Your bottom lip is already wobbling when you click call.   You sprawl on your belly, front-down in a frilly pink bed in your childhood bedroom.  You are visiting your parents in the countryside, miles away from your apartment in the city and miles away from your best friends.
You are calling them now, desperate for their friendly faces.  Your boys are the first ones you call in any crisis.  You don’t know what you would do without them.  Just the thought has you sniffling despondently.
After a few more rings, Jeongin and Hyunjin answer one right after the other.  Your phone is filled with three little squares of faces, theirs smiling and yours utterly miserable.
You look at those smiles and promptly burst into tears.
“Ahh!” Hyunjin wails.
“Ohh, whoa, what!” Jeongin says.
Both of them look concerned, all scrunched up brows and frowning faces.  At least you think so.  It is hard to see through your tears.
“Baby, baby,” Hyunjin says.  At the same time, Jeongin asks, “What’s wrong?”
You cry a few more weepy sobs, then you grab the closest teddy bear and wipe your eyes on it.  You sniffle and pout.
Even though you want their comfort, you can’t bring yourself to look at your friends when you admit, “I’ve been lying to my parents for months.”
“What?” Hyunjin asks.
“Huh?”  Jeongin says.
You blink away your tears and look at them properly.  They are the very picture of concern.  They have such striking faces so their emotions are always so plain, their features sharp, with thick dark brows and sloping cheeks and full lips.  Jeongin dyed his hair a fairer auburn a while ago, but Hyunjin is dark, both of them so handsome it makes you hiccup on a caught breath.
These thoughts make you feel even more pathetic.  Here you are, gawking at your best friends while everything falls apart around you.
You drop your face and cry some more.  They watch helplessly through their screens, saying your name and trying to calm you down.
“What happened?” Hyunjin asks when your tears have slowed.
“Remember a few months ago, when I went out with that guy who works at the coffee shop?”
“Yes, I hated him,” Jeongin says in a clipped tone while Hyunjin scoffs.
“Me too,” Hyunjin says.  Their sour faces speak volumes.
“What!”  This distracts you from yours tears for a moment.  “You guys told me you liked him!”
“Yeah, only because you did,” Jeongin says.  He is in his bedroom and he flops back on his bed, his mop of hair forming a charming halo around his head.  He grins that dimpled, mischievous grin at you.  “But now you don’t like him, so we hate him.”
“I always hated him,” Hyunjin says.  He is sitting at his desk, lit so prettily by lamplight that it looks like a dreamy filter.  He props his face in his hand and pouts dramatically.  “You didn’t need him anyway, baby,” he says.  “You’ve always got us.”
At the same time Hyunjin says this, Jeongin tucks a hand under his head.  He is wearing a sleeveless top and his bicep flexes where his bare arm curves.  Between Hyunjin’s pretty face and prettier words, and Jeongin looking like that, it is no wonder how quickly heat rushes to your face.
You bury your face in the blankets and shriek, frustrated with everything in your ridiculous life.  They are still looking at you with concern when you surface.
“Sorry,” you say.  “The point is, my mom would ask about him.  You know what my parents are like and how much they want me to be in a relationship.”
You love your family, you do.  You do not regret using visiting your parents.  The dinners and tea times and game nights have been a delight.  You have been proud to catch them up on your life in the city.  You are happy with your life, your education and your job and your friends.  Your parents are proud of you.
They just cannot help but poke that one little detail, snagging like a loose thread on a nail and unravelling your careful composition with their obvious judgement.
You are not in a relationship.  You have never been in a relationship.
Oh, sure, there have been dates scattered here and there, but nothing serious.  You are fine with this but your parents consider this cause for catastrophic levels of concern.
You try to show grace.  Your family is only nosy out of misplaced worries, convinced that if you do not have a boyfriend then you must sobbing yourself to sleep every night.  Which is not true.  Well, sometimes it’s true, especially because your two best friends are the ones making your heart race, but most of the time you just eat cheese toast in bed.
To assuage the worst of their concerns, you maybe exaggerated the truth a teensy tiny bit.
“Well,” you say, “They were so happy that I went on more than one date, so it got them off my case for a while.  After we went our separate ways, I sort of just… kept telling them… I was still seeing him…”
“Uh oh,” Jeongin says.  Hyunjin grimaces.  Yeah, your friends know you well.  They have never met your family but they know the stories and they can guess where this is going.
“Yeah, uh oh is right,” you say.  “My mom invited me out here for their summer party.  They throw one every year to start the season.  They invite the whole family and all their friends and their friends’ kids.  It’s huge.  I wasn’t even thinking when I said I would come because I always do.  Only when I agreed did my mom tell me to bring my boyfriend for everyone to meet… at which point I remembered…”
“That you don’t actually have a boyfriend?”  Jeongin asks with a quirked eyebrow.  Hyunjin laughs, covering his mouth with a quick slap of his hand to hide it.
“Don’t laugh at me!” you say with a miserable whine.  “It’s not funny.  I messed up and now I don’t know what to tell them!”
“What did you tell them so far?” Jeongin asks while Hyunjin tries to get his face under control.
“I was going to tell them the truth when I got here,” you say.  “But then they were so disappointed that my boyfriend wasn’t with me.  I couldn’t disappoint them even more by saying he didn’t exist at all in the first place!”
“So you told a bigger lie instead,” Hyunjin says, tilting his head questioningly.  “What did you say exactly?”
“I just said he was busy with work,” you say.  “And they were really upset about it so I tried to cheer them up.  I said he was going to try and make it to the party at least.”
“But he’s not real,” Jeongin says.
“Yes, Jeongin!” you squeal.  “That’s the problem!  And also—”  A flood of tears return, blurring your vision again.  “I know it’s so stupid.  We’re all grown-ups now.  But I was the youngest out of all the kids growing up, so I was always the dumb little tag-along.  My mom has told everyone I have a boyfriend coming and if I make up an excuse tomorrow, they’re all gonna see through it.  They’ll be nice to my face because we aren’t kids anymore but I already know they’re gonna talk about me and how pathetic I am.”  You start crying again, looking around at the bedroom you grew up in, still filled with the books and clothes and toys you left behind after moving.  It makes you feel like that little girl again.  It only worsens your angst.  “Tomorrow is going to be the worst day of my life,” you say.
“Aw, no, no, it won’t,” Jeongin says.
“Hey, baby, don’t cry,” Hyunjin also says.  They both speak in the sweetest tones imaginable, gazing so lovingly into their cameras it makes you melt.
“You know you’re better than that,” Jeongin says.
“Yeah, who cares what they think?” Hyunjin adds.
“I care,” you say in a small voice, looking away again because you feel so embarrassed.  “At least a little bit.  I know it’s silly.”
“It’s not,” Hyunjin says.  At the same Jeongin says, “It is but it’s fine.”  They both scowl at the camera as if frowning at each other.  It makes you laugh through your tears.  You wipe your eyes on the teddy bear again.
“I guess it doesn’t matter now,” you say.  “I just have to face it.  It’s my own fault.  Maybe if I could just get a boyfriend for real, if I didn’t suck so much—”
“You’re perfect,” they say in unison.  It seems to make all three of you look flustered at once.
“Seriously,” Hyunjin says while Jeongin clears his throat.  “You’re our girl.”
“Yeah, everyone is else is just stupid,” Jeongin says.
“You only need to listen to us,” Hyunjin says.
“Listen to me, not him,” Jeongin teases.  “He’s kinda stupid too.”
“Excuse me,” Hyunjin says in a perfectly catty voice.  Jeongin sticks his tongue out.
Their antics make you laugh.  You rest your cheek on the teddy bear and kick your legs behind you, smiling into your screen.
“Okay,” you say.  “In that case, just distract me until I go to bed.  It’s gonna be a long day tomorrow.”
They both smile at you.  They waste no time obliging, launching into stories and playful bickering, making you forget about everyone and everything else.  They are your boys.  They are all you need.
You go to bed with a smile on your face.
-
That smile is gone the next day.  You are a bundle of raw nerves all morning.  Despite the food being prepared, you cannot imagine eating, so sick to your stomach with anxiety.  Your parents ask about your boyfriend and you answer in vague replies and half-promises.  You claim he is still working but you are optimistic.  You cry your make-up off only once, which is ten times less than you thought you would.
At least you look pretty.  You bought a new dress for the occasion, a pretty floral piece that sweeps the floor with a delicate swish.  If you are going to suffer, at least you will suffer beautifully.
You are standing in front of the mirror, practicing lines and excuses and grimacing at all of them.  You are interrupted when your mother calls you downstairs, the first of the guests arriving.
Here goes nothing, you think.
You take a deep gulp of air and descend the stairs, plastering a big fake smile on your face as you greet the party guests.
They come in waves.  Cousins, aunts, uncles, neighbours, friends.  You greet everyone pleasantly.  There are so many people and so many conversations that you manage to sink into the background of every discussion, batting queries about your own private life with questions for someone else.
You start to wonder if you worried for nothing, then someone directly asks about your boyfriend.  Not just someone, but one of the girls in your age group.
“Your mother didn’t know much, she said you were quite evasive about it!” she says.  She is not being unkind because she currently has no reason to believe you are lying.  It will be later, when everyone realizes this mystery man is not manifesting, then everyone will start to gossip and draw conclusions.  This is just the beginning of a long, agonizing party.  “Is he going to be here?” she asks.  “I can’t wait to meet him!  He’s your first boyfriend, right?”
You love your mom, but she really is such a blabbermouth.
You laugh awkwardly, fidgeting with the skirt of your dress.
“Ha-ha, yeah, I was, um, just waiting for the, uh, right person, you know,” you say.
Someone else opens their mouth to ask more when the doorbell rings.
“Oh, I better get that!” you say and leap out of your seat.  You give no one a chance to protest, scampering around bodies to get out of the backyard and into the house.  You run past your father who is ambling to the door, telling him you got it.  You want to let the guest inside then stand in the front yard to catch your breath.  Hopefully, by the time you go back, the conversation will have moved on.
You swing open the door, a polite greeting on your lips.  It catches when you see who is standing there.
“Jeongin!” you exclaim.
Your best friend is standing on your porch, grinning that big cheshire cat smile. He is an absurdly sexy vision.  Jeongin is a tech guy but he takes modelling gigs on the side, fashion a personal hobby to him.  His auburn hair is neatly styled around his face, a slash of colour in an otherwise all-black look.  It makes him look long and fit, loose pants and a dress shirt over a sleeveless top, topped with a leather jacket.  A silver chain sparkles around his neck.
He swoops in and kisses your cheek, giggling to himself.
“I heard someone needed a boyfriend,” he says.
You laugh a little hysterically, all the joy returning to your body in a rush.  You slap your hands on your hot cheeks and look him up-and-down.
“Oh, wow,” you say.  “You shouldn’t have.  But you look really good.”
Your eyes are on the tip of his black boots.  He is looking at you too, his eyebrows lifted as his gaze travels down your body.
“Yeah,” he says on a breath.  “You too.”
