The Mystery of Jones Vs *Jones
Tumblr media
Our 3rd Great Grandfather (or 2nd Great Grandfather for the older generation), Jacob L Jones, was born in 1850, in the county seat of Cadiz, Harrison County, Ohio the the third child of parents Daniel Jones and his wife Margaret Riegel Jones. Daniel was working as a "house carpenter" and living next door to Margaret's parents, Jacob and Anna Reigel, along with the Riegel's twelve children.
When the family moved West the 800 miles from Ohio, west to Madison County, Iowa they landed in Jefferson Township where farming became a way of life. Jacob's future wife, Barabra Gutshall lived in the area where her father was one of the first settler's in the Jefferson area.
Jacob married Barbara in 1872 and they lived and farmed in the area where their four children were born, Ida, Aletha (Letha), Primrose and son George. I've not yet tracked down when Barbara died, but it was some time between 1879 and 1884, when Jacob married his 2nd wife, Anna Margaret *Jones, who was 8 years his junior. I've added an asterisk to the non-blood related Joneses to help keep which Jones is which.
Anna's family had lived in Iowa for several years prior, her uncle being on of the first white settlers in the area. Anna's parents, George Worth *Jones and Hanna Maple had also migrated from Ohio to Iowa several years prior to our Jones Family. George and Hanna had ten children. George had been married twice prior to marrying Hanna, but I've been unable to deterime if they had any children. While Anna was the oldest of the 10 children, the second born was son Theodore "Thede" Charles *Jones, who was just one year younger than Anna.
When Jacob married Anna in 1884, they had eight children, Sylvia Faye, Jacob Earl, Carl Oliver, Zelma Belle, Gladys Anna, Vera Jenney, William Wallace and Hannah Luenne. The two oldest children were born in Nebraska and the rest were born in Madison County, Iowa.
Technically, when Jacob had his second family from a *Jones, all the children became blood-related Joneses as they are half siblings to Ida, Letha, Primrose and George.
Then, it happened.
This is where it gets confusing.
Anna's brother, Theordore "Thede" *Jones married Jacob and Margaret's daughter, Ida. So, essentially, Ida married her step-uncle.
Thede and Ida eventually settled and lived on the Jones Ranch in Dawson County. They had six children, Bessie Lenore (married Burtch), Letha Mae (who died at age 16), Theodore Clinton, Jessie Joy (married Sutton), Hope Ida (married Tripp) and Rose Priscilla (who die at age 1).
With Ida's maiden name being Jones and her married name being *Jones, all their children, while by birth are *Jones from their father's name, by blood due to their mother Ida being a blood related Jones, are really Joneses, of the non *Jones type.
Hopefully this helps explain the confusion of Jones vs *Jones.
Below is a diagram showing the connection between the two families

plots
ok but a plot where muse a and muse b match in tinder and they start talking and get on so well. they think they’re perfect for each other. muse a is smart, gorgeous and such a good girl.muse b is handsome, funny and likes her a lot. they talk for weeks but never have time to meet until one day when muse a comes back home from college to have a dinner with her parents and stay for the weekend and finds out that her older sister is staying too with his new boyfriend. and yes… her boy from tinder is her sister’s boyfriend. — walberto
i just want a plot where muse a & muse b meet through mutual friends & end up fucking right after they meet & it’s like mind blowingly good & the only times they see each other are when their mutual friends are together but literally every time they see each other they have sex & eventually they both have relationships but old habits die hard so they still fuck .…. . i;m dying to write out a scene between the two of them where they’re pulling their clothes back on & muse a gives muse b a smart ass look & says ‘i heard your boyfriend got a promotion, did ya celebrate?’ & muse b snaps back with a completely straight face ‘your fiancee invited me to your engagement party, think i should go?’ — shaye
i really want a plot where this totally sweet girl is dating this total ass and he prob cheats on her all the time and is so shitty to her but she stays because she’s sweet and caring and he’s all she’s ever known and they used to be so in love but anyways he’s totally one of those guys who brings around his douche friends and they sit on the couch and talk about chicks and drugs and partying and she is supposed 2 be the regular house wife gf who brings them food and sits next to him when they watch movies so he can flaunt her and just be /: a dick /: anyways his fellow douche friend starts to slowly be like god this guy is so awful to her and he starts following her out of the room instead of staying to high five his friend for cheating on her w some club girl and idk he just generally starts hanging out with her more while her bf and his other friends hang out in the basement or some shit and they’ll like sit on the porch while he smokes and they just talk or he’ll help her make food or anything and it can go so many cute ways tbh like ?he could be listening to the friend brag about sleeping around one day or see him being shitty to her like yelling at her for nothing ro smth and just be like damn i’ve had enough and finally break and yell at his friend and fight for her and accidently admit that he thinks she’s totally amazing and he’d cherish her sm or he could kiss her one night while they’re talking and they could start sneaking around behind the friends back or anything so ! — samaric
