#Bite Marks || Headcanon

I've always found the.. for lack of better term, "aftercare" parts of a mating gland being bitten on an omega/alpha (since in my own personal view of the omegaverse, both of those secondary genders would have mating glands to break) while the pair were claiming eachother interesting.

I've seen some people write it so that if the proper "aftercare"/ritual wasn't given to the omega/alpha that'd been bitten, they started to get woozy or even a bit sick.

I guess my question is- What's your take on mating glands and mating bonds/the culture that would grow around them?

I also believe everyone has a gland to break - and that it only becomes "soft enough" to break consensually and in the presence of love hormones. So, there is no breaking of the gland accidentally.

I've written alot about bonding this week but let's see what else I can dig up.

The act of Puncturing [of the glands] is private; but you should see a doctor within 48 after the act has been completed so they can dress it for you properly - as it is a wound, and to update your charts as being bonded does have a physical affect on the body. You and your partner would go in together and the doctor would walk you through some "bonding basics" and show you how to care for the marks as they heal.

The bond marks are actually pretty unassuming to look at - just six small dots really - four from the upper canine teeth, and two from the lower. In some cultures, it's popular to add additional ornamentation such as tattoos or piercings around the area to make them stand out - or conversely to hide them.

It isn't appropriate to look for someone else's bond marks, if your friend or community member has been bonded they will be the ones to let you know if they feel comfortable. It is an act of intimacy - and therefore is quite private.

While Puncturing doesn't make you sick per say, the first week or two will be an adjustment period. You can't hear your partners thoughts or something, but there is a new level of closeness and understanding that occurs that is beyond words and explanation. It's important you stay together during this time and take it slow.

After you've bonded, you and your partner's fertility cycles will align even if you don't have heats/ruts. For example if you are a beta female and your partner is an alpha male - his ruts will always occur during your ovulation. This is also a bit dangerous as accidental pregnancy is more likely during this time - your doctor will have briefed you about this.

In the same vein, bonded partners are more likely to conceive in general. But like I mentioned above, the matching of your cycles also means there are periods of relative "infertility" in which come as a respite to some couples as well.

No two bonds are the same - the uniqueness is part of the commitment and part of the fun. Louis and his mate might each have two different colored eyes - one for each of them. Penelope and her mate might walk together in their dreams.

Your mate can re-puncture your scars - and it is traditional to do so on big anniversaries. You wouldn't then have two sets, instead your older scars would fade away.

In modern and contemporary eras, puncturing/bond marking isn't for everyone. But there have always been cultures who have been against it for one reason or another.

Imagine that Lance bites himself.

Like, whenever he's tired, stressed, anxious or just out of it, he bites himself, his fingers or his hands, just to have something that will numb whatever is going on inside his head. But, this are not gentle bites, he bites hard, way to hard, to the point that he has marks for days.

At first it started when he was at Garrison, the only way to keep himself awake during lessons, he tried with pens and pencils, but he kept breaking them, so he started biting his finger. Then, whenever he was worried or stressed he would do it to distract himself and also to not let his mouth run wild, some kind of filter between his brain and mouth.

After that it sort of became a habit, he didn't realize he was doing it, but the bruises in his hands were proofs enough that he still had that habit.

Sooo, when Keith realized that Lance did that, he started doing things to keep him from biting and hurting himself even more. At first it was small things, like handing him something without Lance realizing, asking him questions so he had no other option but to take his hand off his mouth, etc.

Then he would throw stuff at his face, soft stuff mainly, making him laugh and hold whatever Keith had thrown at his face, most of the time. Other times he would throw it back with what was trying to be an annoyed face that turned into a smile when he thought Keith wasn't looking at him anymore.

But as they got even closer, Lance would barely do it anymore, because he knew that Keith would stop him, and strangely, those little efforts helped him keep his hands occupied with something else, rather that stuck between his teeth. He would still bite himself sometimes though, but Keith would just grab Lance's hand and hold it between his.

The first time he did that was a shock, for both of them, Keith didn't even realize he did it, and Lance just froze there, not even paying attention to whatever the meeting was about.

Yeah just Lance experiencing anxiety and Keith slowly helping him get rid of some harmful habits.

Eldritch Clone Troopers but Not All of Them

Like the Kaminoans didn't start whatever weird thing they did that resulted in Eldritch troopers (what were they trying to do? I don't know. The troopers don't know. That Kaminoans know and this was NOT it) until after they've got a few batches underway and it never really affects the oldest troopers.