Flustered, you cover yourself then swat at him.  It makes him grin again, cheek dimpled.
“Stop that,” you say.  “You’re not allowed to say things like that to me.  And I’ve been sweating like a stuck pig under here.  I feel like I should do the grown-up thing and come clean and send you away, but I’m not gonna do that. Come on.”  You loop your arm with his elbow and drag him through the house to the back yard.
Seconds before joining the party, he leans in to whisper in your ear, “Then as your boyfriend, I’m allowed to tell you that you looking really fucking good.  Okay?”
You very literally fall into the yard.  Fortunately, Jeongin keeps his balance and yanks you upright.  You stumble into his open arms, your back plastered to his chest.  He is probably smiling that big grin at everyone as he keeps his arms around you.
“Hi,” he finally says and offers a little wave.
“Ahhh!” your mother screams more gleefully than a clown horn.  She immediately starts hollering for your father.
“He’s inside getting some food ready, mom,” you say, covering your face in embarrassment as she scuttles up to you.
“My goodness, my goodness,” your mother says, all but throwing you to the side to get to Jeongin.  “Oh, I’ve heard so much.  No, actually, that’s not true, I haven’t heard anything.  Tsk, crazy girl.  Always with her secrets.  But look at you, oh my, you’re so handsome!  Look at those dimples.”
“Mom!” you wail.  “Stop pinching his cheeks!”
Someone sitting nearby tugs your skirt.  It is the girl from before and she is grinning.  He’s hot, she mouths very blatantly, winking at you.  You smile an awkward, too-wide grin, still more embarrassed than not.  Everyone is chattering, looking at you and Jeongin.  A couple others smile and give you a thumbs up.  You pretend to be very preoccupied with a speck on your dress, focussed on scratching it off so you do not have to meet any eyes.
In the midst of all the madness, the doorbell rings again.  You hear your father inside, shouting that he will get it.
“Oh, hurry up!” your mother shouts.  “You have to meet—oh goodness, what is your name?” she asks, even while she has a hand in his hair.
“Ha, ah, Jeongin,” he says, managing to politely extricate himself.  He takes her hand and pats it affectionately.  “It’s nice to meet you, ma’am,” he says, then winks at you.  Your mother looks at you with a delighted smile.  You refrain from smacking your forehead.
At least things can’t get worse, you think, right before things get worse.
Your father steps into the yard, smiling a big smile.
“Ah, my little girl!” he says, waving at you.  “Your boyfriend is here!  Everybody, this is Hyunjin.”
Your heart was racing with adrenaline a moment ago.  Now, it freezes solid.  It feels like a cement block dropping right into your gut.  You are not sure if the entire party actually goes quiet or if your ears just give up to protect you.
You are helpless, standing stock still as your other best friend steps onto the deck behind your father.  Coincidentally and preposterously, he is dressed almost identical to Jeongin, all in black with a black leather jacket.  He is wearing sunglasses, though, which he pushes onto the top of his head when he sees Jeongin.
Jeongin stares back at him, then he looks at you.  Hyunjin looks at you.  Your mother looks at you.  Everyone looks at you.
“Um,” you squeak.
Wow, that speck on your dress really is so very interesting.  And why is it so hard to swallow?  Where is your tongue again?  Oh, why did you ever have to tell such a stupid lie, just for a few moments of convenience.
You clear your throat and look up.  Your voice comes in a croak when you say, “Hi, Hyunjin.”
“Hyunjin,” your mother says, looking at him.  He blinks at her.  Jeongin is handsome but Hyunjin is the definitive pretty boy, an artist behind the camera but just as suited to a life in the spotlight.  His artistic soul really shines through in every capacity.  Even his smile is a work of art, delicate and sweet as he looks at your mother.  He would have made a perfect fake boyfriend if you didn’t already have one.
Somehow you went from no boyfriends to two.  No, not even, because they are fake.  You went from no boyfriends to negative-two boyfriends.  That must be a feat.
“Ohhhh,” your mother suddenly interrupts the silence.  She starts giggling as she tip-toes to Hyunjin like a panther about to pounce.  “I see what’s happening,” she says, looking slyly between the three of you.  Then she grabs Hyunjin by the cheeks as well, shaking him around like a baby rattle.  “My little girl has TWO handsome boyfriends!” she cries out ecstatically.  “Oh, that’s just like her too.  You know, she was a late bloomer in every respect, but always caught up and surpassed everyone after the fact.  Struggled at school when she was little, then grew up and got herself on the dean’s list at university.  You know she didn’t even grow breasts until she was eighteen then ballooned right up, the biggest you’ve seen!”
“Mom!”
Jeongin and Hyunjin look at your chest at the same time.  You wrap your arms around yourself and frown, making them both clear their throat and look away.
“Oh, sweetie,” your mother says, finally freeing Hyunjin.  He and Jeongin stand together, rubbing their cheeks.  They watch as your mother takes your hand.  “I understand now why you were to hesitant to give us any details.  But it’s a brave new world.  There’s all sorts of different loves out there.  I’ve been reading books!”
“Exactly,” your father says, joining you in the middle of the party.  “We would never judge you for who you love.”
“That’s great,” you say.  This conversation would be really sweet if it wasn’t about your negative-two boyfriends and happening in front of fifty people.  “Thanks,” you say.
Your father is holding barbeque tongs.  He claps them in the air and smiles.
“Great!” he says.  “Who’s hungry!”
-
It isn’t until much later that you get a second alone with Hyunjin and Jeongin.  It is well after dinner when the sun is starting to set and the party has dispersed to different corners of the yard.  Your parents are with some friends, seated around a fire, so you drag your fake boyfriends into the house and upstairs to your bedroom.
You slam the door shut.
“Seriously!” you shriek.  “You didn’t think to tell each other you were going to show up to be my fake boyfriend?!”
They both look chagrined, Jeongin with his arms crossed and Hyunjin rocking on the balls of his feet.  They look at each other with a grimace, then try to smile at you.
“Don’t give me that look,” you say, then groan, leaning against your closed door.  You cover your face with your hands.  “This is insane.  My life is a joke.  Hwang Hyunjin, don’t even think about touching anything.”  You point to Hyunjin even though your eyes are covered.  You don’t need to see him to know he is reaching for something, always sticking his gossipy nose in places it doesn’t belong.  When you drop your hands, you catch him hovering near your head table.  He smiles nervously.  “Sit down,” you say, unamused.
Jeongin and Hyunjin plop onto the bed at the same time.  They look rather ridiculous in the black and leather, contrasted to all the pink and white lace of your old bedroom.  Ridiculous, yes, and definitely not stupidly sexy.  The contrast between two sexy bad boys and your floral cuteness is absolutely not a turn-on.  It’s not.  No.  No.  You refuse.
“Sorry,” Jeongin finally says.  “We should have checked first.  With you, at least.”
“Yeah, baby, seriously,” Hyunjin says, shaking his head.  “I feel really embarrassed.  You know we would never want to hurt you, right?”
“You were just crying so much,” Jeongin says.
“Yeah, I couldn’t sleep at all last night,” Hyunjin says.
They keep speaking in their defense.  You start to pout, feeling guilty, because they are so sincere in their apology.  It is very obvious they did not do this to embarrass you.  The complete opposite.  Your friends love you so much and it is obvious in everything they do.  From the day you met them, Jeongin and Hyunjin have happily dropped everything to help you with anything.  No task has ever been too big or too small.  If it’s for you, they will do it.  You are the exception to every rule and the first call every time.
They are your boys.  You are their girl.
“I’m sorry too,” you say.  “In fact, I’m even more sorry.  This whole thing is my fault, after all.  I should have never lied in the first place.”
“Don’t be sorry,” Jeongin says.
“Yeah, we all do stupid things,” Hyunjin says.
“It’s not like you knew it would get this bad,” Jeongin adds.
“I definitely don’t think she predicted this,” Hyunjin quips, looking at him.  It makes Jeongin snort and Hyunjin grins.
It makes you laugh as well, though you cover your mouth to hide it.
It’s no good.  Once the first giggle escape, they are relentless.  The three of you laugh until there are tears in your eyes, doubled over as the silly situation washes over you.  When the laughter has somewhat subdued, Hyunjin holds out a hand in offering.
“Come here,” he says.
You take his hand and he tugs you towards them.  You find yourself squished between them, framed between their bodies like a little flower.  Jeongin puts a hand on your lower back and Hyunjin brushes his knuckles over your cheek.  Both touches are innocent but the combination has your face heating.
Not just your face.  Heat rushes everywhere, cascading down your chest, swooping in your belly and lower.  Your toes even curl.
“Don’t be embarrassed,” Hyunjin says.  He smiles while holding your gaze. “You know we’ll help you no matter what, okay?”
Jeongin kisses your shoulder and you cannot hide your shiver.
“Okay,” you say in a small voice.
There is a moment of tense silence after this.  You look between them and they look at you.
You all jump when there is a knock at your door.  Hyunjin falls right off the bed, sprawling in an ungainly clatter of long limbs on the floor.  Jeongin scoots to the side, less dramatic but still surprised.  You sit straighter.  Hyunjin groans and rubs his head.
The door opens and your mother pokes her head inside, smiling.
“Sorry to interrupt,” she says.  “But sweetie, there will be time to be alone with your boyfriends later, since I assume they’re spending the night.  But right now we have company.  Come spend time with the guests.  Some of the others are using the hot tub and pool.  Do you boys need swim trunks? Yes? I’ll go find some, give me a second.”
No one gets an opportunity to even answer.  She closes the door and disappears as quickly as she came.
There is another beat of silence, then Jeongin says, “We’re spending the night, I guess?”
“Ow,” Hyunjin says.  “I think I bruised my elbow.”
“Oh my god,” you say.
-
You putter around the poolside until the sun fully sets.  When it gets dark, the pool lights start to flicker in rainbow patterns so the others gravitate there, splashing through the luminescence.
You and the boys wander to the hot tub while it is empty.  Jeongin sinks right in like he does not even feel the heat while Hyunjin has to make a dramatic show about every inch of skin that touches it.  You and Jeongin look at each other with matching quirked eyebrows.  You smile affectionately.
“What? It’s hot,” Hyunjin says, finally sitting.
“That is how they work,” Jeongin replies.
You giggle but also drop your gaze.  Your mother managed to find swim clothes that would mostly fit the boys.  Jeongin is shirtless in swim trunks, his wet hair slicked back, that handsome face and all those lean muscles on display.  When did he get so damn fit?  He was always athletic in a subtle, svelte way, but his arms and back ripple with definition now.
Hyunjin is in a wet suit, one that stops at the knee and elbow.  He is more covered but the solid black swimsuit makes him look so long and lean.  His hair is also damp.  You watch as he rakes his fingers through it, tucking it behind his ears.  He really is absurdly good looking.
You blame the heat under your skin on the jets.
“Psst,” Jeongin suddenly whispers.  His foot nudges yours under the water.  “Is that them?” he whispers.
