for context, they r teens in this. when they first met they had a small language barrier and i wanted to write a small bonding moment

Sun doodles with his claw in the soft sand by the shore of the lake.

"Whatcha drawing?" Moon looks over curiously.

"Nothing much!" Sun giggles. "Just some random stuff."

Moon nods and watches quietly. On days when the sky is cloudy with the sun peaking through they enjoy going by the lake. It isn't too bright or too hot so they can safely stay out of the shade without burning up.

Moon decides he wants to make his own doodles. He's never been as good at art as Sun, but he still enjoys the occasional mindless sketching.

He carefully circles his claw in the sand. It's easy to move around and its damp enough to not just fly away and ruin the drawing. He smiles and draws a simple flower.

Sun looks up and chirps something that Moon doesn't understand.

"What?" Moon looks up at Sun.

Sun makes the same chirping sound and points at Moon's drawing.

"Flower?" Moon tilts his head.

"Is that how you say it?" Sun tilts aer head as well.

"Is that what youre saying?"

Sun nods enthusiastically and makes the same chirping sound.

The fabric on top of the cage was pulled off with a flourish. Technoblade flinched and closed his eyes at the sudden light. Gasps and murmurs and laughter grated on his heart as he struggled to clear his sight and mind. “-we were able to procure an avian hybrid for your royal highnesses,” The auctioneer said finally. Technoblade squinted, trying to see through the blurriness of the brightness. “Pulled directly from the traded territory of the Retired Tundra, only began presenting as a hybrid one month ago! This hybrid's instincts are well within the timeframe to make a perfectly docile pet.” Technoblade is an Avian hybrid. They are considered divine inside the Antarctic Empire. He did not live in the Antarctic Empire. He lived in Hypixel, where the Hybrid Market was alive and well. Technoblade is taken to be sold at the International Council, a meeting between many of the biggest kingdoms in the world. He meets the Emperor of the Antarctic Empire.

absolutely! (my midterm is done so now im FREEEEE)

the wings au came to me in a vision while i was procrastinating. i love winged aus because i love looking at birds and im down disastrously bad.

it only exists as an idea right now but it's an idea that everything is normal but humans have evolved with wings (obviously). certain dimensions have certain regulations or punishments with wings. and the general line "learn how to spread your wings" but its a literal metaphor and heagehsgajf

what i have so far:

earth 1610: flight is heavily regulated because of population density and most people don't fly in public. there are certain spaces where people can learn how to fly and then fly freely but it's restricted. therefore: miles hasn't learned to fly, only kinda glide like a chicken. i think he'd have sunbird wings (because of the pun of the sun and the pun of spider eater XD)

earth 42: flight is supposed to be heavily regulated, but literally who the fuck cares. miles g is the prowler and has learned how to fly fast and furious, menace of the skies if you will. he's got falcon wings >:3

earth 65: people can fly whenever they want. the wider streets and ascending landscape allow for people to fly wherever they please and the architecture is built with that in mind. gwen is a free flier and incredibly graceful uwu. i think she'd be a swan or maybe an eagle.

earth 50101: flight is unregulated! people can fly wherever they please, just have to be mindful of each other. A lot of people stick to the streets since traffic laws are more widely acknowledged than air laws. pavitr i think would have kite wings or a minivet for the colors.

earth 138: flight is restricted and heavily enforced. a lot of criminal punishment includes cutting off wings or clipping them. this also applies to underprivileged people and victims of random acts of violence. you will rarely see anyone using their wings as anything other than intimidation. hobie is among the wingless and has built himself a new pair. previously had starling wings. hobie is not immune to my angst hammer and i am swinging-

and i came up with this scenario of miles learning how to fly and taking his second leap of faith and the other three arachnikids are cheering him on and its super cute and i aaaaa ;-;

•Miguel had the tiniest little wings when he was born. His mom and abuela could stop gushing over them. They where so tiny on his little back, they basically looked like fuzzy little toothpicks coming out of his back. Rosa would tell Carmen that they would grow eventually and not to worry. It was normals for them to have smaller wings and baby’s. Never every person came out with big wings right away.

•Rosa was right about little Miggy’s wings growing. By the time he was walking around they where past his butt. They where surprised at how well he walked with them, but after some careful observation they found that his wings where very light. His ability to walk and balance where amazing with his size wings. He was a bubbly toddler who wobbled around the apartment with no issue. He was constant trying to flap his wings too which was adorable.

•By the time he was in elementary school he already had full control over his wings. He was able to flap them on command, even move them around without any help. It was truly amazing for someone his age to be able to use his wings so well. Most kids didn’t have much control until they where at the end of elementary school. One of the basic elementary school lessons was control and flight, Miguel was perfect. He nearly had to do a thing to ace his flying classes. By fifth grade he was at the top of his class when it came to his flying grade. Both his mom and abuela where very proud of him.

•He was a full bloomer by the time he entered middle school. All of his adult feathers had grown in over the summer so when he walked into sixth grade, he did so in style. Not a speck of down was still between his fresh coat. He was so happy when the last bit fell out just a few days before school started. His wings where at their peak during this time. So shinny and smooth. Carmen giggled when she caught him in the mirror flexing his new wings.

•His wing pattern is a little different then most Great Kiskadee wing holders. His primary and secondary feathers are more of a bright amber then a dark color like a lot of people. His covering feathers are also just a tad bit brighter, nothing to flashy but not to dull. He try’s his best to take care of them. He wants to make sure his wings are in tip top shape at all times. He doesn’t go over board with their care though. It’s mostly just him eating a good diet, self care, wing grooming and exercise. Nothing to over the top for the young guy.

