Hello everybody!! I know I haven't been very active in the community or on this blog in a while... I did kind of start a YouTube channel but didn't really promote it here (if anyone's curious, this is me).

ANYWAYS! Over the last few weeks, I've been dicking around trying to create a snz game, because I just feel like we don't have any and that's so lame.

So consider this a preview of my game--I've worked pretty hard on it and it's almost finished (nothing crazy. I'm making it in scratch because I do not know how to code at all lmao, but honestly, I enjoyed this experience, so I will be looking into more serious engines).

The game itself has several animations I created and a library of sounds (which I recorded because I wouldn't want to use someone else's voice obviously).

The main objetive of the game is to avoid getting caught before time runs out. You have to balance several variables, such as the need to sneeze, the tickliness of your nose, and how loud each action is. There are also some randomized events (which I'm still working on. My overambitious nature is the reason this isn't already finished haha).

Anyways! I just wanted to share what I've been working on and see if anyone had any thoughts :) Hope ya'll will actually want to play it because I've invested too many hours into this project ngl.

B has been feeling a little weird all day. A little shivery, a little tired, a little achey, starting to get sniffly, but overall okay. They don’t feel sick per se, just a little off.

Cut to B having a little movie night with their partner A, who is cradling B’s head in their lap. A is carding softly through their hair as they feel B’s breathing start to grow deeper and slower. They smile and move their fingers down towards B’s eyes, only to brush their forehead and stop. Is it just them, or is B feeling a little warm? They move their hand to B’s cheek, their other cupping the nape of their neck.

“You feeling okay? You feel really warm,” A asked, feeling B roll a little bit in their lap.

B mumbled something before burying their hot face deeper into the blankets and sniffling liquidly.

“Aw honey, let me get you some Tylenol so you can get some rest.”

Sneezing dynamics I like

Apologetic sneezes. I don’t need to say much more. Maybe when they’re really tired, they forget to apologize after sneezing, making the other person worry.

Someone who usually stifles their sneezes but doesn’t when they’re REALLY comfortable with someone. They’re not very loud either.

False starts. Both the sneezer and the observer can feel the same type of frustration and desperation.

A person who appears outgoing, charismatic, confident, and naturally elegant but becomes shy and embarrassed when they lose control. They might stifle sneezes whenever possible, trying to avoid drawing attention, which ironically ends up drawing more attention, and then apologizes out of habit.

Someone politely steps aside from another person to sneeze into their elbow, turning to the side. "Sorry, what were you saying..." They compose themselves, but then, just a few seconds later, they turn away to sneeze again in the middle of the other person’s sentence.

Continuing the interrupted sentence after a sneeze, causing the words to come out breathless, tired, or congested.

"I didn’t know you sneezed so much when you were sick." Rediscovering new aspects of someone when they’re sick.

Becoming more affectionate or clingy when not feeling well?

Raising a finger to pause the other person before sneezing. A classic.

Sneezing into the elbow, wrist, or forearm.

Sneezing into a handkerchief, muffled, and then blowing their nose almost immediately.

Sneezing twice in such quick succession that the other person struggles to tell if it was one or two sneezes.

"Sorry, I can’t stop" or "Sorry, it got me..."

The other person grabs a roll of paper towels, asks a third person for tissues, or hands over napkins without the sneezy one asking, just because they see them sniffling or tearing up more than usual.

“Bless you. And bless you” before they sneeze a second time, just because of their pre-sneeze face.

"ATChsshu! [Insert generic sneeze sound] "Achu. Bless you!" The other person imitates the sneeze, not mockingly, just because they find it cute, before blessing them.

Fanning themselves before sneezing without realizing it, or subtly rubbing one side of their nose with a curved finger to hold back the sneeze.

SOFT sneezes. Not stifled, just intrinsically soft, as if they didn’t have the strength to sneeze more forcefully.

Clenching their teeth to stifle a sneeze and exhaling through their teeth afterward.

Two people sleeping next to each other, one spooning the other from behind. The big spoon can’t avoid sneezing but holds it back to avoid spraying the little spoon, making their whole body shake. The effort leaves them dizzy.

Sneeze followed by a congested, heavy exhalation. Pressing the bridge of the nose and shaking their head. Blinking several times and trying to concentrate on the pile of work in front of them.

Someone at public events who don’t want to sneeze, making subtle gestures like rubbing their nose with a finger, clearing their throat, swallowing, or squinting. They’re more distracted than usual, sniffling very discreetly, pressing the bridge of their nose.

A stoic character in a position of power losing control. Their subordinates seeing them as human for the first time and growing fond of their condition.

