The Proud Boys, the far right violent extremist street gang, are planning disruptive protests during the 'target rich environment' of Pride month celebrations.

Morning Briefing: The Proud Boys, the far right violent extremist street gang, “are now more active than ever, and are busy planning disruptive protests at Pride month celebrations across the country in June.”

The Ohio chapter of the group has reported called the upcoming month of LGBTIQ events a “target rich environment.”

The Countering Extremism Working Group was formed to combat extremism within the ranks of the U.S. military, however, two years since the establishment of the working group “the effort has vanished virtually without a trace.”

Shane Lamond, a Lieutenant and the head of an intelligence unit within the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., “faces criminal charges after allegedly warning the leader of the far-right Proud Boys group about an arrest warrant and leaking other law enforcement information.”

The New Hampshire attorney general’s office met with Task Force Butler, an organization of military veterans that recent published a report on the activities of a neo-Nazi group throughout New England, and “state officials encouraged the veterans group and others to report hate crimes to their office.”

* Acknowledgment of the lack of evidence for the benefits of cross-sex hormones, the need for caution and the importance of data collection and follow-up. NHS England must now follow the recommendation for a review of cross-sex hormones and include them in a broader research programme.

* The recommendation for provision of specialised NHS services for detransitioners and those who regret their medical transition. This is an urgent requirement.

* Insufficient research on social transition, inconclusive evidence of any benefits but clear risk of creating persistence of an identity that would in all likelihood have resolved by itself. Governments should use this information to end the practice of social transition in schools carried out by untrained adults. The impact on other children of adults pretending a child has changed their sex is outside the terms of reference for this report, but it is something the government must address.

* Recognition that no formal science-based training in psychotherapy, psychology or psychiatry teaches or advocates ‘conversion therapy.’ Normal “exploration of complex psychosocial challenges and/or mental health problems an adolescent may be experiencing is essential to provide diagnosis, clinical support and appropriate intervention”, and it is harmful to equate this approach to ‘conversion therapy.’

I hate male patients so much. In my time at medical school, I’ve been subject to weird sexual comments, had unwanted physical contact, had men denigrate their female partners (who are most often their sole caretakers) in front of me, had male workers have inappropriate sexual conversations in front of me, been used as “bait” to get male patients to “behave” and engage. It’s so sickening.

Misogyny Archive is a website where you can report any man who is known to indulge in misogynistic behaviour. You can choose multiple categories, from verbal, online, sexual, violent, spiritual. There’s currently 25 categories listed, with descriptions of what all of them entail. You’re also able to contribute information, that would help other women recognize the misogynist, and give them an option to make informed decision regarding this individual.

Our hope is that, by reporting the men we know to be dangerous, misogynistic, potentially violent and sexually predatory, by linking their locations, we could start drawing the lines between the anonymous assaults, anonymous stalkers and attackers, and figure out which men are most likely to be behind them. Women are encouraged to report and describe anonymous predators as well, and it’s possible some of their descriptions will match with those whose names are already reported!

The website is meant to be a resource and a database used for women to be able to make informed decisions, stay safe, be protected from the known predators, and aware of what men in their life are capable of doing, behind their backs. We also hope it will help us catalogue, track, analyze and keep track of the number of misogynistic crimes, and their severity, and give more detailed picture of the dangers we currently live in. This is up to the reporters, and depends on how used and utilized this website is!

This project is created by Inna, the developer, who worked for months to create the database from just an idea. We worked together on figuring out the fine spots, covering the questions of backups, security, functionality. We’re both excited to have it finally up and running, and we hope you’ll go and report everyone you can, everyone you feel you are safe from. Because as much as we’d love to, we can’t make a website only women can access, so if someone you’re reporting could guess it’s you, and try to take revenge, don’t mention him by name, or wait until you’re completely safe! The site is only working to protect women, for as long as it brings no women in danger.

