Workers said Project Nimbus is the kind of lucrative contract that neglects ethical guardrails that outspoken members of Google’s workforce have demanded in recent years. “I am very worried that Google has no scruples if they’re going to work with the Israeli government,” said Joshua Marxen, a Google Cloud software engineer who helped to organize the protest. “Google has given us no reason to trust them.” The Tuesday protest represents continuing tension between Google’s workforce and its senior management over how the company’s technology is used. In recent years Google workers have objected to military contracts, challenging Google’s work with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and its role in a defense program building artificial intelligence tools used to refine drone strikes. Workers have alleged that the company has cracked down on information-sharing, siloed controversial projects and enforced a workplace culture that increasingly punishes them for speaking out.
Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the Tuesday protest and workers’ concerns over Project Nimbus. The Israeli Finance Ministry announced its contract with Google and Amazon in April 2021 as a project “intended to provide the government, the defense establishment and others with an all-encompassing cloud solution.” Google has largely refused to release details of the contract, the specific capabilities Israel will receive, or how they will be used. In July 2022, the Intercept reported that training documents for Israeli government personnel indicate Google is providing software that the company claims can recognize people, gauge emotional states from facial expressions and track objects in video footage. Google Cloud spokesperson Atle Erlingsson told Wired in September 2022 that the company proudly supports Israel’s government and said critics had misrepresented Project Nimbus. “Our work is not directed at highly sensitive or classified military workloads,” he told Wired. Erlingsson, however, acknowledged that the contract will provide Israel’s military access to Google technology. Former Google worker Ariel Koren, who has long been publicly critical of Project Nimbus, said “it adds insult to injury for Palestinian activists and Palestinians generally” that Google Cloud’s profitability milestone coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Nakba — which refers to the mass displacement and dispossession of Palestinians following creation of the state of Israel in 1948.
In March 2022, The Times reported allegations by Koren — at the time a product marketing manager at Google for Education — that Google had retaliated against her for criticizing the contract, issuing a directive that she move to São Paulo, Brazil, within 17 business days or lose her job. Google told The Times that it investigated the incident and found no evidence of retaliation. When Koren resigned from Google in August 2022 she published a memo explaining reasons for her departure, writing that “Google systematically silences Palestinian, Jewish, Arab and Muslim voices concerned about Google’s complicity in violations of Palestinian human rights.” Koren said Google’s apathy makes her and others believe more vigorous protest actions are justified. “This is a concrete disruption that is sending a clear message to Google: We won’t allow for business as usual, so long as you continue to profit off of a nefarious contract that expands Israeli apartheid.” Mohammad Khatami, a YouTube software engineer based in New York, participated in a small protest of Project Nimbus at a July Amazon Web Services conference in Manhattan. Khatami said major layoffs at Google announced in January pushed him to get more involved in the Alphabet Workers Union, which provides resources to Khatami and other union members in an anti-military working group — though the union has not taken a formal stance on Project Nimbus. “Greed and corporate interests were being put ahead of workers and I think the layoffs just illustrated that for me very clearly,” Khatami said.

However, the real reason for this ask is to present a possible answer/theory in regards to how the doll-sized phones came to be in the world of your stories (you can tell this is still related to our chat on Wattpad).
Recently, I came across the images you're seeing on Pinterest. They're Wide/Aerial Views of the Institute of Perfection and one thing that immediately stood out to me is that Giant Eye-Catching Dome behind the TV.
I mean what's its purpose, why is it even there to begin with and what's inside of it? I've been thinking about this for a while and would like to hear your thoughts about it as well, if you're willing to share them.

By any chance, have you seen the movie Wreck-it Ralph? There was a part where the villain enters the code of the game he's in and I think the Dome's purpose could follow a similar, if not equal, vein.
Now that I think about it, Lou and Vanellope's circunstances are almost identical, trapped in the same place for years without the option to leave, simply because of who they are and the traits they were born with, but didn't choose to have.
Sorry, I let my mind run on tangent there for a while, it wanders frequently which makes it hard to keep track of my line of thought.
To circle back to the main topic of discussion, what if the Dome is a Central Station of the Institute, like a Panel or Center for Command Control (or Command Control Center)? CCC for short? Ok, I'll stop trying to be funny...

