Even if he knows that the withdrawal will make things more difficult for the both of them, he still wouldn't allow a single cig in the house. And if he ever catches them relapsing, get ready for the lecture of a lifetime on why smoking is bad for you.

he has considered using cigarettes as leverage over his partner when the withdrawal gets bad...but ultimately decided against it, because its not worth risking their health. And the smell brings back memories he'd rather not think about.

So I've been watching the bsd eng dub and while i appreciate some of the puns (in s3 ep 1 "you two seem to have really hit it off" after dazai and chuuya literally fought the day before lmao), i dont like that some lines dont convey the nuance of their interactions

Like at the start of dead apple when we first see chuuya on the bike, in eng dub dazai tells chuuya "go get in the line of enemy fire and die k thx" but in jp he tells him " you've entered the enemies' range of fire so 🎵take some bullets and die k🎵"

Like at first glance it's like what r u talking about its the same thing, but in the dub dazai is just being a dick. Like to sum it up he just said "hi go die lol"

If you want to sum up what dazai said in the jp line, it's "you're in range now (and you're gonna get shot at)"

Like dazai is actually using the comms for info? He is telling chuuya that he's about to be in danger, he's gonna get shot at and to prepare. Like for the eng dub I'd need to do mental gymnastics to try to interpret that line in a positive way, but in the sub dazai is straight up being helpful and giving chuuya useful info. Yeah, he told him to get shot and die, but dazai is still being a good cooperative partner here.