*whispers* single dad ( hell maybe not so single dad ) & nanny plot. where she’s got the biggest infatuation with him and he’s trying his best to ignore how good she looks in her short skirts and dresses. her “accidentally” bumping into him in nothing but a towel. late nights completely tired after getting the baby to bed and falling asleep on the couch together. her finally showing up in his bedroom in nothing but lingerie ;) — kamia
ok but someone give me that cute bartender storyline though? like this guy tends bar at a restaurant or a pub or something and always sees this cute girl hanging out there, but she’s always either with friends or with some guy so he never really gets the time to talk to her but one day she walks into the place alone and orders so many drinks until she’s so bloody drunk, screaming about how her boyfriend cheated on her, that the bartender had to bring her home himself. she wakes up with a horrible hangover, stumbles out the room to find the bartender cooking breakfast and rolling his eyes, laughing. “first of all, you’re an idiot. second, we didn’t have sex if that’s what you’re wondering. third, breakfast will be ready soon. sit.” and fluff commences help plz — elome
so the other night i was with friend cop, and i went to give him a hug goodbye, and he turned off his radio (???) and i asked what was up and he said “last time we hugged your shoulder hit my radio and called dispatch” and i thought he meant like, the 911 dispatcher but no i accidentally radioed every single other officer on shift and they all heard him say “i love you- oh shit my radio’s on” — alfrissa

  Raymond Howard Caldwell, age 58
Raymond Howard Caldwell, age 58, of North Wilkesboro, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, March 8, 2019. He was surrounded by his family and love ones as he peacefully met Jesus and entered his eternal home. Raymond was born August 23, 1960 in Oxford, Pennsylvania to Oscar Howard and Esta Stanley Caldwell. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dallas Gene Caldwell and James David Caldwell.
He served in the United States Army National Guard, where of many values he developed a superb work ethic. Raymond was known to work hard for his family and love ones during his lifetime. He was selfless. Many times he would sacrifice his needs and wants to make sure his kids and family were taken care of first. His jobs ranged from installing siding and windows to selling auto parts and working at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Raymond was an avid softball player, with a wall full of trophies. As wells as a coach for local county little league for many years. He enjoyed working on and restoring old cars. Anyone who knew Raymond was well aware of his "itch" to find an old 70's car and bring it back to its luster.
His love of people was evident by just meeting Raymond. "Everyone Loves Raymond" wasn't a joke, because if you met Raymond he infected you with his laughter, jokes and his love of life. He never met a stranger and would talk to you about his love for the Lord Jesus, as well as, listening to your stresses to help lift your burdens. Raymond was always ready with an uplifting word. He always had a joke handy, one of which was to send a new siding installer to the truck for the "siding stretcher"(think about it , "can you stretch siding?) He was blessed to work many years with two of his sons and his longtime friend, Randy Little, in the siding business. He had an infectious smile, since of humor, love of life and love for his Lord Jesus which he was entrusted his family with to carry forward.
Raymond's love of animals brought many rescues to his home, two of which were a small scotty dog named "Razor" that went everywhere Raymond went tucked in an inner jacket pocket or under a shirt to go "bye-bye" for a truck ride. Razor passed years ago and his affections were taken over by a tail-less kitten that he nursed to health. McKenna became his loyal companion and would not leave his side. She even played fetch with him as he would throw a pencil and she would run get it, flip it in her mouth and bring it back to him. She calmed him in later months of his illness and she was at his side as Raymond passed.
Surviving are his wife, Melissa McLeese-Caldwell of the home; sons, Jeffrey Allen Caldwell and wife Kristy of Wilkesboro, Phillip Nathan McLeese and wife Sarah of Jefferson, Jeremy Scott Osborne and wife Samantha of Boomer; daughter, Erica McLeese Billings and husband Jonathan of North Wilkesboro; brother, , John Richard Cardwell of North Wilkesboro  his "grands", Joshua Scott Osborne, Bryson Lee Osborne, Eliana Grace Caldwell, Adilyn Bell Caldwell, John Thomas "J.T." Billings and "J.T.'s baby sister Audrey Kate Billings, due in June; brothers, Donald Franklin Walter and wife Nancy of North Wilkesboro; sisters, Della Kathleen Osborne and husband David, Wilkesboro, Debra Ann Jones of Mtn. View, Esta Marie Caldwell of Hiddenite; and one of his best pals Jerry Call, who was like a father to him.