Perhaps it could be a subroutine of the factory's software, a program linked to its network and wifi that contains all guidelines and rules that govern the Institute and must be followed and executed to keep it functional - a blueprint if you will - and is in charge of all commands, protocols, activities and operations being compiled and run by its machinery, such as the doll-scanner, the robots, the washing machine, the recycling, the Gauntlet plus the mechanical baby and dog and the Portal, just to name a few.
This means that it'd also take care of overseeing the integrity and performance of said machinery as well as its maintenance. It'd even be responsible for generating clouds and the artificial weather because apparently weather is still a thing, even though the Institute is inside of a factory.
I wonder if this subroutine would be run by an AI or simply an intelligent system/computer program. This world's version of Siri? 🤣
Or maybe I'm greatly exaggerating its function/letting my imagination run wild and it literally only gives Electricity for TV and Institute. Where was I going with this? /were we again?
Morever, it could be a storage unit that contains all collected, analysed and reviewed data regarding the inhabitants of the Institute and their responses, physical or emotional, to certain pre-determined stimuli.
It could also have a list of the factory's Perfection Standards: what consists/constitutes a Perfect Doll / product, its traits...
what can go to the market and which flaws/imperfections can't be ignored/overlooked and have to go to the recycling immediately, kinda like separating fruit/food
To sum up, it's the Institute's "rulebook", but instead of being specifically made for the prototype, it's more expansive and focuses on the Institute as a whole.

After the events of the movie, dolls with engineer role job created phones with recicled parts dangerous/turned the recycling into a good thing/while recycling was turned of and parts are human sized, plenty to spare and create phone since dolls come back now, have free time to assemble the parts and construct them and connected them to the signals/frequency emitted by the dome or they hack/steal or find out the password/'hijack' the signals🤣, use it to make them connect with each other but can't enter the dome without proper authorizations/permissions

Okay, I had to do quite a bit of research and asked someone who knows a lot more about computers than I do.
So, I do agree that the dome has an electronic purpose. It really surprises me that STX animated an entire dome within the Institute and literally spoke nothing of it or what's inside of it. Like, seriously, it's huge and can't just be empty on the inside.
My theory, after some research, is that the inside of the dome is essentially a hard drive computer tower. For you younger folk who weren't raised in a 90's home, here's what I'm talking about:

These things right here used to be what would get hooked up to older Dell/Windows computers. The ones that weighed, like, 50 pounds and took up an entire desk.
Instead of a dvd player (which I didn't get one until maybe 8 years old) I would stick my Kidz Bop cd or movie into that slot at the top and watch the movie on the computer with Video Player.
Count your blessings.
But this is what I believe is inside that dome. These things are what holds the CPU (central processing unit), GPU (graphic processing unit), and stores the memory, data, audio, and everything of the computer.
@natalie-the-writer and I have a running fanon that the company is older. The technology is older, the building is older, and everything is set in a pretty retro time period. So, this hard drive tower is connected to those bulky take-up-all-the-space-on-the-desk-computers.
The GPU in this system is also what control the day/night cycle in the Institute and the weather. It essentially simulates a troposphere and an environment that makes the dolls comfortable and prepared for the Big World.
The CPU is how the data is transferred. Info from the robots is controlled and processed, the Individualization scanners are monitored, the portal is opened and closed, the TV runs, and the holographic tutorials Moxy and her friends see in the beginning are kept on, all of it.
It basically functions as the brain of the Institute, but the sole controller and monitor of it is the CEO (Greyson Everett).
I also like to think that Lou's microchip (another fanon thought between Natalie and I) is also monitored via this hard drive tower. Any information that Lou learns and processes is sent into separate files on the computers back in the company building.
This is why in my Shell-Shock series, when Lou's emotions go south, the Institute begins to get windy when he's hyperventilating or rains when he cries. The ground trembles when he has body tremors and the lights flicker when his powers are used. He is literally connected to the whole Institute because his microchip and its data accidentally grow and manifest themselves into the files of the other Institute functions. His programming basically goes rogue and infects the Institute system like a virus.
I'm veering toward the explanation that results in Lou being the first successful form of Artificial Intelligence. But, for the moment, he is basically acting like a virus and it's not until he learns to control this new system he's connected to that it stops becoming a deadly thing.

