This is actually one way I keep my OC’s fresh and interesting in my own brain while working on long fics. It adds perspective to see how they’d react in different circumstances and often helps me puzzle through bits of the story that are less interesting to write. 10/10 recommend.

1. Zack actually had brown straight hair when I first designed him lol but his eye color and everything else has always been the same. Main important things about are he’s a. Tall b. lil chubby c. Edgy boi

2. Actually my OC Spooky Dan was also designed around the same time and they had a romantic relationship lol now they’re just broooooos

3. Zack is always a name that I liked? Idk it’s a pretty common name it’s not really that special lol. He feels more like a real person I guess. I considered other names for him in the past too, Spencer was a strong contender.

4. He tries really hard to be someone you wanna be friends with but he’s kind of a jerk lol. He is a very talented vocalist but he’s overbearing to work with creatively.

5. I decided at some point he still canonically has brown hair but he dyes it black. I wanted him to have black hair because he just wasn’t goth enough lol. He has definitely gotten more alt over the years.

6. Nah I just think blue eyes are pretty. They are supposed to be a pretty pale shade of blue though, kind of haunting looking.

7. He’s tall as faaaawk he’s like 6’2 cuz idk i think big boys are nice??? Cuz he’s like optimal waist hugging height 😌

9. Uuuuuyh yeah I would say a lot of aspects of Zack’s character are sort of projections of how I might see myself as a boy. Is he ME though? No I don’t think so he’s got his own personality.

10. He realizes really quickly after being an obstinate jackass for like 3 chapters his girlfriends are “his people” because for the longest part of his life he didn’t have any idea he’s part demon and now he has some demon girls who I keep him company heheh

11. He was gay when I first made him and then I was like…. What if he like gorl too tho…. Now he’s a bisexual disaster.

Not making him TOO much of a “fantasy boy” I’ve always tried really hard to make it seem like he’s someone who could really exist, like he just doesn’t have his shit together all the time even though he really tries. Like he’s not TOO conventionally attractive- he’s handsome, but he has some extra weight on him, he goes to the gym -sometimes- but he’s not super consistent and he hates dieting. Most of the time he dresses pretty “normal”, he looks like a hot mess sometimes, doesn’t always shave, doesn’t spend a ton of time on his hair he either throws it up in a man bun or lets the curls do whatever they want. Things like that I’ve put a lot thought into just like how he maintains himself as a person.