They usually sneeze in a certain way until suddenly they let out a different sneeze (maybe because they’re tired of stifling it or because it’s stronger than usual), and the other person exclaims, “Bless you!” instead of blessing them softly, and makes a comment about it. “That was strong, are you okay?”

Small comforting gestures, almost unconsciously. Lightly rubbing their back, a small touch on the forearm or leg, or gently brushing their hair.

A very polite, elegant person cursing after their fifth or sixth sneeze in a fit. “...fuck. So sorry, I can’t stop…”

“Ok-eh-aysSHTCHu!” A sneeze mixing with the last word they were saying.

A character with a mystical, almost distant aura. Probably powerful, mysterious, doing something as mundane as sneezing and “coming down” to earth. “Don’t look at me like that. It’s normal.”

Sneezing during an interview. So many situations could happen with this 🤭

“I’m going to die” A little bit of drama, exhausted, after a very strong sneezing fit.

Workaholic sick.

Sneezing and/or while smoking.

Hnnggg, how about pillow talk sneezes.

Lying face to face as close as you can while still able to see one another. Listening quietly as they express their exhaustion from battling back their cold all day at work. You keep running your fingers through their hair, lightly scratching their scalp. Then a soft concern mixing with undeniable arousal when they cut themselves off abruptly, hurrying to bury their face into the pillow to muffle a trio of aggressive, body-shaking, sneezes only to resurface sniffling and whispering “S’cuse mbe.”

Sneezing While Hiding: The Game RELEASE

Here she is! One of the craziest projects I've ever undertaken... and I can't wait to make more!

Disclaimer: This is my first-ever attempt to develop a game... I've literally never done coding or anything before, and this was created in Scratch... that means this is FAR from perfect. There are glitches and issues that I am aware of, but it's at a point where I'm happy releasing it. None of the issues should be game-breaking, but please let me know if you run into any serious problems! Minor glitches though... yeah

ANYWAYS! The game itself is pretty simple. You're hiding in a closet but you have to sneeze. You can choose to stifle, muffle, or holdback your sneezes, but you have to watch the clock and avoid letting your nose get too tickly while keeping quiet enough to stay hidden. There's a brief tutorial option in the game that explains the mechanics in more detail!

This game features nearly 100 sneeze-related sound effects, hand-drawn animations, and a lot of time/effort, so I really hope you enjoy!

someone standing in the kitchen dressed in button up striped pajamas and fuzzy slippers and a bathrobe with a comforter from their bed pulled around their shoulders, a scarf around their neck, breathing through their mouth and sniffling as they read the instructions on a bottle of severe cold and flu relief nasal spray; they're currently on day 2 or 3 of some kind of bug, and they've been spending all their time between their bed and the couch, trying to get some rest between miserable violent sneezing fits that pull them back awake and make their sinuses pound with pressure. they lick their chapped lips, prime the nasal spray, and put it up their left nostril.

it disturbs their nose hairs in their swollen canals, and they almost feel the start of a sneeze; but it dissapears, thankfully. they let out a little stuffed sigh and pull down the trigger on the nasal spray, sniffling the best they can through the snot at the same time, but before they can even remove the applicator a sneeze comes barreling out as their sick, red nostrils violently reject the medication. they sneeze again, and again, and again, the sneezes blasting through their already swollen, tired passagways and proelling snot all over the counter. they sniffle and start into another heavy, aching fit, then another, and their sinuses and head feel like they're going to explode, pounding and aching. still sniffling and sneezing violently they fumble around in the fridge until they find a cold pack to press to their head miserably, which they do between the sneezing, which continues on and on so badly it draws the attention of their partner.

"Sounds like that nasal spray isn't gonna work," they say sympathetically, rubbing their back. Another explosive sneezing fit barely covered, their poor nose spasming wildly; then they stop, let out a phglemy cough and a sniffle, and press the cold pack back to their sinuses with a stuffy groan.

"Babe," they say in a rough, husky voice, rendered gravelly from the constant sneezing, "I thigg I deed do lay bagg dowd for a bidd...by head is godda bursd..." and then their pink-rimmed eyelids flutter again as another fit comes barreling out, one after another.

Hmmm, what of morning sneezes…

You wake to their body shifting closer at your back and a warm arm curling around you. Just as sleep starts to pull you under again, you hear their breath stagger. A quiet throaty sound right in your ear. You can feel their chest swell against you at such close proximity. Another shuddering breath followed by a short pause… arousal sizzling through you. When they duck against you, sneezing helplessly against your neck and shoulder, their whole body trembles from the force. Even their arm tightens around you as if they needed something to hold on to as this gnarly cold rattles them.

With a wet sniffle they curse in a raspy voice plagued with congestion. “Fu’gg, sorry.”
