You'd think the worst part of being immunocompromised would be catching All The Things, but honestly, the actual worst part is not being able to visit very sick loved ones because they're afraid of you catching the sickness :(
#i just discovered an hour ago that my mother was hospitalized last night and my dad mentioned 'the ambulance gave us nebulizer equipment'#by force of will i didn't say 'WHAT ambulance?!' because they don't need more anxiety right now#they were driving home together and my mother sounds awful and said she still didn't feel like she was breathing properly#dad was like 'she's really tired so i was thinking of giving her the nebulizer and getting her to lie down'#me: 'WHAT NO KEEP HER UPRIGHT' /calms slightly 'and tell her to take her nebulizer and be careful and i love her.'#'but seriously. don't let her lie down and don't let her go to sleep.'#i hate her pathetic fucking doctor so much though#she was doing better after i bullied her into seeing an asthma specialist but she caught some awful ... something and then this happened???#anghraine babbles#asthma

Thanks everyone for hanging with me during a lack of art posts <3 I started my new job which is pretty physically involved (processing truck shipments for a large store) so I've been too exhausted to do anything beyond commission work :')
I surprise got the day off today since the truck is late so extra time to draw today!! Also I'm so close to 7k so thank you TwT <3

happy disability pride month to people who were disabled as kids, but told their disabilities weren't "really disabling" or enough to stop them from reaching their "potential".
happy disability pride month to people who were never taken to the doctor as kids, never given adequate care for their disabilities (even when it was accessible).
happy disability pride month to people who were only taught about their disabilities as a method of fear mongering. "that kid over there, who obviously has it worse? that could be you."
happy disability pride month to people who were told as children that it was their own fault they were disabled.
happy disability pride month to the people who sat alone in the nurse's office at school when their disability flared.
happy disability pride month to the people who could have had a wildly better quality of life as children, if only their guardians had bothered to care.
#i still forget sometimes that my asthma counts as a disability#it was so drilled into my head as a kid that it wasn't a *real* disability#but in the same breath i would be forbidden from running and playing#when i found out about IEPs in college and how it could have meant i could have been excempt from high school gym class... i'm still so mad#sophomore year no one bothered to take me to the doctor#and that was the year the gym teacher had us running miles 3x a week#i had to use my (expired of course) rescue inhaler almost daily#i remember being so afraid that it was going to keep getting worse and never get better#it did. but not until i got old enough to take my medical care into my own hands#and all of this is just about my asthma. not even touching on the painfully obvious neurodivergence and trauma that went untreated#disability#disability pride month#mine

Unfortunately this does not work with a budesonid easyhaler (the inhaler with powder in it if you are not familiar with this sorta medication) , I tried and hoped and failed

Arlo did a pretty good job for his first time at the vet since CareCenter threw a towel over his head and tackled him to the floor and I am very proud of him
#two of the techs who tackled him were fear free certified >:(#he was muzzled and they didn’t even try#they didn’t even ask me it happened so fast#so I have been afraid to bring him to the vet since#he just got treats thrown at him and otherwise ignored which is what he likes#we’re gonna try a chill pack next week (just trazodone makes him less trusting so that’s out but we’ll see how the mixture hits)#and if he still says no to being touched by his new nice doctor then he will be sedated#which will be expensive but that’s okay#I want to try him on Prozac#to see if it helps to get him okay to give consent to have me groom his rear end#and to help with household dog tensions#and bc he is deeply affected by Tyrell’s anxiety around him to the point she’s not comfy handling him much without me there#and we wanna work on that too#but we need bloodwork first obv#so that’s what we’re tryna do#he also needs a dental but they have a little monthly plan thing at our vet that’s gonna cover that#and once Arlo’s sorted OTTILIE has to go to the vet bc she might have allergies or asthma#(I talked to them about it and they agree she needs to go in but that it is ok to wait until after we get Arlo sorted)#it was a lot when Juni and Rory were having issues at the same time lol#anyway#he did pretty good#arlo#dogblr

Sometimes non asthma attack chronic asthma symptoms feel worse than an asthma attack cause wdym my inhaler won't fix this I can't sleep because I keep coughing and I can't breathe lying down but apparently it's not the Right Kind of coughing fit for my inhaler to work

Frogs!!!!!!
#sewing#handmade#plushie#frog plushie#frog#baby blanket#frog baby blanket#frog baby set for my neighbor’s niece#this frog is entirely handsewn#because until I gave up on waiting to improve with time and requested the breakthrough asthma meds from my doctor#I very much needed to sit the hell still#and I am not good at that#but handsewing keeps me sitting still for longer#I only accidentally dropped a frog leg on the living room floor#because I forgot I was sewing and that it was on my lap once#okay maybe twice#also I broke a needle hand sewing it and half the broken needle went down my shirt#did not get even a little stabbed by the needle though! and it did not break while inside the frog#all shards of needle are present and accounted for#(and are currently in the empty pill bottle currently designated for broken pins and needles so that they don’t stab anyone in the trash)