So you've got the CT's who are all eldritch horrors masking as Jango Fett, the CC's may be normal or may also be eldritch, and the Alpha class troopers who are normal. (I have not read the comics, this is my understanding of the trooper age order from fics and those sound like the canon timeline may be odd so. Basically the older troopers are not eldritch and the many many younger ones are.)

This does absolutely nothing to change the fact that the Alpha class troopers and possibly the CC's have all decided that these scary feral CTs are their baby brothers. Absolutely nothing. It also does nothing to change the fact that all the eldritch troopers see them as their gruff older brothers who make them do extra laps when they mouth off to them and sneak them candy when they mouth off to the trainers, who make sure they're meeting all the requirements and teach them their own tricks for hiding inefficiencies, who'll scold them ten ways from sunday for messy armor but also help them through panic attacks.

Picture if you will Alpha-Seventeen lecturing Rex for something insane that somehow worked and then sending him off to do 10 laps around the hanger or something and Obi-Wan's staring because he just saw this short scowly guy who looks like Jango Fett lecture this 6-ft blond with three rows of teeth and a shadow as blue as his armor and then Seventeen turns to him and is like "What? He's a little shit."

I find this very funny.

He really doesn't care what you are, he wouldn't judge you by your looks or appearance. But he must admit that you look very soft and comfortable to cuddle and lie down on.

If you're taller than him, he would be resting his head on your chest while you wrap your tails around his body as a blanket♥️

If you're shorter than him, it's the same thing except you're resting your head on his chest while he wraps his arms around you and you wrap him with your tails.

Cuddling is definitely 10/10.

You'd use kissing as a way to tease him no matter if you're taller or shorter. You find him cute when he pouts.

i think @rosegardeninwinter said it best when she said that katniss gives the nips and the nibbles (and yes, peeta does love it - even if he is a lil confused at first).

like i said before, its something i can see her doing when she’s overwhelmed and doesn’t know how to handle all the love that she’s feeling and so she just has a little bite. she’ll go for whatever she can reach, but her most common spots are probably his shoulders and biceps (why, dear anon? because they’re the meatiest). but she’s also partial to nipping his ear or his fingers, not because she’s overwhelmed with love - those kind are just because she’s a menace.

like. he’s trying a new recipe and offers for her to try, scooping some up on his finger to let her taste. what is she supposed to do? not bite his finger? come on now lets get real. you’d think he would learn his lesson but he absolutely does NOT.

and of course he picks up on her bad behavior too. and he catches on quickly, too. once he gets over the initial shock that she just bit him, he is absolutely going to get his own back. they make a feral pair. (but he’s always much gentler than her).

How long does a single bite marks last ?? like when an alpha marks their omega.

I'm pretty sure a single mark don't last long for the rest of an omega's life, it will eventually scar then fade. Is that's why alphas bite an omega's nape every time they have sex.

Also how do divorce even works in a/b/o, or when a couple deiced not to stay together because reason. And the omega has been marked.

There is no widely accepted answer, it just depends. Here are some popular options.

Bite marks last forever.

Bite marks last until one partner dies.

Bite marks last as long as the emotional part of the bond is maintained - if the bond weakens, the bite mark fades

Bite marks last a specific amount of time (ex. 5 years, 10 years, etc..)

Bite marks heal/scar over just like any other puncture mark.

In my au, I use the first one, but my lore surrounding bonding is immense. It's both a biological and symbolic process that changes both partners. It is also not taken lightly - you will never feel the "urge" to bite someone akin to feeling lust/sexually charged feelings towards someone.

I have a few questions but i cannot seem to find anywhere to get the answers i am seeking. So here they are hopefully you can help. First does a mating mark have to be on the neck or can it be on the wrist? Second, do the mating marks have to look like a bite or can we be creative and use something significant to the Alpha and Omega? Third can a bonding happen outside of the heat cycle, like something actively chosen.

I think a mating mark on the wrist is interesting! I don't see why you can't have it there. I can imagine that a bond bite on the wrist could be considered "possessive" or "intimate". It's something you can see straight away.

They can look like whatever you want them to look like. Lol. A bite mark is just the standard, but it's not a must.

It depends on what you are trying to do. So sure, a bond can be made outside of estrus. I also think that doing that would cause a shared heat/rut to happen.

Personal headcanon.

After a while, Pokémon trainers get scars from Pokémon attacks. Maybe an unruly Pokémon attacked them. Could’ve been a misfired attack in a battle. Perhaps a Pokémon with a high special attack had a sneezing fit. Who knows? They just tend to get pretty beat up after a while, and it sort of becomes a right of passage.
