My 10 Years Fanfiction Anniversary 😳❣️

It has come to my attention that the 31st of August has marked the 10th year since I posted my first fic online in 2013.

I’ve started out writing detective conan fanfiction in my notebook when I was 8. Then started posting One Direction and 5SOS fics online as a teenager before I fell into the Naruto hole that has led to the theme of this account.

Out of all my fandom experiences, the Naruto fandom has unequivocally shaped me as a writer. The support I found here was unparalleled. Kind people from all over the internet pushed me to keep writing, to keep navigating a new language, to get over my hesitation over posting.

I’m forever grateful to every single one of you who has ever given me advice and tips. To all the people that suffered through beta-ing my fics with my horrible grammar and punctuation errors until I learned how to write. (Shoutout to @the-real-kakashisgf1, @denilmo, @nikkigrand and Endo)

I wish there was a way I can tag all of these people. And all the wonderful people who read and supported my fics, and checked out every update, and left heartwarming reviews.

I’m so incredibly moved.

I have since the start of my fanfiction journey posted 920k words on fanfiction sites online, written 114 fics, posted 116 twitter threads and wrote 100+ Tumblr fics (probably way way more than 300ish).

I’ve written fics for many fandoms, like: Detective Conan, 1D, 5SOS, MCU, Naruto, Yuri on Ice, Grey’s Anatomy, Jujutsu Kaisen, Haikyuu and Chainsaw man.

I’ve accepted commissions, did giveaway, gift exchanges and collaborations. I joined writing sprints, played writing games, joined in on brainstorming sessions. I feel so grateful in my bones for all of it.

Currently working on an uncovered (hidden by Google Docs lol) chapter of infinite universes; from the the sun and the moons universe. ItaSaku-focused.

Mamoru personally doesn’t celebrate his birthday. This fact does not stop his mother, his fathers, and his siblings from throwing him a party every year. To meet him halfway, they keep it small, just their immediate family members and a few of Mamoru’s closest friends. His mother makes sure to ask the ladies of the house to cook his favorite meals (even after all these years, Shisui-tousan has never let her live down the karaage incident) but makes sure to take care of dessert. Sometimes, his youngest father joins her but most of the time he just takes care of the ingredients and leaves her to her devices.  Though this tradition is not limited to his birthdays, Mamoru finds that the dango his mother makes for his day to be special. Not in the ingredients she uses or its presentation, but in the amount of time and almost fondness with which she painstakingly mixes the rice flour with water, rolls it to bits, and daintily colors it with finely chopped flowers of her namesake and matcha powder.  She starts early in the morning on the day of his birthday. Always up before sunrise ready to take on the close to a hundred dango she has to make. As a child, Mamoru remembers sneaking into the kitchen, his feet light and avoiding every creaking wood in the house just to steal one of his mother’s dangos. Of course, kaa-chan always saw him coming (still does to this day) and would welcome him with a fond smile before handing him the first dango of his birthday, and saying; “You are just like your father.” With his cheeks stuffed with sticky rice, he smiles and then asks about the father he never met.

The gods, that is. All of the ones that have signed her contracts and answer to her beck and call. The thing about gods is that they exist in belief alone, so as long as people know and believe and speak about them, they have power. She still sends Rick Riordan flowers every year in a quiet thank you for all the work he’s done for her. Children’s books; genius. 

Because when the gods have power, she owns every drop of it. 

Of course, none of the gods knew that when they signed her contracts because all of them are stupid and never read the fine print. Here’s a hint kids, always read the fine print. And never sign anything without taking notes first. For all you know, you may be selling your soul. Which, many have. Or arguably, everyone has, but that’s a debate for another day. 

Sakura keeps all her gods in her back pockets. Afterall, they wouldn’t fit in her front ones; they make them too small.

Okay someone’s about to get bitch slapped ... wow how can people be this rude?

The thing is that at first they didn’t know who was the artist and that they didn’t allow repost. But even after knowing it, they still refused to delete it and they didn’t even bother to add the credits this time......

Oh and their last reply is pathetic really, they just don’t want to understand....

Anyway, I contacted 3 artists already, one already filled a report x) so if the art gets deleted, it’ll be a proof that they’re doing wrong. But I don’t know why I think they’ll keep playing dumb x’D

-May: Has there ever been a fic that you regretted posting?

Honestly, not really. There were some that got terrible reviews (I’m looking at you Relapse and Flawed by Design). I usually get decent reviews, but these two were not well reviewed except by the people that mattered. So I guess there’s that lol 

September: Share a comment or review which still warms your heart?

Okay, so I did a little sleuthing to find one and I’m not at all surprised that it was a comment by @birkastan2018 on my story “I’ll be the Moon”. I love it because they really seemed to get what I was going for in this story and enjoy it. The whole idea that love isn’t as black and white as we pretend it is most of the time. I’m all about finding the shades of grey. 

Dear author, first of all - my review for this is shamefully overdue; I hope you can forgive me. 😓 Second, the story... This is heartbreaking, but I think what strikes me most about this fic is the brutally honest way Sakura is portrayed. I love Sakura - I am a HUGE Sakura fan. And I imagine her character here - her infidelity, her treatment of Kakashi, and the arguably inconsiderate tunnel vision with which she views a situation of her own making may not necessarily endear her to readers... but in my humble opinion, it's what makes this story so compelling. Because she is so incredibly authentic. I'm not defending her behavior, but I think a big part of the reason why her actions cut so deep to the quick is because these reactions to her circumstances are awkwardly familiar.

Don't we see this often enough IRL? Where someone who's been unjustly abandoned and neglected feels like they're owed whatever happiness they can grasp? When they're in so much pain and turmoil over their personal circumstances that it's not possible for them to see how they may be inflicting hurt through their choices or treatment of others? That's how I see Sakura in this story, and I think the fact that I'm still so torn between her happiness and Kakashi's well being is a testament to the brilliant way they're both written here. kgzkjdszblvjbj this was angsty AF but so worth each and every word!! Thank you so much for writing and sharing this moving piece with us!

oh goodness, where to start...

kakashi does most of the household chores. not because sakura is bad at them (he is better, though, honestly) or because she dislikes them, but because it soothes the lonely ache in his heart; doing them for her reminds him that he’s not alone anymore, that things like making dinner and doing laundry are no longer the mere survival skills of an orphan, but the privilege of a lover, husband, and friend

sakura’s favorite way to spend time at home is listening to kakashi read aloud; kakashi’s favorite is trying to find passages to read that make her face turn the same color as her hair (and then convincing her to recreate them with him)

any time sakura is upset/injured/in-any-way-not-quite-whole, kakashi puts a blanket in the dryer while he makes tea, then foists both upon her. even in the heat of summer, sakura doesn’t complain because she knows it’s how his dad comforted him

sakura hates her hands, always so rough and chapped from her work and training, and is constantly experimenting with different salves to address it; kakashi loves her hands, how expressive they get when she’s excited, the elegant lines of them as they obliterate wood and earth and stone, the friction they give when they’re wrapped around him

playful competitions abound in their household: arm wrestling, tickle/pillow fights, prank wars, spelling bees, what-have-you. it starts with sakura siding with gai just one time (over what, no one remembers anymore), but she gets the bug and kakashi humors her with the same enthusiasm as he does gai; kakashi likes the rewards he gets for winning against sakura significantly more
