watching this 37 Words thing of the previous uswnt players and Briana popped up. and it made me think about something. while she was fighting the same fight as her other teammates, the fight she was going through was even more brutal. and it’s very important to remember that, especially if you’re a nonblack soccer fan.
In terms of goalkeepers, she is the GOAT. Watching her in person and in every game on tv, she was inspiring, a badass, a force, and an elite athlete. She is a leader, a role model, and has done so much for the game of soccer, for women athletes, for queer athletes, and for athletes of color. She is a legend.
