ok so daisuga and they live together and Suga absolutely hates mosquitoes. whenever he sees one he goes apeshit trying to kill it. at first it starts with randomly trying to grab the mozzie out of the air, then he's clapping loudly trying to squish it, and when that doesn't work he goes feral like a cat trying to get a laser. he's jumping over things and diving under things, knocking things over. meanwhile Daichi is just sitting drinking his tea or w/e, and not phased. when Suga finally gets the mozzie Daichi applauds him, like 'well done.' Suga dubs mozzies his personal nemesis, Daichi is 'meh' about them

Suga goes feral when there're a mosquito in the room. Daichi had put nettings in the windows in their room, since summer is hot and they need air circulation. He doesn't like them, but he isn't as bothered by them. If he gets a sting, he treats it with a warm cloth and tends to forget about it. He is more worried about Suga, who tends to scratch them, until he gets an open wound.

Sugawara has tried everything. He goes trough insects-prays when they are on a hike and needs to live with that sticky residue on his body the whole day. He buys an mosquito-coil to hopefully keep them away and buys everything he deems somewhat useful in his war against them. Daichi wants him to not use money on useless shit, but this is a war in his mind. That is why, once he sees an mosquito in the room when he literally uses the coil as incense, he gets so upset.

He hears them buzz and then he can't rest until the thing is dead or out of his house. Daichi is no help, but at least he gets a little bit of praise from him when he kills the intruder. Sugawara wants to get a cat or chameleon that can haunt them, but Daichi says that is stupid reason to get pets.

He doesn't smell like chemicals in the summer for them still to come towards him!!!

y'know when i first created grimm i think wolfwood was like. vaguely at the back of my mind as a kinda similar character bc i had recently watched both trigun animes but now i'm reading trimax and i'm like okay. there are Similarities here

Right dogblr peeps I need some help.

I’ve been seeing a lovely guy, R, for a couple of weeks and the last two dates he’s been at mine... Atticus has no problems meeting new people out and about beyond a bit of typical puppy excitedness, and when we stay with my parents all his attention goes to Gatsby and he ignores my mum and dad. Unfortunately I haven’t had/made opportunities to have people come over to my flat while he’s been growing up and it shows (my only local friends are colleagues really and I don’t see them out of work). When R comes over Atti is LOSING HIS DAMN MIND and won’t leave him alone or settle down at all. When he gets excited his mouthing turns harder and leaves marks, and also he’s managed to rip holes in 3 items of R’s clothing. It’s embarrassing!

What we’ve tried so far is heavily rewarding calm behaviour and being on his bed when R first arrives, we put a barrier across the room to begin with. This did work to some extent but isn’t sustainable for the whole evening. Last time we moved into the garden and played tug, throwing the rope between us to move his focus to/from R a bit - this also helped. The first time, we had some success with turning the lights off while we had a film on and Atti eventually conked out at about 11.30. Last time he was on the go until R left at about 2am and then he fell asleep within a minute of him leaving!

Excitement at the start of the night is fine and expected and manageable… the main frustration is when Atti is clearly ridiculously tired but still GOGOGO and constantly climbing onto R on the sofa and chomping at his hands/arms/hair/clothes. I’ve put him in the other room, I’ve blocked him off in the kitchen (kinda worked as long as we didn’t move a muscle 😂), he’s had chews and lickimats and distractions. If separated he claws at the door and cries - he doesn’t really do this when it’s just me at home.

I will absolutely be getting his crate out for next time and returning to ‘putting him to bed’ when he’s behaving like an obnoxiously tired toddler - it used to work when he was younger and couldn’t regulate himself. We’re also going out for a walk with him later today - hopefully the more distracting environment will help a bit.

I know a lot it is going to be time and repeated meetings until Atti doesn’t find R so exciting but if anyone has any suggestions for how to make this a bit easier for all involved I’d be super grateful!

Cosplay and costuming youtub is a wild and lawless place....full of wonders and new ideas, but the thing that impresses me most is the people who make elaborate costumes for thier dogs.....

Let me explain.

I have had exactly one dog. Bella, who was a 30lb terrior mutt with a fondess for dirty socks, salmon skin and NPR*....

She was smart, and highly opinionated and best of all had no trouble translating these options to our family. She fit in perfectly with the rest of the family and we adored her for her snobbery.

Bella and my dad shared a strong conviction that dogs should not wear clothes....

So I see these I internet dogs who stand nicely and allow thier humans to fit them for outfits without even a disgusted look and I think "wow, what is going in in these dogs head".....

To not only make doggy clothes but to convince the dog that it wants clothes.....now that is impressive.
