowers represent people.  Mom has a special greenhouse, and there’s orchids in there for Story’s husband.  Beside his orchids is a pink rose bush.”

Standing up, Chris walks over to Lucy, putting his hands on either side of her chair as he stares down at this little bitty thing amazed.  “How come you never told me?  I told you how much I loved the work by the artist.  Mentioned I had kept some personally,” she shrugs.  “No, there’s gotta be a reason.”

“I wanted you to see me for me.  Not for some artist that you put on a pedestal, and didn’t know anything about them.  I didn’t think we’d even be having sex, much less be where we are right now.  It’s just...my artwork has always been anonymous.  I put everything in it.  I’m the most vulnerable with it, and,” she licks at her lips and wipes away the tears she was trying to hold in.  “I don’t like showing that side of me.”

“It’s beautiful.  Just like you.”

“Shut up.”

“I’m serious.  I’ll let you walk around acting like a bad bitch, but when it’s just us, I want you to be that vulnerable person that I’m looking at right now.  Luce, I want to protect you from everything, anything, or anyone that means you harm.  I want to shield you from people.  But this...this is fucking rad,” Lucy closes her eyes and laughs.  “I know, I’m corny to make you laugh.  Is there anything that you never sent?” she nods at him.  “Well, one day, I wanna see them.”
