Red Bull Racing-teambaas Christian Horner legt uit hoe het kan dat Max Verstappen het tijdens de Grand Prix van Azerbeidzjan qua race pace voor het eerst in hele lange tijd moest afleggen ten opzichte van teammaat Sergio Pérez. Max Verstappen kwalificeerde zich als zesde voor de Grand Prix van Azerbeidzjan en kwam uiteindelijk als vijfde over de streep. Teammaat Sergio Pérez mocht op P4 vanaf de tweede startrij vertrekken en reed een aanzienlijk competitievere race. De Mexicaan reed vrijwel de hele race in een treintje met Oscar Piastri en Charles Leclerc in gevecht om de eerste plaats, tot hij in de voorlaatste ronde samen met Carlos Sainz een flinke klapper maakte. Daarmee ging een goed resultaat voor Pérez in rook op, maar het was opvallend hoeveel sneller de 34-jarige coureur het hele weekend was dan Verstappen. Het is een publiek geheim dat Pérez zich doorgaans thuis voelt op snelle stratencircuits, maar het onderlinge verschil was opvallend groot. Red Bull-topman Helmut Marko liet eerder al weten dat Verstappen met een afstelling reed die minder goed uitpakte, en dat hij daarnaast een probleem met zijn remmen had. Teambaas Christian Horner heeft nu ook tekst en uitleg gegeven. "Ik denk dat Sergio een goed ritme wist te vinden en met een goede set-up reed. De auto van Sergio was erg snel vandaag", trapt Horner af tegenover Sky Sports. "Ik denk dat we met de auto van Max wat nieuwe dingen hebben geprobeerd die niet zo goed hebben uitgepakt. We hebben de banden behoorlijk beschadigd door zo lang in dat groepje in het middenveld te rijden. Als je kijkt naar de stint van George Russell: hij begon ontzettend langzaam, maar ging steeds beter en hield een veel betere band over aan het eind. Het is ontzettend frustrerend."

The new Formula 1 Sprint

I think we all know about the new formula one sprint but some of u ask what is it so I will explain it as easy as impossible. I will be ur new Formula 1 guide and writte blogs about and in some weeks I will start also a TikTok blog acc.

how does it exactly work? 

 Sprint is an additional weekend format that is used at selected Formula 1 events and offers spectators an additional shorter race on Saturday, in addition to the main race on Sunday. This new introduction is called the “sprint race” and is a new concept introduced by the Formula 1 organisation to expand the weekend program and offer viewers more action on the racetrack. Sprint will therefore be part of the Grand Prix weekend.

Where is it used ? 

Thats a question thats easy to answer the new Formula 1 sprint format will be released in six different countries: Azerbaidzhan, Austria, Belgium, Qatar, USA and Brazil. The Saturday sprint will have a length of 100 kilometres. This new format will offer spectators an additional race on Saturday on these selected race weekends, which promises exciting overtaking manoeuvres and more action on the track. The introduction of the sprint format is intended to make the Formula 1 weekend even more exciting and spectacular and offer fans an even more intense racing experience.

How long does it take ?

The length of the big price on Sunday is unchanged and lasts about 30 minutes

Are pit stops allowed?

Drivers have the opportunity to make a pit stop during the sprint race, but it is not mandatory.

Does a driver receive points in the F1 sprint and how many does he gets ?

In the F1 Sprint,  drivers get points in the top 8, where P1 gets eight points and P8 gets one point.