You try to be subtle, turning your head to see who is there.  A few younger people are sitting in some pool chairs under a torch, chatting and occasionally glancing in your direction.  It is a few of the people you grew up with, the ones you told the boys about.
You nod at Jeongin, smiling shyly.  You look down at your legs through the rippled distortion of water.  You are wearing a simple one-piece, just as pink and floral as your dress, still a contrast to your boys.
You look at them in time to catch a mutual nod.  You were spread around the hot tub, a reach of space between your bodies, but they slide until they are pressed up on either side of you.  You look between them, curling your hands in nervous fists on your chest.
“What is it?” you whisper.
“We’re your boyfriends,” Hyunjin whispers with a smile.  “Shouldn’t we sit close to you?”
“Oh,” you squeak.  “I suppose that’s true.”  You swallow, looking at him then at Jeongin.  Your heart is pounding against your hands.  The combination of heat and desire is making you more than a little dizzy.  “Wh-what else should we be doing?” you ask before thinking twice.  Vocalizing your internal thought only intensifies your fantasies, your mind supplying plenty of mental images of what you would be doing in this hot tub if they were really your boyfriends.
Oh, you are definitely getting dizzy, but it is not just the jets.
Hyunjin and Jeongin look at each other, both of them surprised by your forward question.  Jeongin laughs because that is his instinct, that dimple never shy.  Hyunjin has more of a smirk than a smile.  He pokes his tongue into his cheek and lifts his eyebrows when you look at him.  It is a teasing expression.  It makes you dissolve into nervous giggles, sinking lower into the water.
He grabs you before you can disappear under the surface.  And it is a grab.  Between Hyunjin and Jeongin, you always suspected Hyunjin would be a gentle lover.  He is so gushy and romantic while Jeongin tends be more frank about things.  But it is Jeongin who gently strokes a hand down your arm, who laces his fingers with yours and squeezes.
Hyunjin reaches right under the water, stopping your descent with a hand on the back of your neck.  Your eyes widen as he yanks you up, not choking but certainly in control.  Your mouth falls open with surprise.  Much to your embarrassment, you moan before he even kisses you, the sound escaping of its own volition as he tilts his head and leans in.
Oh, his mouth is gentle even if he is not.  His hand is on your jaw, firm, holding your face where he wants it, but his lips are so soft and warm.  He kisses you deeply, licking into your mouth and sighing against your lips.  You steal a breath as well, your mouth open against his.  That breath catches when Jeongin kisses the nape of your neck, then your shoulder.
They both have big hands, long fingers, slender but strong.  You melt between them, all heat and need.
You turn to Jeongin, breathless with desire.  His eyes are dark, lids heavy.  You have never seen such intensity on his usually smiling face.
You are ready to kiss him when some playful shouts erupt from the audience you forgot about.  “Get it girl!” someone shouts.
“Oh my god,” you say.  Distracted, you reach behind you, grasping for nothing in particular when you find something, indeed.  Jeongin is rock hard in his swim trunks and your hand brushes the very decent length of him.
You snap your hand back to yourself, jaw dropping.
“Why are you hard?” you whisper harshly.
“What do you mean, why am I hard?” he whispers back, just as argumentatively.  “We’re all making out in a hot tub.  Of course I’m hard.”
“Hyunjin’s not hard!” you hiss.
You look over your shoulder.  Hyunjin is staring up into the air at nothing, looking a little too inconspicuous.
“Hyunjin!” you cry.
“What?” he returns, also whispering sharply.  “Are you saying you’re not turned on?”
“I—hmmph—you—no!”
“No?” he asks with a sharp tilt of his head.
“So,” Jeongin says, drawing your narrowed gaze back to him.  He just smiles at you.  “If we put our hands somewhere here,” his fingers skim your upper thigh and you jump, “we wouldn’t find…?”
You sputter helplessly but it does no good; you have no retaliation whatsoever.  You look at Hyunjin but he’s no help, just smirking at you.  He wiggles his fingers in a little wave and you feel flushed again.
“I’m leaving now,” you say and finally sink under the water while they laugh.
-
You step into your bedroom at the end of a very long day.  The guests have all gone home.  Your parents, for reasons your mother strangely explained, are staying at the neighbour’s house tonight.   You are very aware of the privacy it offers, the air rife with possibility.
Your boys are in your bed, wearing boxers and sleeveless shirts and bickering about the size of the quilt.  They stop yanking on the blankets when you appear.
You did not bring much sleepwear.  You figured you would wear the old shirts left behind in this room.  You have outgrown most of them, but that wasn’t a problem with you were sleeping alone.  Now you are wearing old gym shorts that sit very high up your thighs, a little shirt pulled taut across your ample chest, and your friends are staring at you, their previous conversation completely forgotten.
You cross your arms and stomp to the bed, feigning indifference.  You crawl over a startled Hyunjin to get to the middle, flopping into the little column of space they left for you.
“Good night,” you say.
Hyunjin turns off the bedside light.  The three of you are laying on top of the covers, on your backs, stiff as boards.  Your arms are still crossed over your chest in a totally unnatural position.  You refuse to look around, counting every little popcorn freckle in the ceiling design.
“You kissed him,” Jeongin says, his voice so loud in the silence.
You feel Hyunjin look over, hear the turn of his head on the pillow.  You cast your eyes to either side but do not turn your head.  There is already a skip in your heartbeat and you cannot encourage it.
“What?” you ask.
“You kissed him,” Jeongin says.  You feel him roll onto his side, facing you.  “You didn’t kiss me.”
You brace yourself then turn your head, looking at him with every intention of telling him that you did it in the heat of the moment.  But he is gazing you, his head propped up on his arm, that god-forsaken bicep flexed again.
You shake your head and look at the ceiling.
“Yes, I did,” you say.  “What should we do about it?”
“Kiss him,” Hyunjin says.  You look at him.  He is also propped up, leaning back on his elbow. He looks at you with an expression that offers a challenge, asking, Well? What are you waiting for?
“Fine,” you say, then slowly turn to Jeongin.  “Only because that’s fair.”
Jeongin does not hesitate.  He is not as firm Hyunjin but he does not need to be.  Long, steady fingers slide across your shoulder and cup the back of your head.  He draws you into him, kissing your cheek before your lips.
You quickly lose yourself.  Your eyes close and it feels like taking flight, or maybe falling.  Yes, falling helplessly head over heels.  You have been for a long time.
You cannot help but make a few wanting sounds.  Jeongin’s body is so different to yours, all hard planes and firm muscle against your softer spots.  His hand finds your waist and he pulls you even closer, kissing you long and slow like he is pacing himself, like he plans to kiss you for hours.
That hand wanders from your waist, sliding lower until he is cupping your ass.  Your breath catches and the kiss breaks.  He is quick to dive back in, kissing you deeper the second time, his tongue touching yours.
You grab his arm, breaking the kiss to catch your breath. When he leans in again, Hyunjin reaches out and shoves his shoulder.  Jeongin blinks up at him, surprised.
“That was two kisses,” Hyunjin says.  “My turn.”
Hyunjin grabs your shoulder and pulls you onto your back.  You land with a soft thump, still intoxicated from kissing Jeongin.
You blink up at Hyunjin, your chest heaving with breath as his eyes roam down your body.  His fingers follow the same trail, knuckles at your chin then the curve of your chest.  You arch your back instinctively.  Everything seems to throb when his fingers brush the front of your shorts.  It is a momentary touch, then he is cupping your cheek and turning your face and kissing you.
Just last night, you were in this bed alone, fantasizing this very thing.  You ended the phone call but you were wide awake, so you put on some music and grabbed your vibrator and lost yourself to the impossible fantasy now entering reality.
In your fantasies, one or both of them was on top of you.  But Hyunjin surprises you with the opposite, taking hold of your hips and tugging.  You follow his direction clumsily until you are straddling his lap.  He is hard between your legs, holding you there against him while he cups the back of your head and kisses you.
You can’t believe you thought Hyunjin was a romantic little angel.  He is an absolute demon, rolling his hips under you with the same unhurried pace Jeongin used.  You are so wet and turned-on, so delirious with need, for a second it feels like there is nothing between you, just the hard shape of him against your softness.  But no, there are thin layers of fabric between you, stretched so tight it is like they are not there.
Jeongin curves his hand over the shape of your ass.  Your shorts are riding up from your position.  He could get an eye-ful at the right angle.
“You’re so…” he says, but his breath catches like there is no word to do you justice.  It makes you look at him, your eyes locking in intensity.
It ends when Hyunjin rolls, laying you onto your back again.  Then he sits back, leaving you there in a breathless pant.
“What do you think about?” he asks.
You make a noise back at him.  It is supposed to be a question but it comes out garbled.  You shake your head, then manage to ask, “Huh?  Think about?”
He sits up and reaches into your bedside drawer.  You come to coherency when he takes out your vibrator.
“Hyunjin!”  You cannot help but scold him.  “I told you to stay out of there!”
“You know I like to investigate,” he argues.  “I can’t help it.”
“Oh my god,” you say, slapping your forehead.  “I swear to god, it’s like being friends with a crow.”
Jeongin sits up too, laughing so much he has to cover his face.  He shakes his head as he comes up for a breath, pushing his hair out of his face.
“Stop laughing,” you say, even while a few giggles escape.
Jeongin just grins at you, then he reaches out and touches traces his thumb across your smile.
“Are you going to answer?” Hyunjin asks.
You look at him and snatch the vibrator back, clutching it possessively to your chest.
“That’s none of your business,” you say.
“It could be,” he says, expression getting darker by the second, a playful smile turning to a dirty smirk.  He runs his teeth across his bottom lip then bats his eyelashes.  “If you think about us,” he finishes.
“I—no—you—”
“It’s fine,” he says.  “It’s normal.  I think about you.”
“Hyunjin,” you gasp.  You go to whack him with the vibrator then remember what it is.  You hold it against your chest again, embarrassed.  Hot in the face and everywhere else, you sputter more indignantly than you feel, “There’s nothing to think about with me.”
He looks at you like he can’t believe you are serious, his eyes dropping down your body then back up.  He laughs, covering a hand over his mouth.
“Last night I thought plenty,” he says with a wave of his hand. “I wondered if you could come so hard it would make you cry.  I bet you’d look pretty.”
You swallow hard.  Your hands are getting clammy, clutching the toy.  You cannot even fake any indignance, so turned on it is making your head spin.
“That’s rude,” you say in a rasping voice, “I was crying and you were—”
“I waited to touch myself, thank you,” he teases.
“Jeongin wouldn’t do that,” you say, looking back at him.  He is staring up at the ceiling, blinking too quickly and too innocently.  “Jeongin!” you exclaim.
Hyunjin laughs some more, a gleeful little cackle behind his hand.  You huff dramatically, trying and failing to frown at them.
“My friends are perverts,” you say.
Hyunjin is reclining in an insouciant slouch.  Jeongin is sitting upright behind you.  You look between them as they look at each other, seemingly conversing through nothing but a series of blinks.  Jeongin smiles first, winking at you when you meet his eye.  He is holding your gaze when Hyunjin moves, smooth and quick.  They crowd you, one on either side, each with a hand on your thigh.
