[ oh, actually, at first it was a sketch of Atlas from the original manga, but then I was carried away towards the redesign and personal vision, and it went too far, and there was nothing left at all from the original idea. ]

I would also be interested in trying to adapt the skills of Atom (and the others) to the design that I have. because I already have a few ideas about how his flight works, and in what circumstances he can do it and in what circumstances he cannot. for example, the first time he (accidentally) flew, he burned his shoes, which is why he uses red boots, since they are the only ones that are designed specifically for flying. everything else is unfortunately spoiled.

it's horse time, lads! Daichi and Atlas

I considered making Daichi a unicorn so he could hold a paintbrush properly, but I ended up deciding that an earth pony fit him better (not to mention the obvious, "daichi" literally means "earth") Daichi's cutie mark fades a tiny bit when his painting is burned because he feels less connected to his special talent afterward. Daichi's cutie mark that was put on Atlas slowly fades off over the course of episode 6, until he's a blank flank by the start of episode 7. He then earns his own mark to replace it when he decides not to kill his dad and falls out into space like the drama queen he is. You can't really put Pre-assigned cutie marks on sentient robots in this AU because 90% of the time they just earn their own that replaces the old one. You can't remove an earned CM either, you can paint over it as many times as you like and it'll just appear over it lol. Even if you take off all the top layers of the pony it will just appear on the base metal instead.

some comparisons between my portrayls of atlas ("post death daichi") and well, daichi ("pre death") the red text are things that are 100% canon and everything else is either duciously canon or my own interpretation/headcanons.

the cresent moon shaped facial markings are something i noticed in his concept art, i think before his death he applied them himself with that imagery in mind, tenma didnt rlly pick up on that so when it carried over into his post death body but as a more robotic design element.

(headcanon) he did his stick n pokes himself as an act of rebellion, symbolising that his art will stay with him despite his father forcing him away from it, (also ties into the whole biker thing).

i think tenmas robots, while extreamly realistic are still not compleatly so, giving them an eerie look to them if you look to long. shapes are simplified (tobios hair vs atoms spikes for example) this comes more form a place of tenmas love for robots inhumanity and is a deliberate choice on his end.

he also made atlas look more like tokugawa from a place of projection and pity for tokugawa, seeing his goals through daichis memories.

i love the megaman build applicable to robots like atom and uran so i gave it to atlas too, though more subtle and he can still pass as human when covered. think metropolis 2001 humans.

im personally kinda conflited on their decision to give him white boy dreads (well, not white but yknow) so i image his robot hair to be more like ribbon cables or smth. tho them looking like this is also an idea ive been playing with

"kokoro" his figurine has a chest button that makes his eyes glow so im making that where his kokoro is, for the drama. (+ since the section over his stomach is his power supply)
