Java sat for a short time, slightly worse for wear and a little dazed. The sand, while fun to play in, made for a rather rough landing. They sat, holding their hands together in their lap. They let out a sigh.

I was ALWAYS TOLD that NECROZMA would shower all the good ULTRA BEASTS with GIFTS during the month the EARTHLINGS REFER TO AS… DECEMBER.

So I NEED YOUR HELP DECORATING. BECAUSE WE WANT GIFTS.

Introducing the 2024 Pokeask Holiday Decoration Project!

The goal is… to have a giant festive holiday scene decorated with all of the characters across the Pokeask community!

All you need to do is slap your character(s) onto some kind of holiday ornament/trinket/item/etc. (all holidays welcome) and I will compile them into a giant piece\scene at the end :) So its kinda like a drawpile but not really? IDK

All I need is a TRANSPARENT version of the item(s) you make sent to me as a submission, reblog, tagged post, through Discord (owlisaurus), whatever. They can be as elaborate or as simple as you want!

No limit on how many submissions you make, just remember we need room for everyone!

Deadline is December 20th so I can arrange everything!

You can always ask questions if you have them! Hopefully that explained everything enough haha

River gives the Shinx a huge smile, gesturing to the sandy beaches around him. “Nah, we don’t live on the beach or anything, we’re just here to think and talk!” He lowers his voice slightly, almost conspiratorially.

“Between you and me, I think that Molly was playing in the sand earlier. Don’t tell her I said that, she likes to pretend to be tough. She’s not a huge fan of the water, so getting her to the beach in the first place is a big deal.”

we live by a big ocean, with lots of huge icebergs and gigantic pokemon making big splashes! my sibling tells me there's a lot of underwater caves with really pretty ice formations too, but i'm not used to swimming in freezing water like they are so i haven't seen them myself. our forests are mostly pine trees, which aren't great for climbing but they don't block out the sky which is prettiest at night, especially when there's an aurora!

ah, um, but, i hope you can go back home and see your family sometime. your home sounds just as nice as mine! if you want, i can stay until your friend comes back, if you'd like someone to talk to. i don't mind sitting in the rain at all!

Happy (Almost?) New Years, my blog friends!

I'm sure it's the new year already for some of you depending on where you are in the world HEH

Wanted to say thank you for a fantastic year. It's been a weird one here, lots of stuff going on and ups and downs as usual, but posting here and checking out everyone's characters and stories has always been a highlight every day. I'm always excited to refresh my dash after a long day and see what new stuff is unfolding! Or shenanigans.

I'm hoping to be a little more frequent with posting and interacting as the new year goes on. It's been nice getting back into the swing of things and I do have a bit planned coming up! Soon even! Probably.

Either way, thank you! Take care as always, and I hope the new year is kind to you all

Oh no I'm not lost! In fact I'm right where I need to be, surprisingly.

Java looked towards Boreal, asking her a question with a hushed voice only she could hear

>JAVA: Boreal… do… you get visitors like this all the time…? Like asking questions and saying hi and things?

>BOREAL: Oh! Yeah pretty often. It’s fun!! I figure the beach is a popular spot to rest and relax so a bunch of people always stop by! Feels like there's always someone new and I've met so many others here it's great!!

>JAVA: Ah! Okay, that does make sense when you put it that way

>BOREAL: Hello?????

Boreal shouted across the sand towards where the loud thud came from, seemingly coming from the trees behind her. She couldn’t tell what caused the sound, so she hurried over more out of curiosity than worry. As she approached, she could tell there was a fresh break in a tree branch. Something had caused it to snap and fall. When she arrived, she quickly found the source of the noise.

>BOREAL: Woah!!! Are you okay??? Did you fall out of there??? That’s scary for you, you’re not a flying type you’re pretty much the opposite!!

The Riolu bounced upright once they heard a voice, dodging Boreal entirely and keeping their distance.

>BOREAL: Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you!! I guess you’re okay if you got up that quick! Ummm…

>JAVA: ... Who might you be...?

>BOREAL: My name’s Boreal!! Java was it?? Like the coffee????? That’s so FUN I was never allowed to have coffee it always seemed so mysterious.. Do you wanna join me by the shore? It’s a bit nicer over there and we can see how you’re feeling!!!

Java stared for a moment at Boreal, more confused at the situation than anything else. It took a second for a reply to form.

>JAVA: Yeah.. The shore sounds nice, I’ll follow you there?”

Boreal smiled and nodded, then turned around to walk back towards the beach.

>JAVA: Boreal...

It's been a while since I've seen anyone else here but Yeah!! I am!! I like making them, they can be what ever shape or size or what ever so every one is different!! Today I wanted it to be kinda simple because I woke up late... But I'm glad you like it!!

