“You know, we both have driver’s rooms for this sort of thing,” you breathed, giggling when Charles’ facial hair tickled your neck. 

His mouth sucked gently on the pulse point thrumming beneath his tongue, tracing kisses from your ear down to your collarbone. The stack of worn tyres cushioned your back as he pressed your harder against them when you reached around to pinch his backside. 

“Oi, I’m talking to you.” 

“I’m sorry, mon ange, but you looked so good when you were giving that interview. And you kept laughing-”

“Oh, so it’s not that I’m so irresistible that you couldn't wait until we were safely in the garage. It’s that you were jealous.” You raised an eyebrow at him, unable to fight the smile at his rougish grin. 

“You are irresistible,” he murmured, hands snaking around your waist to pull you flush against him. “Why else would I be making out with you in an alley behind the motorhome?”

“Because you’re a horndog.” 

You and Charles had been dating for the past year, having met after he caught you winding up his younger brother one race weekend. Ferrari had been eyeing you up all year, asking the Monagesque what he thought of you, prompting him to pay closer attention. Prior to you signing your contract, you’d had to disclose your relationship to Fred Vasseur. Whilst the senior members of the team were aware of your more-than-teammates status, the majority of the paddock were in the dark. Both of you wished to keep the relationship under wraps until your rookie year in F1 had passed, reducing speculation that Charles was the only reason you got your seat. Sneaking around the motorhome was a lot safer than making out behind tyre stacks, but Charles didn’t care at this moment in time. 

“You going to be nice and let me win today?” He teased, nibbling at your lower lip. 

“I think you mean, am I going to let you massage my feet after I win? I won here last year.”

“Yes, yes, bow down to you.”

“Well, I do like you on your knees.” 

Grinning, Charles captured your lips with his once more. Tongue swiping against your bottom lip, he groaned against you when your tongue met his. Hands snaking into his hair, you tugged gently on the soft strands, enjoying the whimper you pulled from his lips. He tilted his hips, pressing himself against you. 

“The things you do to me.”

A loud cough - more of a throat clearing - tore the two of you apart. Wide eyed and panting, you both turned in horror to look at the misfortune person who stumbled across you. Fred Vasseur stood at the end of the alleyway, shaking his head at his two drivers. It was bad enough watching them make heart eyes at each other during data reviews but this. Behind him stood a cameraman and a mic guy, mouths agape at their luck. Drive to Survive would be flooded with viewers once they teased this. Breaking News: Ferrari drivers caught locking lips in secret tryst. 

“I’ve got Netflix following me around today.” Fred said bluntly, staring you both down. 

“Oh crap.”

“Yeah.”

"this one's too bitter." you said as you took a sip of the very dark, very black coffee, having a displeased expression as the taste lingered on your tongue.

mark made a jokingly judging face at you. "i don't understand why you'd ever get coffee that gross..."

"i wanted to try it out!" you felt regretful. maybe some new things weren't for the better. "i haven't had black coffee in a long time, i wanted to try it again and see if my taste buds changed." you sighed, "they didn't."

you and mark had continued to walk down the streets of seoul in the rising morning. both having free time, you decided to spend this young day together.

"we can go to another cafe baby, i don't mind." mark links his hand into your free one, the other still bringing the coffee to your mouth. mark looks at you, "why're you still drinking that?"

he yoinked the coffee out of your hand and threw it out in a nearby garbage bin. after some time, you both came upon the next cafe. "let's try this one," your boyfriend states.

it was a cozy cafe; it looked super welcoming and calm, something perfect for you and mark to enjoy yourselves in.

"it's so cute in here!" you exclaimed quietly looking around, quite amazed at the scenery in this shop.

mark giggles at the awestruck girl before him, and doesn't take his eyes off of her whilst waiting in line.

once you both ordered your drinks, the 2-seater table by the corner was calling your names.

"these are perfect instagram photos!" you had took a few aesthetic photos of whatever you thought was cute around you, including the gorgeous boy sitting across from you. a few candid, a few poses; as mark had done the same to you with his phone.

minutes have gone by - chatter, enjoying company, loving gazes exchanged had happened like any couple in love. "how's the coffee?" mark had hoped that at least this time this coffee had been at least a little better; which wasn't a wild accusation, since the beverage certainly was lighter.

"oh, 100% better." you nodded. "this one is like, actually amazing..! it's like the perfect amount of sugar, literally. this is definitely on my list for top 5 coffee's i've had." you smile and continuously sip the drink.

eventually, you had gotten too deep into explaining how this coffee felt, and how it compared to different coffees, before rambling on and on about different coffees.

"and then that vanilla one- man, it was so good.. it was like- why're you looking at me like that?" a shy smile spread across your face as mark looked at you with the most puppy-like love eyes that had always made you melt.

"no, no, keep going," mark motioned you to keep yapping about your chronicles of coffee experiences. "i'm listening." a smile hadn't left his face.

a blush spread across your face, "well, i'm shy now.." you looked away and drank the last of the coffee.

the rest of the day was spent enjoying each other's company hand in hand, buying small trinkets for each other walking down the comfortable, and now familiar streets. and, obviously, stopping at all the nearby cafes possible.

if there's anything mark would do, he would always be seated at any of your coffee critique sessions. as long as it had anything to do with you yapping, count him in.

Robert, sensing his time was running out, asked Patti to sit for a family portrait with her children, a poignant acknowledgment of their enduring bond. This photograph, taken in New York City, captures not just a moment but a lifetime of shared experiences. In it, Robert’s presence looms large, his composition imbued with both fragility and strength. The same year, Patti released Dream of Life, her first album in nearly a decade, featuring the anthemic "People Have the Power." Today, their legacy lives on through the Mapplethorpe Foundation, which supports AIDS research and photography grants, and through Patti’s music and writing, which continue to inspire new generations. Their story is one of art, love, and resilience—a reminder that even in the face of loss, the creative spirit endures.
