Night at the Museum: Redesigning Characters (Bonus)

Character profile: Napoléon "Le Petit Caporal" Bonaparte

This character is based off of and takes inspiration from the historical Napoleon Bonaparte.

Real Name: Napoléon Bonaparte

Nickname and Meaning: Le Petit Caporal - A term of affection from his soldiers

Age: 40-41 (Late 1809, early 1810)

Time Period: Napoléonic era frace

Family: Josephine de Beauharnais (ex-wife), Marie Louise (wife)+ seven siblings none of which were brought back besides Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte- his nephew

Pompous

Very overly confident.

Egotistical. He hasn’t seen his own downfall yet and feels he can win more.

On December 2, 1805, in his greatest victory, he defeated the combined Austrian and Russian armies in the Battle of Austerlitz.

My own silly headcanons:

Has put on weight, he’s not used to fighting with it.

Napoléon likes to steal pop-it’s and water wigglers from the gift shop. He always has to have something in his hands to fidget with- normally it’s his gloves or a snuff box or taking apart and cleaning his pistol. Now that he has access to modern fidgets, he likes to taking the green ones.

He also really likes clicking mechanical pencils

He loves inventions that make life better in little ways. Canning food was invented in his life (he’s actually the one who offered a prize of 12,000 francs to improve the food preservation methods that existed at the time which led to canned food being invented) but there was no simple way to open the cans. He loves can openers- taking them with the promise of returning them to just take apart and put back together.

If your gossiping, he obviously eavesdrops. Napoléon cans and will butt into your conversation about someone and listen like you’re saying the most interesting thing in the world. If he can’t come over to you, he will do the lead paint stare at you.

Still acts like he’s emperor.

Originally thought the average height of humans gained a lot of height. He was envious up until he learned whoever created his mold got his height wrong and he’s 5’2”, not 5’7”, then, Napoléon was just pisssed off.

He loves to infodump about his victories and will call over his men to help act them out, sneaking small fibs in to make himself look even better than he already does. If you ask him about his losses, you’ll only get a stare in return and a quick “Non”. (Credit @frombottlealleytotheharbor)

“Hey, do you remember [insert battle he lost]? What was it like?” “…Non.” “But… weren’t you there?” He starts walking away. “Non.” “But—“ “NON!”

He gets into fights with Al because Al is someone who clearly doesn’t respect him. The Capone trio love to tease him - especially Frank and Al. Ralph watches with a grin, which is somehow even more infuriating to Napoléon.

Sometimes getting out of his box, he looks like a well-loved stuffed animal. It takes him a moment to get himself together.

Loves watching true crime and reality TV shows. Isn’t the biggest fan of Horror movies.

Somehow got his hands on a cigarette, absolutely died after one puff. Napoléon threw it onto the ground and stomped off coughing, vowing to never do it again.

He’s so very envious that Al and Ralph had even a bit of time with their sons while they were alive. François Charles was born after the time he was made, and it makes Napoléon feel so homesick and want his kid- one that he doesn’t even know. He absolutely adores Louis Napoleon, who he only met a few times.

Loves ABBA, originally he disliked, but he's grown to like it now that he knows the meaning

I gave him his Laurel wreath just because I thought they were cool and also to show that he's still very pompous and full of himself.

The Prince of Mind [symbols: crown, neuron]

The Prince class has its basis in Machiavelli's The Prince. An example would be Prince Hamlet from the Shakespeare play.

The Mind aspect’s main theme is intuition. You can find its official description here.

A Prince of Mind is among those who alter the individual’s impact. This is the “classpect group” they belong to. Members include: the Sylph, Maid, Bard, and Prince of Heart/Mind. These classes are all opposites or inverses of each other that alter the Heart/Mind dichotomy (the individual’s impact). A description of classpect groupings can be found here.

The Prince of Mind actively destroys the Mind aspect. Active classes tell themselves what to do and do so for their own benefit. They are more likely to stand up for themselves, but more likely to be cruel. Princes and Bards destroy their aspect and everything it symbolizes, while using that same aspect as a weapon. In doing so, they leave their opposite aspect in their wake. Due to their actions, they come across as their opposite aspect. Simplified, the Prince of Mind is motivated by themselves to destroy intuition. In personality, they come across as the Heart aspect, seemingly defined by instinct.

On the subject of personality, the Prince of Mind wants to have control over things and enjoys challenges. Personality descriptions can be found here.

Their archetype is the Promised Genius, defined by control and intuition. Archetypes are explained here.