I also want to note that giving the identifying information is optional. If you feel safe reporting only the crime, do it. If you feel safe only reporting the location and what happened, do that! You can always make a new report later, when it’s safe.You will never be asked to identify yourself.

harm reduction was such a refreshing and amazing radical approach specifically designed for health care and addiction care and now libs have managed to reduce its revolutionary potential to "vote for liberals" - most of whom don't even actually support a harm reduction approach to public health. that's depressing.

anyway, you should know that most homeless shelters don't allow alcohol consumption, let alone opioid use, leaving many addicts with their only option being to sleep on the streets, cold or overheating, at a higher risk of robbery and violence. keep in mind that detoxing from alcohol and opioids can be dangerous, even fatal.

harm reduction approaches keeps addicts as safe as they can be. providing free clean needles, allowing alcoholic beverages at shelters, drug testing kits, methadone clinics, carrying naloxone - in other words: helping people use safely instead of stopping them from using all together - that is harm reduction.

keep that in mind the next time you use the term harm reduction; that it is rooted in enabling habits that we tend to demonise, habits that we ascribe to people when we want to justify hurting them and taking away their autonomy, but that are actually morally neutral and often rooted in deeper societal issues. societal issues which liberals tend not to want to solve.

Morning Briefing: Patriot Front Spreads White Nationalist Propaganda From Washington to New Hampshire

Morning Briefing: Patriot Front, the neo-fascist White Nationalist group, has targeted communities around the country with White Nationalist propaganda. The group has also increasing used antisemitic messaging, in response to the Israel-Hamas war. The group claims that network of chapters are “rapidly expanding across the country,” and multiple network chapters hosted gatherings during the Thanksgiving holidays.

In addition to spreading propaganda in the former of placing stickers or spray-painting stencils in public areas, the group also conducted “training” sessions at undisclosed locations in Corona, California; Boston, Massachusetts; Grand Forks, North Dakota; and in Yellowstone National Park in Montana. These “trainings” are increasingly resembling the activities of the Active Club Network and the Rise Above Movement — signaling an increasing focus on extremist violence.

In recent weeks, members of Patriot Front distributed propaganda in several communities including Birmingham, Chelsea, Homewood, Mobile, and Trussville, Alabama; Norco, California; Denver, Colorado; Atlanta, Georgia; Bay City, Midland, and South Lyon, Michigan; Crystal Springs, Meridian, and Starkville, Mississippi; Camdenton and St. Louis, Missouri; Londonderry and Manchester, New Hampshire; Asheville, North Carolina; Fargo, North Dakota; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Bountiful, Utah; Alexandria and Fredericksburg, Virginia; and Liberty Lake, and Yakima, Washington.

Patriot Front propaganda was recently reportedly found on the campus of Purdue University, and the “incident appears to be a part of a sporadic pattern of similar stickers going up around campus.” The group has strategically targeted college campuses for spreading propaganda and recruitment of new members, and members recently distributed flyers outside of an event sponsored by the right-wing group Turning Point USA on the campus of Missouri State University.

today my little sister told me she was angry because of how other students treated her best friend in high school. i asked her what was going on ; she told me people were racist to her (the girl is black), even their "friends". she said her best friend wears braids or buns almost everyday, after spending time straightening her hair, but that often she doesn't want to and would like to just go to class with her hair loose and natural, without tying it up or straightening it at all ; that often she wants to untie them in the middle of the day for whatever reason. the thing is she never does it and always tie her hair up to go to high school anyway because if she doesn't, people laugh at her and keep touching her hair no matter how many times she tells them to fucking stop and leave her alone. even her friends - especially her friends. my sister told me that everytime she's tried, people mocked her, tried to touch her hair, their friends spent their time making racist comments about it and touching her hair, laughing, ignoring her when she told them to stop and fuck off... and obviously i already knew it was something black women face all the time but still it made me so angry to hear that. this teenager wants to go to high school with her hair down and natural and she can't because people including her supposed friends are being stupid and racist pieces of shit who think it's totally ok to make jokes about a black girl's hair and to touch said hair every damn second
