Back in the 50s, Danny Thomas was a major TV star who had a successful comedy series on national television (CBS) called ‘Make Room for Daddy’ (Later changed to ‘The Danny Thomas Show’). The son of Maronite immigrants from Lebanon, read that a young medical student, the son of Chassidic immigrants from Ukraine, was struggling to pay his tuition, and donated the shortfall. As a result, countless lives were saved and made better by Rabbi Dr. Abraham J. Twerski.
Rabbi Twerski described the story in an interview with the Pittsburgh Quarterly on November 19, 2007:
“By that time, I had several children, so my dad and some members of the congregation helped me to pay for school. I applied for a scholarship through a foundation, but it didn’t come through, so in my third year, I fell two trimesters behind on tuition.
One day, I called my wife at lunch as always, and she asked, “What would you do if you had $4,000?” I said, “I’m too busy to talk about fantasies.” She said, “But you really do have $4,000!” I said, “From where?” She said, “From Danny Thomas.” “Who’s Danny Thomas?” She said, “The TV star.”
Then she read me an article from The Chicago Sun. Local officials had told Mr. Thomas about a young rabbi who was struggling to get through medical school. Thomas asked, “How much does your rabbi need?” They said, “Four thousand dollars.” He said, “Tell your rabbi he’s got it.”
Rabbi Twerski was a scholar with feet planted firmly in two worlds — the rabbinic world of Torah and Talmud study, and a medical doctor and licensed psychiatrist. It was a rare pairing that earned him respect in both the insular ultra-Orthodox Jewish world and wider American society. He was an expert on addiction and scion of a long line of prominent rabbis descended from the 18th-century founder of Hassidic Judaism, the Baal Shem Tov.
Rabbi Twerski was a prolific writer. He authored dozens of books on a wide array of subjects: from addiction and mental health to religious law for medical professionals and commentaries on Jewish texts. Twerski also collaborated with late “Peanuts” comic strip creator Charles Schulz on a series of popular self-help books featuring Charlie Brown and Snoopy.
May his memory be for a blessing.
Rabbi Yisroel Bernath
Danny Thomas was also the founder of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

If Donald Trump returns to the White House, close allies want to dramatically change the government's interpretation of Civil Rights-era laws to focus on "anti-white racism" rather than discrimination against people of color.
Why it matters: Trump's Justice Department would push to eliminate or upend programs in government and corporate America that are designed to counter racism that has favored whites.
Targets would range from decades-old policies aimed at giving minorities economic opportunities, to more recent programs that began in response to the pandemic and the killing of George Floyd.
Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung told Axios: "As President Trump has said, all staff, offices, and initiatives connected to Biden's un-American policy will be immediately terminated."
Driving the news: Longtime aides and allies preparing for a potential second Trump administration have been laying legal groundwork with a flurry of lawsuits and legal complaints — some of which have been successful.
A central vehicle for the effort has been America First Legal, founded by former Trump aide Stephen Miller, who has called the group conservatives' "long-awaited answer to the ACLU."
America First cited the Civil Rights Act of 1964 in February in a lawsuit against CBS and Paramount Global for what the group argued was discrimination against a white, straight man who was a writer for the show "Seal Team" in 2017.
In February, the group filed a civil rights complaint against the NFL over its "Rooney Rule."
The rule — named for Dan Rooney, late owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers — was instituted in 2003 and expanded in 2022. It requires NFL teams to interview at least two minority candidates for vacant general manager, head coach and coordinator positions.
American First argued that "given the limited time frame to hire executives and coaches after the season, this results in fewer opportunities for similarly situated, well-qualified candidates who are not minorities."
In 2021, Miller's group successfully sued to block the implementation of a $29 billion pandemic-era program for women- and minority-owned restaurants, saying it discriminated against white-owned businesses.
"This ruling is the first, but crucial, step towards ending government-sponsored racial discrimination," Miller said then.
Zoom in: Other Trump-aligned groups are preparing for a future Trump Justice Department to implement — or challenge — policies on a broader scale.
The Heritage Foundation's well-funded "Project 2025" envisions a second Trump administration ending what it calls "affirmative discrimination."
Part of the plan, written by former Trump Justice Department official Gene Hamilton, argues that "advancing the interests of certain segments of American society ... comes at the expense of other Americans — and in nearly all cases violates longstanding federal law."
Hamilton is America First Legal's general counsel.
Such groups have gained momentum with the Supreme Court's turn to the right — most notably its recent rejection of affirmative action in college admissions. The court ruled that programs designed to benefit people of color and address past injustices discriminate against white and Asian Americans.
In 2021, a federal judge blocked a $4 billion program to help Black farmers.
Earlier this month, another federal judge ruled that the Commerce Department's Minority Business Development Agency was discriminating against white people and that the program had to be open to everyone.
What they're saying: The Trump campaign directed Axios to the candidate's already stated positions bashing Biden's policies promoting equity.
"Every institution in America is under attack from this Marxist concept of 'equity,' " Trump said in 2023. "I will get this extremism out of the White House, out of the military, out of the Justice Department, and out of our government."
The Trump campaign's Steven Cheung added: "President Trump is committed to weeding out discriminatory programs and racist ideology across the federal government."
The NFL and Miller declined to comment. CBS didn't respond to a request for comment.
Between the lines: A CBS poll last November found that 58% of Trump voters believe that people of color were advantaged over white people — just 9% of Biden voters said the same.
Polls also show, however, that Trump is gaining support among Black and Latino voters.
Zoom out: Trump has portrayed himself as the victim of racism amid his legal troubles.
He repeatedly has said Black women prosecutors in Georgia and New York are "racist."
His political career really began in 2011 as the chief Birther-agitator, questioning Barack Obama's eligibility to be president.
When Trump jumped into the presidential race in 2015, he accused Mexico of dumping criminals and rapists into the U.S.