Their opposite is the Bard of Heart, who passively destroys instinct.

Their inverse is the Sylph of Heart, who passively assists instinct.

A classpect or “god tier” is an individual’s best self. All classpects go through a journey from unrealized, to struggle, to realized. When a character is unrealized, they neutrally exist as their inverse. On their struggle, they will wildly flip back and forth between their inverse and true classpect. In their worst moments they will act as their inverse, in their best their true classpect. When realized, they will stabilize as their true classpect. They will still have room to grow, but will become happier, more successful people.

This means that the Prince of Mind begins life motivated by others to assist instinct. When their struggle arrives and they are at their worst, they will continue this behavior in negative extremes. However, when at their best, they will find purpose in instead destroying intuition for themselves. When realized, they will stabilize and continue to destroy the Mind aspect actively, in a positive way.

They share their archetype with the Mage of Blood, the Genius Promised.

The Prince of Mind would quest on a planet similar to the Land of Heart [Opposite Aspect] and Mind [Aspect]. An example would be the Land of Clones and Chess. An explanation of planet naming conventions can be found here.

Two possible gods, or denizens, to reign over their planet would be Athena (Goddess of Justice) or the Sphinx (the legendary creature who posed riddles to travelers). Other Mind aspect denizens can be found here.

When the Prince of Mind completes their planet quests and dies on their quest bed, they would rise to ascension on the wings of dragonflies (symbols of mental maturity). A list of soul animals can be found here.

Speed-paint!

I got a new book about Capone and I’ve been reading it nonstop so I haven’t had time to draw, so here’s the speed-paints for the three Refs I have up so far!

I started with Napoleon, using @/rivaldii’s drawing of Lannes as a reference. It was my third attempt at drawing Napoleon and I’m very pleased with how he came out. I also used First-hand descriptions of Napoleon.

I used Richard William’s Animator’s Survival Kit’s walk cycle Key’s and Inbetweens as a ref for Étienne and Gustave (once again, they belong to @/lidensword and @/all-yn-oween).

The little doodle in the corner isn’t really a reference to anything, I wanted to show how Napoleon could feel really big emotions and incorporate some of his guys.

I added a telescope because Kah steals Napoleon’s in a deleted scene and (I think) the movie too.

Holding and protecting your drink at a party meme

I hope most of you understand this meme! (If you don’t, it’s from tik tok).

Also, this is only my opinion! THIS IS NOT CANON!

Ahkmenrah:

He will protect it if he has to, but you have to expain why he has to do it first. The young pharaoh will understand it immediately, of course.

Ahk will be dancing all night, so no one will be able to put anything in your drink. They just can’t catch his hands. Might spill it a little bit. 

He won’t believe anyone who says they came with you and if they insist, he’ll call Larry or just get everyone’s attention to them, so no one would be able to drug your drink. 

Kahmunrah: 

7/10

Kah does not believe he has to keep an eye on your drink at first, but when someone tries to put something in it, he literally stabs them. 

After that, he keeps your glass in his hands and if anyone tries to convince him they were with you, he would tell them how he would rip their heart out of their chest. That scares everyone away.

He’s a little bit too protective. In a way it won’t hurt his pride.

Will drink it afterwards. Right in front of you.

Amelia Earhart: 

10/10

She knows the drill. 

Amelia protects your drink with her life. 

If anyone tries to tell her you are their friends, she drop kicks them. Then goes away and waits for you elsewhere. 

No one will do anything to your drink, but she might take a sip. 

Napoleon Bonaparte: 

9/10

He guards it or orders his soldiers to guard it. 

If he sees anyone trying to do something, he’ll instantly yell at them and get the attention of the whole fricking party. 

The only reason why I took a point is because he’ll accidently spill it, so he has to buy another one. 

Al Capone: 

11/10

Come on... 

He knows what’s up...

Al orders his boys to look out for your drink and if anyone tries to do something, they will kindly take the person elsewhere. 

You won’t know anything about it and he just tells you there weren’t any problems. 

Nicky Daley:

8/10

Most likely he is the dj and no one will try to do anything to your drink. 

If someone tries to, however, Nicky will use the microphone to tell them to get away from your drink. 

He just embarrasses them in front of everyone. 

Probably will drink it afterwards. 

Ivan The Awesome: 

20/10

No one dares to go near him. Everyone is scared. He is so intimidating.

His soldiers are looking out for your drink too, not just him. 

Ivan is such a gentleman... He won’t let anything happen to your drink.
