mmh. copvia getting freaky wearing cassocks. mhm. mhmm hm. i have a thing with clothes and the ones copia wore in his cardinal era were 😌🤌 so fucking hot. so many smooth straight lines, so many buttons, the shoes. hmhm

YES GRGAHH cardinal cassocks make me want to slam my head into a wall i Love them so much u have No idea..
but copia’s gloved fingers tracing the purple lining of pet’s cassock, a hint of envy for the pure skill of the craftsmanship put into his brother’s garment. even as tacky as he thought they were (like he thinks of everything his brother does), the skeleton embellishments amaze and arouse him; the cassock fits pet perfectly, the fabric tailored to his shape, the fascia wrapped so perfectly around his grabbable waist. there’s heat building between them as they take turns humping the other’s thighs through their cassocks— too desperate to stop and even think about meticulously picking through all 33 buttons— so they make do, fisting the other’s capelets as they press their lips together, grunting and groaning into each other’s mouths when they catch that beautiful shared friction.
alternatively. boot (+ cassock?) worship. pet making copia kiss every button on his cassock just to humiliate him, starting from the top and working his way down. copia kneeling beneath pet, licking and kissing at his polished shoes, catching his brother’s look of contempt whenever he dares to glance up.
#ask#iinchicore#fun fact but im literally trying to sew a cassock from scratch rn just bc i love copia’s so much#its going about as well as u can imagine a butterick pattern from like#the 80s???#would go lmao#copvia#the band ghost#copia#perpetua

butterick has been making sewing patterns since 1863, so they basically rose in popularity along with the sewing machine. mccall's was founded in 1870. vogue was established in 1899, and simplicity in 1927. they weren't all under the same company until 2017. they avoided getting broken up by the FTC because the deal brokered was under the trade commission's monetary threshold to qualify as a monopoly. now the parent company has been sold to the same liquidator that has been slashing and burning joanne's to the ground, specifically citing tariffs for their OTHER products even though the patterns themselves are made in the US. this company also owns the last tissue pattern paper production factory in the US which smaller pattern companies contract with in order to produce THEIR patterns, not to mention any archival materials for the 100+ years most of these companies have been operating.
jfc
if you would like to share something special or important you made with one of these patterns in the tags, that would be really cool, too. even if they are big companies in their home nations, please count non-american produced patterns as "indie" for the purposes of this poll, mainly because of issues of access. if you couldn't get it in a big box craft store like joanne's (rip), that's indie for a lot of people.

"On Friday, the company announced it had sold its US division, IG Design Group Americas (DGA), which owns the sewing pattern brands, to Hilco Capital, a liquidation firm.
DGA also owns other craft brands, including Boye needles, Wrights trim, and Perler fusible beads, among others.
They also own the last pattern tissue printers in the country, and that is significant to all the other pattern companies that rely upon it."
6/5/25:
This one from 2020:
Well my loves, it appears as though the answer to "Can the Big Pattern Company (Simplicity/Burda/McCalls/ect.) survive the death of JoAnn?" has come.
The answer is no. No it cannot. It has been sold to a liquidator just like JoAnns was.
So if there is ANYTHING you want I suggest you get it now. simplicity.com is currently having a pattern sale and I snatched up some that might be useful for cosplay purposes.
I am very glad these last couple of years I have built up my collection.
#sewing#sewing patterns#it is Butterick not Burda#it's depressing#not that i use big 4 patterns#I'm fat lol#but i recognize the importance