The Golden Age of Radio, ep. 01
Tesla did invent the wireless radio that he held a public demonstration in 1893, but an Italian inventor named Guglielmo Marconi believed communication could happen through radio waves using what he called “telegraphy without wires” and he proved it in 1865 by sending and receiving a radio signal by Morse code. His intention was to use wireless communication to contact ships and he wanted to broaden his reach by transmitting waves across the Atlantic on December 12, 1901. There are historians that say Marconi stole the radio from Tesla, but regardless, he did invent radio waves and he was the first to send communication which he is credited as the father of radio.
After much work to perfect wireless communication, ships were outfitted with radios that proved beneficial when sailing the seas. The Titanic used radio to send distress signals to nearby vessels for aid, and though too many passengers lost their lives, many were indeed saved.
Tumblr media
Marconi revolutionized radio communications. The first recorded radio broadcast happened in 1906 on Christmas Eve. Canadian Reginald Fessenden, also named father of radio, worked with Edison in New Jersey for years to improve radio waves by transmitting sound like human voices and he proved it accomplishable with the first audible broadcast on Christmas Eve. Fessenden introduced the small ensemble playing Christmas tunes and he would end the show, “Goodnight to all.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
January 13, 1910 was the first live public broadcast from the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. Radio communication proved effective in World War I, but a decade later in 1920 marked a historical event when Pittsburgh station KDKA aired the first commercial broadcast in America on Election Day, November 2, to announce the results of the Harding and Cox. The success of the broadcast inspired other stations to start their own broadcast programs, and thus, this paved the road for the Golden Age of Radio in America.
In the 1920’s, From 1930 through to the 1940’s commercial radio programs aired with programs that entertained families in the privacy of their homes. The function of radios wasn’t limited to homes, but also on battlefields, in the air, and on the seas in both World Wars I and II.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Radio programs allowed its audiences to visualize performances and favorites brought families together to enjoy their favorites: The Jack Benny Program, Amos ‘n’ Andy, Dick Tracy, Burns and Allen… a few of so many. RCA - later became NBC, CBS, and ABC were the biggest networks that contracted celebrities and their sponsors that were recorded in New York City or Hollywood. During the birth of television, shows would move from NYC to Hollywood as programs started to converge over from sound to sight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If ever you get an opportunity to listen to a radio program, do so with an open mind. You’ll be amazed between the difference. Until next time… aloha oe.

