The night were dark and the sky were blue, Down the alleyway a ice wagon flew. Hit a bump and somebody screamed; You should've heard what I'd seen.

An extremely dumb guid to “Which famous 60’s/70's Jazz man is that?”
1, Is it Piano lead or Brass lead? If piano go to question two. If brass question three.
2, Does the Pianist sound like he’s taken all the acid, or is there a guy making love to a clarinet?
Oh yeah: he’s taken all the acid alight. Is… is he okay? Thelonious Monk.
Oh yeah, some guy is going ham on a clarinet. Dave Burkbeck Quartet.
Neither of the above: Duke Ellington.
3, If brass lead: is it Louis Armstrong? If Yes, it’s Louis Armstrong. If no, question four.
4, Does the Trumpet player make you feel sad? Even, dare I say, Blue?
Almost? Chet Barker
Kind of? Miles Davies.
If no, question five.
5, Is the trumpet player trying to blow your face clean off? Like, actively trying to kill the first row of the audience? Dizzy Gillespie.
It’s brass led, but Sax not Trumpet.
Okay, technically thats a woodwind but moving on, question 6, isolate the strings: is Charles Mingus doing what he’s actually paid to do in the back of the ensemble, or is he dicking around and seeing how far a man can take a double bass before his band-mates kill him?
Seems to be playing normally: Charlie Parker
He’s fucking around in F minor, and also that Bari sax is filthy! The Mingus Big band, with Ronnie Cuber on the Sax.

Billie Holiday unapologetically performing "Strange Fruit" as the final song in her set, circa 1939, with bold disregard to the controversial story it may have painted for her audience. 👑

I don't know who needs this - or if anyone needs this - but I thought this would be nice to draw. ...well, it also came after I decided drawing Sonic with a similar scarf was too much work today.

“Sister Rosetta Tharpe, often hailed as the "Godmother of Rock 'n' Roll," was a pioneering figure in the history of music, blending gospel with electric guitar-driven blues, and laying the foundation for rock music as we know it.
Born in 1915, she was a trailblazer who broke boundaries not just with her music but also as a black woman in an era of deep-seated racial and gender discrimination. Her powerful voice, energetic performances, and innovative guitar playing influenced generations of musicians, including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Chuck Berry. Tharpe's 1938 hit "This Train" and her electrifying rendition of "Didn't It Rain" remain iconic, showcasing her unique ability to infuse spirituals with a raw, soulful energy that captivated audiences across the country.” - @epicliveperformance

After watching a few Marina Vice (Miami Vice) episodes, he cools off on his bed listening to its soundtrack, window open and breeze blowin' n' all. Some episodes have their ways of ending for a good pondering...
