Reasons I want to go to a women's college
a higher concentration of women means a higher concentration of lesbians, as in higher chance of me getting a gf
more equitable access to STEM programs (students at women's colleges are 1.5 x more likely to be participating in a STEM program than women at co-ed schools)
getting a gf
women's colleges tend to be smaller schools with close-knit communities and involved professors (not to say that all professors are great, but there tend to be more research opportunities, etc at women's colleges)
getting a gf
they tend to be accepting towards lgbtq+ students, and many of them accept nonbinary students as well now.
many women's colleges have good leadership programs
getting a gf

Southwest LRT Bryn Mawr Station construction in Minneapolis. The train station features a very long pedestrian bridge to Wayzata Blvd/Penn Ave. Looks to be pretty close to being finished with the glass panels in and new visible branding on the tower.

7 Essential Tips for Lip Filler Aftercare
Tumblr media
When patients choose lip fillers, Bryn Mawr’s Cirillo Cosmetic Dermatology Spa team explains that many are naturally curious about how to manage side effects from the treatment, as well as what else to expect.
Why choose fillers? Women and men who have lost volume in their lips due to aging or who have always had small lips are often seeking ways to add fullness. With that in mind, lip fillers have become increasingly popular in recent times, with individuals all over the world seeking to enhance their lips and achieve a plumper, more youthful appearance. One desired effect? Fillers provide longer-lasting results when compared to makeup.
Lip enhancement with fillers involves injecting a gel—typically with a hyaluronic acid base—into the lips, providing volume, symmetry, and definition. These treatments can not only add plumpness, but also add definition to the borders of the lips and reduce wrinkles around the mouth. Due to their safety, biocompatibility, and temporary effects, hyaluronic acid fillers are the most popular types used for lip injections.
While lip fillers can be a fantastic way to achieve the desired aesthetic, proper aftercare is crucial to ensure a successful and comfortable recovery process. Your medical professional  will provide you with specific aftercare instructions tailored to your needs. It’s important to follow aftercare guidelines to get the best results possible and minimize discomfort.
Let’s explore the best tips for lip filler aftercare.
1. Reduce Bruising
Mild bruising is a common side effect for lip injections, and it may not be possible to completely avoid it.. You can apply certain topical creams such as aloe vera, vitamin K, and arnica to the injection site if you have bruising, but be sure to check with your healthcare provider first.
2. Don’t Touch or Press Your Lips
Try to avoid touching, rubbing, or manipulating your lips during the first few days after lip fillers. Although everyday movement is fine, placing too much pressure directly on the injection site could cause the filler to be distributed unevenly and compromise the work your injector has done. Since the mouth is an area of the face that’s prone to regular repetitive  movement, filler a tends to wear off faster in the lips compared to other facial areas. Agitating the area too much could also cause the filler to wear off at a faster rate.
3. Apply Cold Compresses
Applying cold compresses to the treated area can help reduce swelling and ease any discomfort. Be sure to wrap the ice pack in a clean cloth and apply it for short intervals to prevent frostbite. Covering it in a thin cloth helps to prevent it sticking to the lip and causing pain. Cold compresses can help to alleviate side effects like swelling, itching, bruising, and discomfort.
4. Avoid Trauma to Your Lips
Any kind of trauma to the sensitive tissue of your lips should be avoided after you have had your treatment. This includes lip biting. You should also avoid using a straw during the first 24 to 48 hours as it can cause pressure and distortion to the filler.
5. Don’t Have Overly Hot or Cold Foods
Keep food you consume at a moderate temperature after you’ve had lip fillers. Overly cold foods could cause frostbite and overly hot foods could end up burning the lips.
6. Avoid Strenuous Physical Activities
Refrain from engaging in strenuous exercises or activities that may increase blood flow to the face for at least 24 to 48 hours after the procedure. Heavy exercise can raise your heartrate and blood pressure, which can worsen any swelling and bruising from lip fillers.
7. Don’t Try to Gauge Your Final Results
Although you will be excited to see your new look, remember that it will be difficult to gauge how successful your treatment is right after you’ve had it as it can take some time for swelling and bruising to resolve and for the filler to integrate fully. The final results are typically seen within four to eight weeks.
Ready to learn more about aftercare for lip fillers? Bryn Mawr’s Cirillo Cosmetic Dermatology Spa can explain more about what you should and shouldn’t do after lip injections. Call 610.525.5029 or fill out a contact form if you would like to request a consultation to talk about cosmetic treatments.
