CNN 10 today had a story about ADHD and it was so annoying because i feel like they were taking a few bits of misinformation and blowing it way out of proportion. Also on Monday I had a teacher tell me that ADHD was a physical health issue and I said ‘I am perfectly alive and fine and not in any type of danger at all’

Her response? ‘Adhd keeps people from making good decisions’

#So I’ll say that there probably is misinformation #but no one on screen had adhd #At least not to my knowledge #Maybe talk to actual people with adhd?#But my teacher on Monday #she was weird #she’s usually so nice #but I promise you I can make good decisions #like not smoking #or drinking #or doing drugs #anyway #I need to stop tagging

#this one's for all the teachers out there #horror cw #hands cw #draws #after 2.5 years of caution and masking everywhere; i tested positive for covid on wednesday morning (first day of fall semester) 😔#at earliest; i can be back in the classroom on monday #wednesday itself was an absolutely horrible 24 hours (but admittedly the anatomist side of me has been going 'ah! physiological data!')#but thursday and friday were a grim indicator of how much capitalism has rotted my brain #because after getting through 24 hours of a MASSIVE illness with undetermined long-term effects; i felt compelled to return to the #6-hr-sleep 18-hr-waking cycle that i was accustomed to; out of GUILT for falling behind in work #(note: i was NOWHERE near 100% back on thursday. i could have charitably been put at 50% - still headaches & fatigue & productive coughs)#a friend had to very sternly tell me 'you cannot solve structural problems through constant 80-hour-week heroic measures'#'you especially cannot do this when you are recovering from a debilitating illness which has the potential to remain a -#- serious lingering problem if you overwork yourself'#like. gods. yeah. it's not my fault that my classrooms are stuffed to the student maximum that our union has valiantly maintained #it's not my fault that the district only gave us one pre-semester prep day; meaning that my room & plans were left unfinished before day one #and - even bigger; it's not my fault that public health in the US is careening into 'can we pretend hard enough like nothing's happening'#my students will have a milquetoast start this fall semester. that is fine.#their teacher might not be able to stand and talk for longer than ten minutes at a time #i will do what i can. i still care about them. i am reading their introduction emails and smiling a bunch.#but i refuse to allow myself to be consumed in order to keep this fire lit.

i kinda went crazy for the updates weeks before. Like srsly… what was i doing…. shitting out 3.8k words every sunday— thats insanity!!!!!! and by that i mean its bc i got burnt out since school started again LOL the consequences are real…..

but honestly i think its a good thing i paused the weekly updates for a bit!! i want to make the next chapter the best it can be, and this is more beneficial to u guys than me. imo the previous chaps were pretty lazy bc, again, every sunday?? insanity. Hope ure still interested in thawed when i pick up on it again…

The strategy with which I planned this day off fills me with joy.

#I don’t mean what I’m going to do today. I have no idea lol #but I mean at SCHOOL #I didn’t tell a single student #and I booked the retired English teacher as a sub because she used to teach these classes and knows the material #and she will have the energy and the presence to carry them through stuff I want them to know but am too tired to teach #lol #like I really pushed myself all week with my high schoolers especially #and now she gets to step in and tag team #it is NOT a do nothing day #also she’s old school strict and they love to complain about that but the joy I felt in my heart #every time they were annoying this week. to think of the ace up my sleeve #and then!!!!! I did it on a Friday!!! so guess WHAT. by Monday most of them will have forgotten #and I won’t have to hear about it #I love to scheme in this way lol #a true joy of being a teacher #I know this is ridiculous blathering but I love to see it

I really need people to understand that they didn’t not listen to Cassandra because she was a woman she was quite literally cursed. Like Apollo got all pissy over something (varies from version to version yknow mythology stuff) like the gods tend to do and cursed her so that she could tell the future but no one would believe her. It was not because she was a woman like I’m begging you if you’re talking about people not listening to women talk about anybody else-

boss on my nerves as hell rn, i call this man like "hey i got covid can't teach this week" and he's like "oh damn what symptoms" and i list off the classics yknow, cough, fever, running nose, can't taste or smell, lost my voice, etc and he says to me "ok get well. however you lost your voice because it's simply not used to speaking so much, you'll get used to it :)". and i just had to stare at a wall a bit after. this isn't even the first time he told me this when i was sick!!

my brother in paedagogia i may not be real good at it but i'm still screaming vocals in band practice every week. don't get me wrong, 6 hours of answering my own questions while 20 4-y/o's gaze upon me with their wondrous sunlit eyes can get silly, but i'm still pretty sure it's the covid.

#ok answering my own questions is a stretch. those kids love to chat!#however i am also on a schedule and have material to impart upon them. ill let them do storytime for as long as i'm able but i'll still #have to cut a few off! just the nature of the thing #last lesson on monday was terrible to be fair #kids were very loud and i had to talk very loudly to keep their attention #their homeroom teacher was a sweetheart though #cilly.txt #anyway. sick and withering away and such

so I guess I'm gonna have to start the class on Monday a little later so that I can get that Nokia Arena show ticket lol

#this better be worth it #don't get me wrong the ice hall show was nice #but it wasn't _as_ special as i thought it would have been #of course there were lots of special effect and ROBIN so yeah in that sense it was special #but the setlist wasn’t surprising at all and that's what i was slightly disappointed in 😅#hopefully there'll be more surprises in the setlist for this show but i'm not holding my breath #as apparently it'll be the last show on their 'bug european tour'#and they usually don't make major changes to the setlist mid-tour #the european tour which i'm going to btw. i don't know where they'll be playing but i'm going 😤#also i hate how literally everyone and their mother knew about the nokia arena thing already so no one is surprised 😅#in any case i missed the pmmp tickets because i was an idiot / at work #but this one i need to get alright the monday morning class will have to wait 😤#sorry but the teacher has things to do and concert tickets to secure lol #who's going to the golden circle / VIP with me 👀#*BIG european tour lol i'm on mobile and can't edit the tags anymore #bug tour...😂