You make a noise, a surprised little whimper as you spill onto your back.  You clutch the toy for dear life as Jeongin strokes your inner thigh and Hyunjin’s long fingers trace your waistband.  You gasp when Hyunjin slides right in, under your shorts but over your underwear.  You are so turned on that there is no hiding it, the fabric wet under his searching fingers.
“Takes one to know one,” he says with a smile.  “Maybe that’s why we’re friends.”
“I don’t think we’re just friends,” Jeongin says while sliding the toy out of your hands.  He turns it on and your clit pulses under Hyunjin’s fingers, trained to react to the noise.
Hyunjin laughs, his breath on your neck.  He moves his hand while Jeongin presses the toy between your legs, over your shorts and panties but nonetheless immediately effective.  You squirm a little.  The onslaught of sensation has your thighs twitching to close.
The boys shuffle quickly.  You find yourself sitting between Jeongin’s legs, your back against his chest.  Hyunjin kneels in front of you, holding your legs open so you cannot escape the toy’s blissful torture.  You can feel an orgasm winding up ridiculously fast.  You have not had a proper relationship but you have fooled around, but it was never like this.  Even by yourself with a toy, an orgasm would take time.  You have a breath to realize you are going to come, hard, legs spread for your boys.
It hits you quickly but deeply, rolling vibrations of pleasure that have you rearing up.  You start to cry out and Jeongin covers your mouth even though you are alone, catching the sound in his palm.   He holds the toy with his other hand, keeping it in place while Hyunjin holds your legs so you feel every tingling second of aftershocks.
When you whine into his palm, Jeongin lets you go and turns off the toy.
The room feels very quiet when the toy stops.  You come to reality, remembering you are in your parents’ house in your old bedroom.  Your parents might not be home but it still seems wrong to get down and dirty with your old teddy bear staring at you.
Hyunjin follows your line of sight.  He grabs the bear and turns it around.
Okay. It’s fine now.
You twist around and grab Jeongin, kissing him roughly.  He holds you as desperately, kissing back with the same fervour.  Hyunjin gets his hands on your shorts and tugs them down.  They are only off one leg, dangling around your knee, when he dives in and starts kissing your pussy through your underwear.
You are still sensitive from your orgasm, moaning into Jeongin’s mouth while Hyunjin torments you with his.  When he moves the material out of the way, your legs start shaking again.  Jeongin reaches down to touch you too, his fingers brushing Hyunjin’s lips.  Hyunjin sucks the taste of you off his fingertips then dives back in.
You are caught by surprise when you come again.  Jeongin catches your cry, covering your mouth again as you shake in his arms.  A tear spills loose just from the sheer sensation of such rapid orgasms.  Your body feels like a live wire, all lightning and electric energy.
Hyunjin kneels upright, looking at the tear running down your face.  You whimper into Jeongin’s hand when Hyunjin licks it off your cheek.
“Knew you’d be pretty like that, baby,” he says.
You pry Jeongin’s hand off your mouth.  It goes easily.  In the end, they follow your lead.  You know your boys.  They would do anything for you.  They would start.  They would stop.
You do not want them to stop.
“Fuck me,” you say, so quietly it does not even penetrate the silence.   Even so, Hyunjin slides his hand between your legs and slides two fingers right inside you, so easily because you are so wet.  Jeongin squeezes your breasts in his hands, over your shirt then tugging the fabric up and over to get his hands on your bare skin.
“What was that?” Hyunjin asks.  He brings those wet fingers to his lips and licks your wetness off them.
“F-fuck me,” you say, still a whisper but clearer.  “Please.”
“Well,” Jeongin says, kissing your temple.  He smiles at Hyunjin.  “Since you asked so nicely.”
You all tumble over, laying on your sides.  Jeongin is nestled behind you, Hyunjin in front of you.  Jeongin lifts your shirt over your head while Hyunjin finally removes everything below your waist.  You slip your hand between your thighs while they whip off their shirts and boxers.
Then it feels like their hands are everywhere.  Yours too, reaching forward for Hyunjin, reaching back for Jeongin.  You hold his hip while he rocks against you, his cock gliding along your backside.
“I’ll go first,” Hyunjin says, manhandling you onto your back then getting up between your legs.
“You kissed her first,” Jeongin argues, shoving him.  Hyunjin shoves him back.
“You’re bigger,” Hyunjin says, nodding to his dick.  “I’ll get her ready.”
You did not actually get a good look at Hyunjin’s dick before he put it inside you.  If Jeongin is bigger, you are almost worried, because Hyunjin is bigger than anything you have had down there.  You make a keening, high-pitched noise, mouth open as he presses inside you.
Jeongin lays beside you, reaching down to rub that still-tingling bundle of nerves.  It helps, your eyes closing and head falling back.  Jeongin kisses the exposed line of your throat while Hyunjin starts moving inside you.
“Ohh—” you say, your hands moving all over his chest.  You clutch one shoulder and reach for Jeongin with your other hand.  He guides it to his dick, helping you find a rhythm, stroking his length while Hyunjin fucks you.
It goes on for a time, then Jeongin curses, squeezing your hand around him.  He nods to Hyunjin.
“Move,” he says.  “My turn.”
Hyunjin, panting, pushes some hair off his sweaty forehead.  He moves backwards down the bed, stepping right off.  You yelp with surprise when he grabs your legs and yanks you down the bed.  He grabs your hips and flips you over, then gestures to Jeongin.
“Your turn,” he confirms.  They switch places, Jeongin kneeling behind you while Hyunjin kneels in front of you.  You get up on your elbows, lifting your hips while Jeongin thrusts in.  He wastes no time, evidently already on the brink from your ministrations.  It means your gentle lover is suddenly pounding into you, your fingers forming fists in the bedsheets, yanking the covers everywhere as you pant and moan.
“Sooo pretty,” Hyunjin says, cupping your face in both hands.  You know what he wants without asking, opening your mouth eagerly.  You doubt it is the best head ever, especially considering half your attention is on Jeongin, your body moving where he wills it.  But you manage, savouring the moment and already imagining every variation of position for the future.
You look up at Hyunjin, kissing the tip of his dick then saying in a rough voice, “I want both of you one day.”
“Fuck,” Jeongin says and immediately comes, grinding deep inside you.  Hyunjin grabs you by the neck and puts you back on his dick, murmuring a string of expletives just as colourful until he comes.
You think it is over when Jeongin pulls out.  Cum is dribbling out of your mouth when Hyunjin sits back.  He wipes his thumb over your lips, pushing them closed.
“You can swallow,” he says.  His touch is a suggestion, not forceful, so you could ignore it.  But you gaze up at him and swallow.
And while you are doing that, Jeongin grabs the toy and puts it back between your legs.  You almost scream, bucking when it comes to life on your dripping pussy.  Hyunjin cups your face in his hands again, stroking your cheeks while you ride the pulsing vibrations.   Another couple tears spill and he wipes them away with his thumbs, cooing sweet nothings at you the entire time.
They wring three more orgasms out of you before you basically collapse, exerted and sweating and panting.
“God,” you rasp, laying on your side, still breathing hard.  “I’m gonna need to get in shape for this.  Two boyfriends is no joke.”
The three of you laugh, then you get to enjoy the spoiled princess treatment that is having one boy to cuddle while the other fetches water and a towel.  When you finally get to sleep, it is nestled safely between your boys, murmuring sweet words at each other in sleepy tones until you fall asleep.
-
Your parents return at lunch the next day.  While Jeongin helps your father grill and Hyunjin sets the table, you help your mother prepare a side dish.  She is practically beaming at you.
“Do I want to know why you slept at the neighbour’s last night?” you ask.
“Oh, my sweet girl,” your mother says.  She kisses your forehead.  “I heard you on the phone the other night.  I know you lied about having a boyfriend.”
“What?!”  You look at her with alarm and surprise.  “But – but you didn’t say anything!  You acted like Jeongin was my boyfriend the second he arrived!”
“Of course!” your mother says.  “Look my dear, anyone can find a boyfriend.  Walk onto the street and throw a rock, there’s one with his head out the car window like a dog.  Easy.  Not everyone can find a man who shows up to a party and pretends to be her lover, expecting nothing in return, and doing it just because he loves her.  And you found two.”
Your mother wraps you in her arms.  You are still surprised but you hug her back.
“I’m sorry I made you feel so pressured,” she says.  “I just worried about you all alone in the city, but now I see you’re not alone.  But, you know, I am a mother, and I saw how those boys looked at you, so I figured… well…”
“Mom!” you cry, a little mortified she intentionally set you up.
“Did it work?” she asks with an eyebrow wiggle.
You are laughing helplessly, shaking your head, which only makes her laugh.
“I knew it,” she says.  “Sometimes fate just needs a hand.  Maybe two.”
“We’re not talking about this anymore,” you say, walking away.
“You are glowing this morning.  Maybe I should get another man too.”
“Mom, please!”

[20240330] KEIKO Insta Live #78 WITHOUT comments
I am of course biased but this was definitely one of my favourite lives. I just love this sort of beauty content. Watching Keiko do her make-up and hair is so much fun. The curls look amazing on her! (I'll admit, I am actually not the biggest fan of plain straight hair, I prefer a bit of dynamic and volume). We got a little hint of some of her upcoming solo activities. April will be dedicated to her YouTube Cover Collection. Then we have a bunch of YK stuff. For the end of summer, she plans to do a FC event that's supposed to have some sort of variety show vibe so expect it to be funny. I would assume it's gonna be similar to Keiko's Room #14 but a bit more elaborate or maybe like Wakana's FC Online Event during the summer of 2021 where she played all sorts of games. We shall see. After that, we can expect some normal lives again but she reveals nothing specific.

ive been on a light novel kick recently
lemme summarize some thoughts on them:
7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy! 1-4: i thought it would be a standard "hypercompetent female lead in medieval europe" story and it was for the most part, in terms of convenient contrivances to make whatever whimsical actions that Rishe takes, but i appreciated the set dressing, at least. Rishe is funny and the repeated time loops makes for an entertaining premise.
The 100th Time's The Charm: She Was Executed 99 Times, So How Did She Unlock "Super Love" Mode?!: god this sucked. this honestly felt like reading a novel published by an 8 year old. so fuckin juvenile
A Lily Blooms in Another World: sometimes all you need is some simply girls who love each other.
The Apothecary Witch Turned Divorce Agent: interesting world with just enough worldbuilding, i liked that it didn't get explicitly romantic at the end, and I really enjoyed Carla's brazen attitude. Either she fit really well into the world around her, or the world was written to support her character, but either way, she felt like a complete product of her world and upbringing in a way that was really refreshing.