Hi... sorry I wasn’t really expecting someone with all the rain. But ummmm yeah…! It’s where my family is from. And where I grew up! It was umm... a northern point of a ..region. I love it a bunch!! This place is super nice too but I do miss the snow. my family.. And all the trees! well it was mostly snow but the forest was big too. Honestly feels kinda like here, open with a nearby forest... except like twenty million degrees colder! Is where you're from like that too???

[ She paused to think for a second ]

Oh sorry you asked me hmm. I wouldn’t say I uhh live…? Here. Or moved here! In the sense that I live here now forever… More just staying for a little. I’m waiting for a friend to visit before we head out again together! He and I travel a lot together, which is super fun!!! They should be back soon though!!

Boreal had been sitting for a few hours staring off as the waves lapped quietly at the shore in front of her. Little swirls in the dirt arced before her in the sand where she had taken a paw to seemingly try to figure out … something.

She sighed.

Nothing seemed to come out right. More, nothing seemed to come to mind.

“A star sending … festival?” she murmured to herself quietly. It’s not something she had heard of before, but she had over heard some others talk about it. She didn’t have anyone around to ask about it though, so she tried pulling from her memory.

Her mind kept wandering off.

how do people send stars that sounds so silly could you imagine

wait is that possible can people do that??

She drew a star shape in the sand, thought about how she could do that herself, then wiped it away with both paws.

“No of course it’s not thaaattttt, it’s a wishlist! … of things I want? But I have my hat! What else could I want uuugghhhHH”

She fell over on her back exasperated, slightly frustrated, with arms spread wide. She couldn’t think of any physical objects she could want.

Sighing, she opened her eyes, and watched as more stars began fading into existence as the night grew darker. It was always so dark there at night away from it all, and always so quiet. A slight breeze washed over her, ruffling her fur. The only sounds came from the leaves rustling in the trees behind her and the ocean waves gently hitting the shoreline.

“I wish someone else could enjoy this too.”

Her eyes widened.

“Wait YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT’S A THING WAIT I never have others here for long a SLEEPOVER”

She hopped up and bounced around excitedly, then started doodling a list in the sand.

A storyyy!!!!! If you have one! Or two! if not we can play and watch the stars there are so many!!! Or <this list item continued on with random things Boreal came up with from sand sculptures to swimming, but most focused on spending time together from sunset to sunrise>

She stood above her ideas, reading over everything carefully. It sounded perfect in her head and looked even better written out.

“Oh… wait how do I send sand. Maybe I can use a leaf and ummm… leave it to get picked up…?”

“… leaf it…”

A little snort came from her nose.

She ran to get a leaf to transfer the list to.

...

After several minutes scouring the tree line for the perfect leaf, not too crumbly but big enough to hold all her ideas, she copied over her list.

With that completed, she was content. But, she had a concerning thought.

“How … how ummm .. do I get this to someone again…?”

She looked around, her expression slowly changing from glee to worry. She couldn’t remember how it worked at all.

“OH I can!!!!! Leave it umm here!! With a flag from one of my castles!! Someone’s gottttaaaaa find that!”

After some careful placing, she pushed her flag into the sand near her wishlist all just far enough away from the sea where the high tide wouldn’t wash her wishes away.

It was a calm night. The breeze came to a halt, almost as if it paused waiting for her wish to be seen before beginning again.

The ocean continued to lap gently on the shore.

The stars shone brightly above, filling the sky with millions of lights.

Boreal’s wish was out in the world, for someone.

She giggled to herself, what a weird idea.

> “Rich… what a silly name could you imagine??????”

She mumbled to her self, seemingly forgetting the rest of what was asked

Thoughts of a beach resort filled her mind… ideas for a future build, for sure.

She snapped out of it and remembered the question.

> "wait..."

>BOREAL: THAT’S IT YOU’RE RIGHT!!!!!! How did you know??? Have you been to forests like that before????? You look too warm for a place like that I don’t know if you’d like it it’s very cold but I LOVE IT

She went on about her forest home for a little while, very excitedly talking about it.

That’s where I’m from!!! I used to live there, it’s where my family and I are from. We used to live in a reallllyy cold place!! Wintery forest, but we moved around a lot up there. Always cold! I loved the snow it was so much fun to play around in but the sand here is close to it!!! Just ummm less wet. Well there’s the ocean, that’s wet, and the sand gets wet! but sand doesn’t fall from the sky so you don’t have to worry about that. Unless you throw it but mmm

could you imagine sand blizzards that’d hurt at least snow is soft!!!

You’re really smart!!!! Where did you learn about that??
