This group is open to all creators: writers, visuals artists, and readers. It is for those who appreciate these types of creators. All fandoms are welcome. We accept original works, original characters, alternate universe, strict canon, opt, x reader, and so on.

We aim to support, nurture, and cheer on our fellow content creators, as well as give everyone visibility. Different levels of participation are okay. I understand that schedules change, as does health. Participate at any level, as it feels right for you and your heath.

Creators' Club: Showcase Sunday

[insert fancy header that I haven't created here. Haven't created yet. :D]

Hello. I am @bardic-tales and I am the one who comes into your inboxes to ask questions and to get to know everyone. Everyone can call me bardic, Nicole, or NL. I have been writing since I was really young about 8 or 9, which is around 36 years.

I have aphasia, avpd, chronic migraines, and insomnia. I am usually up when the Europeans wake up and still awake when the others do. As a writer, I'm almost always at my computer.

I have self-published a few romantic suspense novels which had garnered a few good reviews, but my most prized accomplishment is the daily deviant for a very personal piece of writing called: Infertility.

My work

This used to be a Writeblr filled with original content and several trilogies I was working on. My doctor would discourage me from trying to actively publish and market, as I can't have too much stress in my life for health reasons. So, now I simply have fun with everyone and work on my own passion project. Plus, I have slowly watched Sephiroth slowly take over my blog.

Right now, I am 100% focused on my world of angels, demons, and fandoms. The main relationship that I have going on right now is between my fallen angel OC (Bianca Moore) and Sephiroth, since these two have given me such brain rot. Fantasy Worlds Collide consists of 5 OCs but many more will be added as I outline the original and inuyasha fanfiction I have planned. Blood and Stardust is the final fan fiction of the series and is already plotted out. I'm working on the first chapter now. I have several drabbles and flash fiction for Bianca and Sephiroth now.

The Legacy of Seraphine

During Angstober last year, I decided to write a scene that showed Bianca in the North Crater with Sephiroth. This was to show her descent into maddness and her relationship with her mother, Seraphine. Seraphine tells Bianca that she will have to murder Sephiroth, as she was a guardian of the celestial and mortal realms, like her mother. This was before her character evolved more.

It wasn't a very long fic: only 500-ish words, but it felt like I was on top of my game with it. Bianca will always be a character that is difficult to write, as I find it hard to step into her madness now.

The wide silhouette of the early century started to slim come the mid century, and it slimmed even more so come the 1770s. Style in general was becoming more simplified, leading to fashion that exemplified the new 'casual' aesthetic. The habit à la française came into mode for men, showcasing the standing collar that would carry over into the early 1800s. The front skirt of the coat started being cut back, exposing the front of the breeches. This resulted in waistcoats becoming shorter and breeches becoming tighter to exaggerate the new silhouette. In direct contrast to this move toward simplicity, dandies outfitted themselves in eye-catching and visually lavish ensembles. Their style loudly announced their cosmopolitan, fashion-centric outlook, and their sartorial choices blurred the line between masculine and feminine.

We've now finally hit the point in the historical timeline where I can represent my home country! While the early white settlement of Australia is typically associated with the convicts that were shipped to penal colonies in the newly discovered country, by the late 1700s free settlers were also making it home. Many of these settlers built homesteads and farmed the land for survival. It was a tough life and their practical clothing reflected as such.

The end of the 18th century saw a great deal of political unrest, most notably in France. The French Revolution had a huge impact on clothing as it became increasingly important to outwardly show your republican support via your stylistic choices. Waistcoats were still very much a part of a man's everyday wardrobe, and often times they were decorated to show political sympathies. The 1790s saw the rise of the sans-culottes - working class men who shunned the wearing of breeches in favour of loose trousers. These were often paired with a red wool cap known as a bonnet phrygian, which signified the wearer's hardcore dedication to the revolution. CC links under the cut.