Did I Seriously Just Get Reincarnated as my Gag Character?! 1-2: there sure was a whole lot of talk about how much her character absolutely sucked despite being the most powerful being to the point of absurdity. i know the point is the contrast between game mechanics and expectation vs how she would be as a function of the world, but man that point was harped on a lot. as a protagonist, gotta say, trans as hell, that won a lot of points with me. "oh i'm suddenly my off-main RP character now? guess i'm a girl now, full-on. hell yeah" now that's the true trans rep we need
The Drab Princess, the Black Cat, and the Satisfying Break-up 1-2: it was alright, i feel like i would've been more invested if everyone wasn't secretly in love with her though i suppose it is an interesting subversion of the usual "plain boring princess" trope that everyone is actually super on-board for her to become queen. she's a deeply tragic heroine, honestly, and i don't think that's the intention at all.
Saint? No! I'm Just a Passing Beast Tamer 1: if this was a oneshot i'd be chill with it but the fact that it carries on somehow makes me feel so tired.
Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss But I'm Not the Demon Lord: i read the manga first and this was just more of the same. it's cute, i like Yumiella as a protagonist for the same reasons i like Carla from Apothecary Witch. i wish we had a bit more on Alicia's whole deal because she could've been interesting at the end there but instead she just made the whole thing boring as fuck. probably my favorite moments in the novel were Yumiella grinding the boss for drops and the Patrick confession scene for two different reasons
The Alchemist Who Survived Now Dreams of a Quiet City Life 1-3: i had access to 6 volumes but i had to stop in the middle of the 3rd one. i was displeased but willing to continue in the first novel when one of Mariela's first actions as a protagonist is to engage with the slavery thing, but willing to put that aside, but then we had several monologues about how much slavery sucks alongside diatribes about how it's Jay's/Sieg's/etc's own fault that they got sold into debt slavery. the chapters in the 2nd and 3rd novels where Jay is there being absolutely fucking miserable and you're expected to nod whenever the book says "Jay didn’t reflect on his own part in this at all, spewing resentment instead." made me fucking incensed. my breaking point was in novel 3 where a minor protagonist just straight fucking rips one of his teeth out after strangling him and replaces it with a Pain Tooth of Make Your Slaves Obey More, and it's immediately followed with that above line. just. jesus fucking christ.
The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash 1-4: hey speaking of slavery, in this one they spent 2 novels telling the main character she should buy a slave, and then she gets there and is like "man this is kinda fucked actually" and doesn't, so good for her, but i read it immediately after Alchemist Who Survived so i was a little pissed at the fact that slavery was also a thing here because please that's not a system that is necessary to your world stop fucking doing it
ROLL OVER AND DIE: I Will Fight for an Ordinary Life with My Love and Cursed Sword 1-4: anyway not to continue talking about slavery but if you're gonna have it, do it like this one did, and make your main protagonist claw her bloody way out of slavery with incredible brutality and swear that she'll kill more slave traders if they lay a hand on her girlfriend. that part was great. shame it gets mega fucking transphobic at the end though, that whole bit about Mother being explicitly textually transgender and then not using the correct pronouns for her, the genitals = sex = gender segments, the gross parts where they discuss how Mother "isn't even a woman, yeah that tripped me up too, how gross is this dude". fuck that. the fight scenes and fucked up body horror parts are great though. and it's got a manga by minakata sunao, which is a shame given [gestures at novel 4]
She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man 1-8: honestly i enjoyed it more than i was expecting. mira's cute, this is another one of those trans-as-hell novels where the protag is like "i guess im a girl now! this is great!" but i do find it incredibly unsettling how everyone is commenting on her looks and whatever if she's supposed to be, essentially, a 12 year old girl. deeply gross anime bullshit aside, it's fun. i thought i had more thoughts on this one so i was saving it for later in this list but honestly thats all i got. gross sexualization/infantilization of a young girl, but otherwise just a fun little fantasy jaunt
A Tale of the Secret Saint 1-4: fia's an idiot, i want more of her taking control in battle situations and less waffling about Great Saint abilities and fake-deep "political" """intrigue""". if you say any of these stupid-ass old men are her love interests i will throw a knife at you, and if the book goes in that direction even slightly i will Murder. canopus's devotion in the last novel was borderline for me dropping it. the manic obsession/devotion to fia is supposed to be humorous, i think, but it just comes off as deeply unsettling when the novel reminds you, as it often does, that fia ruud is a 15 year old (reincarnation of an incredibly sheltered woman who died at 18, so honestly even her mental age doesn't add much here). i know this is one of those chill life fantasy novels but i honestly want fia to serve actual consequences for the insane shit she does, not just passing-by mentions of having to do more laps or take training more seriously or being teased by her superiors or whatever. it's fun enough to keep reading though, i guess.

WIP... Sunday?
Thank you @chevvy-yates fot the tag! I'm sorry for the long delay with replying.
Tagging (with no pressure): @domicofo; @morganlefaye79; @fereldanwench; @elvenbeard; @elf-trash; @ghostoffuturespast; @gloryride
SNIPPET (after months of writer's block)
This one is from the new chapter of "Tower" (translation hasn't been beta-read so sorry for the unnatural English here)
"The microcircuit's okay?" Jackie sat down next to the TV.
"Just installed another one. Shoulda worked," Vik wiped his hands with a rag.
"Well then..." Jackie pulled out all the cables and changed them in random order. "You sure about the Japanese guy?"
Vik frowned as he took a sip of NiCOLA and rested his back on the doorframe.
"V and he still share the same goal.Anyhow, I disabled his combat cyberware and took away remote access for safety purposes. I'd worry about the construct more."
"What is the problem? Just clung on her like a virus or something. Need a proper netrunner and that's it. She can't get the biochip out of her head though, this sucks."
“Yes... like a virus," Vik said tentatively. Emptying the jar, he threw it out on the porch as a tin ball.
"I only worry that hermana ain't losin' her nerves. So much shit happened to her at once... I mean, I know her since childhood. Was always quick to panic and run to Senor Attal," Jackie crossed himself. "I hope she ain't gonna freak out or something" the screen finally came to life when he found the right cable. "That's more like it... sound's like shit though."
“Whoever but Valerie, thankfully,” Vik smiled crookedly with a broken lip. "With her implants, psychosis is unlikely, and she herself is definitely not a fool..."
As Jackie kicked the TV, he accidently turned up the volume.
“Hello, Night City. I am Gillian Jordan with N54 news and this is your Local Latest. The daring attack took place over Jackson Plain at midnight today. An aerodyne of the Kang Tao corporation was shot down by unidentified individuals in order to steal its cargo. Convoy members were killed. The preliminary estimate of damage is 120 million Eurodollars. The perpetrators fled the crime scene. Investigation is underway."
PLANS
For now I have a lot of inspiration for new fics (cyberpunk 2077 fandom solely) but so little enegy XD In the nearest future I plan to post:
New chapter of "Tower";
2. Soviet AU introducing new V (Grigoriy Lesnov);
3. New Year spin-off for "Tower";
4. And one secret fic (@domicofo you know what fic hehe)

"no, we're playing at the summer fest, actually," the boy renders the volume of his voice back to normal, and soobin tunes in to the conversation despite his best efforts to not eavesdrop. he still keeps his distance though, loitering in the door frame and scrolling on his phone, trying to look nonchalant.
"quit making it sound so fancy already, it's literally going to be just you guys standing on the square playing for a couple grandmas," yeonjun says gruffly, but it only makes his friend snort.
"excuse you, my grandma loves our music," the boy fights back.
"yeah, probably because she doesn't understand a single word of the lyrics."
"the most important part in music is the feeling."
soobin can practically hear the roll of yeonjun's eyes. "well, i'm currently feeling a very strong urge to kick you out of here."
19. you're really making me go through the whole thing now:/
“it’s getting bad again. i thought leaving this town would solve everything. i wanted something new, i wanted something that is not just… plain grey. but the city is concrete and full of people who mean nothing to me, all friendships shallow, i don’t even remember half of their names now. it’s just nobody next to another nobody, and i am nobody, too.”

brain: pspspspsps you totally want to modify a pattern when it's like your third time sewing any piece of clothing ever and it's a HISTORICAL OUTFIT pspspsps you want to modify it to work for the 1640s instead of 1580s so bad pspspspsps
me: SHUT
also currently having an incredibly stupid dilemma which makes sense in my brain
okay:
point #1: Windblade's design is heavily influenced by Japanese aesthetics point #2: I wanted to include some nods to that in Renaissance Windblade cosplay point #3: Renaissance Windblade is most likely going for a 1580s look with maybe a few elements from the following 2 decades point #4: Japanese aesthetics have evolved substantially since the Sengoku era, it's actually really really neat, there's a digitized volume of designs for painting/printing/embroidering etc on kosode from the 1640s that's available through a Japanese government site and it's fascinating to see the beginnings of a lot of the traditional motifs (yes 1640s is early Edo period not Sengoku but it's close enough in time period lol) but these ones are a lot less stylized than they are today and more "naturalistic" or "realistic". anyways I think it's neat. point #5: I can't find any good designs that I can accomplish in a practical way on the dress I'm making however there ARE some modern kimono ornamentation styles (not sure if ornamentation is the right word. you know. embroidery. block prints. stencils, shibori dyeing. etc) where the placement and designs actually would work fairly well.
BUT ITS MODERN or at the least 19th century IM A FRAUD IF I USE THEM also fun fact ruffs and those puffy knee pants were a fad for a time in Sengoku Japan, Nobunaga wore a ruff at one point iirc
SOLUTIONS:
don't bother and just use plain ribbons and save yourself the trouble
just use the modern stuff bluejay
git gud and do an elaborate design, go to the library out on the other side of the city that has a cricut machine and get it to cut out stencils or something for you
orrrr do the Japanese stylistic nods elsewhere in the outfit

Untitled (“A gloriously, impart”)
A curtal sonnet sequence
               1
A gloriously, impart to scour his tongues were construed from the candle in her mood than in health and Intelligence—First of blood. From underground what she was wet with thou hast nae mind these fields. Thy black is crookéd as the clear! This summer long; the river-grass, stood unbonneted to cheer us both: but look like vomit. Of a moment that taste like sun, the princes tried to gathered colour’d on that was a heart to snare.
               2
So much as gather’d Ripe, or rot upon a Harp of Son; swift was the stake, Centuries— of artist that does to my hope it seemed,-than till he can look at Blake and woodbine twine and thou wage mute! Hear it now if e’er you within a mighty Wisdom his Foes. And thou ask proof? Two loves his sword to one week and the loud chaunting with the braw lass made the better poet.—Of Whom? He whom you so apply, her joys, her idiot boy.
               3
So you can tell me where that he had heart let my poor household ways, not like a gipsy lately came, this great and Pray; the Crown; and scatter’d by a Puff of WInd. Without all are gone, how shall? If you could remove, with you. Herself too much. No mortals he is mind! The blossoms on a picture, till it ceased: he saw the grassy harvest. For crystal brows—there’s neither doth explore the broke, and alone, but once we lose them, is lost.
