Katsuki's sidekicks (part 2)

You know what would be cool? If Katsuki accepted a quirkless hero as his sidekick.

That person wasn't accepted in hero schools (considering what dai's classmate told him) but they've trained for years on their own to fight without a quirk. Funny thing is that they became a vigilante for a while (nothing too serious) so they have some experiences with fighting. And of course they never mentioned that to dynamight!

When they applied to dynamight agency, it surprised Katsuki to see someone without a quirk willing to be in his team. It has always been people with the strongest quirks that thought they'd fit with gemg dynamight's winning spirit. So he saw this as a challenge and immediately asked them for an interview. Since Katsuki treats everyone equally, at some point during the interview, he asked for a fight and this was one of the rare moments that the person who has filled the sidekick application didn't lose their shit at this request. In fact, they looked excited. And that was enough for Katsuki to think they have passed the first stage of the interview. Anyway, ofc the person lost the fight but Katsuki saw the potential in their fighting/strategy and invited them for the second interview. After a brutal sequence of "interviews" he finally hired them.

I'm adding this to the part one of my sidekick au where I've written about his two other sidekicks before. So by now he has a team of three sidekicks in my head😋 I might elaborate on this quirkless sidekick a bit more in future.

My Favourite Quirk Ideas I’ve Come Up With for OCs

Solidify

The user has the ability to solidify the water in the area to a pink material than can be formed into any shape, meaning it can be used as a shield, armour, a weapon, etc. quirk obviously cannot be used if there is no water around. It also doesn’t wear off - the water stays in the solidified form.

Namesake

By repeating a person’s name, the user is able to freeze, speed up, or slow down that person’s movement. It only works for as long as the user is able to continuously repeat their name. As soon as they stop saying it, the effect ends.

Amplify

The user has the ability to amplify the sound of anything they touch with all five fingers. They cannot amplify their own voice, but they can amplify musical instruments that they play, including ones that use breath. They can also amplify other people’s voice. My oc used this on my friend’s oc who is related to Present Mic.

Sleep Paralysis Demon

A sentient quirk. The user has an 8’0 demon with enhanced strength that follows it everywhere. The demon’s strength depends on how much sleep the user gets - more sleep = weaker demon, but if the user hasn’t slept in ages, the demon becomes angry and attacks the user. My oc’s demon is named Shy.

Ghost

Another sentient quirk, a being that only the user can see and hear. The being can interact with physical objects and therefore can communicate with other people by writing. If the user doesn’t eat enough, the being disappears.

Hot-Blooded

The user has a resistance to heat and is sensitive to cold temperatures. They cannot get burned. Anything they touch with the palms of their hands sets alight

String

The user shoots golden strings that vary in length from their knuckles. They have electrical properties, so can be used to electrocute people, but my oc mainly uses them as a capture weapon instead.

Hysteria

Based on the game Alice: Madness Returns, when the user is experiencing a lot of physical pain, they get a power boost. Their eyes go red and their skin goes completely white, and they get enhanced strength and can’t feel pain. They cannot die while hysteria is active, but it doesn’t heal wounds, so when it deactivated, if fatal wounds are left untreated, the user will still die.

Looking over at the restrained U.A. student, Nora focused on him - prepared to use her quirk if necessary. She knew it'd be easy to gaslight Bakugou Katsuki with her quirk to convince him he 'wants' to join them all on his own, no forcing or arguing necessary. However, she wanted to see him come to the same conclusion as she and everyone else in the room had. That Hero Society was against them. The blonde kid's shouting and fighting against his restraints was frustrating beyond belief. As soon as she opened her mouth to suggest letting him move freely, feeling a bit guilty as she remembered how the teen reacted to being restrained during the sports festival when she'd watched it on TV alongside Shigaraki, Twice had already unchained the kid and Shigaraki was on the ground below the loud-mouthed kid quicker than Nora could blink.

DOLCEAMARO —- drabble

... the world had gone quiet.

for the first time in what felt like forever, there were no battles, no loudness, no... lingering threats looming over their heads. just the distant hum of the city, the rhythmic pattering of rain on the nearby window, and the occasional flicker of candlelight casting soft shadows across the darkened room.

it was late, well, at least evening, every task in the manor had been shown to —- every errand had been ran, the hisa manor was quiet. anna had gone off to her room for the night, noting how she had picked up a new book she was eager to get into —- which left the other two alone for the night, before they too turned in for the night.

nira sat by the window, the dim glow of the lantern on the table illuminating the side of their face. their fingers absentmindedly traced the rim of the teacup they had in front of them, though the drink inside had long since gone cold.

truth to be told, they weren't really paying attention to it.

giulio sat across from them, leaning back in his chair, arms crossed, gaze steady on them —- where theirs was set on the delicate porcelain in front of them. it wasn’t the usual sharp or serious glint he carried in his eyes —— tonight, he was just... watching. quiet.. patient.

things had mostly been that way since the three of them were able to return back to italy from japan — with the war over now, they were permitted to fly back. well... the destruction had been great —- but they were at least safer conditions to travel in.

the scervino manor was still... in ruins from the whole gollini family incident, and though nira's time was spent at the manor, the hisa manor was still under their name now with their parents passing. it seemed like the perfect place to stay until the construction was completed once more.

nira felt his stare but decided said nothing, instead shifting their gaze out the window, to the moon hanging high above. the silence between them wasn’t uncomfortable, yet it felt heavy... like something unsaid lingered between them, waiting.

it was giulio who broke it first.

