Nathan "Jerry" Juran: Director
I was incredibly fortunate to meet and talk with Nathan Juran ("Jerry" to his friends) several times and through him, meet the stop-motion effects master Ray Harryhausen. They both had storied careers (and Harryhausen himself is iconic), however they were both sweet and humble gentlemen, always good for a good story and pearls of wisdom.
And they were practical:
Jerry had an Oscar and used it as a doorstop to his downstairs study. It was heavy and just the thing to keep the stubborn door open.
Ray had something of a second career doing talks and appearances. He brought his famous animation figures along with him; all in a battered, carry-on luggage bag. He generously rolled it out and pulled out the Medusa figure from Clash of the Titans and plopped it in my hands. It was nearly an out of body experience to hold something so precious.
I am eternally grateful to know both of them.

15, 19, 28
15. Is there a song, book, movie, or other piece of media that has drastically altered your life? What was it, are there multiple?
Drastically altered? I don't know that I know, I guess. Certainly there are some that I consider core foundational pieces - Star Trek, MacGyver, 'Calvin & Hobbes' - and I suppose if I hadn't been exposed to them I might well be a very different person.
I can't really think of anything after childhood, though? Pretty sure I would still have been interested in being a teacher even without seeing Mr. Holland's Opus; maybe Sara Bareilles' music encouraged me to get out and take more chances on a personal level?
19. In general, is there any historical event you desperately want to witness?
Desperately? I don't think my desire to witness any particular historical event rises to that level of intensity - there are a large number I might be very interested in seeing... but that's not desperately.
28. What has influenced your taste in music?
Exposure from other people, mostly. Parents played oldies in the car, took me to symphony; modern music I've picked up from students listening to it.

William Windom

Physique: Husky Build Height: 5'10½" (1.79 m)
William Windom (September 28, 1923 – August 16, 2012; aged 88) was an American actor. He was known as a character actor of the stage and screen. He was perhaps best known for his work on television, including the character of John Monroe on the sitcom My World and Welcome to It; as Commodore Matt Decker, commander of the doomed USS Constellation in the Star Trek episode “The Doomsday Machine” and perhaps the most common recurring character, Dr. Seth Hazlitt, on the CBS series Murder, She Wrote.

Chubby, gray hair, gentle features but with a hint grumpy grandpa added for good measure. And he had a hot, gruff voice that makes me I want to bang his ass all night long. He just looks like he would have been a filthy whore in bed and a talker. I can always get behind a talker in bed.

A man of all mediums, this veteran, Manhattan-born character actor was named after his great-grandfather, Lincolnesque Congressman William Windom. He attended Williams College and the University of Kentucky, among others, before serving in the Army during WWII. After the war, he studied at both Fordham and Columbia universities in New York City before settling on an acting career.

Windom died on August 16, 2012, at age 88 from congestive heart failure. A chess, tennis and sailing enthusiast, he is survived by four children. He was quite a colorful character and apparently loved the ladies, having wed five times. Seems like a man who likes to keep his dick in a hole at all times. I would have happily volunteered to keep his dick well lubricated anytime he needed. He just looks like he would be a filthy whore in bed. He also seems to sweat quite a bit, so the sex would be hot, wet and messy.