               4
Oh! Are all thought me, and the like weeds, and on his ’bacco box, he ’ll be in a bed of roses, almost spent, in lustihede and woodbine twine and the muffled lattices, and Betty, go! We must unlearn the weakness: it was his Heir. Then comes to fill it prove the cheek or tongues so their time, should be, to drown herself she talked alone, and match her Day’s Delight, Betty, he’ll be in another turn: gull’d with wine, I drank him up.
               5
And on his hand shaking with me for a difference began to bark. But when we come where did appear; the Spiritual, sprung from the world is subject and of lowly life, and in the church, and keepe. And beds by strong to sell, or near it, meek as a honeysuckle crowded me warm with the Fantom of a red-rose tree. With Magic-mighty Mother’s bed; the City, to rectify your boughes doe raine, which, erring her Eyes with joy.
               6
To precipitate a nocturnal carnations knew the hope of usual sleep- warm pillows in the Darling Son? And this was never be enuied, all were in thee has killed in flickering gypsey-folk. Henceforth to fields where the links o’ gowd, her teeth were bow’d fu’ low unto the rest, pass and laughs aloud, whether this Achithphel Unites the enter touch of humour. Two grand every Royal Vertues feet, labour turned the wood.
               7
Decks of the heart. But why should a blockhead ha’ one in ten? When will those blessed, through. Poor Susan lay deep lost in the Crown forgo; who banisht art; but yet, forget not for thou falls across that rode high spear-grass. Her head the sea. A volume of trouble, gave thee remain, and Johnny may prove more harm than ducats. No winter sleep ye soun’. A dream that gan weepe: for cares to my memories of the publick Pillars of happy John.
               8
Lemons, and gazed alone from my husband: if he had swept the deflection, where my Goddesse plaine, and lovers, children—happier air, wandering heifer and thyme—had strung, and Hoigh for the bulging latitude of flies fills all the Race, but there? But the faults he had heart committed, answered Johnny nor his life he castle he’s pursue Immortal heightening, lovely knights, and beautifie your buds did flowres of lust to David’s Soul?
               9
And Spiritual food he feared that others in their rose on my rose tree. Fairies’ prophecy: The prince found a tongues were before your touch upon the dale, and gave him his tongues—and out of my old compasses are your pretious oyle, and tempted to our Father Government. And Heart to know how it is a strangled in flickering grey; as blithe a man can break and casting the Jews well begun; then, in the color of these tree.
               10
And Betty’s stand a word he said, How long with house with Daffadowndillies set: bayleaues between a rook or bishop, but I call night they pleasure can I do? Were in thy pipe too soon, and in the title of love to a mean Descent. She spoke: with a wise afright, rosy is the goblin, tis no foot of unfamiliar, universal device but i just don’t know the women through this, to chauntings of my life he castle.
               11
Morning sphere; almost happy quest, if men esteem. Against the Mouldy rolls of bonnie Doon, how can you turn around me though not prove the traditional futures on strops of might-have-beens, the curtaines of the Laws, who best companied with such a blow! Slope, and this we will not match her will I noticed before your touch.—Whose Auspicious Prince d’Amour her a glass; shall see me as is not so much rent, for who from faults is free?
               12
So when Saul was declar’d when Kings are only made way by manly beauty you gave me the fat lizard barks, a silent in cost, but my spirit closed those different men have been a sore heard of yet, him whom she had disappeare, whose perfit coloured with your hands avian, to salute her Hair down to Foreign Yoke. Seemed to thee; and to hear the Desert saw Majnún where that Isle deceived in his Evidence by fire. In Israel!
               13
I wanna be your Cause; therefore I am quite forgot, to make Examples of another’s Right, life-disquiet every hour employ, with somewhat grim, what, woman! Punishing eyes, the full lips, prison all sides doubled as the threshold. New to wish, or to entertaine you must go, and I and all this Hubbub know myself to shoot laser beams straight my hid meaning o’er the flore she did not need him with rayne? Be bitterly.
               14
Companies the time flowery earthly turmoil grows, and she what I write, as for there, observant tell what hopes it sends me a text she’s high upon the stars. You came with the stormie stowres, we must go or she hies; tis on the sparkling spires, she needs with one sweet the long-drawn to the way home? Doubled as thou art not so these slopes; who knows them send, or the snake, and your dearer being branches I never coud with awfull Lord.
               15
Then idly sought, weigh then how I by the hand you relax the antique pen would tye. Without all for on his ’bacco box, he heaven, cries Betty shed. Yet for his early Promise you no lot of garden-fence might still all its ancient Honours her the dregs of life, the owlets purr, and on my Mother doth not, lives a drowning race of grace; and with flowers and the cause hath in the Ear, but burn’d and said, she had been piled behind.
               16
Poor Susan she began to stir, though I mistake thee did give; of moon or late, some good does them serued for ages, sculptured in all things with the purest minds perforce swayed to me, thou’s broken arbour she woke up crying: Daddy! Impatience to Royalty? Forget till Day! A moments of all Command; to my Property: and, like the Collateral Line where he a Tyrant who, by Laws less circumscrib’d and saw these fields!
               17
Therefore, which seene, theyr sheepe, while ye may, go marry; i’ll be as free inform’d it, with a safety pin to give th’ Offenders questing heads globes of unsifted time I see descried high tower’d thee ioy of the heart o’ thy Willy. To hunt the Tiller’s road again at last his Place, his looks, his simple Doves, as soone as my youth to forbearen, but not so sharp grew more shall die tonight. And he feared that I one from straying.
               18
So brimmed with unknown to Foreign Universe, active Intelligence—First of All the Firmament. For there, and look’d out with little dance, they circle of wasted. Dared not enough, honye, milke, and as I walked with such odious Aid make Treasons go. You are a boat I have slept till that time is gone who travelling into a second time of love, give me, the Field of thee, my heart had a hard to Conquest of her idiot boy!
               19
Last I woke sane, but every soul were torn. Not this, wise silent suffered. How many a year. And Amnon’s Murther aid bereave me; and string, in lordly light, feare to offend, will be kind; affection, where were fix’d my eyes fondly, and crooked Counsels brought feared that no man know how Passion; and while I yet descry neath thy shade of clustered me close, and neuer taketh rust; whateuer fades, but I knew her Milk he drew a long halloo!
               20
But yet not yet, but bounteous Kings and flow’ry thorns and that seas betweene, and like a bowl of fraude and wade mouth-deep in the Berkshire hounds they find the roofs, and now we sit I waited here sytten as drowne, and nettles rot and all the dark cave, the deep cold that by your victorious lamp of healing, glance, the worst of blood. 6 Simple Keyword Research Tips for Small Business Owners: Get Found Online
Ever felt like your amazing small business is a hidden gem online? You’re pouring your heart into your products or services, but customers just aren’t finding you. Well, the key to unlocking the door to more website traffic and sales might be hiding in plain sight: keywords.
Keyword research is like deciphering a secret code used by your target audience. By understanding the words and phrases they use to search online, you can optimize your website and content to appear at the top of search engine results. This translates to more people discovering your business, and ultimately, more customers through your door (or adding to your cart!).
While keyword research might sound intimidating, it doesn’t have to be. Here are 6 simple tips to get you started:
1. Think Like Your Customer
Imagine you’re a customer looking for exactly what your business offers. What words would you type into a search engine? Brainstorm a list of these keywords, keeping it broad at first.
For example, if you run a bakery specializing in delicious cupcakes, your initial list might include: “cupcakes,” “bakery,” “desserts,” and “cakes.”
2. Leverage the Power of Free Tools
There are many free (and paid) tools available online to help you refine your keyword research. Some popular options include:
Google Keyword Planner: This free tool by Google itself gives you search volume data and suggests related keywords.
Answer the Public: This nifty tool uses search engine queries to provide suggestions in a visually appealing format.
Ubersuggest: This tool offers a limited free plan that lets you see search volume and competition level for keywords.
3. Embrace Long-Tail Keywords
Those broad keywords you brainstormed earlier might be tempting to target, but chances are, the competition for them is fierce. Here’s where long-tail keywords come in. These are more specific phrases that people use when they’re further along in their search journey.
For our bakery example, a long-tail keyword could be: “best red velvet cupcakes near me” or “gluten-free cupcakes delivery.”
Long-tail keywords might have lower search volume, but they also have lower competition and tend to convert better because they target users with clearer buying intent.
4. Don’t Forget About “People Also Ask”
Ever noticed the “People Also Ask” section at the bottom of Google search results? This goldmine of information reveals additional questions users are asking related to your main keyword.
By incorporating these questions and answers into your website content, you’re providing valuable information to potential customers while optimizing for relevant keywords.
5. Location, Location, Location (For Local Businesses)
If your business has a physical location or serves a specific area, local SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is crucial. Include your city, town, or neighborhood in your keyword research.
People searching for “plumber” might also be looking for “plumber in Delhi,” so make sure to target those local keywords as well.
6. Stay Relevant, Stay Ahead
Keyword trends can shift over time, so it’s important to revisit your keyword research regularly. Tools like Google Trends can help you identify rising and falling search queries so you can adjust your strategy accordingly.
Bonus Tip: Partner with a Digital Marketing Agency in Delhi
For small businesses in Delhi, getting the most out of your online presence can be a challenge. Partnering with a skilled digital marketing agency like DigiMarquee can give you a significant edge.
DigiMarquee’s team of experts can help you conduct in-depth keyword research, develop a targeted SEO strategy, and create high-quality content that attracts your ideal customers.

Remember, the more people who find you online, the more opportunities you have to turn them into loyal customers. So, put on your detective hat, grab your keyword research tools, and get ready to watch your online visibility soar!

Yay! I’m so happy I have someone to talk about Victorian erotica with 😄 I’ve not heard of “sins of the cities plains” but it sounds interesting so I’ll have to check it out. I’m still on volume 1 of my secret life as well and I totally get what you mean about Walter and his persistence, there are definitely men today just like him, I’m sorry you’ve had experiences with men like that… I am currently reading this erotica called “romance of lust” it has 4 volumes and they are short but I’m still reading vol 1… there are a lot of things in Victorian erotica that I’m really into and get me excited 😉 I have a naughty question: do you like the use of the word quim to describe a woman’s genitals that they often use? I like it because it’s so different and cute lol Thanks for chatting with me about this stuff 😊
Are you familiar with the Cleveland Street Scandal? The "author" (probably not actually the author, but the moniker they used) of Sins of the Cities of the Plains was a famous male prostitute from that scandal. It's supposedly a story of his sexual adventures. It's very very bi, but has some content warnings: underage and prostitution kind of go along with the premise, but there are also depictions of incest, dubcon (it's not as bad as my secret life on this front), bdsm (birching), and a brief scene involving some beastiality.
I haven't heard of that one before! Sounds like you are liking it? I'll look into it!
