#Avengers Strikefile

I mentioned the pin-ups were split into two parts... the second of which is "Avengers Allies" which is pretty much just an excuse to include a bunch of Pin-Ups of other teams... this also has spoilers in it that we see Force Works which is 100% not a thing yet... Also, they somehow made Sue's weird sexy outfit even worse than it normally is here?

Avengers Strikefile #1
Avengers Cashgrab #1.
In a hidden complex on the moon, some Kree warriors watch a recap of recent events.
They also look at 15 pages of very bad pin-up art. Many of the characters (in these pin-ups) are completely unrecognisable. Before that, there's 6 pages of bland, boring text with so-so computer-generated art and a 10-page comic book story that should have been buried in an annual somewhere.
Shocking to think that people were actually conned into paying good money for this substandard package.
Bob Harras (27 of 57).
2/10

as someone who works in the comic business i literally have the BIGGEST vendetta against the avengers and i have an immediate gut reflex to wanting to barf every time i see them. i think that the most effective form of torture for a human being is to throw a bunch of avengers comics at them and tell them to alphabetize them. you're like 'okay!' and then TWO DAYS LATER you're sitting neck-deep in a pentagram of avengers comics trying to fish out the 762 sub-titles you have to alphabetize too like these assholes just can't call everything the same thing and number it there's so many spin-offs and crossovers and miniseries it's celestial quest, rogue planet, earth's mightiest heroes, prime, west coast, finale, infinite gauntlet, fear itself, strikefile, original sin, children's crusade, end times, reckoning, maximum security, vs., icons, secret invasion - B R B i have to go cough up my BEAKFAST

For the most part though, this book is just a ton of pin-ups, split into two sections... first up is the "Avengers" which is funny cause this kinda has some spoilers in it; first is that Hank is coming back to the team as Giant-Man, but also that Deathcry is 100% gonna join up with the team... Also it Thor is very much not a part of the team right now cause he is out in space dealing with Warrior's madness.
Also, those Sersi and Black Widow pin-ups are awful...

Also, I felt like this "pin-up" needed its own post cause baby look at these sweet sweet 1993-era 3d computer graphics... cutting edge. I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be a Kree Sentry...

So in the 90s, there was this thing where we get these like... small comics that are mostly made of like art, that are mostly used as like hype makers... and this is one of our first... it is actually hyping up the next storyline, but they are putting a little more push on it than it is relly worth, and there will be better examples of this in the future.

So this is the "Last Kree Imperial Fleet" some of the last Kree soldiers out in the universe, and they are 100% looking to throw down with the Avengers for killing the Supreme Intelligence, and so this story is about them gathering info on their foes, which is where the info dump I mentioned comes in...
