Semi-Hiatus

Due to health reasons, I am putting this blog and my main on semi-hiatus. I am by no means abandoning it or leaving permanently, but while I'm trying to heal up, I will be less active. Thank you for understanding!

Considering It's Halloween...

Nebilim loved this holiday. She watched from her place, perched on top of a church steeple, and surveyed everyone below her. The children, dressed in various monster outfits, went door to door to play tricks or gather treats. It was a way for families, friends, towns, and cities to come together as a community.

It was also the perfect opportunity. When she stood up, she used her wings for balance and smiled. Oh yes, this was going to be a lovely holiday, washed in blood and mired in destruction. What better day could she have chosen?

As her lips pulled back, her eyes widening, she raised her hands over her head and screamed, "HAPPY HALLOWEEN!"

Then the nearest square went up in flames.

Complete Darkness

Darkness. That was all Jade could see for a moment before his vision cleared. This area seemed so vaguely familiar—Was this…

… He manages to get to his feet. He felt weak for some reason. He looks around—Indeed, this was the place he’d last seen that blasted replica, before her sudden return. He sees her standing not too far away. He kept his guard up, despite the strange exhaustion he felt.

"What is the meaning of this?"

Nebilim stands not far from him, but she does not look like herself. She is like a super imposed image: one part of her looks utterly different than the other. In one moment, she is as she was when human: dressed in her warm sweater and coat, her face sweet and smiling, her eyes gentle. In another, she is the demon, wings extending from her back, lips pulled back in a mock grin, her long, thin fingers grasping into fists at her sides.

"Hello Jade," she greets him, and it’s a melange of those voices, but the replica’s is always stronger. She approaches him slowly, carefully, though it is clear she does not fear him. Her fingers gently caress the underside of his chin, but she is far gone before there is a chance at retaliation.

The place is cold, frozen still, though the shards of ice Nebilim was once trapped in are broken and scattered. So too are numerous broken weapons, some hers, others of people gone astray. 

But no matter what she keeps smiling at him.

Jade simply stared, tense, but never letting it show. His arm in front of him to draw his spear if necessary. He could tell she was trying to torment him and mess with his mind again, moving from her psychotic self to that of the teacher he had loved so dearly. The voice didn't help.

"You didn't answer my question. Why am I here, and what are you planning?" ..There was a certain tension, almost anger in his tone. He tenses, pulling back, much like a frightened child, as she touched his chin. This... This was unlike her. Even then, she still continued to smile. He glanced about the familiar environment, not moving his head.

Headcanon

Nebilim was always protective of her charges, though she let them play and learn and get hurt. Whenever they got hurt, she was there with a bandage and a smile.

She would have died for them if it meant keeping them safe.