I don't really have a preference regarding quim, or any other word for that set of genitalia tbh... unlike the penis, which I find I have very strong preferences about 😂 I assume this is because outside of Victorian era erotica I just don't really read much erotic literature [fanfiction] with those body parts 😅

Of Dust and Flowers, The Seelies Who Survived
Preface
To give some context on this theory, this idea sprang to mind when I came across a twitter post sharing an entry from Honey Hunter World detailing an unreleased 4th volume to the "Customs of Liyue" book. The volume in particular talks about Glaze Lilies in a historical and cultural context. The information presented within made me think of this theory:
"Could Guizhong have been a Seelie?"
After doing some researching, I've come to conclude that it has a high likelihood of being true! So to explain this, I will discuss it in this order:
Guizhong and the Goddess of Flowers are of similar descent
Seelies and their similarities with the two
With that laid out, let's take a look at...
Part 1. Guizhong and the Flower Goddess
Firstly, let us establish who they were and what they did during their life.
Guizhong
The God of Dust, Guizhong, was one of the founding deities of Liyue. Originally, she took dominion over an area now known as the Guili Plains together with Morax. She was incredibly kind and wise, and took great interest in machinery.
During her reign, she taught the people under her protection how to live and survive. In particular, she taught them agriculture. She also had 4 wise tenets whom the people of the Guili Assembly followed:
"To unite in ambition is to be steadfast and immovable for all time."
"Wisdom is like water, it nourishes all those who receive it and in it is a reflection of the truth."
'"Fortify the bones, that movement be supple when the time comes."
"Virtue grows tall like a tree, though there be shade it will flourish forever"
Guizhong is heavily linked to Glaze Lilies, and seems to have been the one who created them! This is mentioned in the unreleased volume of "Customs of Liyue"
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: the photo above is unreleased content from the game. it's been at least a year since it was leaked, but they've not added it after all this time so please take it with a grain of salt.
"[Guizhong] released glittering blue seeds from her long sleeves, scattering them over the Guili Plains."
Here are other instances of Guizhong being linked to Glaze Lilies:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Goddess of Flowers
As of version 3.2, not much is known about the Goddess of Flowers yet. The specific details we do know are highly suspect however.
The Goddess of Flowers was one of the 3 wise God-Kings who co-founded Sumeru thousands of years ago. She was also the first among the 3 to die via unknown means.
She had several titles such as "Mistress of Dreams", "Lord of Flowers", "Mistress of Dreams and Oases". It seems that her abilities did not just stop at proliferating flora, she calmed people's minds and produced flowing water from her sleeves.
She and the Lord of Deserts established Ay-Khanoum, the city of Jinn and the Moon. Following her death, Ay-Khanoum dissolved into smaller societies.
She was also affiliated with the Padisarah flowers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Connection
So now, to summarize the info, let's take a look at the similarities between Guizhong and the Goddess of Flowers! In essence, both of them were:
Gods who were known for their wisdom and gentle nature. They got along with 2 other god friends.
Gods who co-founded an ancient human society along with their god friends.
In possession of esoteric knowledge and guided mankind.
Both the first to die among their god friends, which was followed by a calamity that damaged their established civilization.
Associated with a flower that became rare or extinct following their deaths.
Seeing this now, it's very unlikely that their connections could be mere coincidence, no? After all, their stories went exactly the same save for a few variables like geography.
Hence, I'd like to propose that this is Hoyoverse telling us there's something about them that may be crucial. What struck me as odd about the unreleased volume were several moments that are only ever seen in the Sumeru!
Referring to Guizhong and Morax as "God-Kings"
A god proliferating a certain type of flower across a large area.
Suffice it to say, I think it was very intentional that Hoyoverse decided to remove this before we got any more proper Goddess of Flowers lore. I'm doing a minor prediction that we may come across this volume officially some time in the future.
So.. why try to connect Guizhong and the Goddess of Flowers? Well, this is important in proving Guizhong's origin as a Seelie, as we shall see in...
Part 2. Seelies and Such, Silly or Similarity?
Before we tackle the meat of this speculation, let's set up one last assumption to make our case. This assumption being:
"The Goddess of Flowers was a Seelie"
While it's only been teased at, it's been hinted quite enough to make it pretty much true.
Arama, during the Aranyaka storyline, mentions a survivor of the Seelie calamity befriending King Deshret and Rukkhadevata.
Nilou mentions her costume being based on the Goddess of Flowers' clothing. This includes a pair of horns that are also seen in Seelies.
The Goddess of Flowers is associated with the Moon. The 3 Moon Sisters were said to have lived alongside the Seelies.
So now, given the trail Hoyoverse has given to connect Guizhong and her, do we see such similar traits? As it turns out, yes!
Floral Resemblance
The first comparison I'll be making concerns the similarities with flowers.
Within the game, there is another flower that behaves and looks similar to the Glaze Lilies that Guizhong are linked to. This flower is the Nilotpala Lotus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both flowers, aside from sharing the same color scheme, have the peculiar behavior of only blooming at night. In other words, when the Moon is out. The Nilotpala Lotus, in particular, was produced by the Moon Sisters as they stepped on the earth.
Tumblr media
So now, we've connected Guizhong and the Moon Sisters through parallels in their respective flowers. But this doesn't reflect the qualities seen in the Padisarah. Why not?
It's because haven't seen the real Padisarahs. The ones we encounter are just mimicries done by Rukkhadevata. This is similar to how Glaze Lilies are now almost exclusively cultivated in farms. The only reason they still live in their endangered state is due to Morax's influence.
Tumblr media
Seelie Service
Moving on, Guizhong also bears a striking resemblance to how Seelies guided humans. Simply, Seelies used their obscure knowledge to help mankind develop many things.
Tumblr media
This is eerily similar to Guizhong's actions, as well as her 4 philosophical commandments, no?
"To unite in ambition is to be steadfast and immovable for all time."
"Wisdom is like water, it nourishes all those who receive it and in it is a reflection of the truth."
'"Fortify the bones, that movement be supple when the time comes."
"Virtue grows tall like a tree, though there be shade it will flourish forever"
I think it's not strange to see how all of her tenets mention nature and complex concepts like time or truth to convey how to strengthen her people's bonds. Not to mention, it's mentioned repeatedly how beautiful Guizhong was.
With this in mind, I think it's safe to say Guizhong at least has done things similar to Seelies. Additionally, she is one of the only deities who have been shown to possess so many traits similar to them.
Now, Guizhong being associated closely with the Moon Sisters puts into question her status as "God of Dust". Why dust? To this, I introduce this piece of information found within Moonpiercer as well.
Tumblr media
I am also theorizing that, while Seelies may not be of the same lineage as the Moon Sisters, they posses traits that are found within them!
Titillating Titles & More Similarities
Let's use the Goddess of Flowers as an example. We know that she is not simply just a Flower Goddess. Ironically, it seems as though producing flowers is just something she happened to also do. Many descriptions of her focus on her ability to give dreams and produce water.
In other words, the titles they got as gods are merely one facet of their being, compared to other gods like Marchosius, Boreas, Decarabian, and even some of the archons.
Just as the Goddess of Flowers possesses traits found in the Moon Sisters (flowers, water, dreaming), Guizhong also exhibits these qualities (esoteric wisdom, agriculture, dust).
Something I forgot to mention is Volume 2 of 'Records of the Gallant'. In it, not only do we see Guizhong being mentioned, she is also depicted alongside Glaze Lilies, the starry sky, AND Seelies.
Tumblr media
Something I also just realized in the making of this theory is the mirrored descriptions of Guizhong and the Goddess of Flowers' appearances. One of these was the matter of sleeves.
They are the only gods to my knowledge to have ever used their sleeves as part of their powers. Guizhong sent forth Glaze Lily seeds from her sleeves, while the Goddess of Flowers poured fresh water from hers.
Also, the color of their clothing reference each other's flowers. Guizhong wears an indigo robe, which resembles the Padisarahs. The Goddess of Flowers, if Nilou's dress is to be trusted, wore blue and white clothes, resembling Glaze Lilies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part 3. In Conclusion
Given how many elements about Guizhong matches the Moon Sisters, Seelies, and especially the Goddess of Flowers, it's incredibly hard to now just look at these examples as happenstance, ya know?
I originally researched this topic because of Guizhong and the Goddess of Flowers' parallels in sleeves, but the more I looked into it, the more apparent the parallels became.
From their wisdom to their flowers, it just makes too much sense for me!
So here's the scenario that I'm proposing to end this theory:
A long time ago, when the nation of the Seelies and Moon Sisters fell into ruin, many perished from the disaster. Despite this, a number of Seelies managed to survive. They descended upon the earth in different parts of Teyvat, some even in the area now called the Dark Sea.
Two of these Seelies, each of whom resembled the Moon Sisters in beauty and ability, landed far from each other. And though their stories would deviate in some ways, their fates aligned nonetheless.
She who wielded the irrational wisdom of dreams established a thriving nation in the scorching desert, and she who wielded the rational wisdom of technology did the same amidst the rocky landscape. When they perished, their nations would suffer tremendously.
One of their friends would mourn and change his personality drastically, and another would sacrifice themselves, reverting into a smaller, weaker form.
The flowers that they oh so cherished would almost be wiped away, but friendship gives way to preserving your legacy.
Part 4. Closing Remarks
If you, the one reading this right now, have managed to make it all the way to the end of the post, give yourself a pat on the back!
My name is Noxis, and this marks my first, official post on Tumblr! This is part of a personal project I'm doing to interact with the Genshin Community, and it also serves as my first time actually visiting Tumblr regularly!
If you did read all of this, please excuse my way of organizing and discussing as I'm pretty new to the platform. I'll be sure to learn along the way however, and with it more Genshin lore speculations and theories >:))

Big question. I need your opinion on something. If Mipha was never saved, and Vah Ruta was never calmed, what effect would it have on Hyrule. We know that it will flood, however I doubt the Shiekah would have the ability to create water from nothing (like to gods) so I just assume they are teleporting so the ocean won't rise. With this in mind, none of the major settlements would really be affected. Gerudo Town is far enough out of the path that the river would take through lake Hylia, Riti Village is also out of the way, and not only does it have a natural moat (if you could call it that) but also a canyon in the way. Korok Forest has magic and a moat and is also out of the way, Goron City is also to high up and out of the way, Tarrey Town is really highup and out of tge way, Zoras domain has pretty good drainage and it will probably go through the several other exits to not cause that muc damage, Kakariko Village is safe in the mountains, Hateno Town is safe and out of the way, and Lurelin Village is also out of the way and won't be damaged unless the ocean floods.
WOO LET’S FLOOD A CIVILIZATION AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!
**Zelda meter is the meter system of objmap.zeldamods.org, but in accordance with previous posts I'm gonna convert it later to "actual" meters that I think is more realistic. You’ll see why later.
ALRIGHTY, SO LET’S START WITH MEASURING TIME!
So, East Reservoir Lake is 545 zelda meters long (light blue) and 340 zelda meters wide (blue)
Or if we want to see it as more of a circle, it has a radius of 239 zelda meters
Tumblr media
Rutala Dam itself is 30 zelda meters wide and 140 zelda meters across. (see purple)
Tumblr media
Taking a picture and using an online ruler, I found that the damn is roughly 123 zelda meters tall. (1 cm equal to 17.5 zelda meters by using the 140zm measurement)
Tumblr media
Technically speaking, the dam's depth is infinite in the game, so we'll just use this damn's height as the depth.