•He finest really show of his wings even though they are very important to him. Being good at using them is very different than say showing them off all the time for no reason. He loves moving them around and evening but he’s not going to go over board with it. He’s not looking to flap his feathers around when ever he wants. Only on special occasions does her end up actually ruffling them or pulling them open for people to see. He gets a little shy about it but he love when people give him compliments about them.

•Not exactly shy about it but doesn’t like grooming and preening infront of others. The only ones he allows to see him grooming is his mom, abuela and his lover. It’s more of a personal thing for him. Even his friends don’t really see him cleaning and taking care of them.

•Helping and watching him take care of his wings is more so a act of trust. If you get to see him cleaning himself up like that then he really cares about you. Actually no, that means he loves you. The only one that has ever touched his wings like that is his mom when he was a child. She no longer does it unless he asks. She raised him believing that things like grooming are more privet, and should be sheared with only those you love, like family and lovers. There for he sees things like mutual grooming as a act of love and affection. So if anyone every asks him to help take care of their feathers, he gets a little teary in the eyes.

•One of his little habits is that when he gets happy or excited his wings shake. It’s super loud too which ends up making him blush a little. He doesn’t mean to do it but it happens a lot. His little heart might just explode if his lover tells him they think it’s cute. It’s just something he can’t control.

•He LOVES to around his partner with his wings. They are definitely big enough to hold them so he loves doing it. If they are hugging and he wants to be a bit more intimate, he wrapping his wings around them. It gives them a little more privacy if they are out in public to. He laughs if they get embarrassed by it, but won’t even think of letting up. Will also do it if they miss in public five times out of ten.

Featherless Flight AU

aka dca avian au where these fucks r BIRDS

(disclaimer this is a sun x moon au. it also deals with heavy themes such as child abuse, death, violence, and. ya know. wutever tws come with the apocalypse (also these will not be talked about in detail in this post))

nothing robotic in them. just feathers, blood, and bones. a lot of that stuff may be lost or break throughout their story! but lemme at least tell u wut they look like (without having my own drawings OTL (i only have a ref for their faces (which im not confident of)))

a quick note for both of their designs, they r both Fully Covered in feathers, including their arms and faces (yes they have arms And wings). the only places that dont have feathers is their lower legs and hands. they have anthropomorphic legs. and their face shape is also similar to a barn owl, as shown here (ignore the lack of mouths, idk wut to give them)

suns design! he has the coloring and general design of a sun conure. hes full of bright reds and yellows, tho the green is replaced with a bit of blue. he has multiple crests around his head that fluff up similar to a cockatiel but theyre in a way that make it look like rays. in the drawing above is wut they look like without their crests raised; that is their default. suns feet r grasping feet which r 2 toes in the front and 2 in the back. sun has high speed wings so aes a lot faster. (if u dont know wut any of this means i recommend u look it up, im a bird nerd) sun is also specifically an omnivore (them having different diets is actually plot relevant)

moons design next. moon is the color of a hyacinth macaw tho his anatomy is closer to an owl. he has one large crest on his head like a cockatoo. its also colorblind! since its anatomy is based mainly off of owls, for moons ability to see at night means he can see less colors. and bc hes more sensitive at night his eyes r always half closed in light, making it look sleepy despite being fully awake. moon has raptor feet with 3 toes in the front and 1 in the back. xis claws r also much larger than suns. moon has passive soaring wings which is better for longer flights. and moon is a carnivore :)

theres also an eclipse but their design is an enigma to me even in my own mind

but back to sun and moon! if anyone is curious moon uses he/it/xe pronouns while sun uses he/it/ae pronouns. they r both aroace and love each other deeply (qpr babyyyyy). sun is genderfluid while moon doesnt give a shit (agender).

sun is more bubbly and energetic. very much high energy bouncing off the walls. hes the kind of optimist where u cant tell if their "bright side"s r trying to help or be condescending. its a master at back handed compliments. heavily a perfectionist and will reach the point of screaming fits if wut he doesnt isnt perfect. ae has a lot of self image issues. ae hides a lot of aers lack of self confidence and doubt behind a wall of "im the best", tho that wall can crash very easily. a bit of a flirt, but mainly bc he just enjoys seeing how ppl react. he takes compliments from everyone but moons compliments r always the best

moon is lower energy and calmer. at least, he acts like it. hes more reserved and if it wasnt for sun he wouldnt have any friends or talk to ppl at all. he fears abandonment and sun is the only person who has stayed with him this whole time and is the only person he truly trusts. is very aggressive towards anyone it doesnt know. despite being shorter than sun (hes 6ft while sun is 7ft) it definitely does a good job at intimidating ppl. over time when xe becomes comfortable with someone xe will eventually calm down and show a bit of a softer side to them. when xes actually calm and likes someone xe can be a bit... chaotic :)

im honestly not sure where ill start their story since ive already thought about their childhood but i also wanna write about their adulthood as well. the story of their childhood mainly deals with the abuse they went through, then with adulthood theyre shoved into an apocalypse bc... y not :) (btw the apocalypse is mainly just bc ive been enjoying apocalypse aus a Lot lately and wanna write one. the child abuse is for their development and to show y they act the way they do. while it will be fun to write their development, i am by no means saying abuse is okay and this topic will be treated carefully and seriously.)

oh theyre also nd as Fuck

but yeah. these r my babies! i hope to at some point start writing the fic so i can show it to u all, but im already in the process of writing another fic, which will be coming out soon!