I found the marketing seminar series to be extremely insightful. Connecting with intelligent and contemporary marketing experts in real time is unmatched - as these marketing leaders were able to break down current trends, share their most effective marketing campaigns and strategies, coach us on the platforms we should be utilizing, help us understand what marketing strategies we should be avoiding, guide us on how to develop an impressive branding strategy, and so much more. It allowed us to consider everyone’s perspective and learn lessons that we wouldn't have learned elsewhere. Of course it’s vital to learn theory and understand core marketing concepts and strategies - but having multiple leaders come in and share their live opinions on the progression of the marketing world is invaluable. The lessons I’ve learned throughout this course were vital, and I’ll take them with me throughout my future marketing career. Most of these marketing gurus are industry leaders, major business owners, and highly educated individuals. The speakers left me on the edge of my seat after each webinar, and directly engaged with their audience at the end of their presentation. Being able to ask these marketing leaders questions and speak to them directly afterwards was incredibly beneficial.
The speaker that had the largest impression on my learning curve with respect to digital marketing was definitely Jeremy Shell. I feel as though he contributed such valuable and insightful knowledge from an educational standpoint, and gave his audience legitimate strategies as to how we can become more productive digital marketers. As opposed to solely conveying his success story and discussing all that he had accomplished with his business thus far, he instead educated us on the steps we need to take to make our own success stories happen. 
Firstly, he helped us understand the value of maintaining organization and how imperative such a seemingly simple strategy is absolutely crucial to drive success as a marketer. He emphasized how organization can ultimately become your competitive advantage in the turbulent world of digital marketing, and set you apart from other digital marketers altogether. Marketing is a competitive industry, and this is the first and foremost crucial step. I found this to be true as I currently work at a digital marketing agency and manage a full client portfolio. Tasks pile up and you must stay on top of your work on a day to day basis, otherwise things can become chaotic. After attending this webinar with Jeremy Shell, I took what he suggested in stride and started executing some of the organization based strategies he suggested. Upon incorporating these organization strategies, I’ve noticed a significant difference in my overall efficiency and productivity as a digital marketing manager. Although seemingly simple, showing up everyday with an eager and productive attitude, a fully charged laptop, and a physical agenda is key to success and will ultimately transform your productivity. 
Another lesson I will take in stride from Jeremy Shell’s webinar is the ever changing landscape of digital marketing, and how important it is that we stay up to date with all these turbulent changes and continuously educate ourselves. Advancements and innovations are subtly happening all around us, and the knowledge we’ve currently acquired could completely change in five to ten years. We must consistently educate ourselves with any major technological changes, emerging types of software, CRM platforms, and adapt to more proficient ways of completing various tasks. Without doing so, we could fall behind and ultimately lose our touch with the digital marketing landscape altogether. Staying relevant and educated is imperative to ensure success as continuously emphasized by Jeremy Shell. Not only will we have more knowledge with respect to digital marketing - we’ll also be able to contribute more carefully curated skills, marketing qualifications, and knowledge on current trends to our marketing organizations. After learning this, I’ve taken steps to attain additional marketing qualifications so I’m skilled and knowledgeable in all disciplines related to digital marketing. This has also made me a more valuable candidate.
The third and final most valuable lesson I learned from Jeremy Shell during this webinar was the importance of connections. He placed significant emphasis on maintaining communication with old university colleagues, important professors, or anyone in the marketing field who’s had a profound impact on you for that matter. Keeping up a good rapport with these individuals could dramatically shift the trajectory of your future success - as they could possibly connect you with a marketing opportunity, land you an interview, or perhaps get you launched into a life changing career. I personally exercised this strategy in January of 2022 and landed a position at a prestigious digital marketing agency, of which I attribute to the value of having relevant marketing related connections. 
Building a network and establishing connections has been fairly straightforward as I’ve always upheld a strong presence on LinkedIn and put in the effort to maintain contact with people specific to the marketing industry. I’m connected to old university professors, prior colleagues, and many students within the B423 program at GBC. Maintaining these connections and staying in touch with these specific individuals has significantly alleviated my job search, and made it far simpler for me to have landed the job that I locked down about 6 months ago. LinkedIn is an excellent platform to stay in touch with people in a professional yet social setting. Additionally, branding myself and driving my social presence on this platform significantly helped me in my search. I landed the job I have now because I reached out to an old colleague who happened to be employed at the marketing agency I was interested in, and this company also happened to be hiring. I then reached out to him directly, and was put in contact with his manager who set me up with an interview the following day.
I previously joined this program with hopes to get connected with a professional marketing career at an agency in my area, but managed to lock down my first career related position prior to the co-op portion of the program as a result of my strong LinkedIn presence and the connections I established thus far. I fully attribute my success in locking down this position to correctly branding myself properly and professionally, staying closely connected with old colleagues, and looking out for new jobs pertaining to marketing on LinkedIn. Effectively branding yourself and staying in touch with old colleagues are the two most important strategies that I believe made a huge difference in the trajectory of my future and my success as a digital marketer.