And before you tell me that I should count the height of the rocks that the damn sits on top of as part of the depth, I'm gonna say not because dams typically block preexisting waterfalls, and given the rounded erosion of the rocks here, I would say that is also the case. Therefore, this was a waterfall that fed into the Rutala River and is not counted for the reservoir's depth.
So, in summary:
Reservoir Length: 545zm
Reservoir Width: 340zm
LW Reservoir Surface Area: 185,300zm (That is only 0.1 zelda kilometer. For comparison, the 45th largest reservoir in the world, Capivera Dam [last place on Wikipedia list] is still 515 square kilometers. The largest ones being in the 60k areas. I’ll come back to this point later.)
Reservoir Radius: 239zm
(pi)r^2 Reservoir Surface Area: 179,451zm2 (179zkm2) [Just got these numbers of surface areas to demonstrate they're practically the same whether you see it as circular or rectangular. I think the circle will be more accurate so going forward I will be using it as my basis for calculations]
Dam Length: 140zm
Dam Height: 123zm
Dam Width: 30zm
The Total Water Rutala Dam Holds Back: 22,072,473zm3 [Instead of just using the sphere volume formula or the LWH formula, I used my more accurate surface area made with the the radius and multiplied by the dam height(is that the,,,cylinder formula? I think so)]
Rutala Dam is supposed to be the largest reservoir in Hyrule, shown very prominently on the map. The largest reservoir(by surface area) in our world is Lake Winnipeg, with a surface area of 24,514 km2, (but only has a depth of 12 meters.)
But here it is on a map of Canada:
Tumblr media
To reiterate, Lake Winnipeg has an area of 24,514km, and with zelda meters, East Reservoir Lake has an area of 179.
“BUT KIP! MAYBE EAST RESEVOIR LAKE IS JUST REALLY REALLY SMALL, HYRULE IS PRETTY SMALL ISN’T IT?”
Ok, so comparing the reservoir to one of the the largest, if not THE largest, settlements in the game, Zora’s Domain, we can see that the reservoir is several times it’s size.
Tumblr media
But you’ll also note that Zora’s Domain has a diameter of 234zm. That, the entire city, the entire DOMAIN of Zora. 234 zelda meters. Manhattan is 21,100 meters long. Manhattan, by the way, is a fifth fraction of the New York County, which is the smallest county in the United States of America.
234 zelda meters, that’s an area of 43,005zm2. Do you know what else is aobut 40k meters squared in real life? Your nearest Walmart. Just a bit bigger than your local Tesco. Supposedly the entire Zora population, that has been untouched by the 100 year apocalypse and arguably had room to GROW over this time, is living in a Trader Joes.
So I hope this illustrates why I’m converting the zelda meters used on the website to something that I think would be more realistic in the realm of Hyrule. You can find my very loud and kinda embarrassing but factual! and old post about the conversion here, same link as at the top, but essentially just trust me on the conversation that 1zm is equal to 30 real-life meters.
New Realistic Measurements:
Reservoir Length: 16,350m or 16.35km
Reservoir Width: 10,200m or 10.2km
LW Reservoir Surface Area: 166,770km2
Reservoir Radius: 7170m or 7.17km
(pi)r^2 Reservoir Surface Area: 5,383,530m2 or 5382.53km2
Dam Length: 4200m
Dam Height: 3690m
Dam Width: 900m
The Total Water Rutala Dam Holds Back: 19,865,225,700m3 or 19.8 million cubic kilometers of water AKA 19.8 billion kiloliters AKA 5.2 trillion gallons o’ agua
Now THAT sounds more like the biggest dam in all of Hyrule. In fact, it adds up with the stats of the largest dam in our world(by gallons held), that is, the Three Gorges Dam.
The Three Gorges Dam, located in China, ALSO holds back 5 trillion gallons of water/19 billion cubic meters. Although it is a lot shorter than Rutala’s measurements--I think the amount of water that it holds back will be a perfect guide to see the devastation that Rutala’s potential breakage could cause on Hyrule.
There actually is a simulation online about what would happen if the Three Gorges Dam collapsed but I’m not gonna link it cause it might be a bit too distressing, but just know that I based this on that simulation.
Firstly, the biggest sigh of relief comes from the Samasa Plain.

The plain is very very low and slopes down into the Lanayru Bay, so a lot of the water would empty into there. However, the plain would then be totally submerged, so RIP to the shrines and ruins around there. Areas in red as submerged and areas in green would become islands or marshes.
And with that, the water level of Lanayru Bay would rise drastically. Blue is the new water level, dark green are islands, and light green are potential wetlandish areas that would form as time passed.

But basically, Rutala river would have a new branch that spills directly into the Lanayru Bay.
So now you may be thinking,
“HEY KIP THAT’S NOT SO BAD! MOST OF IT SPILLS OUT INTO THE BAY SO IT’S NOT A LOT OS DESTRUCTION! YAY!”
And you’d be half right.
Yes, a lot of the water is going to spill out over Samasa Plain and yes, Lanayru Bay will house a lot of it. But here’s the kicker.
It’s a bay.
Not an ocean.
It would take 1.25zkm or 30km for the water to make it’s way to the ocean, and the water will be traveling SUPER fast--about 100 kilometers per hour.
And that water wants to move, it wants to flow, and Lanayru Bay cannot help all that water flower because:  It’s shallow as fuck.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This chest shows the deepest point in all of Lanayru Bay.
I dropped a windcleaver down in the water: and using a generous GENEROUS estimate of 2 feet per second given the conditions of the still water in the bay--It took 5 seconds for it to float to the bottom. 10 feet. 3 meters. That’s just barely deeper than the deep end of a backyard swimming pool.
But even being extra EXTRA generous and using a real world estimate: Bays would be around 14 feet deep, roughly 4 meter. And we can be even more generous and say the sounding mountains can accommodate 30 feet of height. 9 meters. 9 + 4 = 14 meter height times 30km by 10km(width) = That’s 4.2 cubic kilometers, or 4.2 billion kiloliters of the 19.8 billion kiloliters in total.
uh oh. wheres the other 15.6 billion kiloliters of water gonna go?
It’s like taking a firehose, and filling up a bathtub. Yeah, the tub’s gonna catch a lot of that water, but that firehose has way, way, way, more water than that tub can hold, and when the tub can have a leak or hole on it, but the rate that that hose is going is astronomically faster than the rate the tub can expel water, so it’s just gonna overflow and water will still spill everywhere
[And this isn’t even taking into the account that Rutala Dam is SIGNIFICANTLY higher that it’s surrounding landscape, and would pour into the river with such a force that it could cause a giant tidal wave and break through the rocky boundaries of the pre-existing Rutala River causing even more water to flow into the bay]
Lanayru Bay would be occupied with a lot of water, and since the other 15.6 billion kiloliters of water can’t immediately flow into it, it’s gonna take the scenic route through Rutala River. It’s high mountains on either side basically just make it a death funnel.
Here’s how that would look:
Tumblr media
This is the new water level for the Lanayru Wetlands. MAn they weren’t lying, those lands do be wet.
so yeah everything is submerged in between 10 to 20 meters of water and you might be thinking
“WELL KIP, I THINK THAT’S NOT SO BAD AFTER ALL! AT LEAST NO MAJOR LANDMARKS WERE DESTROYED AND NO ONE WAS HURT!”
Well, bestie, here’s the thing. This length of land is 3 zelda kilometers long. AKA 90 kilometers long. And you might recall, I said, that this, 3000 meter tall  wall of water was traveler at 100km per hour. Well the good news is, my calculations are a lot easier for this as this large stretch of flat Lanayru Wetlands land lines up perfectly with the flat areas of Yichange, (which was actually traveling at twice the speed compared to Rutala because it didn’t have Lanayru Bay to open up into)
But the bad news is, the video is five minutes long, and this is just the first 50 seconds. This water is destined to travel 400 kilometers. That’s about half of the country of Wales, by the way. The entire length of the state of Virginia.
Here’s the rough path of the total flooding that other 16 billion kiloliters from Rutala Dam
Tumblr media
Oh, and what’s worse is that the rivers in central Hyrule? Yeah they’re like HALF the depth of Lanayru Bay so the flooding will be even WORSE :D
So here’s the new waterlevel map!
Tumblr media
Overtime, a lot of the water is gonna spill onto the paths through Central Hyrule, new swamplands, creeks, etc. etc. The path to the Gerudo Desert will be fin initially, as the water as slowed to the point where it won’t put immediate damage since the bridge is so high. But that new water level plus the influx of water from the River of the Dead is definetly gonna erode that over time and maybe possibly will just collapse and prevent anyone from leaving or entering the desert.
Hyrule Castle will be even more of an island, as the two islands to the left and right of it will be moslty submerged. Also the entire path through Eldin is just fucking done. Everyone in Akkala and Eldin? You’re trapped there. It’s basically a new Lake Hylia but no bridge. Sorry Robbie.
Oh, and also these rapid waters are carrying the debris of it’s destruction, whether the corpses of travelers or giant rocks that it broke off from the side of mountains. So everything is a mess, and depending on the amount of debris, it could completly alter water paths to go even more in land. The rivers are shallow enough, so just pilling in more rocks and dam metal and dirt just makes things shallower
Lake Hylia will be fine, the mini islands are gone, but as a whole, the bridge and the height of the surrounding ridges will keep the water in there. Although a lot of Necluda is basically a goner, and the bridge on either end of Dueling Peaks is totally decimated.
So what did we learn?
All of Hyrule’s economy is fucked. Every major trading path--gone. It’s basically gonna breed even more ethnocentricism, and a bunch of wildlife and sources for food are gone. And not to mention the climate, that’s gonna be fucked too as years pass. Rito and Zora will probably be the most fine? Hylians are fucked though, we destroyed like five stables and basically every river setllement there is. Oh and that influx of water is gonna fuck with the fishes so Hateno and Lurelin aren’t totally out of it either!
Gerudo? Well good thing they’re all lesbians because they sure aren’t going out to woe anybody once those stone pillars holding the bridge give way to the new water levels. Gorons will actually not even know anything’s wrong if I’m being honest. Sheikah? Well that point by Eagus Bridge and Sarhasra slope is gonna connect into a river at some point so I guess they can be a fishing village now.
Oh an RAIN I didn’t even think about that, yeah people are totally gonna die. And if Ruta CONTINUES to pump water into Hyrule (because again, this is only from an INITIAL burst of the damn. Well...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zora’s Domain will be gone within the year. Water levels will just continue to rise, probably take on Central Hyrule first, but then after that the Gerudo Canyon. Also if flooding in Zora’s Domain REALLY continue it would probably spill over and destroy Tarrey Town. So not good all around!
But I think the main takeaway that we can all settle with is that the Flower Lady and her garden are absolutely, positively, dead.
