I don’t tell people this because I don’t want to seem like a crazy cat lady AND crazy doll lady all in one… but my dolls represent my cats if they were human. Their human sonas if you will.

And I did the unthinkable and... I customised him 🫣

I'm not gonna lie, halfway through I thought: "This was a bad idea. You're ruining it. You're ruining this perfectly good cat baby just because you had this stupid idea. Why did you do this?? Just for a stupid joke?!"

But then I looked at the cute mustache cat and... yes, it is a stupid joke, but man, it's a stupid joke that made me giggle all the way while painting this cutie 🥹😅

Puma pet doll with Type A head ordered blank from Iplehouse on Feb 23, 2024 and arrived today, which is less than 2 months (speed of light in the BJD world). 62 cm from head to tail tip and HEAVY. Standing when all the weight is in the center and the legs are on the corners is... difficult.

I plan to blush with airbrush acrylic paint. Iplehouse said they don't sell pet dolls blushed anymore because they had problems with the blushing not sticking to the doll. I find that airbrush paint tends to stick better than pastels, so... wish me luck.

Spouse saw me get the box and sighed. heh heh heh

He'll come around when I put kitty in his lap.

We're finally on the year of 2023 for faceups! This cutie is a Fatemoons Puu in milk skin. The client asked me to paint him similar to the company blushing, so more pink overload!

theyre a doll chateau noah!! hand for scale lmao. im so excited to paint them but i still need to figure out what i want them to look like. i tried to brainstorm some ideas but it was tricky bc i couldnt find a many examples of the peach skin aside from the swatch photo so i wasnt sure what colors would look good, which in turn meant i wasnt sure what style i wanted to go for... i was pleasantly surprised that it was not nearly as pink as id expected, which really opens up my options!! gonna revisit my sketches today & see what i come up with :)

Wondering if this is sentimental or morbid. So there is a glass blowing place close by to me that offers a service to turn loved ones ashes into glass artworks. One of the products is a necklace with a glass orb you can put a pets ashes in. Thankfully, my pets are all healthy and will live long lives, but I often find myself thinking about how they eventually won’t be here and if I would get the glass orbs. Someone I know got a doll based on their cat after he died and I suddenly wondered - what if someone got a doll based on a pet and they got custom eyes made with the glass made out of the pets ashes? Would that be a sentimental and nice thing or weird and creepy and potentially haunted? I can’t decide, and I don’t like thinking about it too much because I hate the thought of my pets dying too much to think about that much.

This cute little Dream Valley Bor in white skin is one of my own and was inspired by Blue Jays. I'm not entirely happy with the blushing on him, so I will likely redo it, once I feel up to the task...