“ you’re quiet tonight, ” ⠀⠀⠀⠀he murmured.

nira exhaled softly, a small, humorless smile tugging at their lips. ⠀⠀⠀⠀“ i don’t always have something to say. ”

“ you always have something to say, ”⠀⠀⠀⠀ he countered, tilting his head slightly, eyes narrowing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀“ even when you don’t say it. ”

nira huffed, shaking their head, but didn’t argue. he wasn’t wrong. they were the chatty one between the two, the brighter one —- it was rare that they didn't have something to passionately talk to gandini about.

he, of course, never minded —- merely sat there with a fresh brewed tea and chimed in every now and then, mainly to make sure they knew he was listening and hanging on to every word they were saying.

soon, their fingers stilled against the teacup before they hesitantly placed it down. the quiet between them stretched again, and this time, nira felt it settle deep in their chest. there was something about the night, the stillness of it, that made them feel uneasy.

too unguarded.

they turned their head, their gaze finally meeting his, and for a moment, they forgot how to breathe.

giulio was looking at them differently. not in amusement, not in that sharp, stern way he so often did —- but like he was waiting. like he *had* been waiting.

and with that, nira’s heart thudded against their ribs.

they weren't sure what compelled them to move. maybe it was exhaustion. maybe it was the way the candlelight softened his usually sharp features, made him look less like the storm he always was and more like something warm, something safe. (albeit if you were to ask nira, they'd say that they always felt the safest with him, than anyone else.)

or maybe.. maybe it *was* just giulio himself.

but, before they could think, before they could hesitate, they shifted closer —- just barely. it was subtle, but enough that their knees brushed beneath the table. enough that their fingers ghosted over his prosthetic arm, hesitant, unsure.

however, giulio didn’t pull away. he didn’t speak, didn’t move, instead... he just let them come to him.

and for some reason, that made it harder.

they swallowed, their throat dry, and before they could lose whatever strange courage had taken hold of them, they had lifted themselves up from their seat ever so slightly and leaned in.

it wasn’t much —- just the barest brush of their lips against his jaw, light and fleeting, like they hadn’t fully committed to the action.

but it was enough to have giulio suddenly go utterly still.

nira froze as well, realization crashing into them like a wave. *what... what am i doing?*

they pulled back immediately, heart hammering. ⠀⠀⠀⠀“ i—- ”

suddenly, his fingers wrapped around her wrist before she could fully retreat.

nira tensed, their breath hitching, but giulio’s grip was gentle, his gloved thumb brushing against her pulse point in a slow, deliberate motion.

" ... is that all you’re giving me? " ⠀⠀⠀⠀his voice was low, breathy and quiet, but laced with something unreadable. as if the restraint that normally was held in his voice was breaking —- and like they were the cause.

nira’s lips parted, their breath caught between words they couldn’t form.

and then, before they could think, before they could let themselves hesitate again, or let alone answer —- giulio moved.

standing up from his chair at the table, his hand came up to cup the side of their face, fingers threading into their hair, and he pulled them back in. this time, there was no hesitation, not from him.

their lips met —- soft at first, uncertain, but the moment nira melted into it, the moment they let themselves sink into the warmth of him, it deepened.

their hand moved from the rim of the table — where they had been holding — to the nape of his neck, pedicured nails threading through his loose hair.

it was a slow kiss. not rushed, not desperate, but lingering —- like he was savoring it, like he had been waiting for this just as long as they had. (which was true)

his lips were warm, his touch steady, grounding.

and for once, nira didn’t pull away.

⠀⠀⠀⠀for once, they let themselves stay.

i dont have much info on them besides that the first one has a hair manipulation quirk (think bayonetta or arms) and the other one can grow bones out of his skin hope u enjoy these goobers

Painting practice with Avery! This is one of her older costumes that she used in her earlier Hero years. Past her official Duo costume, I'm a little iffy on her earlier costume designs. I know I want her to have a scientist aesthetic, but pulling that off without yanking a design straight from the anime and scraping the barcode off is proving to be a little difficult. (I'm still worried she looks too much like Burnin and Mirko, but. it is what it is).
