oh ive got some art sitting around from a while ago i can post. friends and i are back in battlecat oc hell with our own little headworld clans, i can share my guys from it

so here’s Bitternpaw, apprentice of RustClan

Bittern here would be the angsty teen who’s part of the protag party and maybe gets some POV in the arc. Generally apprentices become warriors at around 14-16 moons of age, but at 17 1/2 moons old Bitten hasn’t gotten approval for eir final assessment. For this slight she blames:

1: The leader she grew up under, Lionstar, who only took interest in his son and neglected any duties that didn’t serve his own ego.

2: The current leader, that spoilt son Brindlestar, who despite being two moons younger that Bittern became leader through nepotism and his father’s death. Bittern has such a one sided rivalry with him. He barely notices her and she’s so fucking pissed. Seething.

3: Her parent in the clan, who decided coupling with a contentious warrior from an enemy clan was a good idea, as was only revealing their disloyalty in the midst of Bittern’s apprenticeship. Ey thinks perhaps Lionstar purposefully ‘forgot’ to give em a warrior ceremony, to shun and ostracize em much like eir peers did. Clan tension is quite high at this point of time, skirmishes and worse have been common for years.

Though Bitternpaw had never given a reason to doubt her loyalty (beyond flimsy blood relation), she’s growing quite disillusioned with RustClan. When a prophecy incites some apprentices from the three clans to venture out beyond their territories, Bittern chooses to go with them despite not receiving any call from StarClan. Ey’s older than the other paws and so finds herself taking responsibility like she’s an older sister to them.

Gooseheart finds a rouge named Onyx, who changes their name to Onyxpaw (adventurous, 9 moons old, mossball hunter.)

Petuniafox was seen calmly talking to a Galeclan cat

Darttail gives Bitternpaw a friendly nudge as they receive their name Bitterncrest

Riftpaw isnt acting like themself… they feel like a failure…

Clangen time!

I'm playing the latest developmental branch, since it's been a while and I need to refamiliarize myself with the game. I have the contributor role on the discord but I never fully finished coding the last feature, so I need to get up to speed on the new stuff and then recode it!

I am doing a "genetically accurate" challenge, (which I am far from the first to do), where I make sure my founders are genetically plausible, list out their colors and known genes, and edit any kits to make them accurate. I'm gonna keep the posts here pretty intermittent, but I'm also gonna be making a thread in the clangen server for more active liveblogging.

PineClan, Moon 0

All the happenings in PineClan seem to be revolving around the deputy, Rushmark, this moon, 

He first watched on with pride as the favourite of his two apprentices, Bitternpaw, became a warrior and received the name Bitternripple. The tom is honoured for their kindness and Rushmark believes themself to be lucky to have been able to train such an amazing cat.

He then received some troubles from Silentpaw, his least favourite apprentice, as she refused to follow Rushmark’s order, saying that they went against her morals. Rushmark finds her irritating and prefers to spend his time training Burrowpaw, the daring and charismatic tabby that recently became apprenticed to him.

On top of all of his apprentice drama he was also recently caught enjoying a moonlit stroll with Fadedstar, causing whispers to circulate among the apprentices.

Bitternpaw (Apprentice, RiverClan)

A gold and white molly with a dark mask and green eyes. Has a snare wrapped around her throat.

Bitternpaw is a new apprentice of RiverClan. She’s already known as a troublemaker: at the age of 4 moons she escaped camp and ran straight into a snare. She escaped, but the snare remained stuck around her neck permanently, a lesson causing her to focus more on her surroundings. Despite her rocky start, her pride hasn’t stuttered and she is determined to become the strongest apprentice in RiverClan.

Bitternpaw is the kind of molly who thinks she’s ready for anything. She used to rush into everything, but after her accident with the snare, she is forced to take a slower approach. Bitternpaw is a focused cat, and with that focus no longer going towards figuring out the fastest approach to kicking some tail, she scopes out the surrounding area, becoming more aware than her fellow apprentices. This would play well into the Forest Walker (Shore Walker?) class, depending on how the class is developed, or perhaps the Abysinn Scholar class.

The snare effects Bitternpaw’s breathing slightly, which could be roleplayed as if she was an asthmatic character. It becomes inflamed or aggrivated in intense situations (battle, chasing down prey) though she has no trouble swimming. As she grows older I imagine the snare would slacken off slightly (she’d choke otherwise) and she can slip nettle leaves in under the wire. According to the wiki they help with inflamation, so perhaps she’d sink a point into healing techniques if that was possible. Plus it looks super cute.

While out searching for herbs to treat Honeykit's greencough, Bitternpaw meets a VioletClan apprentice at the border.

Following Splinterburn's advice, the young survivors of PrimroseClan manage to find a safe place to start to rebuild. Not all is well, however, as their future leader quickly falls ill...

Despite their attempts to comfort Honeykit, Aspenkit and Bitternpaw are worried. They have no healer, save for a young kitten with no training, and greencough can go bad fast. However, Aspenkit has faith that everything will turn out okay.

At last, Splinterburn manages to convince Bitternpaw to take the heirs and run. Splinterburn turns back to the embers of what was once her home, ready to do what she must to earn forgiveness for what she has done.

Splinterburn begins explaining the true depth of the tragedy to young Bitternpaw. Both being wholly unaware that they've been followed...