California’s Democrat Government Permits illegal immigrants to be police officers.  It is only a logical step to put them into the US Army.
First Democrats demonized white men, forced white soldiers to take “sensitivity training,” and then refused white men promotion because “there are too many white officers.”  Consequently, white men stopped signing up for military service that they found to be oppressive and humiliating.  Now Democrats want to give immigrant-invaders citizenship for serving in the US military.  Tucker Carlson explains:
youtube
As CBS explains, “anyone who can legally work in the state under federal law can be a police officer regardless of citizenship. Lying “fact checker” scum claim claim that this in no way applies to undocumented workers, only to people with  work authorization.  But work permits for illegals are part of the perks handed to them. See this.
As I recently reported, four years of the anti-white, anti-American Biden regime has allowed according to official (and understated) data immigrant-invaders to enter equivalent in number to 48 cities the size of Pittsburgh.  How are these massive numbers of people to be supported if they are not permitted to have work permits.  Cities and states have budgetary problems. Many American citizens are living on credit card debt.  The federal debt is exploding as foreign demand for US Treasuries declines.  Who is going to support 15,000,000 people without work permits?

Here are some sources debunking your claim that Jesus was anti semetic.
https://antisemitism.adl.org/deicide/
https://www.bu.edu/articles/2013/beauty-and-anti-semitism-the-gospel-of-john/
https://remember.org/guide/history-root-classical?amp=1
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/jews-are-the-children-of-satan-john-8-44-danger-of-taking-biblical-passages-out-of-context/
Literally every single one of these sources supports the notion that if Jesus existed in the way the Gospels describe him, he was an antisemite. Maybe read your sources before choosing them???
Also the article from Boston University is Christian apologia, and the article from CBS is a response to the Pittsburgh Massacre, and an appeal to extremist Christians to stop murdering Jews. Remember.org is also highly simplifying the issue because its aim is teaching stuff to *children*, and the ADL just outright refutes your claims. And even then, all of them support the fact that Jesus of the Gospels was an antisemite.
Anyway Tumblr is seriously lacking in critical media literacy oh my god.
Some helpful tips in identifying sources and claims:
-What is the POV? Who is the author, and what is their profession that might influence their world view?
-What is the context? Is the article a response to an issue, or merely an unbiased statement?
-Is there a conflict of interest? Would stating one thing conflict with the best interests of the author or publication?
-What is the genre? Is it a news site? A scientific journal? An awareness campaign?
-Who is the intended audience? Is it children? Scholars? Laymen? Extremists? In-groups?
These are just some basic literary analysis and media literacy skills that I think you and all the others clogging my inbox would benefit from. :)

Bills win, 21-14 against the Dolphins!
Sweeping the Miami Dolphins in the division also earns Buffalo their 4th AFC East title and the overall number 2 seed in the AFC. They face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Gods, what a season. From starting week one 0-1 against the Jets to winning in weeks 2, 3, and 4 to losing so many key defensive players in week 5 to thinking our season was done after the loss to the Broncos and then finally winning against the Chiefs, the Cowboys, the Chargers, the Pats and the Dolphins to earn the spot in the playoffs and retake the division.
Plus, next year, the Chiefs come to Buffalo. Ooh give them a December game, please!
But I can't focus too much on the far future when the postseason's upon us!
Next weekend:
Texans/Browns Saturday afternoon on NBC
Chiefs/Dolphins Saturday Night only on Peacock
Bills/Steelers Sunday afternoon at 1pm EST on CBS
Cowboys/Packers Sunday afternoon at 4:30 EST on Fox
Lions/Rams Sunday night at 8pm on NBC
and finally
Tampa Bay/Eagles Monday night at 8:15 pm on ESPN
San Fransico and Baltimore take the week off as the number one seeds in the NFC and AFC respectively. They'll play the lowest-ranked seed remaining the following week.
The postseason might have only just begun but it's nice seeing this again :D
